My parent’s house had storm damage where a tree knocked down our utility pole and power line, and this was the first place I happen to call after reading reviews. I called him at 7:30 PM Saturday night, and he had a job completed just two days later on Monday afternoon. The only reason why we had to wait until Monday was because NIPSCO said we were responsible for the telephone pole, so Dave ordered one for us and had it delivered on Monday for him to install. We will definitely use him again!

Leo did an awesome job installing our light fixtures and ceiling fan! We had an issue with the ceiling fan after it was installed (which is my husband’s forpushing the wrong button!) so we called Dave the owner and Leo was back at our place in 20 minutes and undid what the hubby did! Their pricing is very reasonable and they are very respectful. I highly recommend Kouder for you electrical at home. Thank you, Dave and Leo!

I hired DAVID from Kouder Electric. He came in assessed that I had a wiring problem. He went to the area that was affected and he figured it out pretty quick. I got to say Dave knows his electric I would definitely recommend Dave to all of my family and friends He is really good at what he does. I contacted Kouder Electric and Construction for an estimate on installing can lights. Kouders price was lower than the other estimates that I had received. I decided to go with Kouder because of price and fast response. I was not disappointed. David Kouder did a great job. He was efficient, tidy, polite and tested everything he installed before leaving. I will use Kouder Electric & LED Services for any future needs.

I called David to look at my Panel Box and he noticed that I had a federal pacific. Those panels are illegal now he came out give me a great quote and changed the box without delay Leo his worker who is a very nice gentleman. I would recommend DAVID to all my family and friends.

Highly recommend! I needed an electrician to come out quickly to replace an bathroom exhaust fan to stop black mold and it was Dave to the rescue. Every one else i called was booked out weeks, but due to my medical conditions Dave came out the same day!!!! Dave and his staff showed up on time and fixed it super quick. He even took the time to look at a outlet that has never worked and fixed it to!!!! Dave and Bill were very sweet and professional and werent afraid of my 90lb lap dog.

He was very punctual, VERY professional, He found time to fit me in to his schedule immediately and his generosity and pricing are one of a kind. HIS SERVICE IS UNMATCHED in the Portage area. I would recommend highly any day of the week.

Dave was great! Called me back right away when I left a message and came right out to my house to fix my underground line that I cut. He went to menards to buy the parts he needed and came right back and fixed it within minutes. Very very reasonably and fairly priced! He especially didn’t price gouge in the time of crisis and a 6pm late night call. 10/10 would recommend Dave!

I needed some outlets and a ceiling fan installed in my office. I called David on a Thursday and he came out on a Friday. He was very responsive and professional. I saw a few negative reviews on the page but these reviews don’t reflect my experience with Kouder Electric. Have some work to be done on a flip very soon and will definitely be calling David back again. Highly recommend Kouder Electric!

Dave was awesome. I had been trying to get a company to come out and disconnect a line from my meter and they had me waiting on them for over 3 weeks finally I gave up and called Kouder on a sunday. Dave was at my house in 15 minutes and had the job done in no time. I would definitely recommend and in fact I am using them again for more work. Thank you Dave for being so awesome.

They went above and beyond to help me and my wife get our electricity back working. For us, it always starts with whoever answers the phone. Are they nice, pleasant, courteous, etc...She was all of that. John was our electrician and he was extremely nice and helpful. he was on time as promised and finished the job in good time. He was also very patient with explaining the work to my wife. I cant thank you guys enough and will certainly use this company and recommend to others as well.

We called 911 when we found an outlet in our youngest sons bedroom melting and smoke pouring out of it and the wall was hot. The firefights cleared us to go back in but informed us to keep the circuit off until we were able to find an electrician to fix it. This happened around 5:30 in the evening by the time I was able to start searching for an electrician it was after 7pm. David answered right away and came out the same night to fix the outlet and upon taking the cover off realized two positive wires were rubbing together causing a spark and sparked a large flame. Had he not come out it could have been tragic. He was extremely detailed and helpful. I am so grateful that I found him and he came out the same evening to help us. Thank you David. Highly recommend him, he’s the best!

This man is a life saver. We lost power to half of our home and I decide to give him a call. He showed up in less that 30 minutes. He not only fixed our problem i called about but he went beyond and fixed another outside electrical outlet I was telling him i was having issues with. Called David for a quote on some Home repair, as our ancient fusebox had failed and was in need of an upgrade. Got a call back less than hour later and he visited and quoted all within the hour. David and Julio got all the work we needed done on the next appointment, a new Fuse box and Subpanels.David even reccomended and quoted for future work we would need done to get our house safer, but wasnt pushy At All, he was very understanding of our financial situation.Reccomend this Service to anyone that wants fair and prompt service, he works with ya to get the job done.

I believe his name was Dave. He came 1 1/2 hours after I talked to him (other places said they were pushed out for a week) and had the issue resolved in less then 10 mins and it was pretty inexpensive. Im so happy to finally have my outlet working.

Positive UPDATE at the BottomJuly 2016, we hired Dave of Kouder Electric to put 15 LED can lights in and install our foyer light with a dimmer switch (also led). They were also suppose to make the outlets that were connected to the lights to be permanently on/hot so that we can operate other things like vacuums without having to turn the lights on in order to have the outlets work.Result: We cant use our foyer light without looking like were hosting a rave party because they strobe 9 times out of 10. Lucky were a healthy family or that thing could be seizure causing. Our outlets are NOT permanently on/hot so when we vacuum in the middle of the day, we still need to turn on our lights.We have TRIED SOOOOO many times to get him to come out to resolve the issues and after a year, its STILL not fixed. Most of the time he doesnt answer his phone or texts, when he does and says that hell show....he doesnt. The most recent being that he said hell get some guys to fix it on June 13th at 9am. No one showed or called. I called and after multiple attempts he answers at 9:43am and said that Im still on the schedule but his guys have to go to Chicago to pick up ladders and itll take about 2 hours before getting to me. At first I was ok with it because I forgot I had meeting out of the home from 12:30 - 2:30pm. I called the office line and asked if I could be rescheduled to 3pm. They couldnt do it but the secretary promised that the guys will be out today (Wednesday June 14 from 8-9am). AGAIN no show and no call. What a shock right? I called Dave on his private line and business line a number of times: 8:48am (he responds by text, Sorry, Im on a call right now.), 9:14am (he responds by texted, Cant talk, Call you in 15 minutes), 9:43am (I left a message), and 10:03am. Its 12pm now and still nothing.I also texted The guy still hasnt shown. Are they still coming today? at 8:50am *crickets*Did I mention he has my tape measure? Not that I cant afford to replace it but its the principle of things especially all thats NOT happening at that moment.LESSON: If you have all the time in the world to chase around a guy whos non-responsive, undependable, and does ok work that may need fixing but it may never get fixed, Kouder Electric is your go to then.UPDATE: Shortly after this review, Dave contacted me and had me contact his new personal assistant/electrician, Oliver, who set me up a same day appointment. He came when he said he would, fixed all my issues (yes my issues were due to it being wired wrong), and even gave me a replacement tape measure. Turns out that the previous guy made a lot of mistakes so I was only one in a long line with similar outstanding issues. Hope all the people will now have their issues fixed soon since Oliver is legit. I no longer have to turn the lights on in the middle of the day to vacuum and no more rave party in the foyer. If I ever need an electrician again, Oliver said I could call him directly since hell be overseeing scheduling, estimates and repairs.
