Classes and training are excellent. Courses exceeded expectations. HOWEVER, I purchased the electrical safety kit and it took longer to receive than I was originally informed. Once I got in contact with the correct person I had my kit within 2 weeks. It’s very well constructed, heavy duty and ready to go. It’s a great starting point for electrical safety. The only change I would make to the kit would be the addition of a carry bag of some sort. Beyond that the kit has exceeded my expectations.This 4 star review would not prevent me from going back or recommending AVO to anyone looking for electrical safety training.

AVO Training is far and away the best training available in the electrical industry. I have taken Substation Maintenance 1 & 2 along with medium voltage circuit breakers. Their facility is top of the line. You will train hands on REAL equipment that is in use daily in our industry. Their textbooks are detailed, thorough and make technical subjects easier to understand. The most valuable asset of AVO training is their fantastic instructors. I have had 4 different instructors during my classes and all were very knowledgeable. They had loads of real world field experience in addition to their technical knowledge. This is so important because throughout each class instructors explain real world scenarios and potential pitfalls you may run into. I am so fortunate to have attended AVO. It has helped my career and electrical knowledge immensely. I recommend them unequivocally.

Very knowledgeable, instructors are great. The chairs are excellent. When you sit 8+ hours a day learning chairs do matter. The lunch they feed us was delicious AF. Just an all around good learning experience

I heard about AVO institute from a friend in Saudi Arabia and the level of training they offered. So, I traveled all the way from my country to have some of their courses and I was amazed of the level of experience for their instructors. Most of them 30 plus years of experience with great knowledge. Your lucky people to have such institute. Highly recommended

We definitely look forward to take more classes from AVO in the future. Everyone is very helpful and very knowledgeable. The instructors are also willing to stay late or take extra time on a subject to make sure everyone has a clear understanding of what is going in class.

The AVO training institute is far and away the most comprehensive and professional learning experience available. The level of knowledge of the instructors is second to none. I would recommend AVO to anyone interested in furthering their knowledge of the electrical field. I am a master electrician with 14 years in the trade and to my surprise I found myself learning new information on several topics. The more you learn the more you earn they say and no other group offers a better learning opportunity than AVO!

The Thermography Infrared 1 Class is excellent. Before entering the class I had very limited knowledge and experience using an IR camera and software. After taking the class I believe I can conduct IR surveys comfortably and with accuracy. I didn’t realize all the uses for IR cameras. Coming from an electrical field I never realized how beneficial IR could be for general building and home maintenance. The instructor Mike made the class very comfortable and shared a wealth of experience and knowledge. The staff at AVO was very nice and helpful.

I took 3 classes, Substation Maintenance 1&2, and Electrical Safety for Utilities. I am now certified for that work and got a promotion in my job. Instructors were very knowledgeable. They all had over 30 years in power distribution. Highly recommend.

Had a great experience in substation maintenance 1 getting to do a lot of testing in the lab that I had little to no experience with. Ralph is a great instructor that is very knowledgeable. He also keeps the class entertaining as well.

This is my third AVO course I have attended. I have found AVOs training to be superior to other vendors. The trainers are very knowledgeable and have years of experience in the high voltage industry. I look forward to attending more of their many courses in the future.

Good training. Took the class power quality and hormonics. Class was great, had two people in class with their P.E. another person with 40+ years of experience and another engineer. We shared information with each other. Good basic class in power quality that gives you a place to start. Had instructor Paul C Bessey.

Excellent instructor, I received a lot more knowledge than I thought I would. Its not just a safety class, I learned a lot about electrical devices, circuitry, and multimeters. The biggest disappointment is the vending machines. Its really expensive. And the system required to buy is a hassle. Overall I would highly recommend. Great place to learn new skills and better yourself.

If you are looking to learn more about batteries this is the place to go. Good classroom material and hands on learning. We had a great instructor who did an excellent job.

Have spent this week taking the Electrical Safe Work Practices for McDonald’s. Chris M., our instructor, has done a fantastic job covering the material and molding the class/materials to the general skill set contained by the pupils. We have had several discussions and things explained to us that just doesn’t come without years of experience. It’s been a very thorough week; the hands on experience in safe environment has been excellent. The ONLY thing I’ve had an issue with is the printings of the wiring schematics in book are unable to be read for some of the equipment...almost as if when transposed and printed it “blurred” making the already small schematics even harder to follow. Thanks for the industry insight and knowledge! :-)

AVO has been some of the best training I have been involved in. They have been very helpful to fullfil all of our knowledge needs. I would highly recommend the microprocessor relay generation class taught by Ralph Parrett.

This class and Electric print reading are a good foundation for those that want to get into or are in the early stages of the electric/utility industries.

AVO DC Battery Training: Rick trains the class with no “Grey Area”. I like that we were trained to have the ability to navigate through the materials to find the answers we need. There are too many scenarios to know everything. You need to be able to locate that info depending on your situation.

I came into protective relay maintenance - basic with almost 0 knowledge of relays and learned much more than I thought I could in a week’s time. After searching around for this class (grounding and bonding) AVO had it for more than half the price of others and two days longer! I signed up immediately. Near the starting date, attendance was low -- they were going to cancel the class. I asked them not to and within 24 hours the class was back on! AVO decided to take a loss rather than disappoint their customers. Excellent company with amazing, dedicated, and caring people! A++!
