Castlewood plumbing was prompt, on time, cordial and highly professional during both the assessment trip and the installation job to replace our sum pump system and outdated/non-compliant pipes. The quality of their work, as far as I can tell, is really top notch. I would highly recommend their service. Depending on the job, their quote could be considerably higher than some other bids, so it is something to consider. But we definitely feel the peace of mind it brings by working with a highly competent company.

I found the office workers to be very professional and pleasant when I was scheduling and asking questions. Our plumber, Nick was very knowledgeable, friendly and checked the diagnostics of a previous plumber that had recommended work that would have cost thousands of dollars. Start to finished, I had a great experience!I would highly recommend Castlewood Plumbing. Customer Service from Elizabeth was great, I received inaccurate information from another plumber/company on the requirement to get my main water shut off by the water company. This was going to be a huge ordeal to coordinate and not be without water. Elizabeth didnt think this sounded right, so She had me talk directly to the master plumber, Matt. Matt took the time to talk with me, had me send pictures and confirmed they could handle everything without getting the water company involved. I was able to get a same day appointment . I received a text confirming my appointment then another text with a picture of my technician, Ed when he was in his way. Ed was professional, analyzed our situation, presented three different options with detailed quote then completed the job same day with no mess. I dont remember the last time I have written a review. So impressed with Castlewood Plumbing.

I have no way of knowing whether it was a good value since I had nothing to compare it to-but that doesn’t take away from the fact that the service was spot on!

Everything went well , from my conversation with the woman who answered the phone to the completion of the job. Total time from my phone call to completion of the job was 3hours. The technician explained the problem and provided the estimate for completion of the job shortly after inspecting the problem area. Shane was the plumber who cabled the laundry drain in the basement. Every time I would wash a load of laundry and once the machine would drain (wash and rinse) water would flow under the wash machine to the drain. Ive had this problem for over a month and put up with it. Now I am so very happy it is fixed. Shane was great. He explained everything to me before hand and he was very professional. He also explained and showed me what he did. So very nice and even made friends with my dog Reggie. Awesome job and made my day!

We purchased a new washer and dryer from Lowe’s and got free delivery and installation. The Lowe’s installer was quite easily the laziest and most incompetent person I have seen. He said our washer waterline valves were corroded and he could not do anything. We called Castlewood and CJ came over the next day. He not only told us there was nothing wrong with our valves but he also installed the washer and dryer for us. Very high quality work and excellent customer service. We would highly recommend Castlewood!

Last year Castlewood Plumbing (formerly Thome) installed a whole house filter and water softening system. The filter was to mitigate rust in the water from aging pipes from our well, and the well pump. The whole house filter has done a great job. Now I am having the well pump and piping replaced. The technician, Adam, which is the same person with whom I worked last year, reviewed the situation and gave several options, for which estimates will be provided. I appreciate that he considered the proximity of the well pump to our electrical panel and new power wall, and as such have suggested relocating the pump to minimize the risk to the electrical panel and power wall, should there ever be an issue with the pump. I have confidence that he has the experience to do the job correctly. And, the person I spoke with from the home office was so helpful and friendly. A great company all around.

While doing some pre-Thanksgiving cooking and prep work, my garbage disposal failed along with the adjacent exit pipe/fitting under the kitchen sink. Since I was hosting the holiday, I was in a panic. Several other companies- even the 24 hour emergency ones- couldn’t get out to help me. Thome was able to adjust their schedule and help me. The plumber arrived as promised and was able to make the necessary repairs quickly. Great service!!

I’ve used Thome several times before and I always go back to them for the quality of repairs, professionalism, and honest assessment about options and repairs. I had a leaking faucet for a recent clothes washer install. It leaked from the spicket discharge when I removed the old washer, so it wasn’t an emergency. The day they arrive I went to the basement to clear space to access the water shutoff to the laundry room. I found a regular drip that left water over the floor in a wide area and damage some stuff in that storage area. Apparently during the install, and using the new washer several times, the valve leaked in multiple area (stem, discharge) and ran down the drain pipe to the basement. The plumber was awesome. He determined the leak was the source and not additional problems. He re-did the valves and connection in an upgraded fashion (ball valves with threaded ends to make the future replacement easier (kind on the next plumber). It’s this extra effort and making a skater repair rather than a basic fix. I’ve always had this level of service from Thome and will continue to use them.

They were very easy to get an appointment and someone answered the phone! They came out quickly and gave a bid before they started any of the work. The tech unclogged the drain and checked several times to make sure it was fully unclogged (which took several snakes to get it cleaned). Great job and very up front with costs. Would highly recommend!

Thome Plumbing was recommended to us. We just had them compete a repair in our basement. They had to break open our slab, and replace degraded cast iron with PVC. Kyle showed up on time, and explained the repair, and kept us up to date as he worked. The repair was completed on time and within budget. Kyle was great! We would definitely recommend Thome Plumbing.

One month after purchasing our house in July, the water company left us a notice requiring that our outside water meter be raised up higher in its underground pit. Upon evaluating the pit, it was discovered that the stop box which controls the flow of water to the water meter could not be found. Other plumbing companies which bid on the work said that I would have to hire somebody else to locate the stop box first.Thome Plumbing went above and beyond my expectations with finding our missing stop box and completing the water meter work. They first tried to find it with a metal detector, then when that failed, called the water company to get measurements on where it was originally installed. The measurements indicated that it was most likely under the road in front of our house. Thome Plumbing then reached out to our local city municipality and arranged with the city to pay for any additional cost to move or rebuild the stop box ($$) as long as it could be proven that it was under the road. Reason being: the road outside our house had been widened years earlier by the city.Matt from Thome Plumbing ended up proving that it was indeed under the road by locating and hiring (with my prior approval) a company in Illinois who does water line leak detection. This all took several months (Oct - Feb) to work out, throughout which Matt kept me up to date. It culminated with minor excavation of our front yard to rebuild the stop box and raise the water meter, which was done quickly and with minimal disturbance to our front yard. I cant thank Matt and everyone over at Thome Plumbling for helping us fix this problem! They have definitely earned our business going forward.

John, Gabe, and Adam worked as a team to fix our clogged sink, and leaking kitchen sink pipe, as well as a pipe back-up in the basement. They were friendly and explained their work as things unfolded. They were very clean and respectful of our home. They put out a mat to protect our flooring, wore masks and booties over their shoes. They even put coverings over their machine wheels. I highly recommend this company.

The plumber repaired/installed shutoff valves below the utility sink, and in the mainline that supplies the laundry room. He also install a purchased faucet to the utility sink. The job was done with high quality and attention to detail, making sure it was installed smartly and no residual leaks, ran water, and made sure all operated well, to include proper cleanup. The plumber was friendly, professional, and conversant about the job and answered all my questions. These things are why I continue to be a repeat customer of Thome Plumbing.

Glad I called them out. I thought I just had a leaky toilet, but asked about some additional water I saw in the basement. They found a nail was driven into a pipe up stairs and leaking flushing water in my walls for the past 2 years. They fixed my toilet, my pipes, and patched the drywall very invisibly as well.
