Derrick is the man. Had an exterior project and Derrick was able to offer his expertise and recommendations at a very reasonable price. Derrick is honest and will only offer you what is needed to accomplish your goal, unlike other contractors I have spoken to that will upsell you. Derrick also loves to do things the CORRECT way, avoiding shortcuts and avoid giving you headaches down the road when problems arise due to poor workmanship that I have seen with so many other companies. Highly recommend.

Derrick and his team are the GEMS of Chicago, book them!!I had 3 leaky windows that I could NOT get fixed. I had some other folks replace the window who made the leak WORSE, so I called Derrick to come save the day.He was beyond flexible - initially I said I wanted to wait until January (which he was fine with!), but when the rain was too much in December, he adjusted his schedule to accommodate mine.Not only did he stop my leak by replacing my siding (it’s raining right now and my windows are BONE DRY on the inside), he also educated me on potential issues with my roof AND helped me understand what the previous contractor did wrong.I will only use Pulse for my window and siding needs from now on - money well spent!

Derrick and his team went above and beyond on what was required. They surpassed most of the specifications from my architects drawing, making the deck and staircase super sturdy, more durable and beautifully done. They also replaced the gutters, soffit and fascia professionally. They were very nice to my next door neighbor and fix one of his gutters for free.The communication was excellent, Derrick keep me posted on the progress every day. I highly recommend Pulse Exterior.

(Crossposted on Yelp) We have two garages at our 8-unit condo building in Chicago, separated by an 11-foot drive, and over the years a combination of residents’ vehicles and the snow plow had done a number on the vinyl siding, especially the corners. Rather than just replacing the vinyl and waiting for it to get damaged again, I wanted a solution that would harden the corners and protect the garage walls from the snowplow. Darek at Pulse Exterior was very attentive to what I wanted to accomplish and worked with me to land on a solution that achieves both. His excellent communication also made the project go very smoothly. He showed up for the estimate as scheduled, sent the estimate when he said, and it was easy to schedule the work. Luke and Darek delivered a quality finished project. Pulse will be our first call in the future.

We were referred to Derrick and Pulse Exterior by our roofer and couldn’t be more pleased with the help and work Derrick and his team provided. Derrick was able to give a thorough inspection of our gutters and flashing. They did an exceptional job completing the repairs and replacements and left a clean job site. The cost seemed very reasonable. The job we had done involved coordination with our roofer and Derrick was very helpful pulling everything together with them.

We hired Pulse Exterior to install new gutters and they were fantastic every step of the way!Derrick came out for the initial consult. took his time taking in and documenting the current state of our gutters. he was very informative on what he was looking at, the corners that were cut with the previous work and what and why he would do things a little different. He later send a detailed proposal that was very informative, with pictures and drawings, making everything super easy to follow, even having knowledge of the process. it was nice to see how informative and detail oriented he was.The crews install times and process was very fast and the pricing was super fair and friendly.The part of the process that I liked the most was, Derrick came out the next day for a final inspection of the crews work. he found a very small pitch issue that he didnt like and had the crew come back out and fix it. (didnt take long at all)He advised that it wasnt that big of an issue and most people wouldnt notice but, he couldnt let it go as it would keep him up at night. That is AMAZING! and exactly what you want out of a contractor for any service! Derrick treats you how he would want to be treated and understands that his name and quality means everything and he definitely delivers!We bought our house a little over a year ago. it is 103 years old. the previous owners neglected a few things so, we have had to get about 6-8 things fixed around the house and I have to say that I dont think ANY of the other services, no matter how good i thought they were, had the owner coming back out to double check the crews work to make sure it was to the quality he promised. it was a nice touch and it goes far when you make your customer believe you actually care for their best interest.Because of this experiences, we are also going to be reaching out when we repair/replace our 2nd floor back deck.Pulse Exterior was a dream to work with and we couldnt recommend them enough!Thanks again, Derrick and Crew!!!

Derrick & his crew were a pleasure to work with. They were very responsive, respectful, and did excellent work. Derrick gave us a ton of useful advice throughout the project, from color suggestions to which siding materials would work best for our house. I would highly recommend for any exterior home renovation project.UPDATE: We had a (very) minor issue with our siding after the winter. We called Pulse Exterior up and they came out and fixed it within the week, no charge, no problem. They stand by their work and we are very satisfied with it. Thanks Derrick & team! Cant recommend enough.

Best contractor Ive ever worked with, period. We had issues with our windows leaking on the front and side of the house. Derrick & his team came out to the house and immediately identified the issues (missing Flashing). They were very responsive and made quick repairs. Since the repairs, weve had ZERO leaking issues. I 10/10 recommend Derrick & his team!

Although they were not in the neighborhood, I contacted Pulse Exteriors through Yelp. Derrick was immediately responsive, and although he was quite busy, assured me that the work would be completed before any winter snow were to come. While I was initially interested in some gutter repairs, Derrick took detailed drone photos that clearly indicated the gutters should be replaced rather than repaired. In addition, his quote for gutter guards was so reasonable that I had those installed as well. As winter weather was near, he lived up to his promise and worked me into his schedule. The crew was experienced, fast, and cleaned up well. I couldn’t be happier with every phase of the project, and would highly recommend Pulse for any gutter needs, large or small.

YIKES!! I cannot begin to tell you how many times I have been railroaded with subpar work at inflated prices being a single woman but DERRICK was the absolute bomb!! He gave me a quote back in December when I was out of state and after many inquiries from other businesses, I was blessed to have him complete an extensive gutter replacement. He was on time; affordable; professional; and friendly. He even advised me to contact a previous contractor for some sub par work done on my insulation. I am so happy with the work, the advice, the complete due diligence to a job well done! For all you single gals....have comfort in the knowledge that Derrick will provide you with quality home improvement services. I am more than happy with my cute beige gutters!! Insert happy face:)

We had a shed that needed to either be painted or sided. We had quotes for both. Once we met Derrick and received his quote, we knew immediately that his firm was the one for us. He had more expertise than any of the others wed interviewed. He was also the only one that actually had color samples with him. Not only that, but he offered different levels of quality siding. His quote was reasonable and in line with or better priced than the others received. We had a very tight situation against a fence (16 clearance) and they did a wonderful job. They were very professional, neat and the end product is beautiful. We couldnt be happier and would highly recommend Pulse Exteriors to anyone requiring similar type work.John L

I dont just give out 5 star-ratings willy nilly, so believe me when I tell you they earned it in my opinion. I had been looking for someone to repair my downspouts for at least 3 weeks with no success...I would get a no show, overly inflated quote, or inability to fit me in the schedule in a reasonable time. With the few storms/torrential rains we have experienced, this of course was very frustrating and every time it would rain hard I would cringe because I knew water was just pouring out the broken areas next to the foundation. However, the last company I contacted informed me that although they didnt do the kind of repair I was looking for, referred me to Pulse Exterior. I do not know how I did not come across Pulse E. while searching for a company to do the project, but this ended up being a blessing in disguise because they were able to fit me in right away. Although my project was not overly complicated, I appreciated it being treated with importance. Derrick was very personable, reasonably priced, prompt, and the work looks great. I highly recommend Pulse for your home repairs/remodeling which is also attested to by many others online.

I had a siding repair job I needed done and was having a difficult time finding someone to do it. I found Pulse Exterior online and decided to give them a call. Derrick got back to me quickly. The job was completed in less than 48 hours and at a fair price. Derrick even gave me a call while the work was being done to update me on the progress. I was very impressed with the professionalism I experienced. Also, I feel that I should mention one other thing. Not being familiar with Pulse, or Derrick, I chose to take a chance and use them based on the fact that I had noticed that they felt it necessary to register themselves with the Better Business Bureau. To me, that demonstrates a conscientious effort on the owners part to be reliable and responsible.Great experience and I hope I have an opportunity to use them again.

I am so glad I found this company. Due to heavy rains and the high winds of Chicagoland, a large panel on my exterior fireplace chimney completely fell and was unrepairable due to the rain rotting out the wood from behind the panel. Finding someone reputable to do this job and do it without cutting corners was not easy. Called Derrick and he gave me his first possible appointment to come out and get me a free estimate. He was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and wanted to make sure we had all the best options to choose from. He even brought siding samples with him based on the photos I had sent him. He was able to squeeze us in between two jobs and the team was able to do the job phenomenally in one day. I was so happy with his service that I asked him about something else I have been wanting to have done on the day of our project install and he said he could have his team do it and gave me an immediate quote followed by immediately going to buy the materials for the add on project too. Both jobs completed and my neighbors afterwards amazed that we found such a perfect match in siding color and style. Fantastic! I will calling Derrick at Pulse Exterior first going forward for all of my exterior home needs. Two thumbs way up!

This was a great contractor experience.My wife and I have had less than stellar experience with contractors in the past, and Derrick made us feel comfortable, was not pushy, and did the job the right way. Like really, really the right way. Our gutters look great, and they cleaned up the area where they worked very well. It was a great job.Lastly - our roof was in poor shape (I thought) and asked him for a roof quote. He explained to me that it was not in as poor of shape as I thought, and agreed to clean up the roof (caulk shingles down, and deal with a minor leak) for free! He threw it in with the gutter work. Like I said, he is a very fair guy who is on time, does great work and really wants you to be happy.

Darek and his team were fantastically responsive, quick, flexible and had a great price for fixing the siding on my garage. The original contractors didn’t use Tyrek protective wrap underneath the siding but Darek and his team made sure to take this extra step to ensure the job was done right. It’s hard to find someone that does high quality work on time and at a great price (you usually have to pick two out of the three) but that’s what Pulse Exteriors gives you. I can’t say enough how happy I am with the job they did. Would recommend them every time.
