I felt it was important to edit and update my previous review of Mike Cocozza and Trinity Custom Homes. It has now been 2 years since Trinity built a new home on Siesta Key for my family and me. After Hurricane Helene pushed a wall of water through my property, we were left with about 10 inches of sand in our interior lower level and over a foot of sand on the ground, driveway and carport. My wife and family were upset, to say the least. The morning after the storm, Mike and Kyle called me personally to see how we were doing and if there was any issues with the house. About an hour after we spoke, Mike, Kyle, Jay and a team of 5 of his guys showed up at my house with shovels and hand removed sand for almost 3 hours. They then removed my wet drywall, powerwashed my interior space and closed off the flow through vents that were washed away to protect our home from the elements. After they left us, they were off to assist their other past clients. This was not a warranty item, nor was this charged to me. This was what a custom home builder with integrity, morality and someone that truly cares for their customers is all about. I later found out, it was not just me, but Mike and his team visited every past client and assisted them, just like me, in their time of need.I live, own businesses and work on Siesta Key. I can assure you in speaking with many others, no other builder I have heard of did any such thing PERSONALLY for their past clients. If you know someone that has built a home recently and that had storm damage, ask them if the principals/owners of the company came to their homes and put a shovel or screw gun in their hands. Ill bet you the answer is NO.This is simply just another reason why their company is above ALL, and you should more than consider building or remodeling with Trinity Custom Homes.Below is my post from a few years ago...which I stand by still today;I have completed several projects with Trinity Construction & Design that have ranged from a 20k rehab to over a 3M total home renovation. To put it simply, if you are looking for a knowledgeable, on time, honest, transparent, hard working and technically savoy licensed general contractor, call Mike Cocozza of Trinity Construction. If you are looking for someone to blow smoke up your a$$...then call someone else.

We engaged Mike Cocozza and Trinity in 2020 to build a modern, 5500 sf home designed by Mark Sultana (DSDG) on Sarasota Bay. It was a complicated build, including a complete concrete shell. In the toughest of times for builders, Trinity performed at the very highest level. They managed the supply crisis and budget in remarkable fashion. We moved in on schedule and within a few percent of budget. Mike and his team are incredibly responsive and flexible, transparent on schedule and costs, perfectionists in delivering quality in every dimension, and creative in problem solving and providing options for the homeowner. He built our modern, custom home on a cost-plus basis, but I always felt he managed the budget as if he was spending his own money. His philosophy is that the project is not done until we are completely happy, and their performance on punch list and other items post-move-in continues in the same responsive and high-quality manner. Too often, building a new home can be a frustrating experience, or even a nightmare. For us, we enjoyed every minute of the project with Trinity, during the design phase, and especially seeing the home rise, exceeding all our expectations.

I met Mike when he was brought in on a new-build to take over for a contractor who lost those values. I refer him to friends and colleagues and have received calls back thanking me for introducing them to Mike and his team.As a licensed home inspector Ive seen my share of sloppy workmanship but Ive stood in some of Mikes luxury builds and my parents and I both live in two of his remodels and his attention to detail is unmatched.

Trinity is the only company that has performed exactly as they said they would, given us a quality of product beyond our extremely particular expectations, surprised us by addressing any issue before we had a chance to ask and will actually make us miss them now that weve wrapped things up. I just finished a complete renovation on a condo I purchased on Longboat Key as a second home. I had many concerns going into this process as I live in the northeast, have no local contacts, and needed to go through this process without being physically present for most of it.I consider myself very lucky to have found Mike and Trinity. I have had homes built for me, added additions, and performed a few renovations on previous homes, and I have never had a better experience than this one. Mike prides himself on honesty, transparency, as well as the quality of his work and the finished product. It is not just a sales pitch, it is apparent over the duration of the project, from beginning to end. In the end, my wife and I couldn’t be more pleased. Mike listened to every request and concern along the way, and if at all possible, was able to deliver each request. When not possible, he was always able to explain exactly why.I will recommend Mike to all of my friends, and happy to have him to use me as a reference in the future for any potential customers. Mike represents what the building industry in general should strive to be.

Trinity construction referred us to tile professionals that they often use for their services. Mark Weeks Senior and Mark Weeks Junior are the two tile professionals that we were referred to. Not having known them before and meeting them for the first time we were immediately impressed with their knowledge and Experience level. We hired them to do a remodel in our master bathroom in our 25-year-old home and they did the most amazing job ever. We also hired them to take up and replace all of our tile in the entire house. The job they did was superb! I would highly recommend these two individuals for any tile job. I want to thank Trinity for referring these two outstanding professionals to us.

Mike and his guys just finished a major home exterior restoration project for us, and we could not be more thrilled, not only with the finished project, but we actually enjoyed every step of the process. Mike kept in constant communication with us throughout the project, and he consulted with us on every detail of the work as we went along. When we had a hard time visualizing what Mike had in mind for some of the work, Mike had his guys make mock ups for us that were very helpful. We had some areas in the framing that were a mess from 29 years of water intrusion and some termite damage. There are some contractors that might have taken advantage of that situation, but Trinity Construction rebuilt those areas to better than new condition, and were very fair with pricing. Now that the project is over, we will miss MIkes guys who were good company, as well as excellent craftsman. We would recommend Trinity Construction to anyone looking for a fair, honest, and highly competent construction company. Too bad you only have five stars for us to give them.

We worked with Trinity on a complete remodel of a 1960s Longboat Key condominium.The scope of this project touched every surface of our home with a spectacular result I can best describe as transformational.Mike and his team managed this project with high professionalism and great response time on every inquiry, allowing us to remain in Michigan throughout the process, only returning to Florida to do a “punchlist” walkthrough upon completion.Trinity used online tools to provide us status updates, including photos, and total cost transparency with all billings online.Trinity also provided helpful suggestions in the design phase of the remodel and we ultimately used Trinity Design to select and furnish our home, allowing us a true turnkey arrival at the start of our season.Importantly, there were no budget surprises and Trinity maintained a “we will make it right” attitude and spirit throughout the project which helped minimize the stress on us during what can be a very stressful process.We are now at the conclusion of the project and I am happy to provide a strong recommendation for Trinity should you need their services in the Sarasota area.

Our goal was to transform a Mediterranean style home into a more modern Coastal Contemporary residence. We consulted with Trinity Construction because we were having problems with our new home builder not meeting electable on warranty repairs. Jay was able to give us some priceless insights, industry knowledge, and point out numerous problems going on during the construction. Thanks to his walk through, we were able to get our home builder warranty department to replace several things in our home that we could have missed without his expertise and knowledge. He also brought attention to some serious hazards that were going on during construction. He was straight forward and honest, which I greatly appreciated.

Thank you for a job well done Trinity Construction. Mike Cocozza (owner) and his team (Jay and Nehemiah) completed a wonderful exterior facelift on my home. The house was so sad looking. Now with the new roof line, roof, two porches, and a fresh coat of paint, she’s ready to go for another fifty years. My number one concern was that the project would lag on forever with “surprises” around each corner. This was NEVER the case. I was amazed at how quickly the project was completed and under budget! I was always kept informed with emails, calls or text messages. My second concern was that the additions would look that they were tacked on as an addition and not original to the house. I wanted the facelift to reflect the time period in terms of both design and style. Trinity Construction was 100% successful in making this dream come true.Update: When it was time for my kitchen remodel, there was NEVER any question about who I would call to complete the work. They worked quickly to interpret and execute our plans and remained incredibly responsive throughout the entire process.
