Excellent craftsmanship and commitment to customer service. The proposal prepared for us by Robert and Matt for our stucco remediation and window replacement was the most organized, technically comprehensive proposal we received. Robert and each of the team leaders were thorough in communicating throughout all the stages of the project, so we were able to make choices about design options without compromising essential structural and functional repairs. Our energy bills are down, our home feels more secure against the weather, and we feel very confident in the quality of the work and value of the warranties.

We chose five star and are so glad we did! When we purchased a home that needed a full stucco remediation we interviewed and obtained quotes from many companies. Five Stars quality of work and professionalism really stood out among the rest. They were easy to work with, attentive to detail, responsive and fully delivered going above and beyond. They are not the cheapest company but you get what you pay for, and we got the best!

We did our stucco remediation through Five Star and they were amazing in their professionalism and accommodation of all our requests during the process. The detail of their work was exceptional. They were very attentive and homey people that we get along with well. The house looks great and while they are not the cheapest, their price truly reflects the quality of their work. I would highly recommend Five Star to anyone who is doing a complete remediation of stucco.

Michal understands the science behind weatherproofing a home, including window and door flashing, proper roof installation, stucco removal, Hardie siding installation, etc., and is also a very knowledgeable General Contractor. He is professional and courteous and gets the job done right the first time. What more could you ask for? We also appreciate Five Star’s willingness to take on difficult projects in the city that other contractors would not attempt. Matt was very prompt and timely. He truly empathized with us, the homeowner, and the difficult situation that we were put in having our house not properly waterproofed when it was built. Martin was very professional and courteous with great attention to detail. Overall a great team that we would be happy to work with again.

When confronted with the decision to remove the stucco from our home my wife and I interviewed a number of potential contractors. We were very impressed with the explanation of the work Five Star would perform on our home, especially the proper flashing in order to prevent future moisture issues to our home. We are so glad we hired Five Star! They were true to their word about the stucco removal, the repairs done to our infrastructure, the flashing and sealing of our home to the installation of the Hardy Board. All the crews were very conscientious and concerned about our needs. By the end of the project we had grown friendly with many of the crew, they earned our trust and respect for the awesome job they did. We cant say enough about how professional they were, their attention to the smallest detail and how incredibly clean and organized they were during the entire project. Having gone through the emotional experience of a project this size we cant imagine having done it with anyone other than Five Star! We would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat.

I highly recommend Five Star Contractors to anyone in need of stucco remediation. We cycled through countless contractors who told me they could fix a leak at my house before finding Five Star, and I was deeply frustrated and skeptical of contractors. From my initial call to schedule an estimate through the completion of the work, I have been impressed with Five Stars professionalism, courtesy, and incredible craftsmanship. Five Star removed all the stucco from the back of our rowhome, reframed areas that had rotted, treated mold, applied Hardie siding, replaced our windows, built us a new roof deck, installed three new doors, and completed significant work indoors that had been water damaged, too. I have never seen people work as hard as the people who fixed our house. They are true craftsmen. Having seen the work of many other contractors at our house, watching the Five Star employees was like watching artists at work! They truly take pride in high quality work. Five Star was a very responsible contractor. Everything was done with permitting and the construction site was cleaned up every day. Through it all they were incredibly kind, friendly, and respectful. Best of all, our house has been water/mold-free since they completed the work. I simply cannot say enough good things about Five Star! I only wish they did general contracting - Ive been spoiled by such an amazing experience with them that its hard to find general contractors that live up to their professionalism and quality of work.

After having an addition and roof deck put on our home in 2015 we immediately began to have water issues, among many other mistakes that were confirmed by an independent contractor, and not correctly repaired by the original contractor. After interviewing other companies considered to be one of the best, we decided to hire Five Star.From day 1 beginning with Matthew Grill who came out to look at the problems, he educated on us on what went wrong, the proper ways to remediate it and answer our questions, patiently and professionally, something the other contractors did not do nor realize how important that initial first meeting is to a potential client. After his initial visit we knew who were going with.Shortly after, the owner Michal Zelubowski came out to look at everything himself, explained things again and answered remaining questions. Once the project was underway they were there everyday bright an early. Not one day went by where they were late or just didnt show up. With each phase of the project a new team came in to do their part and move on.When additional problems were found, the owner stepped in, came back out and explained to me what was going on and offered a solution. Communication and timely responsiveness was present from everyone from day 1 to the end. The project even concluded before I expected (bonus). The invoicing was succinct and matched the work, never an issue or a question in my mind.Michal runs a well oiled machine and even some of my neighbors commented on how hard they all worked. Their crew guys are the best. From demolition to repairs, big shout out to the P.M. Martin, Jerry, Jesse, Mykola, the demo crew, Dorothy in the office and anyone else I may have missed.My house looks better than before, and Im no longer afraid of rainstorms and flashfloods. I think they should change their name to Ten Stars!

After several years of research, we hired Five Star Contractors, Inc. to do our home remediation project (remove stucco/install Hardie Board, new windows, doors, garage doors, shutters, gutters, etc.). They are extremely knowledgeable and are experts in their field. They are organized, dependable, professional, patient and easy to work with. Their attention to detail is second to none. The office staff and project manager answer all phone calls/texts and return messages promptly. They are a little more expensive than other contractors, but are worth every penny. We cannot recommend Five Star Contractors highly enough. They are simply THE BEST!

Finding out you need to remediate the stucco on your house is disheartening and extremely overwhelming. We felt let down by our builder and needed a company that we knew would not cut corners; a company we could trust.Five Star Contractors is that company. They are extremely professional, helped us through the entire process and went above and beyond our expectations. They have specialized crews for each step of the process. Five Star workers were conscientious, cleaned after themselves and did a spectacular job on our house. We have received numerous compliments from neighbors. My husband and I couldn’t be any happier with the job they did and would recommend them highly to anyone that needs remediation of their house. Five star replaced our stucco with siding about 5 years ago and did a fantastic job. We noticed a piece of siding was broken a few months ago and called Five Star and they sent out a few workers right away and it was fixed quickly! They are professional and do fantastic work! Highly recommend!

I was in the real estate development business for 55 years. During that time I had dealings with many general contractors in the development of commercial real estate of all levels of complexity from full service hotels, shopping centers, single purpose projects as well as residential apartments and condominiums. The defects in the construction of my home were brought to my attention by a group of home owners in the same development. A law firm was retained to initiate action against the builder. After a year and a half of conflicting positions I was able to negotiate a settlement. I would not permit the original builder to undertake the remediation itself. I chose Five Star Contractors to do the work. They undertook the challenge to remediate the entire exterior of my home and to correct the damage whatever the extent. There never was any reluctance to do a total rebuilding including interior damage to my home’s structural integrity.The complete restoration was done with expertise and a timely performance. I just sold the home and in doing so had to have some very minor items addressed. Five Star returned without any issue.I would not have any question about recommending them to others.

When we read that Inquirer article we looked at each other and said hmm. Until then we were blissfully unaware of the problems that lay behind our stucco walls. The moisture report was not dire but strongly suggested that action was needed. We liked two proposals and settled on Five Star to do the work and have no regrets at all. Yes, the whole thing was traumatic both financially and psychologically but once the stucco was torn off and problem areas identified we started to feel good about things. The ten windows in the stone front were deemed ok but we bought thirty new ones for the rest of the house. The Hardie siding we chose looks great and we feel we have a new house!We were impressed by the good work of the crews. 7am was the typical start time and they often didnt leave until 5 or 6pm. Martin, our project manager, would text us in the evening as to the next days schedule.The work took eight weeks.I generally avoid making recommendations on anything but based on our experience with Five Star I feel confident that anyone faced with remediation would do well to have them fix your problem.

Five Star just completed a stucco remediation of our 3-year old 4-story row home in Fishtown, Philadelphia. We are so pleased that we hired this company and are very happy with the completed work. Stucco was removed from the back wall, the OSB sheathing replaced, water-damaged stud removed and replaced, all windows refitted and reflashed, new water-resistant membrane replaced, and finally, James Hardie siding fitted. Internally, all water-damaged dry wall, flooring, and ceiling was replaced and made good as new. We now have a home we are secure and comfortable in, and no longer fear rain and snow clouds. This crew exudes competence and knowledge. They are meticulous, took care of all the tidy up each day and were minimally impacting on us and our neighbors. The work comes with guarantees, and you can expect great lines of communication and understanding. Moreover, the siding looks great - sleek and modern. We are very grateful to Five Star!

Havent directly dealt with 5 star but have been in after they have done remediation doing chimney repairs or routine maintenance and the home owner s have nothing but good things to say about 5 star from start to finish. Word of mouth after the fact has to be worth a ton, its easy to complain about work after the crews have left and never heard a bad word.

I am writing this review four years after the completion of our comprehensive home exterior renovation- stucco shell, underlying repair from water damage, eaves and door/ window replacement. Everything looks great and works well. Even after a soaking rain, my house looks dry thanks to all the details like kick out flashings. Minor post completion issues like a door settling were taken care of promptly. This is a professional, quality driven contractor. I highly recommend.

Michal, President and Founder, and his brother Robert, Vice President of Five Star guaranteed a quality product, quality installation, and quality service. James Hardy Board not only beautified our home the installation was flawless (including the installation of brand new windows and doors). Painstaking steps were taken to preserve the landscape around the house to minimize any damage to the plantings, and, more important Five Star crews were meticulous in adhering to James Hardy protocol for installing all facets of the siding process. In addition, their concern for our total satisfaction was exrtaordinare. Every day the crew delivered quality workmanship from the more difficult tasks to the smallest detail. Five Star assisted with remediating issues not known prior to start of the project, and were very accommodating in changing a design at home owners’ request (“this is your home, we want to make you happy”).
