HD was one of three companies that I received a quote for my project and must say they were not the cheapest. However.... I truly believe you-get-what-you-pay-for. I am happy to say HD Exteriors is a top-notch company and the end result was well worth the $. Communication is awesome, quality materials and they pay attention to the most minute details. From sales to installation, the entire process was seamless! I absolutely LOVE my enclosed porch!! Would highly recommend HD for your next exterior project!

We are very pleased with our deck!! The HD Exteriors crew were very nice and respectfully whole time and did an amazing job building the deck. They built it in less than two weeks with rain almost everyday, (Beast Mode!). Can’t wait to do another exterior project with their services again. 100% one of the best experiences we have ever had with a company. Only thing that would have been nice is to have the staining done but we understand that they don’t provide that service and they are upfront about that so no worries. Thanks again for the amazing deck!!!

HD exterior was with us all the way through the deck planning and building process, to include HOA approval, materials, delivery, and completion. We have had a lot of work done over the years and this is easily the most transparent and efficient contracting process we’ve ever experienced. They may not be the cheapest, but it is more than worth the premium to get the job done right and have them take care of all the approvals and permits - and they have the best warranty we’ve seen.

We’re very pleased with our deck and porch. Our initial meeting with Adam Van House got us to where we needed to be financially without compromising on what was important to us. Project manager Charles and his crew did an excellent job. The workmanship was outstanding and workers very polite and courteous. Excellent company, sales and service. The entire staff was excellent. We were kept informed each step along the way. They were very professional and knowledgeable and made sure the entire process from start to finish was painless. Loving our new deck is an understatement! HD responded timely to our interest request , gave us several options with competitive pricing. Took care of permitting and prep work. Started within a week of all documents being obtained. On-site crew was so efficient, kind and left a clean worksite! They finished in one week. Will definitely have them back again to do some more projects! Highly recommend!

We decided to go with HD Exteriors even though their estimate was higher than another company. We took a chance on them because they seemed very well organized, had a better warranty and better overall sales presentation. Graham Jr. was easy to communicate with and also suggested other ideas which we had not thought about—such as a different orientation for the stairs, and bringing the deck height even with our patio door.Special thanks to the team of Nelson, Pedro and their crew. They worked hard building the deck, digging those post holes in our hard clay soil, and answering our questions. They were very professional. Eric, who was project coordinator in the office, also answered our questions by phone and text. Additionally, the admin people were very friendly and responsive. Christian checked in at the beginning of the deck framing and later towards the end—also friendly and responsive to our questions. We were very pleased with the staff!Our deck was a simple 12x14 deck and we are extremely pleased with the outcome after years of looking at an aged ugly wood deck. We went with the Dekorator brand of decking and Trex railing. There were no issues with final inspection.

We hired HD to build us a new deck with a screened in porch underneath. We couldnt be happier with the result and working with HD. The process was smooth and they were communicative throughout. The entire staff was professional and courteous to include the estimator, office staff, guys actually building the deck and the project managers that would stop by. Even the owner Graham stopped by to check on the project. This is a great family owned business and I highly recommend them!

We hired HD Exteriors to build a screened porch on our small brick rambler. We met with Corey from the design team initially. Out of all the quotes we received, we appreciated Coreys clear vision and design option. Mike was our foreman. He was responsive to our questions and concerns. The office staff and other crew members - electrician, roofers, etc. - were also good, professional, and on time. But the best out of all were our two assigned workers - Jose & Oscar - who basically removed and built the porch from the ground up. They came in the cold, wind, and rain and worked tirelessly on the job. We were amazed at how efficient they were. The porch itself is more beautiful than we expected. Hire this company; they do know what they are doing. The county inspector even commented more than once that they do high quality work.

HD recently completed a deck demolition and replacement for us, and they hit it out of the park. Every facet of the experience, from communications (especially with our project manager, Jai Sawyack...congratulations on the birth of your baby), to design and selection of materials (with Dustin Spencer...we went with DecKorators and Trex), to pulling permits, to delivery of materials, to demolition of our old wooden deck and removal of refuse, to installation and inspection of footers to building of the new deck, to final inspection and walk-through (with Tom), was seamless and worry free. Our crew, headed by Lester, and his team of Elio, Juan, Jose, and others whose names I cannot remember, were polite, efficient, responsive to questions and requests, flexible in accommodating some last minute changes, were highly skilled, extremely hard-working, and cleaned up the site of tools and materials each day at the close of work. It was a pleasure having these professionals at our house each day during the duration of the project. This was a great experience, we are very happy with the outcome, both appearance and quality, and look forward to enjoying it for years to come. We strongly recommend HD Exteriors for your new deck installation. Great people, great company!!!

My family and I can’t recommend HD Exteriors enough.Our old deck was builder grade, falling apart, and not the safest. We contacted HD Exteriors July 2022 and they sent their sales representative, Corey Robertson, out a few days later. Corey was excellent – patient, a wealth of knowledge, and so personable. He took measurements, listened to what we wanted, then spent about two hours discussing our options. We decided to have our old deck removed, a new composite deck built, and under the deck a stone paver patio with a retaining wall built. We knew that this was not going to be a cheap or easy job, but it was one we had been saving up for and knew that it needed to be done and done correctly. Corey helped us make adjustments according to our budget, our expectations, and even took into account supply chain issues.When finished, we put down a deposit, told our project was understandably about 120 days out, and that the office would be in touch with us to handle HOA approval and building Permits. We were contacted the very next day by the President of HD Exteriors thanking us for our business, and a few days after by the HOA Team with a 40-page packet of all required information to submit to our HOA for approval of our deck build. Many contractors do not do this step, usually it’s up to the home owner and that’s not the case with HD Exteriors. Our HOA approved our application right away and we were waiting until November 2022 to start our project, but instead we were pleasantly surprised.Middle of August 2022 we were contacted by HD Exteriors that our permits were filed and approved, and all of our materials were available so they were ready to start our project by the last week of August. This was such great news, and from there it was a whirlwind of activity. While at times it seemed a little overwhelming, we had nothing but open communication with management. Everything from when our supplies were going to be delivered to walk thru times. We also had all the contact information for our project managers and could reach out to them with any questions. HD Exteriors helped us every step of the way, and our final product was beyond our expectations.Great communication, delivered early and with very impressive results. Can’t recommend enough. 10 out of 10!

We had a couple of stutter steps getting started with our project, but everyone at HD Exteriors was very responsive and professional. We never had any issues with reaching customers service and our concerns were addressed right away…and to our satisfaction. The end result is beautiful Trex decking and we couldn’t be happier with our decision to go with HD Exteriors.We will used HD Exteriors again, should the need arise.

Our new bluestone patio is gorgeous—the pictures don’t do it justice. Not only is it perfectly installed, but it was designed to exactly fit the space and compliment the style of our 110 year old Queen Anne house. From the guy who did the estimate, to the office staff, to the project manager, to the carpentry crew to the stone masons, every person on the HD team was super—skilled and professional. Also, everything happened on time and on schedule. I would definitely hire them again.

HD was professional, transparent, and accommodating. We had a new fence and patio pavers installed. HD made a reasonable price match when we provided previous quotes for similar work. The installation crew and manager were on time, diligent, and flexible. Corrections were made regarding a gate latch promptly and without issues. There were some precision/quality areas we decided not to address, as they did not take away from the overall quality of the end product. We would recommend HD Exteriors to family and friends.

The only reason I did not give 5 stars was because there were some issues that came up but they were quick to resolve them. They definitely stand behind their work and make everything right. When youre looking to update your deck you should consider HDExteriors . They gave me an estimate and design of my deck in a safe manner during this pandemic. They processed the permit, HOA, and miss utility with no issues. The communicated with me with delays of the lumber because of supply chains was affected by covid-19. When the lumber was delivered the HD crew did the job in a efficient and professional manner. They even covered the cost of the verizon fiber line when it was cut by accident during the install. I would defiantly go with them again if there is any future deck projects in my future.

Deck Project. Project initiated 6/2021 - Project completed 9/2021. I chose HD Exteriors based on the excellent online reviews and their BBB standing. I was not disappointed - my deck is beautiful. The company handled the approval from my HOA and the city permits which was incredibly helpful! There were a few hiccups with the initial measurements and pricing (I asked several times about the addendum once the measurements were corrected, but I didnt get the actual price tag until the end of the project - admittedly, that was a bit frustrating). Also, after the deck passed inspection - there was no follow-up from the company to let you know your project is officially completed. That said, the guys that built the deck were fantastic! They arrived early; they were friendly, hardworking and efficient (the actual build took less than a week). They even cleaned the street of debris behind my property!! On the administrative side - everyone I spoke with from the initial sale to the financing were genuinely nice and responsive (the progress emails are a nice touch). Understanding no project is perfect and there are going to be hiccups - HD Exteriors did a wonderful job; Im very pleased. I look forward to using this company for future projects.

HD Exteriors did a great job on my deck replacement project, from the planning and design to the finished deck. I signed the contract in early December, and they took care of all the permits and HOA approvals. As soon as the weather turned warmer in March they started the demolition and continued working every day until the project was completed. In several areas they did more than the contract or code required such as adding weather protection to posts and the tops of beams. We’re very happy with how the new deck looks.

HD Exteriors replaced our deck (165 sq feet) with composite materials and replaced the entire backyard with a brushed concrete patio for our town house in Lake Ridge, VA. They did an absolutely amazing job; we could not be happier with the result!Our Home Owners Assoc can be difficult to work with, but HD Exteriors submission was so thorough and so professionally done that the process was actually a pleasure. I cant state this part enough, the package had detailed architectural drawings, land plat, permits, material descriptions, color palettes and pictures.The guys who actually did the hands on work not only knew what they were doing, but they did it with pride. As one worker said, your fence isnt straight but your new patio is. We also discussed options like would you like to add a step here and that made a huge difference. I feel like there were no shortcuts and nothing sacrificed in order to get done and get out. In fact, that started early and worked late most every day.Last thing I wanted to mention was the office. I always knew what was going on every step of the way. Most questions were handled with a quick text message, and I loved that. They also have a customer web portal and use electronic signatures, which made reviewing documents convenient.I highly recommend HD Exteriors. HD Exteriors resurfaced my 20 x 14 deck with Timbertech composite wood. Graham Perry made very helpful suggestions regarding “picture framing” the deck surface and adding a “picture framed” privacy panel on one side. The carpenters did a good job building a sturdy deck and removed all trash. It took a little longer than the original 3-day estimate but the final product is a very nice and well built composite deck! The support from their office staff was also excellent.

We just had a new deck installed by HD Exteriors. The entire process was superior and we loved our new deck. The salesperson, Jeremiah, was very knowledgeable and professional. He showed us the samples and deck design so we could decide. The design team did all the submittals to HOA and county for the permit. The work started within a month after we sign the contract and finished within a week. The installation crew did a good job despite some delivery problems. Overall I would give this company an excellent rating and would recommend to anyone.

Before reading this review, please know that my expectations for any work done at our property will always be very strict and inflexible. Coming from a US Marine and LEO, can’t expect anything less, but our experience with HD was very pleasant and satisfying. I will always recommend this family business. I only wish I had known about their professionalism and quality of work before I had another company doing the siding prior to their work. HD Exteriors stayed on top of everything from the very beginning of the project until I gave my final and personal revision. We invested in our deck, and it is now a great appeal to our property. Besides adding more value to it, our neighbors love seeing it, but these satisfying results only came because of the dedication of all the HD staff involved: the electrician, the foreman, the inspector, the builder and his crew, the administrative people, etc., even the County Inspector was marveled to the completed work. HD Exteriors will not rest until HD gets the final satisfaction of its customers. Please don’t cheat yourselves; there are so many contractors (like wolves) who will promise you the same results at a cheaper price. I promise you will not go wrong with HD, and you will not get stressed by the unexpected issues any project may bring (HOA, County, workers, neighbors, etc.) they will take care of everything for you.Thank you guys, every HD Exteriors person involved in our project made this project appear as a piece of cake, even though we can reminisce on those delays caused by HOA, County, and my own preferences.

The delivery around the holidays added some additional delays to the project as it includes scheduling different crews for a couple of different linked projects. Highly recommend HD exteriors. From start to finish, the team was exceptional. Jeremiah was great in our planning sessions and, honestly, was a big part of why we went with HD exteriors. Knowledgeable, polite and informative. He wasnt pushy at all which took the pressure off--in fact I went almost a year from first contact to signing our contract and we picked up right where we started. I did compare prices with several others and there price was reasonable compared to everyone else, certainly no the most expensive. The site and installation team were equally good--always on time, were here when they said they would be and cleaned up at the end of each day and when they were finished with the projecdt. The deck looks fantastic and we couldnt be happier with how it turned out.

I recently contacted HD Exteriors to install a new deck and patio in the back of my house. They did a fantastic job on both the deck and new patio below! Their stone work is amazing and the deck looks better than I imagined. We did have a little issue with the deck due to an incorrect measurement that did not get caught until the deck was started, but after I spoke to Tom and explained what happened he had the guys come back out a fix the issue free of charge. Now I couldnt be happier! I would definitely recommend HD Exteriors and would hire them again in a heartbeat! Thanks for a job well done!

HD Exteriors built a gorgeous deck for us in August. We had an amazing experience from start to finish.Our salesperson, Corey, is so friendly and sat with us as long as we needed and explained all of our options and gave us great and honest advice. Financing was easy and their team handled all of the permits and documentation.The crew and the foreman were excellent as well. Very responsive when we had questions or concerns, respectful of our property and keeping things neat, and worked quickly, efficiently and diligently. After the deck was finished, they had a great electrician come to add an outlet for us, and he was knowledgeable and willing to add a second outlet at the last minute when we decided we wanted it. Our inspection went smoothly, and a few weeks after our project was finished, HD sent someone out to make sure we were happy with our new deck and that we didnt have any concerns.Our experience was great from start to finish! We are so happy with our new deck, it turned out even better than we could have hoped. I would highly recommend HD Exteriors and we will definitely use them again for any future projects we might have!

I met with HD Exteriors to obtain a quote to replace my wooden deck. The deck is 21 x 24 - so, its rather large and I knew that it would be a costly project. HD Exteriors handles EVERYTHING! HOA submission and approval, permits, inspections, materials delivery...but, whats even better, I received texts and emails every step of they way. I did not need to call them to ask the status of anything. They scheduled the date/time to start the project and the workers were there 30 minutes early! When they said they would be on site - they were. I have had a lot of work done on my house over the years and have had both good and bad experiences. I am happy to say that this has been the best experience ever! The crew that does the work is incredibly hardworking, kind and friendly. What is even more impressive is that they completed the project in record time - and the end result is beautiful.

Working with HD Exteriors has been great and I highly recommend them for your outdoor projects. We chose them to build out a porch and patio for us and they were the best when it came to pricing. Luckily for us, the competitive price did not mean a lower quality, as we have been very satisfied with the top notch craftsmanship they provided. Starting from the design process, Corey did a great job of listening to what we wanted and envisioning a design we were happy with. Even after the contract was finalized, they were great when it came to requests and any modifications we wanted. I think we went through at least 3 major design changes with them and they were accommodating each time. Communication with the front office was easy as they had an automated system to let you know where you are in the process and helped you to schedule the next steps. The workers were very professional and courteous also, cleaning up the site after every night. When we pointed out issues are things we did not like, the whole team was quick to respond and make the fixes/updates. I would not hesitate to go with HD Exteriors again for future projects and recommend them to anyone looking to build a porch, patio, or deck.

Just like other reviewers, we will definitely be writing another review or updating this one after the work on the patio starts and is completed, which is over a month from now. In the meantime, it is important to give credit to and commend HD personnel that are not part of the building crew. Dustin, a Design Consultant, came to our house for the first time on a Saturday afternoon and spent 3 hours with us. He was on time, knowledgeable, respectful, and extremely patient; he answered all our questions and concerns and gave us the impression that he is not just out to make a deal for his employer, but actually cares about the company. My husband and I have had many projects done with contractors but we have never agreed to any proposal on the spot and without sleeping on it. Dustins attitude, clear, and honest opinion, as well as his dedication, made this a first for us! Dustin is an asset to the company and we hope that his work ethic is a reflection of HD Exteriors and that our update on the patio is as positive as our experience with him and this review.

From start to finish, our patio project with HD Exteriors couldnt have gotten more smoothly. We first spoke with Austin and he helped tailor our project to meet a target price that worked for our budget. We had other companies come by, spend about 10 minutes taking measurements and giving us a quote but the way in which Austin took his time to explain the ins and outs and came to an agreement made all of the difference. We were consistently informed via auto-generated messages as well as direct emails about the project status. We got to meet with the project managers and went over the work being conducted. The installation crew showed up on time and knocked out the entire project in just under 2 days. Overall they did a great job and were really pleased with our new deck and fence. Their customer service was excellent. Its above and beyond what we had before. When we called for a quote they were prompt in scheduling and Graham came out as scheduled to give us a quote. They worked within our budget and gave us options we hadnt considered, like using black aluminum rails instead of wood, which looks really nice and will last a long time. The deck was completed quickly and the guys who built it did a great job. Two different guys completed our fence and lattice work under the deck, and I feel they rushed the job. There were few things I pointed out and they quickly addressed those issues, but now that its been completed for a few weeks there are little things Im noticing about the quality of the fence construction that Im not thrilled about. Im also picky, it may not be things that stand out to others. Overall were happy, just some details that I feel could be better. I would recommend them to others.

COULD NOT RECOMMEND THESE GUYS MORE!!! Boy did they help me out. My patio was in rough shape - it that flooded, was multi-level, and put together with cinder block. It also came with a surprise mega tree stump. These guys were not only able to remove the stump (extremely carefully might I add), but were able to build an invisible retention wall, level the patio, and redirect our water spout so that it no longer floods. They also came up with an ingenious solution for our death-trap steps without having to rebuild them or have them extend into the middle of the patio. I am so excited to have a usable outdoor space to entertain, lounge, and let my pup sit out in. The quality for the price, professionalism, and overall care of our patio is unbeatable. I will be recommending these guys to anyone who ever needs their patio done.

The deck looks nice. They struggled to get the lights working, but after weeks of trying they got them all to work and they look good. They simply could not clean up the nails and screws left all over and around the deck and driveway despite numerous attempts to tell them to clean up. One screw ended up in my car tire and many others can be seen between deck planks. I even pointed out the screws and nails to the project manager during the final walk-through. I showed him one that was sticking up posing a serious safety problem. Instead of picking it up himself he said he would get a crew to clean it up. That pretty much says it all. Many of the screws are still loose between the planks.

We recently had some work done by HD Exteriors, specifically having our deck re-planked, new staircase built to code, new rails and a small extension for a shed. They knocked it out of the park. They went above and beyond to work with the county (PWC) to get us a new and accurate PLATT for the property and sending the required documentation to our HOA for the project. They were very good at telling us where they were in the process and kept us up to date on the progress up to actual project start day as well as continuing communication throughout the completion of the project. We got on the schedule right away, and the project was done in a week, (but would have been faster if not for two rain out days). I would 100% recommend HD Exteriors to work on your project if you are thinking about doing some fix it’s to your deck or outdoor space.

Working with HD Exteriors was a breeze, from the first meeting with our designer, Dustin Spencer, we knew we wanted to work with the company. After doing some follow up with neighbors, our decision to go with HD was cemented. We considered other companies who built a similar product to what we wanted, but the experience just wasnt there.HD handled everything from the HOA application (neighbor signatures were gathered by us, the homeowner), county application, inspection etc. Status emails were sent regarding the delivery of materials and when work would start. The timeframe in which these emails are sent could be improved or adjusted if the schedule changes. The payment system showed the payment schedule at the allotted time frames during the project (start, % complete, complete). I do wish there were email reminders for this portion as the project progressed but nonetheless, payment was made.Once the project was completed, the crew cleaned up and removed signs and trash.Getting a custom colored railing to complement the color of our home was key and HD was able to deliver. The quality of the work really does speaks for itself.Im excited to decorate and get ready to enjoy the outdoor space.
