ValEquity instantly became family from day one. They really listened and took our image and made it reality. They always showed up on time, worked so hard to get the job done and get it done right the first time!! The communication was amazing. We were always in the know of everything during every process. Just like with most big construction job issues will arise. They problem solved with us and we all came up with the best solution to fit our needs. Every contractor was always very polite respectful. We will be planning our next project with ValEquity and highly recommend to anyone!!

Gearhart Kitchen Remodel (April – July 2017)Up until I retired in 2016, my husband and I lived with our small, cave like kitchen. I had made comments over the years about updating it but wasn’t until I retired and we were tripping over each other that he acknowledged the wisdom of a new floor plan. Once we decided to remodel the kitchen of our 1923 home we called Kresge Contracting about the project. They renovated our upstairs bathroom and installed a second one on our main floor three years ago and we were very pleased with the outcome of the project.Mark Kresge (company president) responded in a timely manner and we had a meeting to discuss design options for the kitchen. Once Mark understood our “wants and needs” he designed our new kitchen. He also knows to ask the right questions – such as “how is your comfort on the upper floor?” Per Mark, “It is easier to make these kinds of modifications when the walls are open.” In the process of construction, a second cold air return was installed on our upper floor, which has made it easier to cool and much more comfortable.The remodel not only required the gutting of the existing kitchen but also the removal of the wall between the kitchen and dining room. Since our house is old, the question of lead paint and asbestos needed to be addressed. Lucky for us, our house does not contain lead paint, however we did need to deal with asbestos removal on the heating duct in the demolished wall. Kresge takes environmental hazard issues seriously and has been trained to identify and address them in an appropriate manner.Andy L. (our project manager) was timely, courteous and really knows his job. He has excellent communication and organizational skills, which were evident in the smooth flow of the renovation. We were told the job would take about 12 weeks and Andy ensured that the schedule was followed. He kept us informed of the “who, what, where and what time” during the course of the project. Problems were dealt with in a timely manner and to our satisfaction. The personnel that performed the work were knowledgeable, courteous and friendly. My husband and I never felt uncomfortable with any of the contractors or subcontractors and in fact we had some very interesting conversations.We absolutely love our newly remodeled kitchen; it is open, clean and bright. The new layout is easy for us to navigate without tripping over each other and there are no more inaccessible cave-like lower cabinets or wasted space (especially over the cabinets – no more nasty, dirty cabinet tops to clean!!)

ValEquity completed a large, first level remodel of our home and exceeded our expectations. Not only was the quality of work great, they are just great people. They show up everyday, take pride in their work, and want you to be completely satisfied with your project. What I appreciated most was the consistent communication. We were always informed as to the progress of the project, what was going to happen week to week, and if questions arose, the owner, Roger would always pick up and assist when needed. I highly recommend you give them a look. They know what they’re doing.

We have used Valequity for multiple projects including 2 bathroom renos, a kitchen reno, a built in book nook, and a fireplace refresh. Our continued use of their team shows how much we value and appreciate their work and professionalism. From designing to building, their work is beautiful! The crew is also a pleasure to work with as well. Having so many projects done, these guys have learned to anticipate my choices and my design personality. Valequity works hard to keep our project in budget while giving us everything on our list within reason! They are honest and straightforward so I trust when they tell me something will or won’t work. I tell all my friends looking to have work done to call them when getting bids. I can’t recommend them enough and will continue to use them for future projects! Love these guys!

We are a repeat customer of Kresge Contracting. In 2004 they did 2 upstairs bathrooms for us. In 2016 they completely renovated our kitchen and downstairs bath, taking the area down to the studs, reconfiguring it, and building it back up. We have been extremely impressed with the outcomes after both our projects. Mark Kresge listened to us during the design phase and really captured what we wanted to accomplish while adding some recommended features based on his expertise that we have appreciated. The designer knowledgeably helped us pick out each of the components and walked us through all the steps so that we were ready to go when construction started. The construction team was polite, easy to work with while we occupied part of the house and they occupied the other part, and did a great job cleaning up after themselves. Having a project coordinator to be the point person for communication is great. It was also evident that communication among the entire team was ongoing and thorough. The craftsmanship is superb and the end results are both beautiful and highly functional. We have recommended them to many of our friends.

Prior to hiring Kresge Contracting, I developed a request for a quote so that I could accomplish multiple goals--repairs and refresh within a modest budget for my kitchen, half bath, and full bath in my Clintonville home. After reviewing several company offers, I decided to work with Kresge because of their professional manner, detailed documentation in their proposal, and their track record of satisfied customers. I would recommend Kresge Contracting to anyone looking for kitchen or bath upgrades or remodeling. The company owner and design consultant are invested in helping the customer to obtain a great outcome and use their showroom and design experience to assist customers in articulating and selecting their kitchen/bath design choices. The project management structure that is used ensures that all of the contractual details happen. The project manager for the project exceeded my expectations for communications about schedule and what I as the home owner needed to do to support the work to fit into the overall schedule. The project was finished about 2 weeks ahead of the projected schedule for project completion even though there were manufacturing and supply chain issues to be dealt with due to the global pandemic stay-at-home orders. I am highly satisfied with the results both from the appearance and functionality outcomes and from the impact on my wallet.

We have had Kresge do two projects for us. The first was a total remodel of the kitchen and powder room. The design suggestions made the layout much more functional. The work of the crew was excellent, and they cleaned up each day (which was appreciated as there was a lot of wall and ceiling removal). The supervisor kept us informed of what was to be done and when at each step. The work was finished a week early and on budget. The second was a major remodeling of the master suite. This included expansion into the garage roof, adding a second walk in closet and a total gutting of the master bath and redo. Again, the crew was efficient, the supervisor kept us informed and they always cleaned up. And Kresge stands behind their work. There was a vent issue a few weeks after they finished the second project. Kresge quickly made all corrections. I would recommend them for any remodeling project.

We were extremely lucky to find Mark Kresge to remodel our kitchen in Columbus. Kevin, our Project Manager was more professional than we had even expected and a great craftsman. The sub-contractors they chose did great work and everything was on time and budget. Kresge guided us through the process and kept us up to the minute on everything that was happening in our house. The price was fair, less than some of the big, fancy remodelers quotes we received. We will use them in the future to renovate our bathrooms and basement.

They listened to what we didnt like about our old bathroom and what features we would like and they made suitable suggestions for the remodel. I also really appreciate that they limited some of the options for us based on our design discussion because material selection can be very overwhelming. Overall, I highly recommend Kresge Contracting and we will be using their services again when were ready for remodeling the rest of our bathrooms.

Over the past 10 years Kresge Contracting has completed three remodeling projects for us: a two-story addition in 2007, a bathroom remodel in 2016 and a major kitchen remodel earlier this year. Kevin Hittepole was the project manager for the two-story addition and the kitchen.The reason we have used Kresge for three projects is that their work is very high quality, but at a competitive price. Everything is done very professionally, with everything in writing to minimize surprises.home owner. Kevin erected a plastic barrier to protect the rest of the house from the dust created by the kitchen demolition. It worked great! We are completely satisfied with Kresges work, thanks in no small part to Kevin Hittepole.I would highly recommend that anyone who is considering a remodeling project at least get an estimate from Kresge. We love our two-story addition, bath and kitchen.

We love the remodeled bathroom that Kresge Contracting just finished for us. They were easy to work with and able to handle the surprises that remodeling an old home can generate. Nothing is left to chance with their start to finish remodeling process. They communicated regularly with us throughout the design and construction phases of the project and that communication ensured that the bathroom would be finished on time and look just like what we had envisioned. This was our second bathroom remodel that Kresge has done for us. We had the same experience with our first bathroom remodel a couple of years ago.

Kitchen remodel, added bar to living room, new hardwood floors on first level, minor updates to guest bathroom.I love these people. From the first time we met with Mark Kresge to hash out a kitchen design to the last day that Andy (project manager) came by to tweak an outlet, we were exceedingly pleased with this company. Mark was always helpful in getting us what we wanted without sacrificing budget and functionality. His design for our home and advice along the way was extraordinary.Andy, who was in our home day in and day out, was the consummate professional. Our female only home felt completely at ease with him, and he was the epitome of professionalism. If we ever do a project again, which we certainly will, we will demand that Andy leads the project. It was so refreshing to be able to relax and know that Andy will handle it. My wife and I are busy professionals. We felt complete secure in allowing Andy to handle the subcontractors and little decisions that needed to be made along the way. Any time we decided to add something else onto the project, Andys only response was not a problem. And it truly wasnt.I really cant recommend this company enough. We will always go to them first with any project we desire.

Great to work with. I love my new kitchen. They were willing to fix any problems that cropped up afterward. They worked with me as I wanted to do some of the decor myself (painting, tiling, cabinet doors). They remained flexible and straight forward. I would recommend them to anyone.

We just completed a kitchen renovation with Kresge Contracting. The renovation involved reconstruction of a kitchen island, moving and island stove to a counter location, new island cabinets, new countertops, matched staining of woodwork to match existing cabinets and rerouting the oven exhaust, including drywall and ceiling repair work. From Mark Kresge (owner and designer) to Kevin Hittepole (construction manager), Abbie (design consultant) and other team members, we could not be happier with the work performed, attention to detail, care of work area including cleaning up daily, protection of existing cabinets and other areas, professionalism was top notch and experience of the work crew and design team was EXACTLY what we were looking for. No detail was left unexplored or unfinished and the work was completed in the time frame we agreed upon, even over the holidays. We love our new space and Mark and his team captured our desires with practical solutions to make this the space we needed for our family. I cannot provided a higher recommendation for this team and business. We are now planning additional future work with this team in the coming years to continue to update, add value to our home and make the practical changes that work with our family in our home. Very helpful with design and planning. Very mindful of controlling dust and disruption. Cleaned up every day at the end of the day. They made the process tolerable. The finished effort more than exceeded our expectations.

The crew at ValEquity came through in a pinch when we discovered rotting wood around an outside door and mold on the adjacent subfloor. They removed all the necessary elements and replaced the door (complete with a new frame) and cut new subflooring to size to get us squared away. They worked parts of two late afternoons to accommodate our schedule for which my wife and I were very grateful.
