My wife and I usually find contractors through word of mouth from friends, family or associates, but we found Precise Carpenter online and hesitantly decided to try them out. It turns out that using this company was one of the best decisions that we have made as Precise Carpenter did an OUTSTANDING job installing wood accent walls and trim throughout our bathroom! Sam is extremely detailed, and the artistry of his work is remarkable. It takes a lot of patience to do what he does, and his patience never wavered throughout the project. The Wesley Theological Seminary mail room staff would like to thank Precise Carpenters for such an excellent job. They were very professional, reliable, and skilled. We found ourselves on the internet searching for a carpenter to build a custom counter for our campus mail room. It was then that I found Precise Carpenter. We contacted them, and they came over to our campus mail room and gave an estimate according to our suggestions and their measurements. Furthermore, their estimates were very reasonable and thorough. We never went over budget and they did a little extra job for the mail room. Because Precise Carpenters are creative thinkers, during construction there was an opportunity for me to express my creative ideas and help develop ways to design the front of the counter. Precise Carpenter has been amazing to work with! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. We had a major window replacement job this past summer where we replaced every window in the house; the windows were over 70 years old and was a complex project. The work that Sam and his son did was impeccable. The work looks beautiful and was extremely high quality. Since that project we have gone to Sam to complete many other repairs that we had been putting off over the years. Samuel restored my partially rotten patio door by replacing the entire bottom part with a solid piece of wood. The junction of the old and the new parts is seamless, and both exterior paint and interior stain are matched perfectly. Everything was done on site and in one day. They built us a banquette in our kitchen, and entire built in shelving unit with murphy bed in our office, and updated our master bedroom closet doors to custom doors. If you are lucky enough to find Sam and his staff (sister Dani especially)- you wont be disappointed. They are an amazing duo.My 20+ year old kitchen cabinets were looking worn with lots of bumps and bulges on the 20+ doors and drawers. Sam assured me that they could be repaired and repainted despite not beingsolid wood. They did an exacting job and the price was one I could afford. I have what looks like a brand new kitchen. I cant recommend them highly enough. Real pros and lovely people.

Sam is a SUPER talented carpenter. His customer service is outstanding. He is kind, thorough, and explains everything so that you know what he is doing and why. His prices are reasonable. And scheduling projects is easy and timely.I had several projects that I requested and Sam completed each in record time and each exceeded my expectations. He always makes suggestions or recommendations on how to make the outcome of the project even better than I could have imagined. For example, I needed legs repaired on a bench and Sam rebuilt the bench to make it sturdier. I requested that Sam make a six foot table smaller in order to fit an adjustable desk in the corner and instead Sam rebuilt the desk so that it would fit in the corner. He even repaired the bowing pieces on my wooden fence and all of the rotting wood around the outside of my windows.Sams quality of work in impeccable. He will always be my go to when I have any carpentry or repair needs. I highly recommend Sam and his team for all your carpentry or household needs.

Precise Carpenter installed trim work and ceiling molding in our master bedroom as well as our master bathroom during the first week of February, 2020. Trim work and a door installation were also done in our basement rec-room. The quality of craftsmanship was excellent and well worth the price. Work was performed quickly and with precision. Sam did several jobs for us when we moved into our new home. He stabilized our staircase and bannister, plus replaced a window. When he noticed our bathroom door was not closing properly, he repaired the framing and adjusted door hardware... for free! Sam is thorough and explained everything that he was doing and why. This guy loves what he does, he does it right, and his prices are reasonable. Getting an estimate and arranging an appointment were easy, great communication from Dani. They reinstalled our very poorly installed stairs and doors - messes left by a nightmare of a contractor that we finally fired. My family had an outstanding experience with Precise Carpenter. This team is very professional and went above & beyond to help complete our home project! We recently purchased a home, and the wood around the staircase (trim/moulding) was a disaster. The Precise Carpenter team gave us nothing less than perfection! Not only were they efficient, but they gave great care and attention to detail, even making the wood grain perfectly aligned in tricky areas with many corners/turns. Then, they helped us resize and paint many of the doors in our house that had been hung too low and were scraping against the floor. They also educated us on how to care for wood. They truly are experts, and they are very kind. My family will definitely be requesting their services for future projects!!

If he is not happy with the line himself, he changes the work to make it perfect (even though you were already happy with the outcome). He is always on time, with a very reasonable price, and a great attitude.Here the long description:I am the owner of Georgetown Dentistry in the West End. I originally hired Precise Carpenter as a subcontractor for some trim work that was part of a home renovation I was doing in Northwest D.C. I worked with a lot of contractors over the course of that renovation and Precise Carpenter was the best. They called and confirmed times and dates. They showed up on time, when promised. Their work was meticulous. Their price was reasonable. I ended up calling them back over and over.To be more precise (ha ha), Samuel, the principle and owner, is ridiculously good at carpentry. He is a natural and a perfectionist. I had grown used to forcing contractors to redo sloppy work, but I have never been able to find fault in any of his. When he isnt happy with a cut or a joint, he redoes it himself. I have watched him rip a board with a handsaw and the cut is so perfect and square that it doesnt need any sanding or planing to make it fit. Im talking really fine carpentry. The kind you want done in a high-end house or office.In fact, their work was so good that I have now used them for several major projects in my dental practice. One example is my front desk. My office is modern in design and I asked them to redesign my front desk to be more in keeping with the overall appearance of my office. I had some ideas that would require a lot of very tricky carpentry. He worked long and patiently to achieve what I was looking for. It was particularly difficult because I had only a limited supply of appropriate building materials and a limited window of time for them to work while the office was closed. But they came through! I wish I could post before-and-after pictures here for you to judge for yourself. I have had them back for several other projects since.I highly recommend Samuel and his crew at Precise Carpenter. They truly do precision work. Whatever your project, if it requires carpentry, you should call them first.

We just moved to a townhouse and wanted to replace the old deadbolt and doorknobs on our double front doors with a higher quality Schlage deadbolt, exterior handlesets, and interior levers. Samuel and his associate installed these perfectly, in addition to removing the anchor on our left door and adding it to our right door (a very labor-intensive project, especially in 90 degree heat!) - they then sanded down the edge of the door and added new paint. Both were prompt and professional and left our foyer as clean as when they found it. Weve had some bad experiences with contractors during this move, so we were thrilled when Samuel did his job seamlessly - well definitely be using him for our next project!

Sam is the most capable carpenter I’ve encountered and I’m extremely pleased with the quality of his work on my house. He tackled everything from built-in shelves to round baseboard corners with ease and confidence. I tasked him with a list of areas where I needed him to improve upon or fix the poor-quality carpentry done by others and he delivered every time. He and his team were very thoughtful and disciplined about daily clean-up. That meant a lot because I have a toddler. There was excellent communication from the very beginning with the first quote, subsequent modifications, and throughout scheduling. I couldn’t imagine a more professional carpenter! Hire him now!

Carlos Quimtanilla and Samuel Gonzales from Precise Carpenter repaired and completely refinished two 33 year old mahogany garage doors. This was a complex job and the results were doors that were “as good as new”.The background is that the garage doors were part of a DECK House which we custom built in 1986. They were made of solid mahogany and had been stained and sealed several times over the years. But, after 33 years, two lower sections of each door had areas of wet and dry rot. Although previously repaired, these sections of the doors needed to be replaced. Precise Carpenter was able to obtain lengths of solid mahogany. They machined many custom pieces to replace those that had rotted and could not be salvaged. The lower two sections of the doors had to be removed, disassembled and rebuilt with new wood. Carlos and Samuel sanded and repaired the original parts of the doors which were not being replaced. Before refinishing, they used epoxy to fix some smaller areas which were not being replaced and then calked any wood joints exposed to water infiltration. Finally, they stained the doors and applied a long lasting wood sealer.This was not an easy job. The reconstruction and refinishing of the doors took several days of hard work. They did not rush the job. All work was professionally done and the quality of their work was superb. Carlos and Samuel were also extremely pleasant to deal with. Sam is not only my number 1 carpenter but also a good friend now. I am a general contractor in DC. We build multi million dollar homes and Precise is my only sub contractor who I would give him the key, explain what needs to be done and leave. As a building trade professional, Precise has my full confidence. The tasks he performed for me are NOT simple and straightforward things: he routed recessed SOSS hinges, Cavity Slider pocket doors, LED lighting installation, recessed baseboards, glass railing installation etc. you name it. They work through any challenges that come up and take whatever time is necessary to get things done the way you want them. For our small mud room they built custom built in cubbies and cabinets lining two walls. We didnt even have the design finalized until the night before they were starting and it was no problem. Cannot recommend them enough.

They were careful, conscientious and diligent, and the finished work shows the care they took. The price was also eminently fair. Actual work done was replacement of 9 interior doors, repair of one more door. Replacement of door jamb/casing of 3 of them. Repair of cracked drywall in one room. Custom replacement of 2 wooden thresholds of bathroom entrances. All work was done as stated in the estimate. Samuel with his coworkers Nicholas and Junior were responsive and pleasant to work with. They went above and beyond, cleaning thoroughly after each phase of the job, and the 2 custom made thresholds were not in the contract, but he did them anyhow when we asked. Will certainly recommend Precise Carpenter and use them in the future.

I hired Precise Carpenters to install lights and moulding in my bedroom and create a custom cabinet to fit my refrigerator. Sam and his son were punctual, easy to work with, and most importantly they produce very high quality work. They go above and beyond to make sure that all the details are just right and the end results are near perfect. They even took the time to clean up and vacuum afterwards which just shows how much care they put into their work and the end results. On top of that their quotes were honest and reasonable. I will be using them for future projects and cannot recommend them enough.

I was very satisfied with the work done by them; the quality was excellent, the cost was reasonable, and it was done on schedule.
