He confirmed upon arrival and quickly replaced the defective circuit board. How cool is that that he actually had the circuit board with him on the truck?he also did a quick check of refrigerant pressure out at the compressor. I’m very impressed with this company.

I needed to find an A/C company familiar with the installation of a Micro-Air EasyStart Device. I called several businesses until I found Durham & Sons Inc. They not only had A/C technicians but also electricians. An A/C tech arrived who was very familiar with the product and proceeded with the installation. He did an outstanding job and I was very happy with his work. So I decided to have a whole house suppressor installed and Durham & Sons sent an electrician. Again an outstanding job. I was impressed with their work and knowledge. I would also like to acknowledge the front office personnel that worked with me in getting both jobs completed. Extremely positive experience from the moment the owner of the company came over to gather the details for the estimate, and all of the way through to the completed install. Extremely transparent and competent staff that does actually communicate with you effectively! Dawna, and others in the office were a pleasure to work with. And although I forgot to ask for the A team to do the installation, they sent them anyway. Aaron and Caleb were a pleasure to deal with during the installation. Both were knowledgeable and willing to answer any questions that I had. Beyond that, they were both capable and willing to just have a regular conversation. When needed, they reached out to the job supervisor Tyler, who by the way is a crafty veteran in this field, for guidance with particular details. Beyond that, it was a nice, clean, but challenging installation of a mini-split unit. The work was completed on-time, and they cleaned up after themselves before they left. Durham and Sons set the standard for AC replacement service. After getting multiple quotes from other companies they were by far the lowest cost. Being the lowest is great but what really sets them apart is there exceptional service and technicians. They were always on time, completed the job when they said they would, and gave us a complete walkthrough when complete. Tyler, the technician was great he made sure we were happy with their work and verified part numbers with me at the end. This company sets the standard, highly recommend this company!

My air conditioner stopped sometime through the night and when I got up in the morning the thermostat read 82 degrees and system malfunction. I called Durham & Sons around 9 a.m. and requested an appointment on their voicemail. I was pleasantly surprised when Jackie called back shortly thereafter and said they could have someone here between 12 and 4 p.m. I expected it would be days before they could schedule me in being that it was Friday the 13th. The tech arrived at about 1:30 p.m. and was quick and efficient and repaired my unit and was gone by 2:45 p.m. Air is working. Thank you, thank you for being so prompt. I am very happy with this company.

We had a thermostat issue. Durham who i have used every-time i need help sent out Mike to handle our problem. The interface on the screen had a broken prong. Mike noticed it right away and replaced it with the new spare one i had. Mike then did a complete service on our unit, cleaned out parts i never knew were there to clean. The unit came right back on and i was ecstatic so my wife could get a good night’s sleep, before she has to get up at 3:45 am to head to work. Mike was very knowledgable, friendly, and professional. My AC stopped working and after waiting three days in July for my warranty company to figure out the issue they could not do repairs same day. I call Durham and Sons and they came out within an hour even when calling after 3PM. Jackie was great and very understanding of my predicament scheduling Eric to come out. Eric jump on the issue letting me know he will take care of the problem, probably sensing my stress level. My AC is working great 12 hours after Eric left and continues to keep our home cool. After having a 50A plug installed by another contractor I decided to go with a Tesla recommended contractor to do the install of my new Tesla Gen 3 Charger. After checking the reviews on Durham & Sons it was a pretty ease choice to go with them. Cathey from the office walked me thru the official process with great info and instructions on how the process would move along. They came out for a survey and I had quote emailed to me the next day. After I accepted the quote things moved along quite fast. Communication from Durham was great with announcements on when my installer would be arriving and they were quite punctual! Both the estimator and the installer were courteous and professional. Would certainly recommend their services for not only the Tesla EV stuff but any electrical needs you may have! Very prompt, respectful service. (I mention respect bc Ive had people come to fix the ac, and they closed my own door on me and never spoke to me and just started doing things.) Ryan was very understanding when he came and I couldnt answer the door right away due to work.Ive been fighting with this unit for years with the people who installed it because the warranty was with them, and ultimately, they could never get to the root cause. This was before all the issues with the roof happened.As a result, I was skeptical that Durham & Sons would be able to figure out the issue. Ryan came and, within the 30 min timeframe, was able to tell me what was going on with it. It was a death sentence. He showed me the damage and was happening. Im quite confident that it isnt just because i need a new a/c due to the other reviews that show they have found and repaired root causes. They have my trust and will most likely, once I complete my end, will ask them for help with the replacement.Greatly appreciated they were able to come out right away and worked with my unpredictable availability.Had an issue with the service payment, and he was prompt with the refund. Zach, furthermore, took his time with me to answer all the questions I had and gave me a plan of action and an awareness of what the ballpark would be. Gratefully, he gave me ideas on what to do in the meantime to stay cool.

I first contacted Durham and Sons when we thought our AC was leaking. Was able to get someone out that very day (Friday of spring break no less) and confirm that it wasnt the AC that was leaking. He said our unit was old, but not dead yet. He said to contact D&S when we were ready to replace. We were astounded there was no pressure with this first visit and happily made mental notes to put these guys on our list to call for quotes when we did replace. Our repairman even suggested given the location of the leak what kind of specialist to call. He was correct and we were thankful to catch something quickly that could have horribly gone wrong. Fast forward a few months... our AC started making a funny noise so we started researching companies to ask for quotes from. Life got busy and one day we found ourselves with no AC because wed waited too long of course it was a weekend and my husband was out of town so I waited until he got back to call. Called D&S and they were able to send someone that very day (again!) the repairman was kind and eager to help. The AC had a leak and he was not able to find out where the leak was coming from. We knew this would lead to major expense, and we knew we didnt want to reinvest the money in a machine that only had a year or two left, so we decided to replace. The few companies that we contacted provided quotes for us, but D&S was the only company to come and inspect before hand (even though they had been out before)! We were impressed with their professionalism and determination to get the job done quickly, but also correctly. And that meant a few days wait - which they provided window AC units for us to use while we were down. Also, we had some issues with how the previous unit was installed. D&S took care of those and also suggested a few more fixes because THEY had issue with how it was installed before. We appreciate them wanting a job done correctly so that they can stand behind the product that they service. Price-wise, they are a bit lower than average for the unit we selected. We did have a quote that came in lower and could start and finish quicker, but the brand of unit was not to our liking. We paid for a 3rd party service to provide estimated retail trends in our area and they were lower than quoted by that service for the make and models we looked up. Their customer service is stellar. They treat you like family. I highly recommend Durham and Sons for service calls and also AC replacement. We are so happy to have found a company that cares about what they do, the products they provide and the manner in which they do all of it.

Eric was great on the second day. Was able to determine the issue was with the thermostat, installed and configured a new thermostat, and verified the rest of the system was operating as it should. Would give 5 stars however, the first tech sent out on day 1 spent 4 hours, multiple trips to store, and multiple phone calls requesting assistance, and ended up leaving us a non-functioning system and advised we would probably need to replace entire HVAC system.

This company came out same day. I’ve been taking care of my elderly aunt and she’s been complaining about coldness in her home. Ive had my Trane XV20i Heat Pump for 1 year now and Durham and Sons have provide very good support. I had a couple of issues, but Tyler in particular was very helpful in getting them resolved. Clayton has done a fine job of providing the twice a year PCSA maintenance. The unit is running quite well now and appears to be very efficient.UPDATE Nov 2023….Matt was great, he repaired my bedroom and game room Mitsubishi heat pumps, did annual maintenance on those two plus a 3rd Mitsu heat pump, and did a PCSA check on Trane unit. I’ve had Durham for 10 years and they are awesome.UPDATE Aug 2024….Durham replaced my bedroom Mitsubishi heat pump with the latest model with iPhone control, dual heat/cool setpoints and new hydrophobic coating that should greatly reduce the dirt collection on the indoor unit. RJ also made a special trip out to provide a custom quote to relocate my Trane outdoor unit. They have been first rate for as long as I’ve dealt with them.

We have been customers of Durham & Sons since they replaced our entire AC system in 2012. Since then we have maintained a preferred customer maintenance agreement to have them check our equipment every 6 months. Jackie called us a few days ago to schedule the service, called us again when the service team was on the way, and Tommy just came out and checked all aspects of our system. He was very professional and polite while working at our residence. He also sanitized the coils, flushed the system, and improved the drainage to prevent issues. Great service!

Durham goes the extra mile! I had my entire A/C system replaced and Durham was so easy to work with. The unit I wanted was back ordered, and Durham loaned me several window units to keep my house from broiling while we were waiting on delivery. They have always been responsive, and extremely professional. Everyone who came to my house was respectful and knowledgeable, and everyone cleaned up after themselves. They were easy to work with on scheduling, and easy to get a hold of. They even called me when they were on the way over. The quality of work is excellent, I have absolutely no complaints. Any AC company can provide parts and install new units, but few can provide long term support like Durham and Sons can.My parents and grandparent were without AC for over a week. My grandfather has medical issues and so this was especially concerning. Temperatures were reaching unbearable levels. Calling 5 other companies gave us the same response that a critical part for our AC unit was on back order 1-2 months away! However, Durham and sons were our heros! My air handler was leaking water and lifting my tile floor. i called the handy man I usually use to fix things but he was not able to stop leak. I called Durham & Sons . They sent the owners son to trouble shoot the problem. He spent several hours crawling into cramped spaces and working on the outside drain. Im back in business again. I used Durham and sons to install my new system a couple years ago and I continue with my annual check ups. AC unit went down today and called them up. They quickly sent Paul over to help. Paul was very rude. Usually their technicians are very good and have good bedside manners so to speak but Paul was very short and assuming. He was confident that they didn’t install our units when we insisted that they did. He finally looked it up and saw that they did install it didn’t even apologize. I still recommend using Durham & Sons but hopefully you never get Paul. He thought he fix the problem quickly and left. Only to find out later that the AC unit would not work and it was after hours by that time.

Over the past 5 years we have had a few issues (none of them because of the install) with the system we purchased and they have always been nothing but professional, courteous, and a good price. Clayton replaced the thermostat and set the unit up properly so as to provide proper cooling and humidity control. I cant say enough good words to accurately reflect the outstanding service. Durham & Sons is an amazing company! Our A/C stopped working right during a spike in high temperatures and we (along with our dogs) were miserable. Matt, from Durham & Sons came out the same day we called, assessed our issue, and found that our A/C blower had stopped working . He cleaned the blower wheel and replaced the blower immediately. Our house was cooling down within about an hour of his arrival. He even did the yearly maintenance on our entire unit so we did not have to worry about anything else! Matt was amazing, professional, friendly and arrived before we expected him. He worked non-stop in the outside heat to get our A/C up and running so we could be comfortable again. Highly recommend Durham and Sons. We arrived home late in the evening after traveling to find our AC had stopped working. The next morning, I chose to submit an online request for service at the Durham and Sons website based on the great reviews other customers had posted. Durham and Sons met and exceeded my expectations. They called me shortly after my online request was submitted. Their tech was at my house within an hour of that call. And he had the problem diagnosed and fixed in less than an hour. Really exceptional.I was the only problem, as I did not keep my phone with me as I was vacuuming, trying to clean up some clutter before anyone arrived. I almost missed out on getting to work with Durham and Sons, but they showed me a lot of grace and professionalism even as I wasted some of their time as they diligently knocked on my front door and I failed to answer it the first time. The tech drove back to the house and I really appreciated his patience. So please dont be as negligent as I was. Always on time if not early! I have used this company on 3 separate occasions for new outlets, wiring and electrical panel upgrades as well as the installation of a combo light/fan for the bathroom where the previous installation was done I correctly. Service people are always polite and clean up all service call debris. The front office staff are always a pleasure to talk with. Ill be doing more business with them in the future.
