We had a few small issues to resolve so we called Downs who we had used last year. They were amazing last year and so we were completely comfortable having them come by to fix the issue we had last week. They sent Eli Brougher who was great from the phone call letting us know he was on his way, right up to the moment he left. I talked with him about some other concerns we had with the pipes and he was able to diagnose the issue as extremely acidic water. We wound up installing a system to help fix the water PH which was systematically destroying our plumbing. Not only did he help us find the solution, but worked to get us the best deal and have it installed 2 days later on his day off to help ensure we didnt waste a moment in addressing the issue. He took time to explain all he was doing, how it works, and educate me about the system and plumbing in general. He was great to be around and it felt like a caring friend was there working to make our lives better, and not a service person. That day, Eli and Downs became the only organization we will ever call for nay issues for the remainder of our home ownership. I cant commend Downs enough for retaining experts that are so personable, with immense focus on detail, customer service, and excellence in their craft. I cant say enough about our experience and am grateful for the ability to sleep at night knowing that our pipes are no longer being eaten alive by acidic water. Highly recommend John Downs - they do great work and communicate. Eli and Curtis came right on time, did a really thorough job replacing about 100ft of cast iron pipe with PVC in our crawl space. They talked me through the whole process, took photos and made sure everything was completely in order. They were courteous and professional and the job came in at the quoted price. Will definitely call on them again.

We woke up to no water (we are on a well) and we reached out to Downs Plumbing as soon as they opened. A technician was at the house within an hour, assessed the situation and gave us options along with prices. There was no pressure to select any option and after discussing them with the tech and my wife, we opted to replace the old pump system with a new design. The crew arrived after picking up the parts and within 4 hours had the entire system replaced and water back to the house. Cant say enough about the team they sent and the price was what we had been quoted even when they ran into some unexpected issues along the way.

We were very happy with our experience with John M Downs Plumbing and Heating. We had an issue with our shower that another plumber was unable to diagnose or fix. Eli came out and immediately knew what it was and how to get us fixed up. He also had a few recomendations for other things that we might need to address in the near future but didnt put any pressure on us to work on those items right away. Very polite and professional! I couldnt ask for more and will be happy to call them again if/ when needed.

I highly recommend Downs Plumbing for all your plumbing and HVAC needs. They offer quality work at fair prices. We just had them replace two toilets, one vanity, and address several other plumbing issues. Eli did the work for us and he is wonderful. Hes meticulous about his work and double checks everything before he leaves. Hes great to work with and is very polite and respectful. I dont call anyone else but Downs.

These guys are AMAZING! I would recommend them for all your home needs. (I had no idea of the scope of work they do) I needed to redo all of my water & sewer lines. Vinny was here the day I called and they started work the very next day! My job turned into a full bathroom remodel and they are even finishing up my kitchen remodel for me. These guys were great. Needed my kitchen faucet installed and reconfigure entire piping under the sink. They were able to come to the house within one day of me calling. They showed up an hour early. Got the work done in less than 2 hours. They even put everything back underneath the kitchen sink when they were done. It was also very reasonable priced. I will definitely be using these guys again.

I had a great experience. They worked around my wants and were able to install my new nontraditional sink and vanity. They worked fast and cleaned up everything when they were done.Update: They installed my claw foot tub and it turned out great! We ran into lots of bad luck on my part and they were able to come up with solutions that worked for me. Im so happy with my new tub and the service I received!

I will recommend them to everyone I know. Vinny responded quickly to our initial problem with heat and hot water within hours. The problem was worse than our family expected. Vinny was honest, made the best recommendations for the problem at hand and followed through with the work at the very fair price they quoted us in a timely fashion. Vinny and the crew were professional and courteous in every interaction. We ended up changing our heat and hot water oil boiler to a propane system and we are very happy with the results. I won’t hesitate to use their services again.

We had copper pipes replaced by PEX, a water softener system installed, and new sink fixtures installed. Vinnie did the estimate, and he did not try to sell us anything we did not need. He offered his expertise to explain the issues we had, and what it would take to fix them. Chuck and Curtis did the work. All of these men were polite, patiently answered every question we had. Quiet professionals who performed first-rate results. We are very satisfied! They were all funny and very pleasant to be around. They all were genuinely committed to doing the very best for us. THAT really impressed me! You might find another company to do cheaper work, I dont know if you will find a company that will do a better job. Call them and trust what they tell you.

Two and a half years ago, we moved into our 20+ year old home that needed several plumbing repairs and updates. We have used John Downs Plumbing for everything including plumbing new vanities, installing a garbage disposal, re-plumbing and installing a new well water pressure tank and replacing defective drain piping. Vinnie has been a pleasure to work with each time and is skilled, cheerful, efficient and explains extent of the work. Service has always been prompt including a late night weekend call to repair a leak. Highly recommended.

We woke up to a very cold home on one of our worst winter days. We called Downs and they were here within 2 hours, which considering all the calls they had was amazing. Unfortunately our very old heating unit couldnt be fixed - it was 57 years old! - and we had a new one installed. They actually came back and did it that day - a Sunday - they had a whole crew here and got it done within a couple of hours. They were professional, nice, and all around great professionals and I would definitely recommend them. Great job guys.

Downs Plumbing and Heating installed my “internet purchased” high efficiency LG Heat Pump/AC unit. They provided a very reasonable and fair estimate in a timely fashion, within two days. I explained I was in no immediate hurry concerning installation so they completed it in about six working days, as they responded to other emergency heat jobs while working on my install (I have a pellet stove for backup heat). They installed the outside and inside unit; completed the duct work and vents; and got it up and running. Even with some technical issues with the LG supplied remote (many more installer settings than normal thermostats) they stuck with it to ensure the product functioned well and was to my satisfaction. It now works great and I couldn’t have asked for anything more. Vinny and Chuck were two of the three employees out here and they are great people, who care about their customers! (sorry I couldn’t remember the other employee’s name - all hard workers). I’d hire them again for any future jobs!

They installed mini splits for me in 2017 and a combi boiler/ water heater in October 2018, in addition to various service jobs in recent years. Their service checks all the boxes. Woke up to no running water. Called Downs at 9:30am. Two men were at my house by 10:30am to have a look. By 12:15pm they were back with needed parts and tools. By 2:45pm I had a new well pump in place (380ft. down), a new pressure tank installed and running water again. A truly professional and polite crew did a great job in a short amount of time. I will use a Downs crew again in a heartbeat!

This company was the best ! I have a hundred year old house with an old, cracked, cast iron Sewar pipe that needed to be replaced...not only did they replace the old pipes with new pvc ones, they also installed a toilet on the first floor so we didnt have to all share the only other bath upstairs...They also moved my washer and dryer hookups from the basement to the second floor, which makes life so much easier...They even went above and beyond and actually hauled the washer and dryer up two flights of stairs ( with a smile on their face )...Not only did they do a great job for a great price, they were very friendly and respectful...I couldnt have asked for a better experience with a more reliable and dedicated company...I would highly recommend.

I have a complex problem with my well water. I used guys from all over the area who tried many methods and expensive systems to treat the water. Finally I found John Downs plumbing. They ordered a system designed to handle sulfur in Florida. It was less than 1/2 the cost of the system installed by the other guys. No Downs plumbing does not clean up parts and pieces to make the work area look better than when they came, they clean up adequately and certainly as much as the other guys. No Downs plumbing does not come in all smiles, act all nicey nice, promise the world, give you a bill, and leave with a job that is inadequate. And, no Downs plumbing does not work for free. What Downs plumbing did for us was to come in, properly assessed the problem, explained the resolution options and costs, delivered the system and installed it, and most importantly to us, fixed the problem, finally, done deal.

He took me and my husband around our house and educated us on what signs to look for and how to act in an emergency. He fixed the problem and now we know what to do next time we are in a dilemma. This is not the first time we have relied on Downs Plumbing. Both John and Vinny from Downs Plumbing have installed our water filtration system and installed new hardware in our bathroom.
