Douglas Cooling and Heating went above and beyond my expectations! Brandon, the service technician, was smart, thorough, polite, and incredibly informative. Most importantly, he was honest. For years, I dealt with a dripping coil issue that two major HVAC companies misdiagnosed, costing me money, health problems, and constant headaches. One of these companies even had me on a maintenance plan and recommended replacing my entire system for over $20K.Brandon came in, diagnosed the issue correctly, and fixed it quickly, saving me from unnecessary expenses. His expertise and transparency were refreshing after the frustrating experiences with other “Major “ companies. I cant recommend Douglas cooling and Heating enough—top-notch service!I am forever grateful (Thank You)!

I had my Bryant unit serviced today by Douglas and it was a great experience. The technician was L.J. and he couldn’t have been more knowledgeable about my system. He did a great job at answering all my questions. I am a Robotics Engineer and it was impressive to hear him talk about my HVAC system like I talk about robots. Very high level. He found my starter capacitor out of tolerance with his meter and explained to me what it meant. So, I bought a capacitor as well. It’s very refreshing to meet Tradesmen that know their craft, and that are personable with a great attitude.Great experience. Ya’ll need to promote that guy

Douglas Cooling and Heating solved a problem I had with keeping a room above my garage heated and cooled. Keith was able to identify my problem and suggest the Mitubishi Single Zone Heat Pump. Jamie and Terry had my unit installed in 8 hours and took meticulous care with covering my carpet and their walking path to their truck. Very impressive. Ricky and Russell installed dampers to cut the air flow to that room in order to keep the main area of the upstairs cool. They did a great job of not tracking a mess around my house since they had to work in my attic and were finished by mid morning. Again, very impressive. John came to train us on how to operate my new unit and adjust the dampers if needed. Sara was very sweet and handled payment by phone. I am a very satisfied customer and highly recommend the team at Douglas Heating and Cooling.

Douglas installed a new Bryant heating and air system for us this week. After getting estimates from three companies, we chose Douglas. They are an excellent company. Jamie and Terry installed the system and were awesome. They were on time, knowledgeable, worked non-stop, neat, considerate and NICE. Their love of their jobs was obvious.They were very thorough and double-checked everything related to the new system before they left. They even did some extra things at no charge. Having been homeowners for 41 years we appreciate courteous, professional, friendly, and especially fair service from a company. Douglas is all this and more.

I recently moved to the area and needed to replace a 15 year-old water heater. The Douglas representative came out and we talked through the options without any high-pressure sales pitches, and I received a quote with four different options the same day, all of which were very competitive with quotes I had received from two other reputable companies. The work was completed exactly as described on the schedule that was agreed to. The technicians who did the installation were competent, friendly and respectful. I have found my new plumbing and HVAC guys in Bham and highly recommend them.

Highly professional recommendation for water heaters. Technician who originally visited was much more knowledgeable than the other two companies who provided estimates. I also felt that he was more concerned about my issues. Installation was extremely efficient - no mess or damage. The units are very organized connections aligned and in general highly professional. No corners cut and sloppy work. Very reasonably priced.

The technician was very helpful. He came out to take a look at a noise that my system was making just prior to the major cold storm that hit the nation. He could’ve taken me for so much of my money. But he was honest and forthright. He reconfigure my system to work properly and that stop the noise it was making and saved untold amounts of damage that could’ve been done.

Jonathan was my technician that came out today to replace what I thought was a bad ignitor on my gas fireplace. He was quickly able to identify that the ignitor was fine that I just needed some general/preventative maintenance done and my fireplace is now working. Besides just fixing the problem, he took the time to explain to me what went wrong and he kept me informed on what he was doing the entire time. Ive got to say that he is one of the most friendly and professional technicians I have ever worked with from any company hands down. Im extremely satisfied with his help today and with Douglas Cooling and Heating as a whole. Every company that works with the public needs to have several Jonathans! Ive trusted these folks for two years, during a giant renovation of my home. We did two different AC units + a dehumidifier over the course of the project and their pricing has always been competitive, their techs are friendly and skilled, when theres a mistake they fix it, and their yearly maintenance and service checkups are really convenient.

I called Douglas Cooling and Heating late yesterday afternoon. They were able to send a tech by morning! I wasnt expecting such fast survice b/c were in a heat wave. The tech, Colby, is experienced and personable. He explained what he was doing throughout the process. Colby made sure both systems were operating properly before he left. He explained what preventative maintenance I needed in the future and set me up with a plan. I felt like Colby took care of me like he would a family member. Great guy! Great service!

Delivers on their word! I called to get a custom chimney chase cover made because they (Douglas) showed up on a Google search. They called me back within hours, took my dimensions, and told me it would be ready by the next day. Guess what? It actually was. Very reasonably priced and they called me to let me know it was ready to pick up. Basically, my review is, Douglas does what they say they are going to with no suprises, which is rare these days. I highly recommend them if that is the kind of service that youre looking for.

Being without A/C in Alabama in early September is not a pleasant experience. But dealing with Douglas Cooling & Heating definitely is!Responsiveness to your problem is the first place the folks at Douglas excelled. Sarah (fabulous customer service skills!) had a technician (Richey) on the way to our place within an hour of my initial call. Once there, Richey diagnosed our problem quickly and recommended a change in equipment that would serve us well.Richey installed our new system yesterday, was very competent in doing so, and demonstrated his knowledge of HVAC systems over and over. Courteous, knowledgeable, and articulate...you don’t find those qualities often in folks who work in this area, but we sure did with Richey.Can’t say enough nice things about Douglas...we are very pleased with what they’ve done for us!!

I would recommend Douglas Heating and Air to my mother.The first thing to say is that my job wasnt easy. It required fitting a new system into older duct work, getting up to code, and off site fabrication of fitting pieces. Plus, I needed both heating and cooling. So, this job was not an easy one.With all that said, Douglas exceeded my expectations. Scheduling began the job, and the guy I talked to worked with me to find a date that would work around my homeschool schedule and my wifes work - no easy arrangement in itself. Then, the sales rep arrived to look at my system. The arrangement was just to look at what was going on, and the salesman walked in took one glance at the situation, and said, So, were replacing this, right? I had a ton of questions given such a quick response. The salesman with a patience that defies reason explained each section not up to code, the problems seen with the heating, and the failures of the cooling. Every detail was pointed out to me. Thats a level of professionalism that I havent encountered.At long last the replacement job arrives, a two man crew arrived at my house. They, initially, went through the steps of seeing where the job was and getting access. Then, the lead guy took the time to explain to me what the plan was. For example, the air conditioner would happen at this point; the heater at that point, and you may expect this, that, and the other thing during the process. As a result, I could handle the kids with the loud noises. Even after they completed the work [no small feat as I said], they showed me the results of what they did. The lead took me to each connection, showed me the outcome of the off site fabrications, and explained to me how the new thermostat worked - gave me a complete tutorial.So, if youre looking for someone to do the job with technical accuracy, youve found your crew. If youre looking for some value added as far as customer service and professionalism, then pick Douglas Heating & Air.

Very courteous and respectful. Did not take advantage of my lack of knowledge and try to sell me a new system. Great service all around.........!! I had a preventative a/c maintenance performed. Ethan was the technician. He was professional and knew his stuff. He noticed that our attic a/c unit did not have a float switch to prevent it from flooding the attic and causing ceiling damage if something went wrong. He installed a float switch for us. Who knows what future damage he prevented us from having with his recommendation! This is the 3rd preventative HVAC maintenance Ive had performed by Douglas Cooling and Heating. Ive had a different tech each time, and each one is detailed, polite, clean, and takes his time to explain what hes doing and answer my questions. I can tell that these techs all well trained.

We have a Trane AC unit and honestly, I have been negligent with getting it cleaned and checked out regularly. We called Douglas because we had used them before and been pleased with their work. The technician they sent to our house was Richey... he was extremely knowledgeable, polite, professional and thorough. The outside AC unit was extremely dirty, but Richey didn’t stop until he had it clean! It looked like a new unit! Thanks Richey! We heartily recommend Douglas for all your HVAC needs!Update: Had to call Douglas the next day; the outside unit was still having issues coming on.
