The folks at Artisan are great: They are knowledgeable, communicative, skilled, efficient, and fun to have around. They clearly enjoy the important work they are doing. We bought solar panels from Artisan for our house in 2013 and then had them upgraded (by Artisan) in the summer of 2024. The project all went according to plan and we are back up and running with panels that are 25% cheaper than in 2013 and that produce 41% more energy. The new app for tracking solar production (Enlighten/Enphase) works great and is lots of fun to work with. Considering the tax incentives, solar panels are now a smart investment not just a donation to the fight against global warming. We did have some challenges with getting some of the union rebates but again the Artisan crew figured it all out and we got our rebates. I highly recommend Artisan. If you have a nice southern exposure, solar panels are for you.

When building our new home we decided to go as environmentally friendly as possible. Solar power was the way we wanted to go and we were very lucky to have Artisan Electric do the work. They were very patient as they had to work with and around our building contractors time frame. Any questions or issues were responded to quickly. The county inspector approved of the company as good and competent to work with and even an employee told us they are the best in the business. Our system has been running now for a couple of weeks and it has been exciting to see the power generated from our solar panels.

Artisan did a great job installing our solar panels. We had a Tesla battery back up installed so we wont run out of power during an outage. We talked to a friend of ours who had their panels installed by Artisan & they were very satisfied w/ their work. We are happy w/our install. Cant wait to see our 1st bill from PSE. Love looking at the app & seeing how much energy we are storing up for winter. Everyone was great to work with & explained how it all worked. We had some trouble w/the battery & found out it needed an upgrade but its working fine now. We would highly recommend them.

We installed an amazing array with Artisan Electric. Its been seamlessly cranking away for several months now without us having to raise a finger. Communication could have been a bit better during the installation process, which is the only reason this isnt a five-star review. I know they are working on that. This is the second array I have installed over 11 years. I always wonder up front if I am going to have buyers remorse. It has never happened. I love having solar on the house and being able to run unlimited amounts of AC over the summer while still pumping huge amounts of power back onto the grid. 9/10 recommend, which, these days, is pretty good.

From our first conversation with Evan through the actual installation led by Josh and Nigel and a really great crew of talented people to our final product overview with the system On we had nothing but a positive experience. Professional throughout and incorporating creative thinking into the installation, including accessing an uncomfortable crawl space, their work attitude was focused on giving good service and keeping the impact on us to a minimum. Their collective knowledge in both products, design, and installation was truly impressive. In fact the King County inspector giving final inspection of the system claimed he learns nuanced details from the experts at Artisian and would definitely use them if he had a system to install. I would highly recommend them to anyone and have already done so with friends. Thank you Artisian!

My new solar panels installed by Artisan have been up and running for three weeks. Im very pleased with the entire process from quoting, to installation and permitting, PSE activation, and final walk through. The Artisan team made it very easy for me. Even though I got a late start on deciding to get solar panels they were able to schedule me in quickly during a very busy time (my project was smaller than most).After talking to a few other installers I got a recommendation to talk to Artisan. On their website I saw that they use union electricians. I figured that would make them more expensive, and I was willing to pay a little more to support the union, but in the end it was actually less expensive. I also appreciate that the panels they used are manufactured in the US.I love looking at my app each day to see how much excess power I generated and sent back to the grid!

Making the decision to add a solar installation to my residence was a daunting challenge. So many details, so many issues that can go wrong. I vetted six different contractors. I had very specific design criteria. I wanted the solar panels to be mounted in a way that they wouldn’t be easily seen from the ground; I wanted the storage batteries to be installed in my basement utility room; and I wanted two systems, one to provide electricity for the house, the other for the heat pump – independent of each other; finally, I wanted to integrate this with my propane powered generator. I placed the high level of importance on quality of work, and aesthetics. Finally, I wanted to make certain I was receiving a reasonable bang for my buck, as there seems to be too many less than honest/competent operators in this field. I chose Artisan Electric for my project, and I was very pleased with the outcome. They are locally based electrical contractors that were willing to work with me and address the areas that I felt were important. They showed good commitment to their work, the installation is professional, looks good, and they did a good job cleaning up When they were finished. I would highly recommend Artisan Electric to anybody who’s considering adding solar to their business or residence.

We shopped around and asked for referrals from friends and neighbors and only heard rave reviews about Artisan. The planning process was thorough, Evan Leonard gave us great details and helpful information. The installation of our solar system went very well. We had a one-week slip due to PSE. Thrilled that were sending electricity to them now, maybe they can stop burning coal! Evan also gave us a great startup briefing and all the documents we need to apply for the tax credit. Great support also from PSCCU on the financing!

I was looking for a backup power system for my house due to numerous winter power outages ranging from 4-24 hours. Because of close house spacing and small yards(noise), I decided against natural gas powered generators. As I researched solar system battery storage systems, the PowerWall 3 came out. I did not want solar panels but it had the storage and power output that would give me 24 hours of backup. The Artisan electricians were here 2 days. A lot of intricate installation work was needed. They did such a professional job. Answered my questions. Did an excellent clean-up. Everything worked perfectly. I just did a test taking the house off-grid and it powered the house for 30 hours(spring-time). Artisan has answered all my questions and I am confident it will work great in the next winter.

Since Penlight fully activated our solar panel installation in May, we have generated more power than we have consumed.In May we generated 45+ kwh, and in each of June, July, and August we generated 60+ kwh, while the most we have consumed during each of those 4 months was 30 kwh. Our monthly bill is $32.66 ($30 electric base charge + $1.66 taxes) every month. This pleases us.If we get $32.66 bills all winter, that will be fine, indeed.Artisan appears to have done an excellent job, well done at every step and overall.

We had solar panels installed on our roof in July, and I have nothing but praise for Artisan Electric & Solar. First, Tom came out with a drone that he flew over our house to take photos so the placement of the panels could be designed. There are panels on the south side and east side (back) of our house - see photos. The installation took 2 days, and the crew was excellent! Professional, neat, quiet, efficient. My neighbors were impressed with their work. They were on my roof during the 2 hottest days of the summer and did not complain! (I got them extra water and Gatorade.) The electrical work was done well and safely - and it all passed inspection with Seattle City Light, no problem. We did have a little connection problem that Artisan responded to immediately, trouble-shooted, and we were back in business. I love the Tesla App where I can see how much energy the panels are generating, how much is being used by my house and how much is going back to the city. What a thrill! Its fun to watch the electrical meter run backwards! And the Tesla Inverter on the side of our house is not an eye-sore at all. (See photo.) Thanks Artisan!

We had originally installed a system through a different provider, but they gave me a lot of runaround and they wouldnt install the system to the capacity we needed. Enter Artisan. The installation was solid and the professionalism of the install people was top notch. I appreciated the education, time and communication from the sales side. There were several options provided to meet any need which was appreciated.The communication for the project was a disappointment. The project was supposed to start in February but was pushed out to undetermined (I was never given an updated timeline) time, in April a honey pot was dumped in my neighbor yard without any warning and nobody ever came to move it, and then the project finally started in may. Several times I was told someone would be out in the morning but nobody would show, or “at 2” but then they’d knock at the door at 9am and I’d be at work. I let the co know of my communication concerns and my project mgr called and said I was “wrong” and their communication was fine. I guess I was put in my place. So several more folks show up over the course of the next two months for inspections that I’m not informed of. I was never told how to turn it on (the county PUD guy fumbled around with me until we figured it out), and I’ve never received my final walk through. To boot, I’ve notified them that one room has about half lumens light and they flicker which concerns me. I see other reviews where people were picky. I was not. Im not sure why the treatment I got. Maybe my project just wasn’t big enough to register. A little dark cloud over an otherwise positive move in life.

I had a great experience installing solar panels with Artisan. They were always communicative and professional. I never felt pressured to do anything and the sales rep was happy to answer my questions. The planning and installation process went well. There were a few bumps but Artisan problem solved and was always quick to respond. After the installation our sales rep, Thomas, did a thorough walk through of the system for us and helped us navigate the online monitoring system. They also put together all the tax documents for our rebate which was very easy to input when we did our taxes. I highly recommend Artisan.

I am extremely satisfied with the quality of work and professionalism of the team who completed the install. Timeframes, estimates, and communication were all accurate and they took great care to make sure I had had a good understanding of what was going on and what would happen next. I also felt great peace of mind knowing that their work is guaranteed by the local electrician union in case anything happens to the company in the next 25 years. You’re not getting that from other companies (I think I got 10 quotes) and is the singular reason I picked Artisan. I’m really happy with that decision and would recommend them to anyone who is having a hard time deciding on a solar installer.

Artisan makes the entire process straightforward and stress-free. We worked with Jeff to design the installation of an 8kW system. He was patient and thorough with our questions and hesitancy, as we took some time to decide to proceed. Artisan was clear with the scheduling (it does take some months to get to installation these days) and connected us with the local solar loan options. Jeff handed us off to the installation manager at the pre-installation inspection. Our installation was moved up as space opened in their schedule, as we had hoped, and the entire process took a couple of days. The team of installers worked quickly and it was much quieter than expected. The team was friendly and polite, and they cleaned up the site afterwards.Whenever we hit a payment milestone or external inspection point, someone at Artisan would be in communication and handle it quickly. We had no issues with the permit inspections. A week or so after installation, we were worried one panel wasnt performing normally, and they sent a team over to check it out quickly.Were now about five months past the installation, and everything is working perfectly. The software to monitor the energy generation and usage is interesting and easy to use. Artisan hands over digital copies of documentation for taxes, and photos of the installation from the roof.

Ive always been taught to leave a place better than you found it. Installing our new solar system is a small part we can do to help reduce our carbon footprint. But if you are reading this, you already know that.For our project, we contacted several companies. Some companies used the time-share condo sales approach others just gave a verbal quote over the phone. Others just looked at satellite images and emailed us their proposal. Artisan Electric did not do any of these poor customer service methods.When I contacted them, they were out to the house within a few days. They took detailed measurements and gave us an initial proposal on the spot. Then they went back to the office to adjust their initial proposal to reflect their site visit and measurements for a revised proposal. All along the way, we were kept informed. Their communication was top notch. When we signed the contract and arranged for the solar loan (they were able to negotiate a better rate for us) we were on the calendar for the install.Before the actual install week (it took about 4 days to do our project) their job foreman came out to inspect the site as well so that he was aware of any possible issues. The crew were on time and very professional. Their workmanship was extremely neat and professional. After everything was installed their foreman was on site for the city inspections (mechanical and electrical). All passed without any issue. Lastly our salesperson came back out for the final walk-through. He went over the entire system and answered any additional questions. I wish all contractors can take a lesson from Artisan on customer service. I highly recommend Artisan.

Artisan’s staff made making a major purchase on my rental and my primary residence easy and comfortable. Staff was very responsive and patient with my questions and schedule concerns. I sought many bids, some coming in cheaper than Artisans, but at the end of the day I chose Artisan because of their staff, customer service and responsiveness. Because they’re a local union shop I take comfort knowing should something go wrong, I have a safety net. I’ve heard too many horror stories about their online competitors not doing their front end due diligence, bidding low then hitting the homeowner up with change orders that drive the price up. Also, the online companies cannot provide a warranty safe house. Bottom line, if you don’t have the time to look me in the eye when bidding my job or responding within a decent amount of time when I’m dropping tens of thousands of dollars, you’re not worth my business. I’ve recommended Artisan to 4 other friends and family. Three of the four pulled the trigger and cannot be happier.

We interviewed several companies before finally deciding to get our solar roof. Some of the companies were much bigger than Artisan and it was like being sold a used car. Thomas was our Artisan sales person and he was clearly the nicest with a no pressure but very informative approach. The installation was very quick and clean. Today the sun is out and bouncing off the panels. We have been banking credits in the winter months.

My PV system was installed in October 2020, and I received outstanding service from Artisan Electric. They were professional and friendly. The design we finalized was close to Evan’s recommendations, and was perfect for my home. It was well worth the many questions that I asked to become well-informed about the process, and all on the Artisan staff were patient with me and even seemed to appreciate my level of detailed interest. The installation process took about three days, and the lead electrician, the site coordinator, along the roof crew, were all polite and considerate, as well as extremely knowledgeable. I got the strong impression that the employees enjoyed their work and that the company is very well-managed. I did get another bid before choosing Artisan, and I am so happy that I asked Artisan Electric to design and install my system. I appreciate that Artisan is a union shop, yet the price for the other bid that I got was nearly the same price (but with less desirable choices for my installation), plus the other company’s consultant couldn’t answer quite a few of my questions. I found that Artisan designers were extremely well informed leaders in the PV industry in our area.Since Artisan can also provide other electrical services, I feel confident that my investment will be better protected, and that this company will be around to service my system for many years. I highly recommend Artisan Electric, without reservation, to anyone considering solar panels for their home.

We hired Artisan to install solar for our home. What we loved were the people, quality friendly individuals that I trusted. I also loved how quickly they were able to install (1 day!) and the electrician was great. Some of the trouble spots were getting communication a day or two after a phone call or email, this delayed powering on the system by 2 days and one of the workers smoked which I didn’t care for. Overall it was a positive experience and now we are looking to hire them for an EV charging install. I love that they are local and union workers!

Ive used Artisan for my Solar power install a couple of years ago and did they did a great job. Glad to use them again.They had to replace the electrical line from power pole to the house. Previous power line was underground and the line deteriorated with numerous faults. They constructed the required electrical housing for new power panel and the necessary wiring. We got our 22 solar panels (on our roof) in 2014. Five years later, I am still really glad we picked Artisan. Great support, great follow-through. Everything was very professional, from the beginning. They listened carefully to what we wanted, did a lot of measurements at the site, then presented us with various options to choose from, and pros & cons of each option (not just cost). The installation team was very careful. And when there was a recall of one of the parts of our system, they helped us with that too. It was a big project for us, and having their support all along the way has been super.

We used Artisan both to inspect a residential solar setup before we put in a bid on a house, and then to do work afterwards.A large part of the reason we went with them was because of how solid their inspection was. Had them install a new solar inverter to replace one that was recalled, and add optimizers to an existing solar install. The entire process was fantastic- probably one of the best contractors Ive worked with, starting from working with us on the quote, to their attention to detail during the install, how carefully they worked with our existing system, and going the extra mile at every step of the process.Even post install, they invested serious time and effort to verify their work, educate us on the new system, and make sure we had all the necessary paperwork.Seriously, hands-down one of the best experiences weve had with a contractor and were very happy with the resulting solar setup.

Artisan is great. If you want solar, I strongly recommend them. I shopped thoroughly and was actually leaning toward a company that installed my metal roof also to install solar, but when I solicited proposals and bids, Artisan was more responsive, more knowledgeable, more experienced, and flexible in adjusting their proposal to meet some of my specific requests. I am so glad I engaged Artisan. I got a remarkably affordable system that will supply all of our electrical needs, including charging a car for city driving. So essentially, beyond generating solar for our house, I am running a car on solar. The crew was great, Evan (a co-owner) was great, I got a clean looking and well-organized system and I can check my computer or phone and see that it is working well and will be generating all of our electrical needs. If you want solar, I strongly recommend this company.

We’re investing in an electric future, so I initially contacted Artisan Electric about installing a car charger, as they were the rare certified installer that serviced my area. They were quick to respond, and helpful in helping me figure out what needed to be done. As it is, our electric panel box was decades ancient, and also needed to be updated, the house wasn’t grounded according to current code, etc. Artisan came and took care of it all in a day, even going so far as to salvage slumbering strawberry plants in the bed they installed the ground in. I cannot recommend them enough, especially for anyone like me who lives in Kitsap County, but finds their choices for professional electrical work lacking.Should we get to instal a solar roof/panels in the future, I know where to go.

FANTASTIC EXPERIENCE working with Artisan Electric! From start to completion, the Artisan team was personable, professional and punctual and they finished the project on schedule. I would highly recommend this company and we have also used them for other jobs requiring an electrician. We just celebrated our one year anniversary with our panels and sold back 1/3rd more energy then we consumed; the whole system will pay itself back in less then the projected time of 7 years, hooray!

Just over two years ago we signed up for solar power through the Solarize program in Northwest Seattle. Artisan was the company that was contracted to do the work. We can not sing their praises enough. They explained the process in detail, answering all my questions and provided a readable list of options once they had done their analysis.Once we signed the contract they walked with us every step of the way through installation. A couple months after install, they decided it would be helpful for us to have monitoring to keep track of how the system was doing. They installed all the hardware and showed us what the monitoring system could do. Even then they werent done. At the one year anniversary they came back and got up on the roof to see how the system is doing.These folks know their stuff, are responsive and, well, are just pros.

I have no association with, professional experience with, or prior knowledge of this company, but I have followed the recent story (November, 2016) very carefully over the past few days, hoping to see justice done one way or another. It genuinely appears to be a case of the kids involved crying wolf after being caught behaving badly, and using their race as a way to create a false story. I am saddened by this, as it really does a great deal of damage to race relations as a whole. PLEASE read the statement on their FB home page, and reconsider unfairly rating this company. I am very impressed by their statement, and their accountability for the part that their employee had to play in the incident, even if he was unfairly portrayed. I hope the parents of the kids involved use this as a opportunity to have a very frank discussion about how very, very damaging it is to make false statements about racism, and how far backwards it pushes the cause of racial harmony in general.

We had a wonderful experience with Artisan Electric. The sales team was fully available and gave us all the information we needed without overwhelming us with a 2 hour meetings. Their quote was for a larger system for way less money than competing companies. Our system is working very well! By April we already have negative power bills and our rebate is back from our federal taxes. The installation happened on time in December. The installers are union workers who were efficient and respectful. I would highly recommend this company if you are interested in getting Solar panels!

Wanted to get solar installed got a number of competitive quotes. The reason I went with Artisan was the extremely friendly service from Jeff Bennett, he was very patient taking extra time to explain the process. The price was also comparable with the other quotes I received.I was really glad I went with Artisan their entire process from start to end is designed to keep you in the loop with what is going on. They are very flexible and communicative. They did exactly what they said they would each and every time.Quality install (no roof leaks!) and worked with me to minimize the cosmetics of the install to the street front.It really made me feel like that they had my back during the entire process and really cared about their work.Case in point - Jeff went to bat for me when PSE screwed up and was taking a really long time to turn the system on (> 30 days - out of Artisans control), which I really appreciated.Only suggestion I would have for them for future improvement would be to make sure they seal the lines coming in and out of the house and not using blue painters tape for the labels, but that was caught on the inspection and fixed promptly.

Artisan has agreements with local financial institutions for solar setup loans. We were producing electricity in no time. I couldnt ask for more.

Artisan installed our system just over a year ago. I was a bit skeptical at first- not sure how working with a contractor would go. When Anthony showed up at our door he had a packet with 6 (!) potential solar plans for our home. Each showed the cost, benefits, return on investment timeline, and power production plan. There were helpful graphs that let us see quickly how the plans measured up against each other. There was no pressure- and when I sent messages asking questions the responses were fast. When the project started the workers were professional, respectful, and quiet. We could continue with our lives pretty much as usual. There was some noise of course, but much less than expected. Since our 2 youngest were still taking naps that was important. The project was done ontime and on budget. We had helpful follow ups at the end and a month later to make sure we understood everything. And the few times Ive asked questions over the past year, responses were still fast. They dont leave you once the project is done. They dont just sell solar, they really believe in it.
