Despite being a newly built home, one of our garage doors and landscaping lights had stopped working. Additionaly, my husband and I wanted to add sconces in two rooms.We reached out to John Goudie Electric and they were excellent in providing a quick quote and scheduling an appointment on a day that worked with our schedule. They also provided guidance and suggestions on adding dimmers to our lights, which we greatly appreciated!They did an amazing job installing the sconces we chose, and fixed the issues we had with the garage door and outdoor lights.

Quick and excellent service. I had an electrician from a different company come out to diagnose an issue with a lack of power in a bedroom. After several hours, he identified an issue with a neutral wire but couldnt determine the location without cutting into the drywall to locate it.Hoping to avoid the added expense of drywall repair, I called John Goudie Electrical. So glad I did! Von and Michael C. arrived on time, quickly identified and repaired the issue, and cleaned up afterwards. They were courteous, clearly explained the issue, and suggested possible future work to improve the safety of my electrical panel setup. On time as scheduled. The new service took longer than expected. They experienced a few setbacks but kept marching on. Competed the service in one day. I had one issue with the work. Their office scheduled someone to remedy the problem within a few days. The issue did not interrupt the electrical system. I will call them again for further work.

After the service I received today it was almost a requirement I made of myself to review this company. I called in today close to tears at an ongoing issue I had with my breaker and a appliance, and was on my second new dryer within two weeks (three weeks worth of dirty clothes and three messy kids, you can imagine my frustration). I had another electrician who took a look but could not figure it out. The appliance company and installer could not either!! I did a google search and this company was one of the few that came up in my area. A lot seem to be money first everything else last...mindset. They took my call instantly! I was at my whits end return my units because the dryer kept tripping the breaker and burnt up the prongs to the other dryer. They were reasonably priced and very reassuring that they likely knew what the issue was and would help me, they came out in a matter of a couple hours!! I was expecting next day or next week. Matt was my electrician, who knew he would be the superhero of my year. He actually diagnosed the issue in the matter of mins and also found a way to help me acquire reimbursement for the installer. Come to find out not only was the appliance not correctly hooked up but there also was an issue with my breaker being improperly wired creating a safety hazard that could have been very detrimental! In a matter of mins this ONE man made my biggest frustration this year and a long term issue resolved just like that!!! I can never express the amount of gratitude I have and the quickness of the companies response. I have already referred them to two more people. MAKE SURE TO TREAT MATT GREAT :) , he is def a SME (subject matter expert) and our superhero lol. Thank you all again! If you took the time to read my review and you are hesitant, I am telling you to look no further this company is who you want to get the job done without run arounds, hassle, or lack of compassion/understanding. I had these folks come in to install a light lift system. Not many companies do it and they are located in MD. I’m an hour and a half away in VA. But they came out and I really wish they were located closer to me. Their staff was courteous and professional. They were very knowledgeable. They genuinely seemed to want to be there whereas other companies I have engaged seem like they’re doing you a favor by taking your money. I was very impressed, have other future electrical needs and would love to use them if it’s not cost prohibitive to do so. I called John Goudie Electric to add additional breakers and outlets to my basement. I wanted enough power to handle a fridge and deep freezer. Mr. Goudie asked if he could stop by the next morning at 0830 to evaluate the situation (Talk about fast service!).He didnt charge me for the visit and was very courteous and professional. As soon as he returned to his office he sent me a proposal to include a full breakdown of the cost. The cost was very reasonable.He stated that he would have a technician at my house within the hour. His technician showed up as promised and was just as professional and courteous. Work was done in an hour or so.All in all, Mr. Goudie assessed the situation in the morning, sent a proposal, and a tech completed the work before noon on the same day!I am now a John Goudie Electric customer for my future projects!Thanks again Johnny!

I needed to replace a dangerous and failing 200-amp circuit breaker panel in my home. Not only did I want to fix a problem, but I also wanted to provide future electrical capabilities. I have had some electricians in to look and quote the job. None of them felt right to me. Recently, I experienced a most competent, professional, pleasant and capable team in the form of Goudie Electric. The site visit and quote were quick. Today their installation team arrived at the promised time, with smiles, and the job was completed within the quoted schedule. They worked with the county government for the permit and also the electric supply company in order to remove the old equipment and install the new. After the installation, everything worked right off the bat. Now that I have expandable capability, I will plan my future electrical projects with John Goudie. This is a Charles County family owned business. I worked the site survey and quote with the owner, my deposit with his wife, and his son and assistant completed the installation. Could not be happier with the great professional service they provided on installing my ceiling fan, kitchen pendant and recessed lights. Very efficient customer service, great communication and quick response time. Took care in protecting my cabinets and hardwood floors and did a super clean up job, too! John even set me up with a painter who arrived later in the day to repair the holes in the ceiling where my old fixtures were hung. I will definitely use them for any future electrical needs.

Excellent work done on a heavy up from 100 amps to 200 amps. Staff very friendly and professional. The two electricians one was a journeyman were very efficient. The journeyman was young and very proactive with his work...he is only 19 years old and looks like he has been doing the job for at lease 2 years or more! Very impressed! They were helpful, professional, and overall very nice. We would hire them again if we have any other electrical issues.

They were there on time and went right to work (John) the technician was very good and figured out my issue the 1st day. They had to come back the 2nd day with the parts and the Technician (John) was again on time and got the job done and even showed me what was causing my issue. The price was very fair and affordable and the work was quick and to the point. I had to call them yet again (no fault of their own) for more paperwork that was requested by my insurance company and even the young lady (Sorry I don’t know her name) who took my call and email was very nice and easy to work with. She got me the information that I needed exactly when she said that she would and I was able to send my claim to my insurance company. They have installed and/or replaced indoor and outdoor lighting as well as run new wiring and installed new dedicated outlets for computers.All of their employees have been courteous and prompt with their service calls. I especially appreciated that they cover their street shoes with surgical booties when entering our house.Anytime I called with a problem they were able to send a technician out the same day or the next day and any work that needed to be scheduled was always done within 2-4 days.They have very reasonable rates.I would highly recommend this company to anyone who needs electrical work. They gave recommendations for fan placement and other things that I didn’t even think about. The fans and dimmers were installed with zero issues, in fact, these guys made it look like the item was installed during the building phase of my house. Not a finger print or dirt. The crew was great. They showed up and started right away. They then continued their work until the job was finished. I saw nobody just sitting around. I did make a few modifications to the plans and they just did what I asked. They even told me to go to the store and get a light and they would install it for me. I did and it looks great. I had never even thought of putting in a light there.Part of the job was 140 feet of trenching to run an electrical wire. They trenched it, ran their pipe and an extra pipe I provided, they missed all the irrigation lines and they did great job backfilling it when they were finished.They even offered to repair an underground drainpipe I knew they would hit. I told them that was not part of the job and they still insisted. We finally agreed that I would repair it, if they would just leave it uncovered.I was Leary about using them at first since I didn’t know anything about them. I’m glad I chose them now. I am now a customer of theirs for any electrical work I need. I do HVAC work and have done electrical work for 46 years, so I know the trade. Trust me, from what I’ve seen, you can’t go wrong with this company.

The service I received from John Goudie Electric was fantastic! I found them randomly via google and couldnt be more pleased. I had several light fixtures and ceiling fans hung/replaced in my home as well as motion lights installed/replaced. The price was very reasonable and they were fast, courteous and professional. Not long after the installation, two of the bulbs in one of the motion lights blew out and I called to request someone to return to investigate. The request was well received and it turned out that I just needed to purchase some better light bulbs (which were recommended to me prior to the install - lesson learned). I would recommend this company to anyone looking to have lighting/electrical work done.
