My wife and I purchased a new home recently and werent sure if the heat tape worked or not. We called Wasatch Heat Cable and scheduled a fall appointment for them to review the current system to make sure everything was operational. Friendly staff, tech was right on time, reviewed the entire system and gave us the good news that everything was in working order. After our first winter in the house we discovered we needed some additional heat tape in a few areas. Again the experience was first class. Office staff was friendly, we were updated as both the estimator and techs were on the way and the additional heat tape was installed without as issue. We would highly recommend Wasatch Heat Tape!!

Wasatch Heat Cable is the online destination for the best information and advice on Heat Cable design and installation. They have technical expertise that I could not easily find anywhere else given that live in the Chicago area. I had heated gutter guards installed by another vendor to prevent ice dams and ensure drainage through the winter. After all the wiring was complete, I had a problem with the connection of my new GFEP breakers so I called Wasatch and talked to Kyle who quickly answered my question and gave me peace of mind that my final wiring was correct. I had Wasatch Heat Cable give me a quote to re-attach my heat cable. After I had some water damage repairs done, the crew doing the repair of my residence had cut several area of the heat tape, thus making the heat tape inoperable. The quote from Wasatch Heat Tape estimator Dave Tanner, was fair and I immediately scheduled them to come and do the work. Jose was the first to come. He was prompt and efficient. He did 95% of the work, working well into the dark, and completing the all the work before he left. There was one downspout that I thought would need a cable installed, I called their office and talked to Lisa. Boy what a knowledgeable and is truly concerned about making sure their customers are completely satisfied with their work. Since they had done work for me, they rescheduled another crew within a few days to complete the work. Kile, Canvas, and Bryce came this morning and completed, and thoroughly tested the system to make sure it was all in working order. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND using Wasatch Cable for your Heat Cable needs. They are fast, efficient, knowledgeable, and their prices were very competitive. Will definitely be calling them if I require any additional heat tape work.

We had heat cable installed at our townhouse during the fall. The customer service is FANTASTIC.The initial contact was to obtain a bid. They came out to evaluate and measure. The bid was professional and prompt. The bid was commensurate with other companies; however, the Wasatch Heat Cable’s experience and thoroughness far exceeded the other bids. The installation was performed on scheduled date and was very professional. The job site was left clean and there were no surprises or hidden fees.Once winter came, we had two minor problems. Wasatch Heat Cable was very responsive: they came out promptly to evaluate what was wrong, and to correct the problems.Several other neighbors in our townhouse complex also contracted with Wasatch Heat Cable and all are satisfied customers.

We had a new roof with gutters installed. During that process the installers cut the heat cable to reinstall it within the gutter, downspouts and on the roof. The severed cable was never reconnected. Finally Wasatch Heat Cable was contacted to do the reconnection. Eric arrived promptly as scheduled and analyzed the situation. As he had scheduled time for a simple reconnect as he was told by the gutter company, he took time to explain what was necessary to do the connection properly. Like many, he could have taken the easy way and just spliced the severed ends and be done. However, as he reviewed the situation, he saw that the cable was cut too short and installed wrongly in the down spout. He took the time to properly add approximately 12 feet of cable into the down spout and run it down under the patio so it would not freeze. He heat sealed the necessary connections, where the cables were joined. Many of the connected cables are spliced and taped with electrical tape and duct tape. That method is not water proof. Eric patiently spliced the connections with electrical tape, then using an outer tubing, the splice was heat sealed to establish an impenetrable water tight seal. Not once, but this all important seal was done for both areas where the cables had to be connected. Upon completion, the heat cable system was checked for safety and functionality. Eric was thorough and attentive to the smallest detail. He was knowledgeable, professional and more important, pleasant, caring and a really concerned about what was right.If you are not using Wasatch Heat Cable for your evaluation, installation or repairs, then I believe you are not utilizing the best professionals available. Call Wasatch Heat Cable and you too will not be disappointed and completely satisfied.

If you need deicing cable or tape this is the place to go. I had bids from two other roof and gutter outfits and Wasatch was less than both for cable; they did not offer tape. Since I live in the mountains I chose tape. Bryant did the install. He knows his job and does it quickly and efficiently. He fully explained how the tape system would work and is a pleasant fellow to boot. I can recommend Wasatch without reservation.

I have had problems with my heat cable installed by my electrician and has caused more problems than fixed. Wasatch came out listened to my areas I have problems with and installed new heat tape. It has not snowed yet to see if it is working but they guarantee their work so I am waiting to see how well it works and happy to know they will come fix it if it does not work this year but Dave was great to work with.

WHC installed self-regulating heat cable with a thermostat at our house. They did a great job, the employees and electrical sub-contractors were a pleasure to interact with, and the cable+thermostat combo was working as expected.A couple of weeks after the installation, we noticed icicles forming underneath a short stretch of the cable. I emailed the company and the next day they sent workers to fix the issue. We werent home and the workers left a detailed note explaining that the issue was caused by a downspout incorrectly installed by the previous owners. They fixed it anyway, free of charge.As a side note: for anyone looking to install heat cable, I strongly recommend doing it during the warm season to avoid the inevitable wait caused by an influx of desperate property owners who remember that they have problems with ice and snow only after it starts snowing (which was the case with us). And if you get the job done while its still warm, you will avoid the snow melting charge.Back to the WHC: this was my only experience with them, but my conclusion so far is that they do quality work and have a very ethical approach to business. I would definitely recommend them.

This is a long review but I think it will be helpful: After doing a ton of research on all the different companies who do heat cable installation, I decided to call Wasatch Heat Cable. They have solid reviews and use the best product. Raychem and Drexan are the market leaders as heat cable manufacturers. Drexan is more innovative, contemporary, smaller and better customer service (yes I called both). Oh and they have a way better warranty than Raychem.Fast-forward, after all my research and also having Wasatch give me a bid, I decided that I could do this on my own. Im fairly handy around the house. BASIC plumbing and electrical, get up on the roof and clean out my gutters, etc. Nothing impressive--I work at a computer all day. Anyway, the Drexan website has a design guide that is helpful, you can call Drexan and ask questions, and ultimately Wasatch Heat cable will supply you with the materials you need. This is not a go to Home Depot and pick up the accessories you need. Wasatch has this down to a science and you want to make sure you do it correctly! Cable, clips, adhesive, etc.I cant say that my install is as good as Wasatchs--its probably not. You should probably just have them do it. But as a penny pincher, I saved well over a thousand dollars. There is considerable planning involved, with a bit of a learning curve but its doable if youre motivated. Bottom line is if you have the time and skill to plan out this project, you can buy everything from Wasatch Heat Cable and know that you have the very best material.

A gentleman from wasatch heat cable was next door giving my neighbors a quote to install heat tape. I just happened to be installing my own at the same time. He noticed and came right over. I thought he was going to try and get me to buy theirs, but instead he dropped everything he was doing and educated me and helped me install it correctly and efficiently. It helped me immensely and I was more than impressed. Great staff, good installation. always on time for appointments and easy to work with. Waiting for winter to truly test the system :-)UPDATE: Weve had great success with our system. It has snowed a lot and been really cold and the system works. We had an issue with freezing water on the gutter clips and guys were out here the next day to adjust everything and make it perfect!
