Very few companies do I give a 5-star rating to, but Renova Energy is absolutely deserving of such a rating. On February 1st I meet with our service coordinator, Mark Licon. We got our PTO (permit to operate) from SCE on the April 3rd. That was quick!Professional, knowledgeable, passion, best project manager with immediate follow up all describe how Mark handled our project. He showed me around their facility and took the time to ensure I understood what I was getting into. I met the CEO, engineers and others who do all the data to ensure proper placement of our solar system. Sun Solar even called to see if I had any questions about their panels.The crew that came out to install the system was courteous, knowledgeable and quick! They did an outstanding job installing the panels. The lead on the job checked in to make sure we didnt have any questions and let us know what they would be doing for the day. I give high marks to their installation crew as well.We had around 5 companies come out and each had their flair on trying to sell you a solar system. Mark and the Renova crew made sure we had all the information and details needed, so we could make an informed decision. They have options on purchase and a stellar leasing program. I had no intention of playing stump the salesman but we had a lot of questions about installation and energy production and usage. Mark & his Renova team answered each question. We have had a few issues with contractors upon moving here a few months back. Mark, Renova and their employees gave us a renewed faith that there are true professionals in the Valley. I recommend them to my neighbors and friends. I am sold on their business and their employees. You can tell they all are happy to be there and take pride in their work & company.Kudos Renova Energy and a special thanks to Mark Licon. Call him!

Got our solar panels from Renova recently. Enrique was our rep and he really stood out. Super good with communication, always kept us in the loop, and made sure everything was clear. The crew was efficient and tidy and wrapped things up quicker than we expected. Shoutout to Enrique for going the extra mile post-install. Looking forward to seeing the difference in our bill. All things considered, Renovas got it down, and with folks like Enrique, youre in good hands. If youre thinking solar, i highly recommend Renova.

If you are considering solar, there really is only one company to go with in the Coachella Valley, and that is Renova Energy. For this level of service and quality, I would have expected a premium price tag for this premium service, but that was never the case. Our consultant Jacob was knowledgeable, very responsive and explained exactly what to expect from start to finish. The installation itself went like clockwork- the crew leader Micah Couston and his crew Noah Parsons, Austin Locke, and Issac Tapia were professional, courteous, and most importantly, did a fantastic job. Micah checked in with me whenever I was around to make sure that they were exceeding our expectations, which they did every step of the way. Micahs boss Sylvestre Prado stopped by the project more than once to confirm the quality of the installation and to offer guidance to the crew when needed. They really went above and beyond. I feel great knowing that such a major construction project went so smoothly, and also knowing that if there are any issues in the future I have a local company I can trust to make it right.

My husband and I have been considering solar for our home in the desert for some time now. Our electric bill in the summer months is astronomical. I interviewed 3 companies and hands down, Renova energy came in as #1. One of their sales rep, Johnny Coladonato came to our home to educate us on solar. He was incredibly knowledgeable, friendly, personable and professional. He explained everything in a way that we could understand. It did not feel like the kind of sales pitch that left you uncomfortable and not trusting. The process has been flawless. Renova has had our back the whole time even when some complications arose with the HOA. They actually answer the phone when you call and more importantly return a call when a message is left. My neighbors commented on how professional and responsible the installers have been. They did not miss a day. I’m looking forward to the savings . Thank you Renova Energy!

Feedback for upper management: create systems so that your reps can communicate with each other effectively. although my experience with the solar installation was great, i had several issues with the roofing side of the business. i want renova to succeed so i’m leaving 5 stars but i hope management sees this and reaches out for more thorough feedback. i was thoroughly disappointed with the sloppy, disjointed roofing work and will not be recommending the roofing side of the business like i have with the solar side. all i want is for y’all to do better so more people can get solar and stick with it. sincerely, kate ryan

We had an amazing experience with Renova and we are so glad we went solar and included a battery. Neighbors recommended Renova after much research and we could not be happier with them. Cory Hartman, our sales rep was knowledgeable, thorough and spent a tremendous amount of time with us and continues to walk us through our system post install. The quality of their work is outstanding - Alejandro and Demetrius supervised to make sure everything was installed promptly and correctly and was working perfectly. The quality of their product and installation is superior. We especially liked that they are a one stop contact firm. They take care of all permitting, roof repair, scheduling, maintenance, etc., you dont have to deal with numerous companies to get things done.

Renova is one of the best companies Ive ever worked with. I recently had solar panels installed by Renova at our house in Palm Desert. From the initial interaction with my salesperson, Johnny Caldonato, to the people that did the inspection, and especially the installation guys, everything was top notch. Johnny clearly explained all my options and didnt oversell - I felt like I was talking to a friend Id known for years.Every meeting I had with Renova was very professional - they were always on time and ready to go to work. They guided me through the sales and permitting processes and made them easy. The install went very smoothly and the layout of the panels and the conduit was extremely well done. They were like a well-oiled machine.I cant imagine a better customer experience! And now I have a 25-year warranty and a very responsive customer service department if I need anything in the future. Couldnt recommend them more highly!

UPDATE: 5 stars for the solar panels, 5 stars for the installation team, 3 stars for the SunVault battery system. My solar panels and battery storage system have saved me a small fortune in energy costs. Battery storage allows me to generate power during the day and then use it in the evening when energy costs are highest. They also give me the confidence that during infrequent power outages, Ill have the battery reserves to manage it. The sales consultant recommended the SunVault system. I readily agreed as I had concerns about the battery competition. Its unfortunate that the maker of SunVault is going out of business. The management and team at Renova Energy are good people who really care. Im confident theyll be able to support my SunVault system in the future.

Terrific experience overall, from start to finish! Initial consultation was both insightful and straightforward. Installers showed up right when scheduled, and with minimal cleanup needed, finished the entire installation as projected. Needed to call for some minor calibration issues after install, but again, Renova responded quickly, and had a tech out to adjust the system in short order. All and all, Id say it was one of my best experiences with contractors !

When our neighbor referred us to Renova we followed up as wed read nothing but good things on the Internet about them. We found their estimate to be a good value as we had several estimates from other solar companies. We also preferred the panels they install. We felt comfortable with their reputation. Our salesperson, Chad, was on it and got us through the signing process. We had a few concerns but when Faustino with HOA Approval helped us, he put our concerns to rest. That was so important to us & we were grateful. We went on to work with many many great employees from Renova but a few stood out. Reyna, bookkeeping followed us through the whole process and was a great help. Roger on the construction team was the greatest. He was the all-time best employee I think Renova could hope to have. He was an early starter (so important in heat of desert), friendly, great communicator, followed through, always did what he said he was going to do when he said he would do it and left a wonderful lasting impression. We also had great help from Ursula on NEM Approval and Angel Lopez our Construction Manager. We had wonderful help from so many more of their employees; seemed like the list was never ending. There was support from beginning to end throughout. Their app is more user-friendly and superior to others weve seen. We feel confident theyll be around for solar panel cleaning and any repairs we might need in the far future. We would definitely highly recommend Renova for Solar Panel System.

I had an amazing experience with Renova and am so glad I not only went solar, but that I used Renova. I received multiple quotes from competitors, but Renova was far and away not only the best quality product, but had the best quality team behind them.When I received quotes, I was worried that once a sale was made, the person I received the quote from would vanish. Not so with Renova. From my initial meeting with Cory Hartman I could tell that he would be with us throughout the entire process, and that was 100% true. He remained my point of contact throughout the entire process all the way through until we were fully installed. He was (and is) incredibly professional, honest, and transparent. He made sure I understood every part of the process. I cant even imagine having worked with anyone else than Cory. The installation team was amazing, too, from Jesus the construction manager to Micah on the team to Gwen and Jeff in project management who helped navigate some complicated installation schedules and issues. The entire team was absolutely amazing and made sure everything was done with the best quality and professionalism.If youre considering solar, give Cory and Renova a call. You will not regret it!

Always stopped and answered my many questions, kept us routinely informed as to the progress. Always kept the work area well organized & did a great clean up at the end of every day.Last was Jesus, who was there to meet the city inspector. He finished up some small items & patiently re-explained the equipment and safety instructions.My new (& old) systems are working wonderfully. Working with Renova was a pleasure from start to finish. Cory Hartman was the sales rep who provided the most thorough, thoughtful presentation of the three companies from who I asked for bids. There bid wasnt the lowest, but it was very competitive. I felt that spending a bit more for professionalism and trust was worthwhile, and he proved me to be right.Another benefit was how well the company worked with the local authorities and my HOA to cut through the respective bureaucracies.The roofing crew, led by Octavio Martinez, construction manager, Silvestre Prado and the solar crew lead Alberto Tlapala always showed up on time and did great work. Everyone on the crew without exception was warm, friendly and professional.This was a big investment, and Im grateful to Renova for making sure it was executed flawlessly and made worthwhile overall.

We decided to go with SunPower for our solar panels. Mick Kaylor at Renova (who handled the installation) did an amazing job explaining the process and negotiating the setup. Everybody we interacted with at Renova were professional, good communicators, and kept us in the loop during the install. After hurricane Hilary, the panels were covered in dust/mud. After meeting with Mick, we had RenovaPlus perform a cleaning. We are now back to producing the maximum energy possible.

Fantastic the initial sales meeting with Alexi was professional, low key, and provide all of the data to perform ROI and break even points for the system. My Renova Energy system went live this week! I’m so impressed with the smoothness and timeliness of the entire process. Cortland, the senior energy consultant, was there every step of the way to explain the system, outline the installation timeline, and answer every question. Luis, the construction manager, walked me through some points of the installation, and was excellent at finding the best solutions when there were decisions to be made. The installation crew headed by Sylvester was efficient, communicative, and respectful of my needs while working. Sylvester was very conscientious about explaining the installation stages, answering any questions, and addressing my concerns. Office staff were also extremely responsive and professional. The appearance of the finished work is neat and clean. I’m also very impressed that employees are trained and educated by the company as well as being promoted from within Renova. The loyalty and commitment to customer service by the employees is readily apparent. I was told by several solar owners who used Renova Energy, including neighbors and relatives, that Renova Energy is the best. I couldn’t agree more.

There are many companies out there that install solar but after speaking with a few, Renova was by far the best choice. I looked for a company that had longevity, a good reputation, provided a good warranty, and sold the best panels. Renova fit all of the criteria. I love this group of people. Barb was my sales manager and working with her has made my first time buying solar a smooth and fun experience. She truly cares about what you need and she went above and beyond to make sure I had all the information required to make the right decision. I did get to meet some of the other team members and Julio was the head of the installation team and he and his crew were just as friendly, upbeat and professional as Barb. I interviewd multiple companies before making a decision to go with Renova. The sales process was very professional. I had a lot of questions, they were all answered more completely and timely than any of the other companies. There was a few months delay from the time I made the decision to use Renova until they were able to make the installation, however, this was all disclosed up front. The amount I was quoted is exactly what they billed me for the project. They did a very professional job, including painting the exterior and interior (garage) boxes and conduit the same color as the walls. I look forward to many years of minimal electrical bills.

All facets of the job, including planning, designing, coordination with local government for permits, and with the local electric utility were performed in an outstanding manner. BEST.CUSTOMER.EXPERIENCE.EVER. From A to Z, Renova took care of every little detail. We researched panel makers quite a bit and ended up with Sunpower because the inverters are integrated into each panel. Solar installation is a considerable investment; hence, we did our due diligence. Also, Sunpower panels are usually highest rated as the most efficient. We decided to install the M450 series since we needed fewer panels based on our usage pattern. The M Series uses Maxeon Gen 6 solar cells, which allows these panels to be the most powerful. To my knowledge, Renova is the only licensed Sunpower installer in the entire Coachella Valley. Johnny Coladonato was our sales rep and project manager, making every single step of the solar purchase an enjoyable experience. Even the SCE agent who changed the energy meter after the installation was impressed by our system installations accuracy and cleanliness. I would recommend Renova to anyone looking for a sustainable and high-quality value add to their residence.

We chose Renova when it came to going solar and could not be more pleased. Installation was completed in early 2018 and we are a little over halfway through our first year with the system.Our sales rep Michael Cordero was fantastic. He explained everything clearly and was always polite and courteous. He made himself available at odd times and hours and was always quick to respond to any questions we had (before or after install). He was also patient as we weighed our options and we never felt pressured. After we signed up and install was complete, he even brought by a very thoughtful gift basket with treats and toys for our cats, a coffee mug, key chains etc. A very personal and nice touch!The install team was on time and courteous as well. Most of the work was done while my wife and I were gone at work so we barely noticed they were there. They updated us as they progressed and were always conscientious of keeping our home secure and garage closed when they were done working. We dont get a lot of rain in the desert, but thus far the installation quality seems top notch and we havent noticed any leaks at all.We opted to lease our panels. The lease pricing seems fair and our savings are projected to increase should SCE rates ever go up (as the lease payments are fixed). So far the savings have been quite nice and our system is sized appropriately so that we generate plenty of energy to match our use. Michael has provided helpful suggestions and advice each month as our electricity bills from SCE come in. This is to ensure we are getting the most bang for our buck and it keeps us in the know when it comes to how our net generation/use is shaking out each month. Renova also offers 1 cleaning free of charge, which they did for us in July with zero hassle.I highly recommend Renova! Only a pleasant experience thus far.Cody

Fantastic, fast and superior service! We already had solar on our home, but we’re spending far too much money every March on our true up bill with SCE. Matt offered an in-depth evaluation and we ended up adding more panels to our roof last week.The work crew was on-time every morning, courteous, clean and efficient each of the four days onsite. During the week, we had a major electrical fire and power failure to our outside panel as they were working on the house (through no fault of their own).Emergencies and unforeseen circumstances are in my opinion, the true test of leadership, service and delivery for a company. Once the damage was assessed on the electric panel, they immediately acted and provided a back-up generator to preserve our groceries since we live in the desert (Rancho Mirage). We didn’t end up needing the generator because Ruben and Patrick showed up with a brand new electric panel and components staying until 9pm to get us up and running the same day.I should mention that my wife and I both work from home, so there dedication was sincerely appreciated. 11/18/2019 Updated reviewIt has been a year now that we have had our Renova/Sunpower system on our home. I wanted to follow up on how the system has performed. During the year we received only a monthly connection charge from Edison, which generally ranged around $25.00, our electric bill was zero all year, every month. Our monthly Edison bill showed a credit each month, which became quite substantial as we entered the summer months. During the summer as we began using the A/C, the credit began to reduce slightly each month until we reached month number 12. We did receive a check back from Edison at the end of the year, it was small but it was a credit. This tells me that Renova properly sized the solar panels to our monthly use. We are very happy with the system that we leased, and the lease cost is minimal, we have saved thousands per year over staying with Edison. Also, we did a refinance on the house, and it went smoothly. Having leased panels on the house presented no problem whatsoever from a lending/refi standpoint. The result: we should have switched to solar years ago. We were uninformed. Now we know.

From beginning to end, there entire team (sales, installation, home office) have been true professionals! In my pre-solar research; Renova continued to be the company everyone said was “best” and given the fact I have now gone through the experience; they were absolutely correct!

I got myself into a very difficult situation with another solar company who defrauded me into signing up to buy solar panels. This other company used a faulty model to sell me panels, and I had Renova review the same data that I had supplied to the other company. Renova’s analysis of the data showed the depth of the fraud committed by the other company, and was vital in our attempts to force the other company into correcting the wrong they had perpetrated on me. Renova staff were very helpful and honest, and they went out of their way to help me even though they didn’t have to. They were awesome, would definitely recommend.

This is undoubtedly the best contractor experience we have ever had (and we’ve had many)Everything was done on time, at the stated cost, and exactly right. They fully co-ordinated everything with the city, SCE, the HOAWe contacted Renova via email about installing a Tesla Powerwall 2.We were promptly contacted by Patrick Sheehan, VP of Energy Storage.He answered all our questions and came out to do a site inspection.Renova explained the CA rebate program and provided us with a quote that included the rebate.Renova handled ALL approvals including our HOA, SCE, City of Palm Springs.They obtained the Powerwall at least a month earlier than they originally thought, goteverything installed in two days and met the inspector from the City for approval.SCE notified us they want to do an on-site inspection and require that usage data be provided to thembefore the on-site appointment - Renova provided all usage data from the Powerwall to SCE and we arewaiting for the final SCE inspection.The work was quick, professional and tidy - they painted the equipment to match the wall in the garage.They kept us informed at every stage of the install.Their quote was exactly what they originally said.We are very happy with Renova and would highly recommend them.

Our Solar Panel installation was completed one month ago. From the first day installation of the system began till it was completed and our system went operational, we were impressed with the professionalism and outstanding quality of service received from employees of the Palm Desert offices of Renova Solar Systems. Matt Rifkin, our sales representative, arrived at the agreed time, provided detailed information about solar energy, its benefits and estimated costs. Once we expressed an interest in leasing the system, Alesha and Jose arrived shortly thereafter to inspect our roof and electric service panel for possible problems that would require out of pocket repairs. None being required, Matt then returned the next day with proposals comparing the benefits of purchasing vs. leasing the recommended system and pictures showing the recommended placement of panels on the roof. Once the size of the system and placement of panels was approved and we signed the lease agreement, Matt, or one of his associates in the office, kept us apprised of the procedures taking place to design and engineer the system and obtain permits from the city and Southern California Edison.Installation of the panels required just three days, and was completed two days ahead of projected date. The installers, Bwaldo, Jorge and Alex, showed up at the designated time each day, and left the work place spotless when they left. Nine days later we received acceptance of the system from Edison and Matt came to switch it on. He then helped set up, and provided instructions on using an online Solar Power metering program.Since going operational in mid-September 2016, the system has performed as promised and the savings in energy became instantly obvious. Our only complaint is against ourselves—we should have installed solar sooner.Given the excellent service and attention to detail by Matt, Alesha, Jose, Bwaldo, Jorge and Alex, and the office staff, it is no wonder that Renova Energy is the top ranked solar provider in the Coachella Valley.William Parker and Robert DuschPalm Desert, CaliforniaOctober 19, 2016

I was most impressed initially with the presentation by Caitlyn. Very professional and the technology behind the presentation.Liked selecting the amount of panels to suit our needs and being able to place them on the roof in the location we felt was least invasive in the unlikely event of a roof leak. (Above garage)The crew that did the electrical survey was very impressive and thorough. They spent the entire day and missed nothing in search of every appliance and outlet. They even discovered faulty outlets that we repaired later.This is not the cheapest company but the Sun Power panels are far superior technology and can withstand 125 degree days that are possible here without damage.The fact that Renova was local and dedicated entirely to the Coachella Valley was important to us.It’s a pain going thru all the red-tape with local government agencies and associations, but Renova made it as painless as possible.Nick and his crew did an incredible job installing the panels, and left here with everything clean and painted like it had been there forever.We are now watching out meter spinning backwards even with our aircon on during the day and can’t wait to start seriously banking power during milder months here in Palm Desert.Also nice to be sitting in comfort and not have the feeling your wallet is getting lighter! Our relationship with RENOVA, from Matt McPherson, sales rep, walking in our door on September 4th. With two young assistants, to check and measure, when he clearly presented information on solar for our home, until our installation project was completed today, with MAtt bringing us a lovely gift basket, our dealings have been great. Not a hitch or a glitch!The installation, was completed sooner than we expected, in a short period of time on Saturday, November 10th. Under Kelvins direction everything was done perfectly. Clean-up was excellent. Our city inspection was completed on Tuesday, November 13th, with no problem. Leaving this review here specifically for Matt McPherson of Renova Energy. I have known Matt for close to three years now and what I love about him is that he is interested in making the best deal possible for the client. Even if that means not selling a solar panel system if it isnt required.We recently moved from Southern California Edison Territory to IID territory where our solar bills are about a 1/3 of the price of SCE. My husband was bombarded by different solar panel companies trying to convince him that we need solar panels here, even though I know from years of listening to Matt say that it doesnt make financial sense in IID territory.Matt hopped onto the phone with my husband and answered all of his questions and was able to convince him not to fall for the lies of the other companies.If you want someone with integrity, who will be honest with you about your solar needs, you HAVE to contact Matt McPherson with Renova Energy. ESPECIALLY if you live in SCE territory out here.

When I installed my system a few years ago the installation was like clock work. The installation crew always showed up on time as promised which other companies I hired for other projects did not. They cleaned up everyday and kept me informed through the 4 day installation process. The system designed for me covered my usage 100% so I never had to pay SCE for extra power. My monthly bills are never over $11. Now that I have solar, SCE can raise the rates as much as they want because I wont be effected. I just added the Tesla Powerwall so now if SCE takes the grid down Im protected. Thanks Renova for helping me save money on my electric bill. If you are thinking about solar you have to use Renova. They are a local company and they give back to the community in many ways. Cant say enough about them. - they deliver what they promise!!!

Renova started the work on Wednesday, January 26, 2018. They said it would take five business days, and wrap up installation by Tuesday, January 30. Well, by Friday, January 28, we were pushing power to the Grid. We didnt get credit for the excess power produced until SCE certified the installation (which happened on Tuesday, January 30), but we at least were feeding excess power to as of Friday afternoon. Way to go, Renova!!
