    Bluestar continues to impress - they were super responsive when I realized my AC stopped working over the weekend. With high temps this week, I was worried it might take them some time but they scheduled me quickly and came right at the top of the service window.     I contacted Bluestar Air Mechanical for a second opinion after an appointment with Air One. I have a Carrier HVAC system, and the Air One technician recommended a complete system replacement, claiming the blower was bad, the furnace control board needed replacing, and that there were other issues. Since replacing the HVAC is a big investment, I wanted to get a second opinion. It was only after comparing the service from Bluestar that I realized Air One may have been pushing for a new system sale or lacked the expertise to properly diagnose and repair the actual problems.Isaac, the technician from Bluestar, spent about an hour thoroughly diagnosing and fixing the issues. He found burnt wiring in the furnace and discovered that the wrong capacitor had been incorrectly installed in the AC. Isaac replaced the burnt wiring in the furnace and the capacitor in the AC. After these repairs, my Carrier system was back up and running--without the need for a costly replacement.Bluestar, and Isaac in particular, demonstrated professionalism, expertise, and honesty. They focused on resolving the actual issues instead of pushing for an unnecessary system replacement. I highly recommend Bluestar for their reliable service and Isaacs thorough and knowledgeable work.

    I can’t say enough good things about this company from start to finish. They replaced our AC and furnace. Prices are competitive. Don’t waste your time looking for an inexpensive HVAC company in town (there’s no screaming deals out there). What you want are quality systems, pricing options for different levels of systems and a fantastic team of HVAC professionals that can install a new system the day you call (or provide temporary AC if your system of choice takes a few days to procure). Bluestar checks all the boxes!

    Awesome HVAC contractor! John B was very helpful and answered all of my painstakingly long questions over the phone, and gave us a great quote as we discussed various other things we needed fixed. The work was done professionally and on time (even ahead of time), they are diligent workers, honest, and will tell you what you need and dont need. We had duct work repaired, dampers installed, new AC, furnace/blower, water heater, expansion tank, piping, to update a 30+ year old system.

    In 2023, my elderly tenant was pleased and told me the Bluestar technician was friendly and answered all his questions. A special thank you to the Bluestar technicianIsaac. In 2024, I have also had BlueStar install a new furnace unit at a different rental unit. Again the technicians were courteous to the tenant, left a clean working space and walked me through the new functions of the new unit.     The team from BlueStar was great, and after sourcing multiple quotes, they were the best deal. They were very professional and courteous. I live in a condo on the third floor (without an elevator), and they hauled my new HVAC system up three flights of stairs, installed my new system with a new thermostat, and removed the old system. They were very careful to put a tarp down to not damage the floors during this process.

    We stumbled upon BlueStar when we needed an emergency HVAC replacement in our condo almost 2 years ago.     Blue Star staff completely dismantled and removed my HVAC unit and hot water heater so carpenters could renovate my condo utility closet. When the carpentry work was completed, Blue Star workers discovered a leak in the copper tubing which they had to replace before they could reinstall the HVAC and water heater. All procedures were politely explained to me. Blue Star workers are pleasant, dedicated professionals which I would highly recommend to my friends.

    I have used Bluestar Air for my annual HVAC maintenance for 7 years. They are reliable, knowledgeable, and honest. With the service plan they are able to proactively identify and repair issues when they find them, saving me from my system going down completely later on.     Isaac is strong with new electronic measuring devices (think how body temperature is measured today versus the slow mercury thermometers) in the HVAC world.     Found Blue Star in response to a Yelp call out. Thought I needed a new water heater, the techs who came out the same day, found a clogged condensation line, cleaned it and found the water heater was dry. They took pictures and some video inside the unit and showed me the deposits and corrosion. I decided to replace and it was completed by the end of the day.     I would absolutely recommend Bluestar for all HVAC needs. We had a very old A/C unit that had been on its last legs for a couple of years, and unfortunately the compressor died right before the hottest weekend of the summer (so far). Bluestar provided a portable A/C unit to get us through the weekend, and quickly worked up an estimate on a new indoor and outdoor unit. A few days later, Bluestar was back for the installation. Danny is always responsive and helpful, and his team on our installation, Diego and John, were great. They kept us informed of what was going on, provided suggestions on how to optimize the new system, and worked really hard to get the new units installed as quickly and reliably as possible. We are very pleased with the results.

    TL;DR: great service, much more affordable than other companies weve used in the past, so were going to start using these folks now for HVAC work.After using two other HVAC companies that were extremely expensive for various services, we tried BlueStar recently when our AC compressor stopped working.- they were very prompt to respond to request- they were able to come the same day- the technician, Isaac, was extremely helpful and fixed the issue (as well as helped teach me some things)- they ended up being much more affordable than other local businesses: $65 for the visit compared to $89 for one company and $140 from another (just for the visit)

    My AC went out during during a heatwave with temperatures reaching 100F. An appointment was scheduled for the following morning. The service technician/installer showed up at the beginning of the service window, quickly identified the problem and had the unit repaired within 15 minutes. Following that several diagnostic checks were made to verify that the system was working properly.

    We were looking to replace our 20 years-old AC and 30 years-old furnace, and found Bluestar Air through Yelp. Scheduling for the estimate was easily done through texts. John Borromeo showed up on-time and did a thorough inspection of the existing HVAC system and wiring. Of the 6 companies that we had gotten estimates from, John was the only one to look at the wiring and determine definitively what kind of systems my home can use without re-wiring, which would be very costly and time consuming.On the day of install, John, Deyvis and Ivan arrived on-time (again!) and started working on removing the old equipment right away. They had to fabricate new duct transitions and relocate the natural gas supply line due to the new equipment sizes, and they did an excellent job. Outside, with the new units physical size being much larger, they installed a new pad and ensured it was level and cleared out debris around the area. I couldnt have asked for a more thorough and professional crew.Cost-wise, Bluestar Air was not the lowest given the brand (Carrier), but John took the time to help me select the system that meets my budget and energy savings criteria. That said, the quote provided by Bluestar Air was very competitive for Carrier systems. Id recommend Bluestar Air without any reservations.

    I have a Service Contract with BlueStar and just had the furnace serviced for the upcoming season. They replaced my water heater this past year and upgraded the system from using PVC to using cooper pipes on the hydronic heating system. Much more efficient and responsive to temperature changes. They’ve been great to work with and have explained what they found with the various tests that they performed on the system.

    We are so impressed with the Bluestar team! When our daughter came home from college, she said that our house smelled “stale”. I was mortified. I realized the stale smell was probably coming from our vents. We were way overdue to have them cleaned.The crew let us know when they were on their way and arrived on time. They answered all of our questions and provided insightful recommendations for issues we asked about (two of our bedrooms are freezing in the winter). They went above and beyond. While doing other work, Ivan noticed a bunch of twists and bends in ductwork that came out from our hood vent. Now we know why it never worked very well.When they cleaned our dryer vent, we realized it had never been properly cleaned since we bought our house in 2008. The last company who cleaned it only serviced the vent behind the dryer. Bluestar cleaned the actual vent which goes out from our roof. It was completely blocked.There is a noticeable difference in our air quality already and they only left a few hours ago. Thank you, Ivan and team for being so great. 10/10 stars. Highly recommend!

    I read the reviews on Yelp before contacting BlueStar, and because the reviews were so good, I decided to give them a call. I was not disappointed. They always responded to my emails within a few hours, and typically less than 1 hour, or with an immediate phone call. I had originally contacted another company and they told me my evaporator coil was leaking and needed replaced. I decided to get 3 quotes. Randel from BlueStar quoted me a price to *replace* the entire indoor unit that was cheaper than the other 2 companies prices to *repair* the old system. Randel responded to my email inquiry the same day, surveyed the system the same day, and gave me a quote the same day. You cant get any better than that!After getting a positive response to some details the next day (Saturday) about integration with the outdoor heat pump, I asked BlueStar to proceed with the installation. A day was set and Diego arrived on Thursday at my house and proceeded to remove the old unit and install the new unit. His work was very professional, silver sealing tape was used to make the duct work air tight. He even tested the existing humidifier which was not part of the job. Prior to installing refrigerant, Diego pressurized the system and waited for 2 hours to make sure there were no leaks. A custom made duct connector was used to connect the new unit to the existing return air duct. Diego also cleaned up afterwards so the installation area was left clean and tidy, Diego is very talented (I saw him carrying down a blow touch at one time) and did a great job with the electrical wiring and PVC drain pipe.I am extremely happy with the results and with the service that was provided. In less than one week after contacting BlueStar, my new indoor unit was up and working and my house is cool again. Randel knew exactly what I needed, quoted a great price, and had a great staff to back him up (Danny at the office followed up with the written agreements so kudos to him as well). Diego also informed me that I get 1 year of free maintenance, so he would see me in the Fall. BlueStar is now my new AC service company. What a great choice this was! BlueStar gets my highest rating.As a follow on, I have been using Bluestar ever since 2017 and I am 100% pleased with the service, thats why 6 years later, I use them exclusively.Well, $525 to replace an air fan motor under warranty seems pretty high to me. I have to drop a star for that.I got to put that last star back. My heat pump went south on me and Bluestar had the system up and running the same day. They disabled the heat pump because it triggered a fault so I was on aux heat for a little while. They installed a new heat pump the day after it snowed in 20F weather! My old heat pump is so old, the new one is almost half the size. Works great though.

    I had my air ducts and dryer vent cleaned and was very happy with the results. They showed me before and after pictures and what a huge difference. Deyvis, my tech, was prompt and very professional. The vacuum he used was as big as he was. He was also very considerate about my cat not getting out. The service was not cheap but Deyvis was here for several hours working diligently the whole time. Overall, I think it was a good value.

    I had my hot water heater replaced. They were responsive and the work was done well - at least from what I can tell. They came the same day. I called them first thing in the morning with the model number that I wanted. Signed contract electronically, and they showed up later in the afternoon and water heater was installed by the evening. They put plastic sheeting down to protect the carpet and replaced the pvc hot water (out) pipe with copper, big plus! They also provided an aluminum drain pain, which I appreciated.Update 3/21/2023: Removing a star - I found that the drain plan fitting had been glued shut with a closed-ended pipe. If I had not taken the plug out and just connected it to the drain, water in the drain pan would have overflowed! I cannot think of any reason why a drain fitting would be this way. Ive left a message for the company and will update if they call me back. Ive attached pics of the fitting that was installed. I ended up going to home depot and buying another one.Update 3/21/203: Adding the star back. The reason for the closed drain fitting is for cases of a slow leak. Person said that people will put a water sensor in the drain pan to detect a leak - which cannot be detected if the fitting is connected to a drain. I like the idea, but info would have been good from the beginning. So, what Im going to do is to keep the new drain fitting that I bought (connected to a drain), but put on a screw cap on the inside of the drain fitting so that water will accumulate (will also add a wet/water sensor). This way, I can hear the sensor and know that there is a leak, and then, I can remove the cap and have the water drain automatically.

On Monday, I called the company that installed our furnace, but they no longer did residential work. I called BlueStar because of the positive review comments on Tuesday afternoon. I explained my situation and Danny said, he would do his best to help me out. Diego came to my home and took measurements on Tuesday evening. Wednesday was Veterans Day and I worried a little if they would be able to find the right ventilation piping. The curve-ball came when the roofing contractor called Thursday at noon, and said they wanted to start this afternoon.     We contacted five contractors for HVAC replacement; most of them were interested in selling us equipment, especially equipment we didnt need. BlueStar was one of two companies that spent more than 10 minutes analyzing our existing system and made recommendations based on their analysis. Danny from BlueStar discouraged us from buying the more expensive equipment because our duct work would offset any benefit from the upgraded features. Further explanation and a Google search backed up his analysis so we were convinced. He also suggested moving our thermostat as well as replacing our 20-year-old vent cap with a much more efficient and less obtrusive one. All that was included in a very reasonable price; although price wasnt our sole reason for choosing BlueStar. This company is responsive, thorough, and competent.     Bluestar Air is the most trusted name in HVAC and the absolute first company you should call for service. Ive now used them for HVAC services 3 or 4 times and it still amazes me how considerate, knowledgeable, professional and honest everyone there is. The receptionist, the service techs and even the owner always go out of their way to accommodate us and let us know they are there to help. They seem to be a growing company that havent forgotten how to make you feel like their most important customer. And, they will not lie to you or overcharge you . They have saved me several thousands of dollars, at this point. There are many predatory companies out there. Be careful. This is not one of them. You can sense it and your invoice will reflect it. 10 STARS!!!***** UPDATE: Sept 18, 2024 ****Bluestart just replaced one of our HVAC units.
