I recently purchased an EV and needed a 240V line to accommodate charging. After talking to a few buddies who had extensive knowledge of NEC and wiring installation, I came to the conclusion that I may need a new panel with more room, a subpanel, a 240 run for an outlet, and 2 240V runs for 2 hardwired Tesla wall chargers. I contacted Steven from RedStar. A electrician promptly came by and we had an in depth discussion about me needs and expectations. The work started promptly. An electrician and 1 to 2 helpers performed the work and Steven came by to look at work and answer any final questions I had. The work was great and any issues that came up during installation were brought up and discussed. I feel 100% satisfied with the job. Steven is a fair person and he seems to genuinely care about your needs as a customer. I always research before starting any project. And Im glad that I went with RedStar. Ill be using them for any electrical work moving forward.

I write to give my highest recommendation to Red Star Electric.The SituationWe were in an old house built, we think, sometime in the 1960s. The electricity has not been checked in a very long time. Most of our outlets were 2-pronged, and sometimes whole rooms didn’t work. We knew we had a lot of repairs to do, but we were not sure where to begin, how to begin, or if we could afford the repairs. We Googled and looked around Westchester for electricians, but it’s a difficult landscape to navigate and we felt anxious and overwhelmed.Red Star Electric, the companyFrom the second we called Red Star, we felt better and at ease. Immediately when we spoke with Layla on the phone, we knew we were in good hands. She walked us through the process of Red Star checking out our home. She was transparent about pricing, and she let us know how much the walkthrough would be. She assured us that Red Star took all major credit cards, and she explained that to know what each task would entail, and to get a quote for said task, her team would have to methodically assess our home, and then we would discuss the price. Layla took care to not give us some number pulled out of the air, and we appreciated that. She took our email and phone number, and we got a quick confirmation email and a fast appointment. We called on a Friday, and had the appointment ready for that Monday morning (even though it was Easter weekend)! On the day of the job, we got updates that our technician was on the way, and he arrived ON TIME, which was huge for us!Murad, the electricianMurad is easily one of the best technicians in Westchester. First, he showed great empathy and kindness for how worried we were about all the work that needed to be done in our home. He calmly walked through each room, and he made sure we had the correct fire detector as well. Our original ask was simply to change a 2-pronged outlet into a 3-pronged outlet, and Murad did this in literally 2 minutes like magic. Then he fixed a burned-out wire in our kitchen outlet, and he fixed another outlet that had a mismatched wire. He even added in some work for free. This last outlet he fixed was an amazing win for us, because we had had another electrician look at it before, but it stopped working in just 1 day. After Murad worked on it, we had no such issue, and it’s still on now as I write this. Murad was able to take our full payment on a Red Star Electric iPad-like tablet, and it could not have been more seamless. As they say in the Bible, LET THERE BE LIGHT. We were blown away by Murad’s skill, kindness, and unflappability. Layla checked in with us every step of the way. She even followed up with us after the job done was done. And this electric repair work exceeded our expectations by a mile. We will definitely be back to Red Star, and we are asking specifically for Murad!!! God bless him and Layla! We couldn’t be happier, and we highly recommended Red Star.

They were here asap, worked SO hard all day and got power restored for us. They delt with the city and Con Edison for us. And such pleasant, hard working and respectful guys. She quickly assessed the situation and had our ceiling fan working without being replaced in no time. Then we moved on to the ceiling fixture and she expertly removed it and had this working for us before leaving. Marie was prompt, professional, careful (shoe covers!), and a pleasure to have in our home. Laela, the representative who books the appointments, was also a pleasure to work with. Red Star came out within hours of my initial call to fix my generator switch and restore power to home after a big storm. Murad was a lifesaver and everyone else I spoke to on the phone was efficient, professional, and very helpful. This was after trying to get my regular guy and a couple other backups I had on my contacts to come look at my generator, but no one else could come on short notice. This was right after a big storm that wiped out power on my block, so most folks seemed to be scrambling. Dealing with Red Star was the easiest part of the process. Also they dont do anything without going over cost with you first. After fixing my generator issue they discovered a couple other problems and got back to me with a detailed pricing proposal for other work the next day. Murad was particularly good and explaining everything -- he loves what he does and it shows! Ill likely use them again.

The team is incredibly friendly, professional and detail oriented, very prompt and easy to schedule with. They installed two bathroom fixtures, kitchen pendants and a complex dining room chandelier. They had great attention to detail and were never frustrated when I asked them to place lights a dozen different ways. I’d use the team again in a heartbeat. That said, I wouldn’t mind if they were a little less expensive. (But you do get what you pay for!!)

This is the 2nd time I have used Red Star Electric for electrical work at home. This job entailed installation of a generator inlet wired to the main electrical panel and an interlock switch. Setting up appointments and any concerns is handled by Linda who is always pleasant to talk to and keeps you well informed with any information or updates. The electrician who provided the quote and performed the work was named Alex. Alex was very knowledgeable, patient, and professional. He listened to what I was trying to accomplish, he answered all of my questions and made a few suggestions that I didnt even consider but ultimately improved on the overall outcome of the installation. He was tidy and cleaned up any debris created from the work. He was also more than happy to answer some questions that I had which were not even related to the job. Overall Alex was a pleasure to work with and I would recommend him for any job. My experience with Red Star Electric through the two jobs I hired them for (so far) has been great and I feel completely confident to give them a great recommendation for any kind of electrical work you might need.

Red Star is my go-to for everything electrical in and outside my house. The team is professional, licensed, on-time, trust-worthy. I have used them for the last 2 years from a light panel correction to removing electrical wiring outside (both previously done incorrectly by a previous electrician). Red Star called me back almost immediately and took down my information. The woman who called me was delightful. They took care of the electrical certification and helped me get my electricity back on the day they installed the box. Red Star responded quickly and fixed my problem efficiently. I called early in the morning and the answering service took all my information. Linda called me back shortly after they opened and was able to send someone out the same day. The communication was excellent - I knew when someone was on the way, and he even arrived early. Alex was very professional and thorough in figuring out how to fix my outdoor lights. I also appreciated the safety inspection, which was informative but not at all a hard sell. I am so happy with the work done today at my house. Our basement looks completely different with the recessed lighting installed and the air circulation on my second floor is much better after they installed a ceiling fan. I contacted a few electrician to have my new car charger installed and Red Star Electric replied immediately. We scheduled an appointment to receive a quote. The person arrived on time and was very professional. He gave us a few suggestions and provided a reasonable quote for the work to be done.We agreed on the price and scheduled for the install on the following morning. The crew did an excellent job in installing a new supply line from the panel to the garage and went out of their way to make sure everything was done to our uttermost satisfaction.I highly recommend this company and will definitively use again!

Red Star was fantastic. I called with an electrical emergency at 9:30am, a technician was at my house by 10:50am, and the problem was resolved by 12:00pm.
