I hired Miguel and his team at the recommendation of a friend for some interior painting and I am so glad I did. The team worked fast, at a very reasonable price, and the results were beautiful! Miguel and his staff did an amazing job with my apartment renovation in DC! I couldn’t recommend his business more highly to anyone looking for a contractor. His attention to detail, general expertise regarding all aspects of home renovation, and follow-through are exceptional and he was able to do every part of the job that we needed - painting all the walls, doors, and closets throughout the apartment, replacing 3 sets of closet doors, replacing some of our lights and blinds, and upgrading our windowsill to be more structurally sound and spacious. Although we initially hired Miguel mainly to paint, he saw where there were structural weak points where the plaster had deteriorated and replaced them as well. While this made the renovation take longer than initially anticipated, Miguel went out of his way to still get things done quickly, including working on a Saturday. Miguel and his team were understanding and patient throughout the process and helped us through every step even through unforeseen circumstances. When our windows weren’t a standard size, he went out of his way to get blinds custom cut to our specifications. When he saw the opportunity to set up an extra light, he brought his electrician to re-wire out setup and make it happen. We had a great experience and will definitely be calling again for any home renovation needs! And saving the number to refer others in the DMV!

Miguel and his team have completed a number of projects for our LeDroit Park row home. The most recent project was a full bathroom (down to studs) and half bath renovation. As typical for Miguel, the work was stunning and exactly what we wanted.Miguel and his team earn top marks for cleanliness of the jobsite, quality, timeliness, respectfulness of client needs, pricing, and honesty. Miguel is up front with expectations for each project and he is always true to his word. His team is also flexible to client requests, and have adjusted a few projects after I have asked for last minute changes.Simply put, I am so happy I found Miguel and his team. They are my go-to for all projects and Miguel is the first person I consult when I have a new project.One final note -- during covid Miguel and his team were very respectful and maintain proper masking and social distancing at all times. This is just another example of their wonderful professionalism. They were also conscious that we have dogs in our house and made sure to accommodate our special needs due to a very nervous pup!I will be hiring them again for my next project!

We are not ones to frequently post reviews, but given the work that Miguel and his team did with our primary bathroom renovation, a shout out is well deserved. Miguel took over our project after the demolition had been completed. He estimated the cost and time it would take, and he was on target with both. During that time, he did not miss a day or fail to clean up at days end. The workmanship was excellent, he provided good advice, and he was very patient with all of our questions and the requisite owner changes. We have several small to large projects on the horizon and will not hesitate to call Miguel when we are ready to start. Highly recommend.

Working with Abanto has been great! Craftsmanship is excellent (worked on fixing hardwood floors, renovating an entire bathroom - including walls, vanity, sink, lights, etc), installing overhead lights, and power outlets. and they are very reliable with their work and responding to needs. I would continue to use Abanto for future projects and have recommended them to others as well.

Miguel is a patient and dedicated to detail work as per specification.He cleans up after his work is done. His work is excellent. He is skillful, professional and he finishes his work on time. His work was fixing the leaking pipe in my kitchen. After he fixed the pipe, he fixed the wall and painted it with the matching color to the old paint. It looks perfect as if there was no big hole of the leaking/outburst pipe.Thank you very much Miguel! 👍🙏

As new homeowners, weve had to deal with a lot of contractors, but Abanto Painting and Carpentry has so far been the best. They are professional, friendly, flexible, and offer great pricing. We had Miguel and his associate work on the exterior trimming/design of our house and their work was amazing; we were very impressed with the quality of the work and the attention to detail - we have already received a number of compliments on how great our home exterior looks. We loved that they showed us the progress along the way, continuously discussed our preferences, and that they went above and beyond to make sure we were happy with their work and their service. We highly recommend them and will definitely continue using them for future projects.

Miguel is the best contractor we have ever used. We hired Miguel and his team to build a fence, including setting large posts in concrete between two property lines.They did a great job and we love the fence. But most importantly, they were perfectionists when it came to the work quality and they went above and beyond the original scope of work. His prices were very reasonable and they showed up on time, everyday to get the job.Great experience with Miguel and highly recommend hiring him for any job!

Miguel Abanto is extremely professional, honest and a very skilled painter and handyman. As we watched his team paint the entire house next door, we hired him to re-caulk our 3 bathrooms, which was a very detailed job. He has an expert eye for color. He came quickly and handled the work himself. We were so pleased that we asked him back to do some minor electrical work, which he did well. I highly recommend his company.

I have worked with Miguel on several occasions. He helped me with a very complicated plumbing issue as well as several simpler tasks like light/fan replacements, faucet repairs and even some locksmithing. Miguel is very good at what he does and will do what he says he will do. He asks a fair price and sticks to it. He is professional, courteous and quick. I would unreservedly recommend Miguel for plumbing, painting, handyman work and carpentry and will be working with him again in the future, without a doubt.

Miguel is a pro in all senses of the word. We hired him to move a bathroom light from above the mirror on the wall to the ceiling. When he arrived to do the job the first thing he did was to cover everything in the bathroom with plastic to make for an efficient clean up. Miguels electrical work and drywall repair is perfect!! No signs that the bathroom light was ever on the wall! Great job and were already discuss multiple projects for the next few weeks. Hes honest, provides an incredible skill-set with pricing that is fair for both sides.

Miguel and team did an excellent job. I asked them to do a number of different painting jobs around the house. They arrived when they said they would, they were flexible when I wanted to switch around a couple of minor things, and they cleaned up entirely before they left. This is the second time I have worked with Abanto (first time was on drywall repairs in the ceiling) and will definitely work them them again.

We hired Abanto Painting to remodel a kitchen and bathroom in our sons apartment. Miguel was always courteous and prompt. He is knowledgeable about the work. Remodeling can be stressful on its own but scarcity of appliances, delivery delays and other obstacles can derail the project. Miguel was flexible, accommodating and reassuring.He demoed the old kitchen , including floors, installed new tiled floors, repaired walls, installed cabinets, all appliances and arranged for a countertop subcontractor. The kitchen is beautiful, and within our deadline - school start. He also replaced the bathroom vanity, faucet and mirror. The final bill was exactly as expected and agreed upon.We could not be more satisfied and are happy to recommend Miguel and his company.

I have used Abanto Painting and Carpentry for more than 5 years and each time I have called on this company for help, they have helped me with painting, installing a new toilet, installing a new light fixture. Last week I had water damage from the bathroom and they came and fixed it and plastered and painted and it looks terrific. They are very professional, reliable, dependable and their prices are reasonable. They can do all kinds of work inside and outside of the home. I highly recommend them.

We initially hired Miguel and his team because they gave us the best quote for installing a backsplash. And boy are we glad we did! They didn’t just do great work, they also took the time to explain everything along the way and to ensure we were using quality materials. We were so pleased with the backsplash that we hired them back to repaint the house. And again, we were impressed by the quality of the work and even more by the professionalism. We failed to notice a couple of paint issues during the final walkthrough and asked Miguel weeks later if we could pay him to come address them. Even though we had already paid him in full, Miguel made a special trip to touch them up at no additional charge. We’re pretty particular folks when it comes to our house and, honestly, we couldn’t be happier with the folks at Abanto. Wed give them an enthusiastic six stars if we could and theyll be the first call we make for future home projects.

We were fortunate to run into Miguel, owner of Abanto painting, at Sherwin Williams paint store in Georgetown!Abanto did a fantastic job painting our entire house. It was easy-peasy working with him, we chose the paint color, and he did all the rest, buying the paint, etc. Because he does such high volume, he was able to purchase paint at discount at Sherwin-Williams. Painting is just not rolling paint on the wall, but also attention to trimmings, baseboards, and doors, in addition to prepping the walls very nicely and painting straight edges (line between trim and walls). Devil is in the details. He was very reliable and well-priced. The workmanship was very well done. He did the job done in a week, which was what we needed, and house is three levels.We can’t recommend him enough!
