    Super fast service. We had Steve do a complete tear out and re-install of all the duct work in our old house in 2015.The new system saves us money and runs like a champ.Very honest and accurate on bids over the phone.Several hundreds less than competitive bids and nice to work with.We are now finishing the basement again. Steve came out super quick to get the returns for the basement in place.Definitely will call again for all future HVAC needs.

    Steve and his team just finished replacing our furnace and AC. I am so incredibly happy with the results! Cannot say enough good things.Process was really easy and Steve was fantastic to work with. He sent me all the details in just the way I like it - nice charts to lay out options and from there I could pick and choose what fits my needs and my budget.Install was awesome - they did great work and made a pretty quick job of it too. Even went above and beyond and helped relocate things just a tad to save having utility wires running along my garage wall.     Had American HVAC come to look at my loud AC unit. He looked over everything and gave some good practical suggestions on what I can do. The changes were too big to do right then and there, so he didn’t even charge me. Will definitely consider using them again for a planned HVAC replacement.

    Steve was great to work with. We had a bid for our furnace and A/C, on-site inspection, and everything completely installed in less than a week. He arrived right on time to all appointments and was very thorough and detailed in the way he explained the installation process.     Our AC compressor died a few weeks ago and the heat was miserable! I called Steve on a recommendation from my wifes friend and am very happy I did. He answered on the first call and after I described our situation he explained a few options on how they could help us. The estimate was very fair, and he came out on a weekend to walk through our home and explain what would be done. They just finished the install and our house is COOL again with a much better system! He even fixed some of the shortcuts the original contractors left that were preventing the system from working its best. These guys are really good at what they do, and Im extremely satisfied with their results.

    Update 11/2/2021:I dont usually post follow-ups, but feel it is warranted in this case. We originally purchased our system in 2018, A/C and furnace. Again, Steve did a great job with the install and it looks fantastic. The system is still going strong. I have also seen many systems start to get noisier after a couple of years, but that has not been the case with the system Steve installed. We could not be happier the system, the install, and the price. We would definitely recommend that anyone looking for a new system reach out to Steve and American HVAC. He gave me a quote by phone and when he arrived the price was still the same. His price was far better than 4 other quotes for the same systems. A year later the system has been working fantastically and my heating and cooling costs have decreased dramatically. I would definitely recommend American for your heating and cooling needs.

    Our AC went out at 5pm on a hot Friday. I called a few companies and everyone was weeks out for service. I called American HVAC and Steve answered before the second ring. He told me someone would text me later that night and that they would be there the following morning. Aaron then texted me and arrived the following morning at 8am. Aaron was very helpful and knowledgeable and friendly. He diagnosed the issue, asked for my permission to proceed with the fix and the issue was resolved promptly and at a fair price.     I was looking to replace my old swamp cooler with an AC and replace my old furnace. I contacted a couple of different companies and got very different suggestions. They seemed more interested in pushing me to what they wanted to sell me instead of providing the best options for my home. I found American HVAC and talked with Steve, he provided me with great information and gave me an estimate while we were on the phone. After an on-site walkthrough, he provided me a written estimate which was significantly lower than the others I had received. They did a great job on the installation, were very professional, and installed quality products, they were very easy to work with and the final invoice was as expected no hidden costs. Everything is working great.

    After our furnace began to sound like a rocket ship launching into space, I contacted several companies to come assess and fix the problem. Steve got a technician out right away. Joel noticed a few concerns that no other company had recognized or even checked. He identified there were two major components failing on our 20 year old system. Steve came out the same day to review the needs for installation. Steve provided a great price on a well-known brand of equipment. The install went well and was as described and expected.     After buying an old house, I discovered I would have to replace the furnace and air conditioner. A contractor friend of mine said he would “hook me up” with a friend who would give me a good deal. His quote came in at $11,500… didn’t seem like such a good deal. But it was cheaper than the $14,200 quote I received from another friend’s HVAC guy. I began to think I need to find some better friends.I started calling HVAC companies. Many didn’t even return my call – apparently too busy servicing their other overcharged customers. Then I came upon American HVAC. Steve returned my call within two hours. He was at my property within two days and promptly emailed me a quote… A SAVINGS OF MORE THAN $2,800!!His installation was was fast and exactly what was promised. In fact he went above and beyond with a few extra features without charging me more. Integrity, quality work, and a great price. Pretty hard to find today… unless you talk to Steve Short at American HVAC.

    This company has wonderful customer service! When my furnace was not working I called American HVAC. Steve, the owner, came right over to take a look at it. My furnace was old and needed to be replaced. Steve was great to work with every step of the way. He went through different options with me and explained which one would be the best for the size of home I had. American HVAC has great communication with their customers. They were there when they said they would be and installed the new system in a very timely manner. Steve and his team did a great job installing the new furnace and air conditioner and the price was good too. I am really happy with American HVAC and their wonderful service.     I contacted American primarily due to all the good reviews I saw, Im glad I did! We had some other companies come in and give us quotes for a furnace and AC that both needed to replace and he came in much cheaper. The quality of the installation was top notch and the installers were very friendly and professional. I appreciated how Steve did a walk through of the house before the install to determine the best plan to get everything in so walls/furniture didnt get banged up. I also appreciate how the installers took a decent amount of time for clean-up and how knowledgeable they were with the different components of the installation/unit. We didnt have to do much after the install other than move some furniture back into place.

    My family and I are happy we decided to go with Steve after having quotes with 3 other companies. He didnt try to sell us everything he could, he was honest, hard working, and did a great job. We had him install an AC and Furnace, and when we had a small issue with the furnace not firing up on a Sunday morning he came over immediately to fix it, so that my family could be comfortable.     Steve and his crew are Awesome! Here is 4 reason why I would recommend American HVAC to anyone and why you should use them. 1) They have the best prices around.     Steve & his helper were early to their appointment. Quickly fixed our dryer. The tubing had come off the back & a bird got into our laundry room. They attached the tubing & checked on the vent outside. It needed to be replaced. Steve went & got a new vent cover so it is impossible for a bird to get into the vent. Steve was so helpful. I would recommend American HVAC to anyone who is looking for HVAC help.

    I went to American HVAC after looking at other companies for a full AC and furnace replacement. Looked at Just Right, AnyHour, Kellys, BlueBest and a few others including a family friend. None of them could beat the value that Steve at American HVAC brought. His bargain bin pricing during the slow months is the best deal in Utah from what Ive seen and I did very extensive research and got 5+ bids. Not to mention how responsive Steve is, which our family friend wasnt and Steves price was the same as our family friend but with a better furnace. So it really was a no-brainer for us. He didnt pressure me to buy a 96% variable speed furnace that you need a $500 thermostat for. In fact he told me the 2 stage is more reliable and thats what he has in his home. He couldve easily upsold me which multiple outfits tried to do and would explain how variable speed is the latest and greatest, but then Id talk to Steve and he said that variable speed is such an imperfect technology and they repair them more than the standard 2 stage furnaces. I definitely appreciated his honesty because I felt like everyone else was just trying to shmooze us.The installation went smoothly and they did a site assessment first to confirm the over-the-phone bid, then did the work a couple weeks later when we had time. Everything works great and our house feels much better with this new 96% 2 stage furnace.I will use Steve for anything we need when it comes to HVAC straight up. Hes the best Ive dealt with and my wife would agree that doing around 3-4 months of research and having all these bids that Steve was the obvious choice.

    Steve was great to work with. He was able to make a visit within hours of my calling and gave me a rough estimate on the phone, talking me through options. He was then able to start work very quickly (which the tenants appreciated). I called another company and they couldnt get someone out for a bid as quickly as Steve was able to get started on the work. Steve answered all of my questions and made the process very easy for me (we live out of state).

    Steve was very helpful and I would recommend his work to anyone. American HVAC has helped me twice now, once with an AC unit and once with a floor furnace replacement. Both times, Steve was very responsive and quick to help me with my problem. When other companies were going to have me wait days during 100 degree heat or near freezing cold, Steve was able to get me the help I needed the very day I called. For that I am very grateful. His work is clean. Finally, Steve will pick up the phone when you call. Hes great at communicating what will be done and the cost. Ill be calling American HVAC again.

    Other companies were more expensive and I didnt feel they were reasonable. I researched American HVAC and saw the reviews on this one. I was hesitant because I thought they could have been paid reviews. After deep researching everyones reviews and the company, I decided to call. Steve truly held the standard of what everyone says he would do. That includes quality work, on time and very respectful to us and my house.     Steve and his team were awesome. I got a great quote on a new furnace/ac over the phone. When Steve arrived he found that there were some problems with the duct work and another issue. He didnt raise the price, but fixed it anyways. Steve did a great job of caring for the brand new carpet in my house and making sure nothing got scratched or damaged. I was expecting a brand new furnace/ac to cost much more than it did and was pleasantly surprised with the great deal I got. Thanks Steve.

    They were great to work with! When my furnace went out, Steve was willing to come out on a Sunday and they were available to install a new furnace the next day. I had another company give an estimate, and Steves price was considerably better. He was also noticeably more knowledgeable and didnt make an uncomfortable lengthy sales pitch like the other company. To get my furnace out, a water heater had to be removed and his installers moved it and hooked it back up for me. They got everything done in a day and Steve emailed me detailed instructions including links to the websites for the rebate and warranty registration. I highly recommend them!

    Our AC stopped working last week. We called American HVAC to get a second opinion after we had someone else come out. One of his workers was at our house within an hour of calling. His price for the same repair was significantly lower. We ended up going with a brand new AC and Furnace system since our old system was over 20 years old. The owner, Steve, came out the next day to provide his recommendation and gave us a quote on the new system. We were placed on the schedule 1 week after his estimate which was super fast! Steve and his workers are very friendly and work very hard to get the job done right and quickly. If you want a great customer experience, awesome system, and an extremely fair price(a few $1000 lower than other companies) then go with American HVAC!

    When our air conditioner quit, I received estimates from four different companies. The sales people quoted packages with names like bronze or platinum out of a laminated price book. When I inquired about specific models, specifications, etc., they didn’t want to get into it.     We love American HVAC. Steve is a guy who loves what he does and he does it right! He answered all our questions, gave us a great bid compared to some of the better known companies around here, and had his team at our house within a day of our accepting the bid. Unlike some companies who just send a team to do the work, Steve is right here with his team the entire time. He works alongside them. You really feel like youre being treated right and taken care of by Steve and his crew. We had them do a complete furnace tear-out. They replaced it with a high-quality Ruud furnace. They also replaced our A/C condenser unit and coil. In our entire 20 years of living in this home, this is the FIRST time our house has truly been cool. Our previous A/C did a pretty good job of getting our smaller rooms cooled down, but the large rooms were always hot no matter what we would do and if we cranked it, it would freeze over and conk out. Weve had our new Ruud system for just about two months now and it as been heavenly! Our whole house is cool! We also asked Steve if he could add a humidifier and airscrubber to our system. In the past, when we have asked other companies about these additions, theyve all said Theres no room for it. We just accepted that as part of the problem of having a small mechanical room. Steve looked at our room, put his thinking cap on, and figured out how to make it all work. When we look at the way he fit everything into our small space, it looks so nice and neat. It looks much better and the room even feels bigger now because of how cleverly he fit everything into the available space. For the first time in 20 yrs we have a nice humidified home!     Great Experience with American HVAC. I had a couple companies come out and give me estimates on replacing an AC that was dying. The cost of the replacement was holding me back from making a decision. I came across American HVAC online and decided to get one more estimate. The estimate came in less than both the others I had received for the same equipment. Steve came out to look at our home and go over the options. Steve seems to be an honest person and I felt comfortable working with him. On the day of installation he brought a few guys with him to do the work. All of the employees who worked on our system were friendly and I felt good having them in our home.     We had American HVAC install a York 96% efficient two stage gas furnace and we could not be any happier. You cannot beat the price or the service. Scott and Brad installed our unit and were awesome! They showed up on time, were professional, friendly and fun.     It really does matter to be able to call and speak to the owner. I called to get a bid from Steve and he said he would be in the area, got to my house in a couple of hours, went through the system and gave me a verbal quote right on the spot. I called two other local contractors and after rescheduling and arriving late, both said they would email me the bid. Neither ever did, even after calling and emailing to the salesman. I had done enough research to know Steve was giving me a fair price. I called him back on Tues and he had a crew of six on Fri replacing both furnaces in just about 6 hours.     My air conditioner died on what felt as the hottest day of the year. It was a large 5 ton air conditioner and a 120K BTU furnace. I called American and talked with both John and Steve. I mean really; who insists on quality anymore? Steve does.He couldnt come that same day - passing that test - but scheduled a time with me for 3 days later. I was stunned when he called the day before to confirm. I mean who does that? Steve does.Steve showed up on time (Yes. On time) with another guy and got right to work.Steve noticed that the drain lines from the furnaces were somewhat haphazardly run across the floor of our mechanical room and asked if it would be okay if he took care of that for us as part of the humidifier installation. I asked how much hed charge and he said, No charge. I just want to make it right. Seriously?! Who does that? Steve does.So a couple of hours later, I have a top of the line humidifier and a well-organized set of PVC drain pipes.But wait, theres more...As he was leaving, Steve had his guy clean the tile in our entry way since their shoes had left a bit of a trail after a recent rain. I told him it wasnt necessary since I have several dogs whove been tracking in a lot more than these two had. But he insisted on leaving it as clean (or cleaner) than when hed arrived. Again I ask the question; who does that? Steve does.My former guy is out. Steve is my new HVAC guy and he should be yours.

    Awesome experience in getting my kitchen ready for gas range. Very professional, well versed with latests safety codes, no short cuts and clean job right on estimated time. Brian wrapped up job on time and ensured all my other appliances on gas are up n running before he left as he had to shut down main gas supply. He had to cut through dry wall and cabinet but placed closed everything after placing shutoff valve. Throughout the job I felt very comfortable right from estimate appointment to job completion.     Price is what you pay, value is what you get.Steve Short is the owner: he answers his phone, he calls you back, he emails promptly, arrives when scheduled, and completes his work on time to a precision quality.If youve been around many contractors - you know what I just said is unheard of.Fall of 2017 we purchased a home built in 1962, a long rambler with two furnaces - a small unit served the basement mother in law apartment while the main unit served the rest of the house. We contacted Steve to estimate the replacement of the smaller unit. Long story short, the duct work (which was in the slab) was too small for modern technology so we decided to go with a single new whole-house unit with a dampened zone-control to allow for multiple thermostats.Steve and I worked together on a system design, equipment needs, functionality, and desired outcomes. We went with a 4 ton York high efficiency unit with ECM, two zone (could be expanded to three) damper, and a LOT of custom duct work. He also moved the entire setup to the corner of the room from where it had been in the middle. This opened the room up to be much more usable for storage and laundry. Prior too, any normal height person would hit their head on the duct work and the door wouldnt even open all of the way.To overcome the too narrow in-slab duct work in the basement we decided to turn those vents into return air and then retrofit new overhead ducts which required going through some walls.While I was at it, I used another company (Fresh Ducts) to properly air seal those in slab ducts against dirt/air leaks.Proud to say after one full winter that everything works as intended.The zoning allows for targeted and even heat in the house, our gas bill loves the efficiency, and we were eligible for the Questar gas rebates (ended up being like $500). Your contractor has to pay attention to the approved equipment list to be eligible by the way - which Steve did.He made no guarantees on the effectiveness of turning those in-slab ducts into return air as that is not a common practice, but I told him to proceed and it worked great. My alternative was to smash through a bunch of basement walls and ceiling to add more duct work.Being an old retrofit we had some trial, error, and tuning aspects to work through, but Steve made immediate trips back to my house to make those adjustments and it was really a pleasure to work with him.A very good contractor like Steve is hard to come by, and as such he stays busy so his time is valuable. Seems like the poor reviews on here are from unreasonably budget conscious and impatient customers. For my very reasonable price I received a smooth process from start to finish, incredibly high quality custom workmanship, and top-notch equipment. I highly recommend Steve.

    Fantastic work by American HVAC. We bought a house a year ago that weirdly had no vent in the downstairs bedroom. This was no problem in the summer when the downstairs room was nice and cool but in the winter that bedroom was like a walk-in freezer.The guys at American HVAC were able to come in and add a vent to that downstairs bedroom which connected up to the main heating system.     Just bought and had installed a York YP9C 98% modulating furnace from Steve and his team (American HVAC). Saved lots of money compared to big-name HVAC companies.     Trying to get things in complete working order on my old furnace before the winter rush, I called a big name company that after a brief inspection, said this furnace was too old and the part was not made anymore. I was told three things and then offered a new furnace at an outlandish price by the supervisor that just happened to be in the area. Of course I declined.I called American HVAC. John immediately called back and spoke with me. He was willing to have me take a picture of the furnace and send the serial and model numbers to see if parts were still available. We texted several more times and set a time for him to come. He went over my furnace and said it was not the two items the other company said nor was the third thing wrong as they said. He found the problem and within 20 minutes texted me and said he found the part.He came back the next day and walked me through how the part worked as well as how and why the other two things I was previously told would not have fixed the problem if I had it done. He also said he could get into a brand new furnace for 1/4 the cost of what the other company quoted.In 20 minutes I was back on the road.a couple of weeks later I texted John who was also willing to help walk me through a simple time adjustment on my blower to work a little more how we liked it.Any cost is always hard in these days but it our cost was honest, fair and completely transparent so I knew what was going on.     Here is my story. I am a real estate developer from the East coast and my daughter has a home in S Salt Lake area. After replacing the 24v transformer and getting power to the circuit board, my thermostat still had no power. He spent the extra time trouble shooting it to the original wiring of power to the HVAC. A hot wire was on the non switched leg of the shut off switch! Same wire was bundled in a wire nut to the neutral wire for the HVAC! It was back feeding some, but not enough power, making it appear as if the circuit board had power. The bundled wire nut had also shorted out and burned through the wire nut.This goes way beyond what he could have done. The original electrician wired it wrong 19 years ago. Kudos to Steve and Raul for actually trouble shooting someone elses problem!

    I had to have my heater replaced and it was very last minute (heater stopped working over the weekend in november). the owner promptly returned my call and had heater replaced and with reasonable price in a short amount of time. i would highly recommend American HVAC to friends and family.

    American HVAC installed 2 new heaters in my recently-purchased 70 year old duplex that still had the original equipment. The work was challenging for a number of reasons: one of the heaters was in a bad place and needed to be moved; a flue needed to be installed; one of the bedrooms didn’t have a vent and needed heat routed to it; one of the heaters was larger than its enclosed space and needed to be cut out.American HVAC did the work professionally and on time. I am very happy with the results, as are the residents. They made the duplex safer and more comfortable and more energy efficient. They kept the duplex clean and left no trace of their having been there, other than their excellent work.Their pricing was competitive and their people were friendly and skilled.

    This was for a rental, so I didnt want a Cadillac system, but their prices were so good that I got the 96% efficient furnace and matching AC unit. My daughter-in-law oversaw the installation, and had only _very_ good things to say. The workers were nice to her 3 & 5 year old girls. The old 90% furnace had the pvc pipes running below the duct work, eating into the headroom. Their quote assumed they would reuse the old pvc pipes, but they put in all new pipes and ran them alongside the duct work, and even replaced the too-small-for-current-code vent pipe on the water heater, and cut its chimney pipe up higher, too! Now my son doesnt have to crouch for fear of banging his head in that room! In the end I got high-efficient equipment and a better-than-first-class installation! And great communication! Paid invoice in an email that included instructions and links to warranty registration and Dominion Energy rebate application! Awesome!!!

    Steve did great work and was quick as well. Steve communicated very well about the process and when he would come. I was impressed with all the tiny details like screwing down piping that wasnt screwed down originally or the nice filter box allowing for both one inch or four inch filters. I would highly recommend American HVAC.

    Fast and efficient, clean and friendly. Excellent warranty support to fix an ignitor that failed after 3 years. We have two furnaces and heat exchangers from these guys, and are happy with the day-night products.
