    I went downstairs in the evening and found our well pump had leaked and flooded our basement. I called Ben Franklin that night and the service technician was able to come early the next day. We ended up getting a full pump and filter replacement. Ira, our technician, was able to get the parts and install the entire pump, new tank and filter, in less than 24 hours after i reported the incident! He did a very thorough job, and was very professional and nice to work with. Excellent service, we will be using them again for projects in the future.

    Not a cheap place but came within a few hours after initial call on time(the early side of time window). Fixed leaking washing machine in a timely, friendly manor. Put on boot covers. Great service.

    We had a significant leak from one of the new water filters installed by BF on 9/24/2024. Kenny Levin arrived promptly and quickly diagnosed the problem as a clogged filter. He replaced the filter and offered solutions as to how to avoid the problem in the future. Costly, but good advice. A competed technician!

    First Sam was very helpful. Lots of things were wrong and he helped prioritize and stabilize so everything could get done. Great job. Then Josh came to do the main body of the work. This involved coordinating with WSSC. Their timeframes are generally 2-4 hours, or even just today. This make coordination a bit tough. Josh stuck through it all following up throughout the day. The job didnt finish till 8pm when WSSC came out for the last time, but Josh and I were still texting so he could make sure his work was water tight - which it is.

    Benjamin Franklin’s employee, Josh, has just left our home to check out a leak that was allegedly coming from our condo to our neighbor’s floor. Josh was very professional and thorough. He went the extra mile by also looking at the neighbor’s complaint to ensure that the leak was not coming from our condo before leaving. He was pleasant, on time, knowledgeable and very helpful. Highly Reccommend.

    Josh did a great job at my house today! He spent the time explaining to me what was happening with my plumbing issue, attempted to resolve the problem with a lower-cost solution, and when we had to do the big job, he got it done quickly and right.     Im very pleased with my service from Josh. Not only did he call about an hour earlier than the appointment window start time to let me know how long it would take him to get to my home, he still arrived earlier than expected. He was very pleasant, personable, efficient and clean!!We discussed each measure he had to take to resolve my leaking toilet before he did anything. He went over the pricing with me in detail and made sure I was comfortable with my decision. Chris did a great job diagnosing the problem leak and worked hard to complete the repair as quickly as possible and with minimal damage (even though the wall and ceiling had to be cut open to get to the pipes).     My family and I could not be happier with the service that we received from Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.Marty did everything he could to repair and troubleshoot the problem with our water heater before we finally decided to replace our tank. Throughout the process he was consultative and took a significant amount of time explaining all the possible scenarios and options to save us money.When we decided to have the water heater replaced, he did an expert job. He cleaned the area spotless, his welding and copper work is clean and he thoroughly went over the maintenance needed to ensure that our water heater remains in good condition (I bet you didnt think about flushing your tank, did you?).We are first time home owners and this is all a little daunting to us. We were lucky to have Marty see us through and happy we didnt go with the other two companies we spoke to before Benjamin Franklin.I will definitely be referring this company to my friends and family. I dont usually write reviews but this is something that needed to be written. Very satisfied all around.

    Jeremy was great! He took the time to listen to my concerns about how the faucet was installed and loose. He remove the faucet, checked things out and then explained to me what the issue was and he would do his best to fix it more to my satisfaction. He checked with the individual that did the actual work and then explained to me why, and said he would do his very best to fix it to my satisfaction, but couldnt guarantee it would be perfectly, but much better. He fixed the gap and tighten everything and put caulking around the areas that still had a small gap. Everything, then was to my satisfaction. With said, I was extremely pleased with Jeremys service.     Marty Stiller from Ben Franklin went above and beyond in every way possible on this work. We had three very challenging plumbing issues, two of which the other two plumbers who visited our home could not fix. One shower had been out of commission for years because we had paid a lot to have a plumber from a different company come to address these issues only to leave without addressing any of them to success - it was tricky; this was why we had called professionals! Martys thoughtful, calm and creative work style, along with his willingness to stick with the jobs meant that we got what we when we had called Ben Franklin: 2 working showers and a bath faucet! It was a 2-day job and we specifically did not want to cheap out on the work - that was what had created the issues for us in the first place. The work was complicated and took a while to get the right parts and everything to work in the small spaces available to Marty - but it was more than worth it to have what we really wanted - both full bathrooms fully functional at the end of Martys time with us. We will ask for Marty next time we call for any service - he was pleasant, positive and forthcoming with the details of what he was doing and the approaches he took. Marty has created a sense of trust that we have not found in any other plumbing company - Ben Franklin is very lucky to have him and as members, so are we! Jen, Silver Spring MD.

    When Jeremy arrived, he introduced himself, covered his shoes before entering my home, listened to the problems that I was having, assessed what needed to be done, and professionally completed the work.     Very responsive and quick to respond to a blocked floor drain that caused the HVAC to flood part of the basement. Jeremy listened carefully to my lay-person assessment without judgment and solved the problem in a step-wise approach with full explanation and cost for each explained. He solved it with his first and least expensive step! I asked for the best preventative measure and he supplied the right product and explained the correct use. This is my second time using this company. I’ll be back in the future for any plumbing needs.

    Our hot water heater decided to die on the Sunday of Labor Day weekend, of course. We called Ben Franklin (weve been using them for years), got an immediate response, and had an appointment set up for first thing the next morning. Labor Day, mind you. Weve had Ira attend us before. He evaluated why the the water heater wasnt working, and gave us several options how to address the problem. Everything was explained clearly, in detail, and with much patience. In the end, we had to wait one more day for the total replacement we chose, but I found Ben Franklins quick response, their overall professionalism, reassuring. And I give Ira ten stars. Hes just so knowledgeable and helpful. Hes who you want to show up on your doorstep when a major appliance fails. Thanks, Ben Franklin! And thank you, Ira!

    Jerry was terrific! He came out at night when my water heater sprang a leak. He emptied the tank and patiently talked me through the process. He was not scheduled but returned the next day to help install the new unit. He noticed that my water meter had been covered with drywall and remedied the situation.     Shout out to the staff at Ben Franklin -- After several issues over the past few years with my tankless water heater system, the staff jumped right on the problem and replaced my unit quickly and efficiently under my warranty. Tricia was quick to set up the appt (next day) and Jerry came over on Sat on his day off to do the repairs. I also want to recognize Alex who had been out a few times to service my unit.     I have great trust in this company. They have had some knurly situations to contend with. Over the years no one has been able to silence the awful noises coming from the radiators. The owner came over to check on the job. He came in wearing a suit and tie and went downstairs to discuss the problem with his crew . He came back up black with soot and dirt. The problem was fixed! He is a very personable man. I would never use another plumbing company.

    After a major leak from the upstairs bathroom above our kitchen, Benjamin Franklin Plumbing, replaced all the old cast iron drain pipes (with PVC) and old oxidized copper water pipes (with new copper). The old plumbing was original, almost 75 years old, and cracks/micro leaks in multiple points throughout the bathroom. Removing the old and installing the new plumbing took two days, with a few days for the estimate and planning before starting. Jeremy and Marty did most of the labor, and it was very labor intensive work--accessing the walls behind the bathroom and ceiling in the kitchen, below the bathroom. They did excellent and professional work, up to code, in record time. Very well done.

    It was a very rain today. I checked my basement to find our sump pump had stopped working threatening to flood the basement. I called Ben Franklin right away, in the hopes they could rectify the situation. They sent a plumber the same day, much to my relief. Unfortunately, the sump pump was so old that it was beyond repair. But the plumber, Ira, explained that I now needed to replace the sump pump with a new one. Throughout the process, he was very efficient, knowledgeable and explained everything well enough to get me to stop panicking about the possibility of a flooded basement. He also helped us with other things in our basement that needed fixing before they fell apart and caused similar panic inducing problems. He made a stress inducing process as least stressful as possible. It has been close to 3 months later, and everything that was done in the basement is working very well and has remained, thankfully, problem free. If I do have a problem in the future (which I hope doesnt happen), I will be calling Ben Franklin again.
