I knew my furnace was on borrowed time, as new home owners no one tells you about importance of getting furnaces serviced. Lived in our 1950s home for 10 years and knew we needed a new furnace soon. I heard great things from Whitney Bros from reliable sources. I called just to get it looked at, not being current customers I wasnt sure where I stood in priority, but Barry called me back right away, within a week he was at my house checking out my furnace. He was honest, knowledgable, kind and let me know that my furnace did indeed need to be replaced. He sent someone over the next day to take another look and service it to see if we could run it. It was determined officially we needed a new one and couldnt safely run the current one we had. Less than a week later I had a new furnace installed. The 2 men who came to my house to replace it were kind, respectful, and overall great. The worked efficiently and left no mess and remembered to lock the bulked door and shut the gates upon leaving. I am thankful for Barry and his team for being proactive, attentive, and helpful when it came to something so important. We are in line for other work we need done and will be using Whitney Bros for our AC, water heater and eventually new oil tank.

Had someone from your company come by and hook up our gas for a new stove. I believe his name was Eddie. Overall took him about 10 mins very fast and efficient. Knew what he was doing and very polite. Didn’t leave any mess and overall great experience.

Needed service on our boiler, and Whitney really came through for us. The technician was courteous and professional, and explained everything to me as he diagnosed the problem and fixed it. I took notes and Im confident that I understand know how the boiler works and what to look for if it acts up again. The tech did a great job, and its now working perfectly. Thank you!

We have been an Oil customer for 30+ years. The few negative reviews are irresponsible at best. We started with the big Worcester Companies and the Oil only NO SERVICE companies and got burnt literally. Whitney also does our annual burner service, has upgraded our furnace, installed our AC, and replaced our oil tank. Alex and Berry are no nonsense and answer the phones. We have had at one time or another every one of their knowlegeable techs and great drivers. Recently we had Ron in on a project and then a repair and he is the best of the best. The total commitment gets you excellent service and you get a lot in return for what you pay for.Peter.

Very helpful team. Very accommodating when we purchased our house but had not yet moved across country... They worked with our real estate agents to perform our insurance oil tank inspection, fill our tank, and set our thermostats to make sure our house didnt freeze up before we could move in. Once we moved in, they were always very helpful with questions and offering perspectives to help us get the most out of our system, yet helping us find ways to save expenses where possible.

They are awesome! I woke up one morning with no oil (my fault), they were the only place around out of the 10 I called, that would come the same day. Not even 10 minutes after hanging up the phone a tech was knocking at my door to give me 5 gallons of oil and prime my tank free of charge to hold me over until they had a truck available later in the day. Also very reasonably priced. Can’t recommend them enough!

Wow, Wow, Wow!This company went out of their way to help us with our gas furnace. We dont even use them for oil! I will be using them for service from this day forward. The techs could not come to my house to check the furnace, we have covid in the house. But the owner Barry and one of his techs stayed on the phone with my husband and I to talk us through getting our furnace running, and wouldnt give up until it was all set. Even dropped off a special little hose to get water to the furnace. This is customer service at its finest. Thank you again Barry and your team for helping us in a last minute situation. You guys rock! And we are warm tonight.

Whitney has delivered our oil for years trudging through deep snow to get to our oil fill when I havent had a chance to clear a path. Never a complaint. When our oil tank sprung small leak, I called Whitney and they sent a service tech. to my house - took maybe 20 minutes for him to get here and it was way after normal business hours. The tech. was great; put in a temp. patch, and told me my options. No hard sell on a new tank.Oh and, I recomend Tank Guard! I dont have it - wish I did. Very happy customer!

Thank you to Jason for coming out in the middle of the night to save our ignorant first-time home-owner butts. He was easy to talk to and fixed the issue with our gas boiler within 20 minutes - all while explaining nicely what we SHOULD have been doing the whole time we’ve been running the thing. Heat went out, Whitney Brothers were out to our house within a couple of hours and diagnosed the issue. Repair was done as soon as the part arrived. Repairman was friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely recommend.

HUGE shout-out to Whitney Oil. We decided the week of our siding job that we needed a Mini-split installed and needed it done right away so they didnt have to cut holes the new siding and Cam worked his magic to get it all done. Smooth process, very helpful!

I brought a combination heating and hot water system to replace the aging system in a condo I recently purchased. Barry Whitney examined the utility room and sent me a proposal with a variety of options.The team came in and installed everything in just a few hours and left the area neat and clean.However, it turned out that the installer had made an erroneous connection, so when I turned up the downstairs thermostat, the upstairs radiators also heated up.Barry was very responsive and sent someone over three times. The third time was the charm as the tech figured out what the original mistake was and corrected it. Since then, the system has functioned perfectly.Good job, solid customer service, with very responsive follow up until the problem was corrected to my satisfaction.Its easy to deliver good service during a basic installation. Barry could have made up some BS story that it was a problem with the way the pipes were configured and left me high and dry, but he keep on the problem until it was solved.P.S. A year or so later, the boiler started acting up. Soot was appearing and I could hear the pilot assembly trying over and over again to light the gas, so I called Whitney.They sent a tech, who found the soot and tried to clean it up. He was followed by a plumber, who diagnosed the problem.It turned out Whitney originally installed the unit using an orifice in the pilot light assembly designed for natural gas, rather than propane. As a result, the burner was using more fuel than it should, which created the soot. Eventually, the soot buildup made it increasingly harder for the pilot assembly to work properly.Here again, Whitney did the right thing. They replaced the pilot light assembly with the correct orifice and cleaned up the lingering soot at no charge.What a pleasure to deal with an ethical company that recognizes when they screwed up and fixes it.

I have a small HVAC/Appliance business in Fitchburg and received a call from an elderly man in Clinton today regarding his central air suddenly not working. I explained to the man he was out of our service area and he explained to me that he was almost 80yo and disabled. Keep in mind, we are in the middle of our first 5 day heat wave here in Massachusetts. I asked if he had called anyone else and replied that he had. I told him I would also try and find someone to help him. I called Whitneys and spoke with Tom, and he explained they only service those who use them for an oil company. I explained the elderly gentlemans situation and he agreed to get someone out there. If I could give this company more than 5 stars I would! A huge shoutout to Whitneys for caring for those in their community! Well done!

I rate them 5 stars, because I experienced issues with another local company (without naming names) that told us we needed a new gas valve for our furnace. I was skeptical after doing some online research so I asked Whitney to come out and get a second opinion. Good thing I went with my gut because I finally got a technician that wasnt clueless. Whitneys technician came out and took the time to diagnose the problem correctly and actually listen to our concerns. The technician saved us hundreds of wasted dollars. And he also gave us some advice on a separate water issue that saved us more money. He replaced a control panel on the furnace and they were always prompt when I called them. I highly recommend them for their prompt service and their expertise in diagnosing the problem correctly.

Good workers, great service quality work. Just some of the guys have absolutely NO CONSIDERATION WITH regard to TRASHING YOUR FLOORS, or even attempting or offering to give it a quick clean up. Theyre being paid well they should at least make an effort to clean up after all heat does run in the winter and they should realize the mess theyre making walking in and out of the house.

Well Im a brand new landlord and my tenant let me know that the heat was not working, so I was very concerned being that this is the coldest weather we have had this winter. I was referred to Whitney Brothers by 2 people and I called them first thing in the morning on the emergence number and they picked right up and told me they were not sure but they would do the best they could. Well at 8:27 am they called me from the building they were already there. What a relief they did a great job and by 11:00 or so the heat was working great. Barry and his team are phenomenal. I hired them upon the recommendation of a friend after meeting with several other companies. Barry was fair, approachable and above all, kind. He was extremely responsive and kept me informed about everything. I had mini splits put in and sewer lines replaced. Everything was done so efficiently, that I can’t wait to hire them again as the need arises.When you meet Barry, you will feel as if he has been a lifetime friend. I woke up this morning to a frigid house. I went and checked oil tank,. It read 1/4 tank but upon tapping tank I knew tank was empty and gauge was hung up. Called Whitneys and explained my situation. Its below zero out there today and my wife is ill. They arrived a couple hours later , filled and fired up the boiler.Fantastic group of people at Whitneys.
