We completely redid our bathroom which included changing the layout, a very complex redo of plumbing lines, new concrete bathroom floor and installation of everything new and shiny.Dave was able to turn around this scary project into a wonderfully crafted beautiful looking bathroom.He is a very super detail oriented passionate artist. The project also included demo and installation of new tiles for the passage outside the bathroom and a new sliding barn door.Unlike other contractors, we had complete freedom in selecting the materials. Dave helped us throughout this tedious process via video calls and texts.Dave also had brilliant ideas and always gave us varying cost effective options for even the tiniest details.He was very transparent and patient with us.Thanks Dave and modern home improvements for this wonderful experience.

Great quality work and craftsmanship. Amazing transformation of bathroomDavid of Modern Home improvements is a skilled contractor who provides great quality of work. He is thoroughly knowledged and is detail oriented. We enjoyed our working relationship through the renovation as he was amiable, and fun to speak to. Once we understood the rhythm of working we had transparent communications with each other which helped through the reno process.David is strong, friendly and skillful and is a one man team completeing the project all by himself for the most part. He showed great precise skill at cutting a unique solid wood custom door to fit our pocket door. He is detail oriented and clean at his work.The project was estimated for 4 weeks to complete initially but since we added additional changes, the estimate was rightly updated to another 4 weeks. But the project in total took longer. It would have been nicer to have a more closer to realistic time estimate provided initially so we could have been better prepared. Luckily we did not have any delays due to materials. David was also communicative, and that helped us adapt and informed.The communication related to contracts, change orders and payments were well executed which was very helpful and always kept things clear and unambiguous.If you are looking for a skillful and friendly person to help you with your renovation, David is the contractor you need to talk to.Overall Im very happy with how our bathroom turned out and highly recommend Modern home improvements for their quality work. The pictures are proof of a great transformation!Overview:Size of bathroom: medium-sized approx 8×10.Time taken: 4.5 months from date of demo to final task of installing glass door.Quality: Top notch and detail oriented.Summary of work done: full renovation including rerouting plumbing, fixing ceiling joists, adding new electrical, removing radiator, replacing window, adding a secondary door, a pocket door and adding insulation, adding bidet.

Modern Home Improvements did our whole backyard renovation with the above ground swimming pool deck and fencing. We are extremely impressed and happy with the craftsmanship, quality and design of our deck. It looks like a 5 star personal luxury oasis. Highly recommend Dave and his team.

We hired Dave and Modern Home to repair our family room which was severely damaged due to a water leak. The quality of his work combined with the reliability of his schedule makes it very easy to highly recommend Dave and Modern. Im not looking for home repair issues in the future but if they occur Modern Home will be first on my list to handle them. Last but not least Dave is a pleasure to speak with, he is the type of person you feel comfortable leaving in your home alone working, just a nice person.

We hired Modern Home Improvements to fix problems we discovered in the home we purchased that had been flipped by another contractor. We found David to be refreshingly upfront - other contractors had recommended making certain changes and improvements and David helped us to determine what was truly necessary, understanding that we were on a tight budget. David did renovations to improve my kitchen layout/cabinets/backsplash, electrical work, painting, plumbing, and a number of other jobs. We are really happy with the end results of everything. The one downside was that the work took longer than expected, however this is because I kept adding things to the work order and because David and his team are perfectionists and make sure to take the time to do the job right, rather than rushing through it. David and his team also encountered work that was done poorly by the previous contractors and went above and beyond to fix it - including bad electrical wiring. We had no idea that this problem even existed so we really appreciated that David told us about it and took the time to fix it. At one point, David was not satisfied with the way a paint job came out and took an extra day to redo it himself, even though I hadnt noticed anything wrong with it! We really appreciated the attention to detail. Its also rare to find a contractor that you can trust to leave alone in your home (with pets too). Modern Home Improvements is also really easy to communicate with about pricing and availability, something that is rare for these types of companies these days. We will definitely be repeat customers.

David from modern home improvement transformed our dark and dusty unfinished basement into a beautiful bright and open space that our family now loves to spend time in. He also turned our old, unused basement bathroom into the most beautiful bathroom in the house! Given the old age of our house, this project was full of oddities and challenges, and almost every part of it needed to be customized. David delivered with such creative and thoughtful work to adapt to these challenges and make everything blend together in a tasteful way. Given the customized nature of the project David’s craftsmanship and attention to detail was instrumental to making it a success. We truly appreciate his creativity and ability to help us find the best solutions to all these challenges, all while being mindful of our budget.

Dave remodeled master bathroom and kids bathroom. First of all, I would say the workman ship with the tiles is really great. For a full remodeling project, he was very meticulous with work and end result for the master bath is really great. He has some great ideas, he also listens to your ideas and suggestions. The other great thing is you can control the budget by ordering from Amazon or any other sites. In fact he suggested us to go with these sites to save money. He likes to help with any minor stuff..which usually other contractors don’t do. He worked over some weekends to finish the job. Apart from some time management, he is best contractor to hire.. I would definitely recommend.

IF YOU NEED A CONTRACTOR IN THE MORRISTOWN AREA, HIRE DAVE AND MODERN HOME IMPROVEMENTS!!!Last August, I was moving apartments and was looking for a contractor to come touch up the wear and tear I had put my apartment through over the past year. There were various holes I had drilled into the walls to hang picture frames, etc, and i have a pet that had chewed the trip on my windowsill, and baseboard throughout my apartment. Being fresh out of college and new to the workforce, I was looking for someone to come by and fix it for cheap so that I could get my security deposit back.Dave came by, took one look at the various needs and refused to do the work because he didnt want to charge me for his time. Instead, free of charge, Dave supplied me with the materials and showed me how to fix the damages myself. He went out of his way to make sure I had the materials to do the job and even made himself available over the phone to assist me with any questions that I had as I went about the repair process. Dave even checked back in on me a few days later to make sure that I was all set. All free of charge.I have never met a more honest, kindhearted businessman who truly wants to help his clients. 10/10 would recommend.

It’s hard to find a contractor that provides the same level of attention and detail to contracts, both large and small, like Dave and Modern Home Improvements.After buying and renovating the interior of our home, we still had some touch up work needing to be done and we are so thankful (and happy) Dave was available. The painting, caulking and other touch up work was top notch. Additionally, all the advice and guidance he spoke to us about regarding anything home-related was great. Our only regret was not finding him to do our initial interior reno!
