I was a member here for over 2 years, MPLS Make is the best creative environment you could ask for. Through the years it felt like a family as well as my full time job but seeing all the members create and pursue their interests is motivating so the days went by fast and the knowledge pool is infinite.Here is why you should support this shop.1. The people are all interesting, helpful and supportive.2. The variety of tools and machines make anything possible, if you want to save time and up your product time this is a great choice.3. I took the Scandinavian Knife Making class with Dan and Theo at MPLS MAKE. It was awesome!! They make you feel comfortable using tools that you’re not used to, and encourage you throughout the process. It was really fun and we all ended up with unique, beautiful knives!

Attended a Scandinavian Knifemaking class through Wounded Warriors. Immediately upon entering, Danica and Theo made us feel like family. Very comfortable environment. Both Danica and Theo are very knowledgeable and accommodating. I am looking forward to attending other classes in the future and highly recommended them to anyone.

My husband and I took the welding course and it was really great. I was a little nervous at first since I immediately thought danger, but Dan and Theo did such a great job explaining the process that I felt confident and safe. The class was informational, interesting and hands on fun! Great for a creative date night.

This was my first visit to MPLS MAKE for a welding course by Theo. I enjoyed the class, was impressed by the scope of instruction given, and appreciated the patience and guidance by the instructor. We learned about different welding machines, safety, how to use the equipment which included cutting metal, and each student was given multiple opportunities for hands on welding experience in the class. It was more than I would have imagined in a friendly and relaxed environment. I cant wait to take more classes here and explore MPLS MAKE.

Just finished the Scandinavian Knife-making class - had a great time and came away with a really cool knife! Accessible and skill-building for any level. Great opportunity to meet and build community with other makers. Theo and Danica were warm and gracious hosts/teachers. Will be back!

Took the knife class. Theo and Danica were very attentive, helpful and friendly throughout the process. I hadnt done any woodworking since high school and they helped me create a knife that I couldnt be happier with. Had a TON of fun and will definitely be taking more classes here. Highly recommended for a fun weeknight activity.

My son Quinn and I recently took a welding class at MPLS MAKE. We had no prior experience but we were interested in learning the basics. We had a great time! Theo was a knowledgeable, patient instructor. We cut, cleaned, welded, and grinded steel. They offer several other classes in other areas (woodworking, etc.) I would highly recommend MPLS MAKE..check it out!

My son and I took Theos beginner welding class last night and had a great time. We got some useful background, history & safety info and Theo had us trying our first welds within about 20 minutes. Nearly all of the time was hands-on and we got some experience cutting, grinding, welding & polishing steel. There was also a lot of focus on what NOT to do. It was shocking how much Theo was able to teach in 2 hours.

Took an intro welding class here. Theo and Dan are incredible, they teach the class giving you all the info you need to feel confident knowing what you are doing, without it getting boring. Tons of hands on, great atmosphere, plus theyll offer you a beer! Great place to learn or to run your business out of. I hope MPLS Make sees nothing but more success!!

Its my honor and pleasure to award Theo and Your Very Own Workshop as many gold stars as google allows. If you ask me, this place deserves 100 gold stars out of 5.The owner Theo, is your golden ticket to this 5-gold-star-rated wood shop. Whether you craft beautiful wooden cathedrals in your sleep, or have never held a screwdriver before, MPLS Make is the place for you. The great variety of tools are maintained and kept sharp for easy and accurate cuts.One of my favorite parts about this place is the friendly atmosphere. If theres something that you dont know how to do, Theo or any of the other lovely members would be delighted to lend a helping hand.I could write for days about the wonders of MPLS Make, but Ill refrain and leave anyone whose reading this with one piece of advice: if you thought for even a second how sweet it would be to get back into the art of woodwork, give Theo a call. Hell take you on a tour and show you all that he has to offer, which I can guarantee that its everything you need and more. 5/5 gold stars. Keep up the great work!

I found this place when looking to use a wide belt sander to flatten a desktop Im working on. Dan and Theo were great in answering my questions by email. They made the whole experience pleasant and Im very pleased with how my desktop turned out. Will definitely be back on my next project in the future!

Truly an amazing place to do woodworking.They have all the best tools for the job and keep them working as they are supposed to.Whats even better than the tools is the sense of community in the shop. All the members go out of their way to learn your name and are sure to ask you about what youre working on, while offering advice on how to approach a project in a way you may never have thought of.You might be able to buy all your own tools to match what is here, but you could never match the community and camaraderie that brings out your best work. If woodworking is an important part of your life, you owe it to yourself to join MPLS Make.

This place is a MUST VISIT! Finding MLPS MAKE saved my entire weekend. Theos Sander reconditioned over 50 4ft boards (both sides) for my Hot Tub reconditioning project in a half hour of machine time. That was only $2 per minute. And they look like new now! They have memberships, or a person who has a a need for a piece of larger equipment can use it by the minute. Just amazed at my result today with the quality, cost, and time saved. Cant recommend high enough.

24/7 access and a finishing room are what sold me. Its been a positive experience. The tools are well kept and everyone Ive met there has been great. Good food on the same block means I can park once and stay until Im ready to leave. Its worth it.

I found MPLS MAKE while looking for a bandsaw and boy did I hit the jackpot. I went from churning out very time consuming pieces on bs ryobi tools to state of the art equipment and an awesome group of people who know WAY more than I do and are very happy to help you out with whatever it is. another huge plus for me was dust collection. i get very paranoid about my lungs because i depend on them for my livelihood. No need to worry there! Once again state of the art filtration systems. I really cant think of a better place to be, I look forward to coming in whenever I can and feel like in a matter of weeks my woodworking skills themselves have improved dramatically which is all due to the community. If you are brand brand new to woodworking (which much like gyms can be slightly intimidating) or a 40+ year veteran this is the place to be; I guarantee you will be welcome with open arms. Theo is the man for opening this space. If you work with wood in any way shape or form your missing out if you are not here.

Went there to have them flatten out an epoxy river coffee table i made and Dan was awsome helped me save many hours of sanding and also squared up the table on there massive table saw was a a great experience i will deffinatly be back soon!

Went here for a welding lesson. It was directed by Theo. His instructions were simple and great. After the session I feel confident I could continue welding. Before the class I looked around the facility and it has a nice collection of high quality woodworking tools as well.

Took part in the offered knife making class with my dad and oldest son. We had a blast! Highly recommended. Dan/Theo are great instructors and great people. The progression through the knife making process was clear to follow and at the end of the event everyone in the class had amazing looking pieces. Kudos to MPLS MAKE. Thank you for creating a space for people to gather and unlock their creativity.

This is one of the best makerspaces I have ever been too. Granted I have not seen everything they offer, but I have a couple other places to compare them too. I used their wide-belt sander to flatten an end grain cutting board and not only did it take 5 minutes, but it only took off about 3/32 in total, not to mention leaving a wonderful finish. If you need to use any of their services, need not ponder, it is worth it considering I drove an hour to get there. I will definitely be considering a membership in the future.

Dan and some other guy there was really helpful. Had a big slab width too large for normal planers, but they still helped me to figure out a solution and got it done. Very affordable rate for the planing service. Couldnt be more happy with the results. By the way, my slab was warped, bowed, cracked before I brought it in, now its flat as can be.

What an incredible resource for the community! Theo, owner, helped me joint and plane my white ash boards for my desk project. Here even let me borrow a few bar clamps overnight for my glue up. Very reasonable rates for both non members and members
