Used Benchmark to get a new outlet installed outside. They were able to get me on the schedule quickly, which has been hard to find lately. Communication via email was very responsive and easy. They showed up right on time for our appointment and accomplished the work very quickly. Install went in great and it works perfectly. When accomplishing the work, for safety reasons they had to turn off my heat pump, and forgot to turn it back on before leaving. They were able to make everything right very quickly and easily and I appreciated theyre communication. Would not hesitate to use them again for work.

Called Thursday and spoke to Ed. Indicated I lost power in our detached garage. Something was tripping the breaker and I couldnt figure out. I asked if there was initial charge for them to come out and provide estimate and he said No and who does that he exclaimed!!! Now thats unheard of. Ed came by the next day and he introduced himself as the owner. Ed was very pleasant, took a quick peek of the issue and explained the process. There was no pressure. I recommend this company.

Honest, dependable, responsive, and cost effective! We were really happy to work with Ed at Benchmark Home Services. The previous owner of our home had personally installed some rather questionable electrical wiring at some point which was causing us problems, and finally an outage for part of the house. Benchmark responded quickly, arrived on time, discovered several issues and took care of them. We were really impressed with the overall professionalism.

Summary: High quality workmanship, courteous, clean, and flexible.Story: I decided that I wanted to relocate my laundry room and water heater from inside the house to outside in the garage. Doing this would require relocating (2) 240v circuits and (1) 120v circuit, so I started looking for an electrician to come over and quote the project. I called a couple of the larger companies in the Seattle metro area that advertise on TV but they all wanted me to pay a fee just for them to come out and quote. I start searching for local companies and found Benchmark Home Services Inc. I connected with Ed and explained what I was looking to have done, and he said he’d be able to stop by same day to walk the potential job site and talk about possibilities.Ed arrived at our agreed meeting time, evaluated what I was looking to have done (including a new idea to add an outlet to the bathroom) and said he’d send over a formal quote. I received the detailed quote shortly thereafter and agreed to have his company do the work. They worked with me on scheduling to try and coordinate the timing with the plumber so that we wouldn’t be without hot water.On the planned day of the installation, my father had a medical event that required my assistance. Ed and his team were very understanding and accommodated this unforeseen event by saying they could try the following day. The crew showed up the next day, talked me through what they were going to do, asked important questions (e.g. kids and/or animals) and got to work.When coming inside, they took off their shoes before laying down the temporary tarps for walkways where they’d work. The workmanship was high quality, and the job site cleanup performed before leaving was equally as impressive. Besides detailed vacuuming, they wiped down all surfaces they touched including the painted exterior door to the panel - no dark spots or fingerprints.I will recommend BHS to any family or friends if they need to get electrical work done, and will undoubtedly call them for all of my future needs.

Hands down the best electricians! I was nervous as a new homeowner and only going off reviews, but these are the right guys! Ed and his team came to review my project and quote me before doing the work. They showed up on time, finished and didnt waste ANY of my time or money. The ceiling fan and new light look fantastic! I will FOR SURE be calling them again soon.I didnt care to quote anyone else, but to me, this seemed like a fair price considering they also provided parts and had to go into my scary attic to find a connection. Ed was extremely responsive, responding to my website inquiry within an hour or so, and we set an appointment for him to look at a couple of outlets that were no longer working properly. He was able to quickly diagnose and resolve the issues all in the same visit, which was great. He also helpfully recommended solutions to a few other older house issues. I really appreciated this because contractors are swamped these days and its tough to find someone whos happy to look at a small job. Would definitely call Ed again!

This is a review for Ed and Benchmark Home Services....Ed was the best! I contacted Benchmark on the weekend via the Benchmark website (as they are a local electrical company I identified via a Google Map search) and filled out my request to replace a ceiling light fixture. Ed got back to me on Sunday (which I didnt expect) and offered to help. On Monday he scheduled with me to replace the 14 ceiling light (that I had been wanting to get done for a month) and he arrived Monday afternoon, promptly as scheduled, was very professional and completed the work in under a half hour! I am very happy with the job and how easy it was to get done. Thank you Ed!

The Benchmark Home Services staff and electricians are fantastic! This Monday morning we contacted them by e-mail and received a prompt reply and by Monday afternoon we received a home visit from a very professional lead electrician to estimate the work to be done. During the initial in home consultation the electrician answered all our questions. On Tuesday we worked together with the staff by e-mail and agreed to the scope of work at a better than fair price and we scheduled an appointment for the work to be performed on Wednesday morning. The crew arrived early and the work was professionally completed within hours. Our projects included replacing multiple light fixtures, a ceiling fan, installation of a new dimmer switch and a new thermostat. All of the work was done perfectly and the site was all cleaned up before they left. I will definitely be contacting them again for future services. Ed at Benchmark Home Services was super fast to respond to my online inquiry. He was able to send guys out that same afternoon. Two of our outlets in the kitchen area had started repeatedly tripping, though intermittently. They were able to fix the problem, but since it was intermittent, we couldnt tell immediately while they were still there, if it had been fixed. They were very clear to give them a call back if there was still a problem, but there hasnt been. We remembered we were having issues with our outdoor outlets as well and they were able to replace them too. Were very pleased with their service!

Electric Ed was patient and answered all my questions putting me at ease that this process would be painless… and it was! We have found the best electrical service in the area. We have tried a couple of others over the years and they were okay. We had another company that we set an appointment with a week ago this past Monday. On Monday they never showed up and I called them and they said they had to cancel due to Covid. We gave them our phone # and email address but we were never contacted. So I called several other electricians in the area and could not get anyone, voicemail, no answer or were booked up. I called Benchmark on Monday but got voice mail also. A few minutes later Ed, from Benchmark, called me back. I gave him our problem and he called us Tuesday and came out to look at the project (small job). He was very pleasant and personable. It was a pleasure to be able to have a genuine smile, great attitude and professional demeanor rolled into one. (Not very many of these lately). He gave us an estimate and said he would be out that afternoon or out today. He called late yesterday and said his men would be out this morning at 09:00AM. They were a few minutes early and had the job done in an hour. The men were also very personable, informative and knowledgeable. Very professional crew. With out-of-town guests staying with us over Thanksgiving, we were already overloading our circuits a couple of days ahead of time, and were nervous that our dinner preparations for 10 guests on Thanksgiving Day might wreak total havoc on the electrical system. Ed answered the phone when I called, and while he was booked up with installation work prior to Thanksgiving, he did carve out time to come out to our house that same day to make sure we werent going to burn our house down, and to give us tips about how to put less pressure on different points throughout the system. Ed was knowledgeable, thorough, friendly, and ultimately reassuring. We now know more about our homes aging electrical system, and are confident that we can have a safe Thanksgiving gathering here. We will definitely call him again when the need arises.

I called Benchmark on a Friday afternoon to try to find someone who could help me with an electrical problem I was having; my fuse tripped that was connected to my washer and my hot water heater, but there was a metal brace on the electrical panel keeping the fuse open. Because I had never seen that before, I felt uncomfortable just flipping it back on like I normally would. After calling - no kidding - dozens of electricians who were all booked for weeks, Ed walked me through it over the phone! He was booked solid like the other companies, but he didn’t just hang up because he couldn’t make it out to my place on short notice. It was such an easy fix, but that’s not the point. The reason I’m writing this review is because he took time out of his day to understand the problem and then help a stranger with a solution that saved me time, worry, and a weekend without hot water. He was knowledgeable and helpful and he could have easily charged me a huge amount of money to take a look at it, but he did this because he’s a decent human being who could help; an honest, trustworthy business owner. If I ever have a problem in my house in the future, Benchmark Home Services will be the first call I make. Ed restored my faith in good people!
