I cannot thank Mark enough for coming to my rescue when another company (Ace Plumbing) in Brookfield left me in a bind. After Ace Plumbing attempted to clear my sewer line using their fancy overpriced hydrojetter (3 times more than Mark’s price), they left me with a still-clogged sewer line full of tree roots. This was after assuring me that their hydrojetter was superior to a rodder and their work was 100% guaranteed. The second time Ace came out (under warranty) they told me I needed a full replacement of the pipe which was many, many thousands of dollars and Ace Plumbing told me they couldnt clear the clog. In my frustration and desperation, I called Mark, and I’m so glad I did.Mark showed up promptly, assessed the situation with professionalism, and got straight to work. Unlike Ace Plumbing, Mark took the time to understand the root of the problem (literally!) and used the right tools and techniques to clear the blockage thoroughly. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and did an excellent job explaining what had gone wrong before he got there. Having the right equipment and knowing how to use it is everything in plumbing. After hiring Mark, Ill never look for another plumber again. He was very pleasant to deal with from the very first phone call, all the way up until the job was finished. I reached out to Mark to fix the tub drain and not only did he do a phenomenal job at that, he wound up fixing my faucet issue as well. He was very knowledgeable and cared about our concerns. His price was beyond reasonable and he didnt try to sell us any service or products we didnt need. Very quick, but thorough and quality work. He has a 5 star rating for a reason. Mark is simply said, incredible!! We moved into our new house and had an issue with our home being backed up after a few toilet flushes and a lot of snow melting. Mark was able to show up within 30 minutes of requesting his services and he came back early in the morning (despite a snow storm) & he helped clear the roots out of our old clay pipes. His prices are reasonable, and he was professional and helpful! I could not recommend his services highly enough!!

I called Mark at 11:30 am and he was at my house 3 hours later. The drain cleaning he was to perform was estimated at $145. When he arrived and performed the cleaning, he said that it was less work than he had expected, and charged my $65. This is not the first time Ive had Mark do work at my home. He previously installed two faucets, cleaned out a drain, and repaired a toilet. All the work was done professionally and at a reasonable cost. I would definitely recommend Mark to anyone needing plumbing services.

Ive had Mark come out a few times for both routine maintenance and unexpected repair work, and I found him to be very knowledegable, straightforward, and trustworthy.He was able to present multiple along with his recommendation on benefits or drawbacks of each. He made sure he fully assessed our issue, which ended up involving multiple trips out, and ultimately pivoting to a new solution. He deifnately takes pride in his work and it shows.His work was top notch, and he was always prompt, polite, and the price was fair. I would highly recommend him to anyone looking for quality work.

I saw some sketchy work done at a client’s house I was working withI called 4 Plumbing companies asking about csst gas line codesThe other three I called are located fairly close to this location. I don’t want to blast them so I’m not going to add their information. They only had secretaries to answer the phone. Which there’s nothing wrong with that, however the information that the secretaries had was kind of concerning. They basically told me that they know nothing that the gentleman who has all the info is out for the day that he could reach out to me tomorrow. I went as far to asking about copper gas lines to see how little they knew and shockingly. They couldn’t tell me if they were approved or not for running gas. Like I am not even joking about the other locations. I forgot who I spoke to I am assuming it was mark at this location. I explained that I was mainly looking for info and that if he was knowledgeable I would recommend him. He spent some time on the phone with me giving me his professional opinions. Considering he is a one man army he was not even trying to rush me off the phone. Really surprised on how well he carried himself most companies just want to take your money and run and have no time to chatI would recommend him he actually cares

Had the toilet back-up. Tried rodding it, and things became worse if that is possible.Too graphic to explainThe house smelled, my kids were screaming, my wife was upset. Holy cow it wasn’t fun.Called Mark as soon as 7am hit as that was his office hours. He responded via text within a min and texted me a rough cost estimate based on my description. Which I felt was very reasonable.He was at my place bright and early at 8:30am. Mark was friendly and willing to get his hands dirty. Like his approach of trying the simple solutions first. Thankfully it worked.Great plumber. Excellent communication. Punctual. What more can a person ask for. Will definitely call him the next time I need plumbing work done.

We have used Mark Kolecke Plumbing for a few years. They are very honest, responsive and trustworthy. Last week, Mark came to fix our upstairs shower and to unclog the drain in our laundry room.The pipes in our main shower are original to the house and are very old. There was almost no pressure on the hot side while the pressure on the cold side was great. Mark told us what he needed to do, his best guess on time to complete it and what it would cost to fix.Not only did he finish and cleanup quicker than he said, he came in under his estimate and the pressure that we now have on hot and cold is the best it has ever been. Now, we will be able to get some extra miles on the old pipes😊As for the basement drain, he was able to quickly fix and cleanup, so we could get back to doing the laundry.Plumbing can be very expensive, so you need to be able to trust the people who do the work and come into your home with your family. I would highly recommend Mark Kolecke Plumbing.

Mark was knowledgeable, skilled, honest, and reliable. We had a backup situation with poor sewer drainage. I called many plumbers for opinions and chose Mar. Mark was confident he could rod it - he has excellent rodding equipment he built himself. It did the job on our long, root-filled sewer line. He quoted a price, and did exactly what he said he would do - no surprises. We have since used him a couple additional times for smaller jobs, for which he has been fair and reliable.

Mark and his colleague are amazing! We just moved into our house and 3 weeks later we had a main drain leaking in our basement. Mark and his partner arrived promptly in the morning and got to work investigating where the problem was and how to solve it. We had a clog in our main sewer that they rodded. Mark is friendly, professional and made sure to educate us on everything he was doing throughout the entire morning. He ended up fixing our outside hose valve too. His prices are very fair! He will be our go-to plumber from now on.

There are not enough great things I can say about Mark Kolecke and his company. Mark is honest, responsive, and does things the right way the first time. We have used mark 3 times now on different properties, twice in an emergency, and he always finds a way to fit us in and never takes advantage of us. He evaluates the situation, tells you what needs to be fixed, and does the work in a timely fashion without over charging - Im always conditioned to think their are no home service professionals who really care about customer service and repeat business. Had Mark out on a Saturday morning to repair an air pressure assisted toilet that had stopped flushing. When he showed up it was clear he was a professional. He was patient and actually had to disassemble the entire unit to get it to function properly again. The best part is I had another plumber by the day before and all he did was look at it briefly and tell me I needed a new toilet! In fact a I had called a couple other plumbers and they wouldnt even bother to come look at it, I kept hearing it needed to be replaced. But Mark was able to come out and get it working properly. He did great work and I would absolutely use his company again.

I called Mark Kolecke Plumbing in November, to quote for a problem in my basement. By others, I had been led to believe it would be a an expensive & major problem to correct. Marks solution was less invasive & more reasonable than any other firm. He and his helper Bill showed up twodays later, on time and not only completed the job, in record time, but looked over other connections that might cause future problems.Mark is thorough, honest and reasonable, these traits are hard to find in Tradesmen nowadays.This week 1-9-18 started out with no hot water and again Mark came to my aid. If theres an award for Plumbers of the Year, he certainly deserves it.

A couple years ago, we were in need of a basement flood-control system. Most of the plumbers we spoke with wanted to install a check-valve system, and felt that it wasn’t even really possible to install a less-expensive modified overhead sewer at our property, most likely due to some “extra work” it required. Mark, however, didn’t see the so-called “extra work” as extra work. He just saw it as what was necessary to provide the best solution to our basement-flooding issue. We saved a lot of money with Mark.Mark’s been doing great work for us for a few years now. We’ve had him in for a few other, smaller issues, all of which have been fixed in a timely manner. His prices are always very fair. His estimates -- in my case -- have always been better than the competition’s. He’s an honest, friendly, professional plumber.

Just had great service by Mark. A previous long term plumber had told me I needed my yard dug up for a collapsed waste line. Pawned me off for a year, never showed up, Mark came out with a very short period, looked over the situation, jetted out my lines only to find no collapses at all, just roots. Weve lived in our 95 year old house for 16 years and had a LOT of fun plumbing problems and been through a LOT of plumbers. I found Mark Kolecke as a referral from Algor on Cermak. Mark is the first guy we have called back more than once (three times so far) for unrelated plumbing issues and we will absolutely call him back for any future issues. He is now our yearly main sewer drain maintenance guy (the tree in front of our house likes to grow roots into the main pipe under the house and cause spring flooding). I dont mean to yell, but HE KNOWS WHAT HES DOING!!...and he doesnt charge like we live in Beverly Hills...but like we live on the Southwest side of Chicago and work for a living. In our experience, hes very reasonable and doesnt inflate for a little extra elbow grease (sometimes its a lot of extra elbow grease). Very reliable, here when he says hes going to be here. Super nice guy that understands the urgency of his work (its not cool being without a bathroom sink or getting six inches of water in your basement every time someone showers)...and for us, it helps that he has a great sense of humor to ease some of the pain caused by our plumbing issues. We have him listed in our phones as Plumber Great. Wed give him more stars if they were available. Give him a call.
