We recently moved into a house that already had a generator, and we wanted to learn how it worked and make sure it was working well and up to date. After I called a few companies, Provident was the most responsive, and was able to send Chris the next day. He and his helped took care of the maintenance, then took the time to full explain the system, how it worked, and what we needed to know about the generator, transfer switch, load shedding devices, etc. Very good service, and highly recommended!

Larry gave me a very good price on my 24kw system. The install went very good. The gas company came out and gave me a brand new meter to accommodate this generator. All the gas plumbing looks great. Everything passed inspection when the county came out. I’ll be using Larry in the future for possibly a level two charger for a future electric vehicle.Thank you, Larry.

5-Stars isnt enough!!! This is an outstanding company from initial quote until work is complete! We had a generator installed and have been very impressed with every aspect of doing business with Provident Electric. The office staff is pleasant and professional. The technicians arrived on time as scheduled. They are very knowledgeable and provided exceptional service. Dave and Chris did a great job on our installation. The work was beautifully done (wiring very neatly run along our house). All is up and running now and we are very pleased! I would highly recommend doing business with this company!

Have been using Provident for years and love their service. Always friendly, professional and polite. On a Friday night one of our GFI shut off and wouldn’t reset. Concerned, I called Provident on a Saturday to find out how much emergency service would cost. Larry, the owner, called back immediately and had me send pictures since he thought it might be a simple fix. He was able to help me get electricity working and I avoided the expense of an emergency call. Have used other companies years ago but was never happy with service until I started using Provident Electric. Have used them for 10+ years and will never use another electrician.

Having gotten quotes from other GOOGLE 5-star vendors in my area, Provident proved to be the BEST OF THE BEST! From initial project estimate and consultation to installation; every step of the process was exceptional. The estimate provided by Larry was comprehensive; he BOTH reviewed overall power usage/needs by walking my property AND by speaking with my wife and I about our project goals and daily power use. I received a MUCH BETTER quote than other (5-star) vendors and even got a MORE POWERFUL generator than the others said I needed...YET THE OVERALL PRICE WAS LESS!! Our generator was ordered and arrived much quicker than we could have expected. The installation team called ahead and arrived on-time during BOTH days of the installation. They kept us abreast of the installation plan and daily progress. They made us feel VERY comfortable with the equipment that was installed and easily answered all of our questions. Professionalism, expertise and genuine care for the customer is a rarity in business. When you find it...you are super appreciative. We certainly are grateful to Provident for an entirely positive experience. Well done!

In mid December I was in need of an electrician to resolve some electrical issues. After reading reviews on Provident Electric, I decided to give them a try. It turned out to be an excellent decision. Provident responded quickly even while being short-handed. Chris, the Service Manager, responded to my house to fill in due to the unforeseen circumstances. In addition, to resolve the issues a second visit was required. Chris again responded and brought three others to make sure my problem was handled thoroughly and completely. Chris, Jess and the others did a great job. They made me feel like my issue was their highest priority and didnt leave until they were completely satisfied it was fully resolved. They cleaned up after themselves and the price was very fair.. They will be on the top of my list if I am ever in need of an electrician in the future. I cant recommend them highly enough.

My wife and I needed to get some work done at our house prior to a party were having in the near future. We contacted Provident Electric explaining we were on a tight schedule and needed to get the job done quickly. Larry came out to listen to our needs and then made suggestions that we hadnt even thought about. He and his staff showed up on the day and the time he promised, worked professionally, efficiently and cleaned up at the completion of the job. I would recommend the company to all! This was my first experience with Provident Electric but I felt that I have been their client for years. Thanks to Larry and his staff!!!

Provident Electric was great! We have used a few electricians in the area but I dont anticipate well ever need another electrician other than Provident. We should have just called them first. Their guys are professional, fast, and come on time (weve had Justin, Ray, and Chris, over the course of a few visits). They dont upsell you on anything but dont leave you without vital information to make decisions with either. Chris definitely had some good recommendations for ways we could improve our house with a whole-home surge protector which we are very pleased with.They are affordable and straightforward on their charges. We waited weeks for estimates (!!) from another company but had an estimate for work within the day from Provident. All the electricians are clearly well-versed in a variety of issues and all three guys weve used have been confident and efficient. We had one of those issues which should have been simple at first glance but ended up being complicated once the wall was opened up, and Justin handled everything in stride. He fixed some of the previous homeowners DIY mistakes and did so quickly and without fuss. I have recommended Provident to everyone in the area and will continue to call them for all our electrical needs.

I had no heat because the breaker controlling my unit went bad. After calling many places only to be greeted by an answering machine, or being told they couldnt fit me in for several days, I stumbled onto Provident. I was greeted by a friendly voice, who checked the schedule to see how they get could me worked in that same day. The electricians arrived, got right to work, explained what they were doing and were very friendly. I highly recommend them. The prices are very affordable. Several years ago I had to have a breaker replaced, and although there was an after hours charge, the same work was 4 times the amount that Provident charged.

Amazing customer service and superior quality of work! I cant say enough good things about Larry and Provident Electric. I called at 4:00 pm with my fingers crossed to fix a pendant light before my house went on the market the next morning. Larry came at 6:30 pm and determined that he needed to take the fixture to the shop to repair. He called me at 8:00 in the morning and said he was able to repair it and brought it over within the hour. Amazing!

Just had an amazing experience with Provident Electric yesterday! They were tasked with installing a chandelier in our two story living room. PE put together the chandelier, installed it in the ceiling, and when they realized that a few lights were broken in the shipment they went to home depot to buy more lights. They arrived at 8:15am and left by 12:15pm. It was amazing. They will be wiring and installing a lot more for us in the future!

He solved the problem and thoroughly checked everything over for safety. Pricing was excellent and I am incredibly happy with the experience. I had never used Provident before, but I will certainly be calling them the next time I need any electrical work done.

OK.. this was my first experience using Provident Electric and I now know why they have been voted Fredericks Best ( Frederick Magazine ). I had contact with them before, once when the owner Larry came out and gave me a great estimate on a generator which I am buying as soon as possible, and the other when I had an electrical problem that magically cleared up when his techs entered the house. ( Im not saying that Provident has supernatural abilities but ......)This fix I needed was two of my lines from the breaker box were showing open grounds and Provident sent out two technicians, Joel and Nick. They worked together really well and I was impressed with their attention to the details and even more importantly how they were insistent on letting me know the why and how they were fixing it.Once they got the problem fixed, they discovered an another electrical issue dealing with a rodent chewing into my line and fixed it. Bonus: It was about half the price I expected too and I have used a lot of electricians in my time as a landlord. From my experiences with Larry, Brittany, Joel and Nick, its obvious that Provident cares a lot about customer service and frankly, I dont see youd use anyone else.

Phenomenal Electrical Company! Exceptional, quality service who went above and beyond are a few words to describe this awesome company. I called them on very short notice (due to a home sale) on Thanksgiving week and their electrician came in on a day off to help make an electrical bonding and grounding fix prior to closing. This personal service is almost impossible to find and is so valuable and appreciated. They showed up exactly when they said they would be there, took COVID precautions, kept a clean workspace, did a great job in a short amount of time. Call this company if you need the best! Chris was extremely knowledgeable, professional and very personable. We feel very blessed to have you as our electricians! Thank You Provident electric! Thank You Michelle! Thank You Chris! Jeremy and the rest of the staff know how to get the job done! They are timely, professional, and are upfront about services and their expenses. He was in out quickly while completing a comprehensive inspection of all of my outlets, appliances, and other electrically related components after a power surge. I had an tenant that had no power on Thanksgiving and I called provident electric. They came in under 30 minutes and were very knowledgeable about what the issue could be based on what I was explaining to them. Little did the tenant or I knew there was a power outage that morning. Larry Touchet pointed that out and waited until the power came back on to make sure that everything was working properly before he left. I could not ask for better service! I highly recommend him and provident electric!

I received exceptional customer service form Provident electric today. I was in a panic because of the power outage due to I have a Kholer backup generator that did not fire up. I have children that need their meds like the nebulizer every day and had not taking there meds due to the outage. By my surprise I woke up this morning still no power and freezing cold in my home. I called several companies and Larry from Provident was the first to respond. I explained the situation to him and he also explained to me that due to the over flow of calls because of the outage, that they were booked up tight, but what Larry did next was incredible. Larry took his time asking me a few basic questiins and then he faced time me so he can take a quick peek of my generator. He was able to walk me some basic trouble shooting of my generator and got it up and running. Larry is our hero and an exceptional human being. I have found my home for all my electric needs for my home. I will recommend Provident Electric to everyone I come across. This is a company that no doubt in my mind have employees that will go the extra mile for there customers. Larry you are awesome and Provident Electric of Fredrick Md is an A+ A1 company!!!

Can’t say enough good things about Provident Electric and, in particular, Jeremy W. Call these guys - they will treat you as family.Here’s our story…late one evening we started hearing some “explosions” in our kitchen to discover that we had a sliced, live, and loose wire behind an electrical switch. Our first concern was safety and a quick Google search returned Provident as a 24-hour provider. My wife began calling as I looked to shut off the circuit. On the other side of the phone was Jeremy…calm and patient, walking us through potential problems, and helping to gauge severity. He offered to hop in his car right away, but with some reassurance and with knowledge he’d be driving through in the morning, we forewent the emergency service call and saw him first thing the next morning. Throughout, he stayed in touch - exchanging texts to make sure we were okay, soliciting information to make sure he had supplies, and updating us on arrival time. (Upon fixing the switch, Jeremy confirmed this would have resulted in a fire.)Long story short…whether you have an emergency, are second-guessing, or are just looking to deal with down-to-earth people, don’t hesitate. Provident (and Jeremy) will treat you right.

Provident Electric has been a great company to work with. We had an electric car charger installed with them this week. The division manager who came out to give me the estimate was very knowledgeable and friendly. The 2 electricians that came out to do the work were also extremely professional and knowledgeable and arrived to my house on time.I was initially worried about the installation of my car charger since the panel is on the other side of the home in a finished basement but they were able to fish the wires through the ceiling and only needed to create a small access panel; they used high quality parts (Hubble 14-50 outlet) and overall I was very glad I hired them for the job.I will be hiring them again in the future!

This organization is the best in Electrical work that I have found over all the years that I have lived in VA! The owner, Larry Touchet, is personable, knowledgeable and extremely accommodating. We have now used Provident for several jobs in our home in VA.
