We selected JS Electrical (led by Justin Smart) to replace the backup generator and upgrade the service panels for our large home. Their proposal was prompt and thorough (they listened and gave us appropriate options), and they consistently followed-up online and in-person with us. Justin and the team scheduled and completed the work within 2 weeks as promised, and the communication was always clear around what they were doing and why, as well as during the final test and checkout. We are thrilled with our experience and new generator!

I have been working with Justin since 2019, and I cannot say enough good things about him. Justin and his team are extremely professional, punctual and very knowledgeable in his field. He is meticulous about his work and offers suggestions to address the customer’s need, which I have always found vey helpful. In addition, there is no guessing on pricing as he offers a detailed list of repairs that include pictorial representations of materials being used and job pricing so there is no pricing guessing or “by the way”. Justin connected my generator, repaired my jacuzzi (heating element and other items), installed an exhaust fan and lighting, installed motion detector lights in closets, and recently repaired a number of electrical projects in my home. I highly recommend J/S Electrical.

I purchased a Briggs and Stratton 20kw standby generator from JS Electrical. Justin and Evan arrived I time and began the installation. The job took a little over a day to complete. There was very little disruption to our power during the installation. They were well organized and really did a nice neat job running all the wires from the panel to the generator. Justin showed me how to cut the power to the generator and check the oil. I am going to have him service my generator each year. I highly recommend them.

Our kitchen was completely demolished due to a plumbing leak from an upstairs bathroom. It had been frustrating trying to get contractors to call back during these challenging times. JS Electrical returned my call promptly and provided us with a very reasonable quote. They came in and immediately installed recessed lighting first as we had no lighting in this area and were using a table lamp. Justin has been very accommodating with ensuring the work gets completed within a time line as to not impact work that was being performed by other contractors. His staff were always here as scheduled and would let me know what was happening. Justin also quickly resolved an electrical issue that occurred during the heatwave relating to the pool pump. Our condo property manager recommended J.S. Electrical to me, having used them for other large projects. We hired J.S. to do a variety of updates in our condo, including updating outlets for important needs such as our heat pump, cable/wifi booster, changing out ceiling lights to recessed lights, updating and adding more smoke and carbon monoxide detectors (he also educated us on newer laws on this as well as how they have sealed ten-year lithium batteries now), adding new outlets including one to our outdoor patio area which had no existing source, replacing outdoor light fixtures with their siding blocks. Justin was on time, accomplished the entire project in one day, took great care to clean up any mess, kept us informed of when wifi might need to be turned off at times, and was very respectful to us and our property. We introduced Justin to our immediately condo neighbor who also needed new outlets, and similar work, and he was pleased. Another condo neighbor has used J.S. for various updates in her unit and has been pleased. Finally, J.S. uses some great software that sends reminders of upcoming appointments, confirmations day of that they are en route, it handles detailed quoting, payments and more, which were appreciated. We would certainly hire J.S. Electrical again.

J.S. Electrical came out to my house in the aftermath of the recent tropical storm. My power went out but the generator did not kick in because the battery charger was bad. He did not have a charger on the truck and thought it would take two weeks for one to come in for this generator. When he went back to his facility he discovered he had a charger. He came back that evening and installed it. His facility is probably about a half hour away from my home so he went out of his way to take care of me. Because of the service i received I did not have to throw out the perishables in my refrigerator and freezer. Very grateful for the very good service.

We located knob and tubing electrical in the attic of our multi-family home. This was a safety issue. Justin came out and quoted the project letting us know he would send 2 people and it would take half a day and gave us a price. He was able to squeeze us in that week. He came out with 2 other electricians and completed the project in half a day as he stated. There was no additional charge for the additional electrician. We ran into an issue with a defective breaker that afternoon and despite being Friday Justin came out after hours and not only fixed that issue but also fixed a switch he noticed was malfunctioning. I had a relatively complicated request of installing a new 240v outlet in the closet of the carport, under pavement, and into a shared condo complex, with as little visible as possible. We also could not add new underground conduit. The total distance from the meter to the outlet was around 200ft. Justin assured me that it would be no problem, and it absolutely was no problem for them.His crew finished everything up in a couple hours, and when I took a look at the final installation it was basically unnoticeable. Definitely very happy with the work!

They arrived on time and immediately put on dust covers on their work boots prior to entering our home. Tracing the circuits out took approximately 1 hour. On completion Justin reviewed his findings with me and recommendations for any needed corrective action. He promised to have a printed panel circuit legend back to me within a week. Prior to leaving I requested Justin provide an estimate for the corrective work. Justin contacted me within a week to set up a time to stop by and drop off the panel legend and to review the corrective work estimate. The estimate provided had each item detailed for labor and materials. We were very satisfied with J.S. Electric and will use them in the fall to complete this work. Total value of work $1400.00

I have an old Generator system that was not working since I bought this house in 2020. Last year (in 2021) we finally decided to get it serviced and up running again. I initially called another company who charged me around $800 (for service charges and parts) to get it to exercise again. Two weeks later the generator stopped working again. After repeated requests, they got back to me with an estimate of few thousand dollars this time stating that they want to redo the propane piping work as the current installation is non-standard. Once they do the piping work, they will re-estimate to see what else they need to get the generator running. Despite my repeated requests they refused to stop by and triage the issue. Overall, it was a frustrating and fruitless exercise. This is when J S Electrical LLC popped up in my google search. I decided to give them a try given they has such high ratings. Frankly I was expecting them to say practically the same thing the previous company had told me. The JS team called me the day of service to confirm the schedule and their time of arrival. The team looked around and after about 30 minutes or so told me that the battery (the new one provided by the previous company) had died and a circuit was shot. They recommended that the battery and the circuit board be replaced. They told me that the propane piping was okay. An hour later they were done with replacement of the circuit and the battery. They charged me $700. All this was back 22nd November 2021. My generator exercises every Monday since then and even kicked it when we had a brief power outage. This is a very long review however I wanted to present the differences between the bad and the good. I am very happy that I found them and wish them all the best and hope they will continue to run their business with the same ethics and professionalism for many more years to come. Thank you

Luckily I called JS Electrical on a Friday and Justin came out the following Monday. He diagnosed the problem as the governor. It had been “Jimmy-rigged” with a wire to limp along. He ordered the part that came in on a Friday right before an ice storm. He came early on Saturday morning BEFORE THE STORM, and fixed the generator — all for 1/4 of the cost.
