    Our house was built in 1898. We were having problems securing homeowners insurance this year because the electrical system had never been adequately updated. Tony came to the. house to assess the system and to recommend an appropriate course of action to bring the house to current code.Stephen, Malachi, and at times others worked to install a new 200 amp panel and to replace old wiring as needed. They were always polite, communicative, and careful in what was an obviously challenging situation. The work took 5 days and came in under the reasonable bid we had been given. Kudos to the entire team for a fantastic job. We would highly recommend MES!!

    We had Mechanical Energy Systems out to our house today to rewire and install a new ceiling fan. We had expected they would need to cut a hole into the wall to ba able to add a new switch and fish the wiring to everything. Stephen G had to make exactly 1 hole, and that was the hole for the junction box in the ceiling, which was covered by the fan anyway. This man crawled up between the trusses from our furnace room! He also ran an extra wire in case we ever want to hook up the light kit that came with the fan! You could barely tell he had been there(except for the new fan), there was no mess and nothing out of place. We are always so happy with the great service we get, and this time was no different.

    Mechanical Energy is our go to company!Our water heater went out and they were there the very next morning to replace it, Terry and Dallas were professional and quick! They cleaned up after themselves and did a great job. Was so happy not to miss a hot shower!!They installed a whole home humidifier system for us as well. John was meticulous! I’m so glad we went to whole home system instead of refilling those small household ones in every room. Finally our house humidity is stable all winter!!We’ll choose Mechanical Energy every time!

    Great experience with Mechanical Energy - they cleaned our furnace and vents. Very clean and efficient. We also had an issue with a supplemental water heater. Their plumber team was fantastic. They offered multiple solutions and estimates to find the best fit for us. Trevor and Jesse did an outstanding job and took care of our concern.

    I got an EV and quickly learned I wanted a Level 2 charger in my detached garage. Biggest problem was that this was in December. They ran the line in a PVC pipe for the winter and came back to finish the install in the summer after I dug the trench. They did an amazing job and were able to quickly get me on the schedule. I wouldnt hesitate to for a second to use MES, again.

    Mechanical Energy has done multiple jobs for me over the years from a new air conditioner, plumbing repairs, electrical work, a major master bathroom remodel to a simple job of cleaning my furnace and they have been very professional and have done a great job each and every time!     We had a mini split heat pump installed on 6-24-24.John M. Installed the unit & Nick S. was the electrician. They did an unbelievable job on everything.     Mechanical Energy Systems is Our Go-to vendor when it comes to any service MES can provide us. We become familiar with MES in 2010 when we did a whole-house utility update, New: 3-Stage Furnace, Heat Pump, Air Purification System, and Humidification System.We interviewed 4 vendors to full-fill Our needs. MES was not the Least nor the Most expensive. They offered: 1. what made the most sense us, 2. the widest variety of all utility services, including follow-up services, 3. demonstrated good listening skills, understanding of Our concerns, answered Our questions and a willingness to help us to save from rebates, discounts and benefit from additional opportunities not know to us; ie: off-peak pricing for electricity provided through Steans Electric for certain utilities such as: the heat pump and electric heat for Our/ my Outbuilding Shop.We have not been disappointed. We use MES for annual inspections of our utility purchases and that has paid dividends. MES Techs have found issues prior to the issue becoming a troublesome problem AND in several cases, made a repair covered by warranty; resulting in no additional cost to us. We do service (clean regularly) our furnace filters, which takes 15-20 every so often - whenever the thermostat tells me its time.Moat recently, our 50 gallon gas water heater sprung a leak. It was still a minor leak at the time of discovery by an MES Tech who was here to carryout our Fall furnace cleaning, exam and inspection. M ES makes such a need a high priority and came the same day to remove the old and install a new 50 gal. heater for us; thus we had uninterrupted hot water service.As a customer of MES, we receive a 5% discount on purchases, priority service, the opportunity to use Value Connection Certificates towards a statement or services and the ability to use a cash back credit card on any statement balance. I suspect MES may provide special financing opportunities, but we have never needed that if available, so I can not confirm this possibility, you have to ask. 1Finally, this is a volunteer review and NOT paid review. We have been very satisfied over 14 years with all aspects of our interactions with All employee contacts and service provided by Mechanical Energy Systems. We Trust our review demonstrates our highest recommendation of MES.

    I had been using Mechanical Energy Systems in the past for my heating and air conditioning needs and been very pleased with their service. I was shopping around for an electrician to work on a kitchen remodel in a 70 year old house, and when I found out Mechanical Energy Systems had an electrical division, I called them up. I felt very confident after meeting with Tony to go over the work. Steven and Chris spent 3 days wiring and rerouting circuits for the kitchen and making sure there werent any circuits removed or rewired that affected other circuits in the house. (In a house built that long ago, its easy to work on a kitchen circuit and find out it also ties in to a living room circuit) The kitchen electrical work passed inspection with no problems. Im very happy with the job. I plan on using Mechanical Energy Systems in the future to upgrade some circuits in my garage.

    Mechanical Energy Systems did an awesome job with a challenging project that other electricians didn’t want to touch. Our story-and-a-half 1911 house still had the old knob and tube wiring threaded through the walls. A must-do and potentially a disaster. Other electricians we contacted either didn’t want the job or gave us open-ended bids. Tony and Nate gave us a clear bid, came on-site with us to explain the work, and then adapted the project to accommodate additional upgrades we wanted, including adding outlets, installing a continuous circulation fan, and wiring for a heat pump. They also looked for ways to keep the character of our old house, helping us find an item to replace what we now know is an antique but out of code rotary light switch. Their team of Stephen, Jordan, and Luckas completed the work on schedule. Most impressively, they fished wire through our walls without cutting holes in the plaster. We were prepared to having another big project after they were finished and instead we just walked in and enjoyed the house.Not everyone has this tricky a job but the attention to detail and the quick and clear communication from planning through job completion would be an asset to any project. As fine an experience with contractors as we’ve ever had. Highly recommended.

    Weve used this company twice on short notice issues that have come up in our house. Once for electrical and once for plumbing. Both times they were able to fit us in between clients the same day. The service providers have always been professional, thorough and and very fast. The prices have always been reasonable as well. We do a lot of house projects and have renovated three houses, we were just complaining how awful the customer service can be. This business has great customer service and we will be using them for all our mechanical systems needs in the future.

    My furnace died in the middle of the night. I called for service and the repair person was at my house by 10 AM. He was courteous and professional, give me a rough estimate after diagnosing the issue, and proceeded to fix it. I was able to pay immediately rather than waiting for an invoice to be sent from their main office, and felt that the price is reasonable for the repair. I am very satisfied with the good service from this company.

    Great services! We requested service about a year ago at our previous house. Everything was repaired efficiently. Moving was bitter sweet. I had the furnace and heating system repaired at both locations along with major electrical problems. Another company installed two thermostats incorrectly. Mechanical energy diagnosed the issue and we are warm for the coming winter. I highly recommend their services. Contact them and get repairs done the first time. When I need repairs, they are just a phone call away!

    I cannot say enough good things about Tony and his team and how they saved me!!!! I bought a hot tub in early July and called several extremely well-known and reputable electricians in St. Cloud (one of which I have worked with multiple times in the past). I was repeatedly deferred by those companies and was frustrated with the lack of help and communication I received. I called Mechanical Energy Systems and talked to Tony and he was extremely responsive. Not only did he contact me right away but he also came out the next day and helped me understand different options for placement of my hot tub that we’re best for wiring access, but he also worked me into their busy schedule for the very next week! (I waited over a month for other companies to even return my call). Tony arrived the following week ahead of his crew’s arrival. He explained to them everything I needed and where I wanted it. They were incredibly professional and were diligent with their work and cleaning up after the job. What other companies weren’t able to do in over a month, Tony fixed for me in under a week! Mechanical Energy Systems has earned a new customer. I will be returning to them for all of my future projects. A+ would highly recommend!!!

    A+ rating for me, I cant thank Mechanical Energy Systems enough and the amazing tech Dalton L. who saved my bacon on Christmas eve when our furnace broke. They thankfully had the part on hand that was needed to repair our furnace when other companies said they didnt. The tech Dalton L that came out was amazing talking with him on the phone we were able to confirm the issue and we was able to get to my house that night. He was able to do some quick work to replace the broken part and got everything working again and heating the house. Definitely recommend them for repairs and will be looking at having them look over the house soon as well.

    Edit: Dan from the company reached out to me and apologized for the office and mismatched billing that was sent. The price difference was refunded. The service itself was fabulous and the tech was great. I’m glad I was able to speak with Dan to get everything sorted out. My original review is still below, but overall my review is: great work and labor, office staff needs a little fine tuning.Bummed to have read all the good reviews here, had them come do a job and then have to leave a 1 star review. I needed an on/off valve placed on the gas line going to my stove and needed a new water line to the refrigerator. They said it would take about 4hrs and cost about $400 if it actually took the full 4 hours. The plumber came and did a fantastic job and was done in just under 2 hours, he gave me the write up for labor, parts, etc and it came out to be about $250, which seemed reasonable and more inline to what I figured it would actually take to complete. A week later got a bill in the mail for $400+. My husband and I both called on multiple occasions to discuss what happened and why they were charging us for time and labor that has actually not been provided. We were given the run around, talk to this person, no talk to this person, etc. then while trying to figure out the bill, we got hit with “late payment” fees. No one ever answered any of the concerns or questions but we finally just paid the bill to be done with the company and promised to never use them again. Awful office staff to work with.

    I own a 1930s house that still had some of the old wiring in place. Mechanical Energy Systems worked hard to get the work done with the least amount of plaster repair possible. They also installed a new smoke alarm system.Im very happy with the work. I would hire them again, and I will definitely recommend them to family and friends.The team of electricians showed up at about the same time every day, they were courteous, hard-working, and asked questions when there were decisions to be made. I was so very impressed by the quality of the work headed up by Tony in electrical and Eric in plumbing! Tony and his fine crew installed new recessed lighting in my kitchen as well as installed two new bathroom wall electrical outlets. Eric and his plumbing crew installed two American Standard ACTi clean Self Cleaning toilets and remote controlled bidets .I couldnt be more pleased with the professional and knowledgeableservice.     I knew the flammable vapor sensor code was repeatedly causing me issues and throwing a fault code. I was able to YouTube a reset code, but this time it wouldn’t reset.     I called right away at 8 am about an issue with my heating system. We have a very high tech system and knowledge in the area is very limited. Right away I was told associate will contact me on there way and by noon someone was at my home. The company was extremely honest and it was something in the settings, something so easy and simple but meant the difference of us having heat. The technician showed me and explained things, re set our system to the correct settings and was on his way. The company was extremely reasonable and honest with us during a time they could have taken advantage of us however that is not how this company operates!! We used them to maintenance our equipment an we will continue to use them because of their expertise and reasonable pricing... Hands down one of the best experiences with a company!!     We heard a whistle sound coming from our new furnace that got installed this past winter. We called MES and Bob said it would be best to have a tech come and check it out. The Tech found out for some unforeseen reason some condensation got in and corroded the blower motor. Not sure if it was heating or the cooling. They ordered the new blower and we got it installed by Cody today and he also made sure to re pipe the install so this would not happen again.     My furnace failed on a very cold October evening. I called Mechanical Energy Systems at 8 AM the next morning and before 10:30 service technicians Bryan and Cody were at my home.     I have been experiencing heating problems with my boiler and had called upon other technicians last Fall who could offer no solutions or remedies. We went through the last Minnesota winter by using a very costly auxiliary heating system but were very cold.     I had to have some hardwired led lights replaced at the hotel I work for about 25 feet in the air and next to our pools. I had a working relationship with an electrical contractor that was working on a remodeling job for our GC and the GC used MES for their plumbing and HVAC. Shortly after this, MES acquired the electrical contractor and we followed him over and began using MES for all our Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC both at the homes we have owned during this time and our business property. I admit, I was hesitant to take my business to a “big” company since I had existing relationships with other trades businesses, but it didn’t take long to realize that working with one company that handles and can coordinate these services was beneficial. For nearly 10 years, if I need any new electrical, plumbing, or HVAC equipment or need existing equipment services, it is just one phone number, and they get it taken care of.     We hired MES for our hot tub install after getting estimates from two other companies. Tony was incredibly helpful and honest in giving us advice and different options for the hot tub and a couple extra outlets that we needed to alleviate some overload issues that we were having. He was more than willing to come out a second time when the project plans changed a bit and was in constant contact in order to coordinate the work with the hot tub delivery and set up. The two electricians that came out to complete the project were friendly, helpful and professional with us and the hot tub installers. They did great work and labeled everything that they did in the breaker box and showed me where everything was and how it worked and why it was installed. Hard to believe that this incredible customer service came at a FRACTION of the cost (estimate) of the other companies (literally less than one fourth the cost of one of their competitors). This is the second project that we have hired Mechanical Energy Systems for (had to move and rewire our A/C unit a few years back) and both times we were VERY happy with their work, customer service, and price.

    We have used Mechanical Energy Systems previously for ac installation, sewer work, and most recently for the plumbing and electrical work for a new dishwasher. They have been very efficient throughout the entire process and were able to give us a quote and have the work all finished within a week. The employees are very easy to work with and are great at explaining all possible options in a way that is easy to understand. I highly recommend this companys service after our great experiences!

    Tony and the team of electricians were very professional and easy to work with. They were able to come in with a great quote and follow that up with quality workmanship on install. The electrician went above and beyond to install grounding wires that were needed for the hot tub out of sight. We are very happy with the service from start to finish!

    TOP Notch customer service all around. While other companies strung me along with we can be there in two weeks...then give us another 10 days... MES had the job done in 7 days. If you are renovating this is your contractor as they handled our heating, plumbing ( even little things like leaky facets), and electrical upgrades. This is our second experience in using this company for two 80+ year old homes which leads to creative decisions. SUPER TEAM !

    Our AC went out during the first heat wave early June. We eventually decided to have both furnace and AC replaced by Mechanical Energy in late July. Many hot days/nights in between!     I would highly recommend mechanical energy systems for electrical work. I recently had my garage rewired as it was poorly done when i bought the house. Tony is great to deal with and the guys did a superb job on the install. Their work is very clean,fast and rhe price was very affordable. Wish i would have not waited this long!!!
