I want to give 2 stars on the scheduling and office department, but the 5 stars are for the 2 Technicians. who handled my scheduling and plumbing issue with professionalism, and kindness going the extra mile to help. At first had trouble scheduling a dispatch out to assess my needed service. Took 2 days, and later into the evening on the second day, before an after hours on call Technician took the time to look into my no call no show scheduled dispatch’s. Was told a Technician will arrive between an hour window on the 3rd day to re-fix a previous issue they fixed 4 years prior.

I called Roto-Rooter to clear a drain that had been clogged for several days. I had tried plunging and chemical drain cleaners to no avail. I called around 9 in the morning and the operator promised me someone would be out in an hour. I think it took about an hour, and my service person arrived. We discussed the country plumbing and he decided on a course of action. My plumber was Wesley. He allowed me to see the drain line and how we knew a clog was being cleared. It was very helpful. The whole process took at least an hour and a half, then a supervisor came and put a scope into the sewer line. I have roots in my main line--sad face. The cost was $480 to clear the line. I recently moved from LA and know of less expensive rooter services there, but I am in a bind here because I am out in the county and dont have much of a network. The good news is that I can use the bathroom again.

As usual major leaks happen on the weekends. I was glad to have saved Roto-Rooters e-mail with their direct local dial in number. I quickly reserved a confirmation e-mail that a plumber would be sent to my hope Sunday morning. Cori did an amazing job!! He arrived and I explained the situation. He told me that expected price range based on the initial discovery efforts and noted that as soon as he found the problem he would be able to give me better cost to repair the leak. As soon as he discovered the problem he explained what would be required to fix the leak and gave me a new price quote to proceed with the repair. He was attentive and intentional in his explanation of what he would be doing. Upon the completion of the job, he told me the parts he had to purchase were not as expensive as they were last week, so the price was closer to the one originally quoted. In this time of prices being so unpredictable, I really appreciate Coris honesty in telling me what I should expect to pay. After several hours of his dedicated effort in the hot and humid climate, he asked me to test the water lines in the home. Im once again a very happy Roto-Rooter customer and although I hope I dont have to reach out to them again, I wont hesitate on calling them back.

He not only went upstream but also down to make sure that the clod didnt potentially become a problem a few months later. I really think that he’s the guy that should be training any staff. These guys were literally superheroes after another unprofessional plumbing company totally did a no show no call and me and my family could not use the restrooms in the house. Jose showed up on time and spent an hour trying to locate our leak. He could determine that we had a leak but there was no indication of where it might be. We were all concerned that it was under the slab. He told us to start on the front yard and if we didnt find it there then we would need to call a leak detection company. Making sure we were taken care of and our problem is solved was his main focus. Making money off of our problem was not his focus. That is very refreshing in todays world.

Of course we need it fixed quickly and rotor rooter answered late on a Saturday night and were here Sunday morning before 10am. Great and responsive but emergency repairs are always pricey.2nd visit - One of our movers was convinced that the valve behind the refrigerator was broken and would not turn off. Roto Rooter came out and understood how the valve worked and immediately showed us that the guy just didn’t push hard enough and the valve was working properly. The technician was friendly and prompt and we were so happy that with his expertise/honesty we avoided a costly repair.

Contacted RotoRooter and had 3 people arrive at our house within 30 minutes of placing the call. Sal, Plumbing Technician, was awesome. Very professional, knowledgeable, and walked us through the process of what was going on with our drain. Within 10 minutes of his arrival he was able to remove the clog from our drain. Victor, the Supervisor, just like Sal was very professional and courteous. He ran his camera down the drain so we could see what was causing the issue and blocking the drain. He walked us through step by step of the procedures he was going to do and executed them flawlessly. Finally there was Kacie. She was with the Water Restoration department. Again she was very professional, knowledgeable, courteous. She walked us through all the procedures needed to contact our insurance company and was very patient as we dealt with that. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!

Once the plumber arrived, assessed the problem, it took less than five minutes to unclog the only toilet in my home. I was pleased with his service and professionalism.I initially called around 12:40 PM, placed a request for service and was told that the plumber would arrive in 2 hours. I received an text message with the Roto-Rooter phone number at 12:42 PM.As I had not heard from anyone, around 6:50 PM I called the Roto-Rooter phone number listed in the text message to inquire about the delay. Missy was unable to locate my request for service. She did a thorough search, but ended up having to redo the request. I was told the dispatcher would call soon to give me an estimated time of arrival. I waited around 15 minutes then called again, only to find out the dispatcher was at lunch. Around 7 PM I received a phone call from the dispatcher who noted that the plumber was behind and there was an approximate 90 minutes delay. I never received a phone call prior to the plumbers arrival, but he and his assistant arrived before 9 PM.As Roto-Rooter office personnel did not process the initial request at 12:40 PM correctly, I feel that I should have received a discounted visit due to my being inconvenienced, but I did not argue with the plumber as I needed service. The plumber is not responsible for the office staff issues. A discount should still be considered.

We had a sewer line backup, so called Roto Rooter to clear the line and identify the cause. They came timely and upon opening the cap, confirmed a backup. The backup was cleared within 2 minutes of starting, as the entire issue was within one foot of the sewer line stem. The technician on scene had no camera, so she left and a few hours later, another technician came and put a camera through the line, confirming no issues all the way to the street, other than within 1 foot of the stem pipe. I was told that the pipe had broken and shifted at the junction of the mainline and stem, and would be $2500 to fix. Not knowing any better, we proceeded in the process, and Roto-Rooter was supposed to come at 8am the next morning. They did not. About 2pm the next day, I called and was told they couldn’t find the invoice number and would call me back in 5 minutes. I received a voicemail about 3 hours later, informing me that the plumber did not come out, but they sent someone to dig a hole. I then went on google, and within 3 minutes, identified the issue was that the knockout plug that is used when the home was built to test the integrity of the pipes, was not fully knocked out. This is not overly common, but easy to diagnose based on the backup originating at the stem (where the knockout plug would have been located, the “broken pipe” being yellow in color vs white like the rest of the piping, and confirming no other issues). The next morning, I went to the property, reached my hand in and pulled out the rest of the knockout plug, fixing the issue. At best, the Roto-Rooter technician who inaccurately diagnosed the issue was uninformed, lacked expertise and the as incorrect. At worst, it was an attempt to fraudulently overcharge and over-repair, given this was really a 2-minute fix at no cost or damage to my property. I would suggest working with an experienced and informed plumber, not Roto-Rooter as they send out poorly trained and uninformed technicians in an attempt to cut corners.These discussions were with Steve Smith, Excavation Manager, who I felt was very rude and lacked the willingness to discuss and hear reason.UPDATE: I received a call from Tim Crockett, who is the Master Plumber. We had a nice conversation and he understood the issues at hand. Ultimately, we resolved the issues, which I appreciate and has restored my faith in his handling of Roto-Rooter.
