I got a full AC system installed in my home to include heat pump, ducting, and air handler. My experience was positive from the beginning. My quote was thorough, detailed, and competitive with other quotes I got. The install crew worked diligently at my house for 3 days. They were all pleasant people that showed competence and care for their craft and my home. I am very happy with the final product. Electrical work is clean and neat. It is quiet and energy efficient. Special shout out to Juan, my project manager. He was excellent at his craft and very pleasant to have around my home for 3 days. Couldn’t be happier with the final product.

Her knowledge and positive approach sold me on purchasing a tankless water heater. I wish to compliment Humberto who installed the water heater. He is extremely knowledgeable, pleasant, professional and a hard worker. I wish to compliment the two who cleaned the ducts. They too were exceptional and went beyond the call of duty. I honestly cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience working with Ballard Natural Gas Service. They were quick to respond to my initial inquiry. Tyler came to our floating home to answer all of my questions and provide a quote which was lower than other quotes I had received. He was informative, patient and a pleasure to work with. A few days later we made changes to what we wanted and he didn’t skip a beat, he provided a new quote and answered more questions. And offered for us to see the floor unit we were considering in their showroom which was very helpful.Juan and Aaron installed the unit and were great. They were respectful of our home, incredibly considerate and competent. Our floating home created some unique challenges and Juan and Aaron approached each challenge thoughtfully and with good humor. They were fabulous and we are thrilled with our new Mitsubishi floor unit and heat pump. I highly recommend Ballard Natural Gas Service.

We had Ballard Natural Gas install a heat pump and air handler. The whole team was very prompt and thorough and got the job done quickly when our gas furnace abruptly died. Questions were answered quickly—Neil was particularly great and clear at explaining our options and his recommendations. Zoe was helpful and patient in answering questions about payment options as well. They wanted to make sure we had a great system but also that the house heating was improved overall, and included some duct work in the quote to ensure the rooms furthest from the system were well heated. Their quote was competitive with others we received, but others did not include the duct reworking. The heat pump heats our house more evenly and it feels so much more cozy than the gas furnace we had before! We send our thanks to the whole team!!

Weve had the best experience working with Ballard Natural Gas! After a very successful ducted heat pump system install, they were the only place we looked to for a tankless water heater. Tyler was prompt at getting us proposals and answering our numerous questions. Coordinating install dates and rebates with Zoe was a breeze. Then, the field teams installed some amazing work - Jay with our heat pump, Mike with our water heater, and DJ with all the electrical work. I rarely take the time to write reviews but I had such a great experience working with Ballard Natural Gas Service to replace my old furnace with a new heat pump system. From their sales team Tyler and Amy to the project manager, electrician (Jimmy) and installers Alex and especially Humberto… they couldn’t have been nicer. They were thorough, on time and explained everything. I highly recommend them and feel confident that they will be there to help with any future services or questions as well. Very impressed!!!

Had a new furnace installed. Prior furnace was 20 years old and leaking gas. Meanwhile Alex was fantastic: he installed the new unit and thermostat in under 3 hours and everything works well now. Alex walked me through all the parts to ensure that if anything happened Id know how to handle it, or at the very least could describe it to him over the phone. Excellent work!

Justin was on time, cleaned and inspected our 2 fireplaces and got our remotes working again. We were happy with the service. However, one week later, our upstairs fireplace stopped working. It was remedied within a week, and were so happy to have our fireplace up and running. Well, about another week later, the pilot light went out again. We got a call from Chris and he stopped by on his way home from work on a Friday night, after fighting traffic, and got it working. I sent him home with brownies and a big THANK YOU. It may be our pilot assembly and he will have the office send an estimate on replacing it. So happy to have our fireplace working for Christmas!

I recently had my furnace replaced by Ballard Natural Gas Services. Tyler Klaudt, the design expert, came out and gave us some options to think about and provided us with three different quotes. Zoe helped us with financing, Bob did our sheet metal design and Juan was our expert installer. The whole process was low pressure and the quality of service was top notch. Zack and Corbin came to do a duct cleaning before an AC installation. They were friendly, professional and efficient. Special thanks to Zach for being so considerate of our cat and home while wielding long tubing in and around our house.The installation techs were equally as wonderful. Kevin, Mike and D.J. were focused, fast and patient with my questions about the new system.My thanks to these extraordinary techs from BNG! I’m a long-time customer of BNG because of this kind of workmanship, as well as BNG’s responsive customer service when there’s that very rare time when things aren’t perfect.A couple of communication issues, however, made for a slightly less than perfect overall experience this time: For instance, I specifically called BNG in advance to ask what to expect. The office staff failed to mention that big holes would be cut into the intake and return ducts. Imagine my surprise to hear metal being cut in our basement! All went well and the holes were neatly patched when the job was done, but this should have been clearly noted when I specifically called to avoid any surprises.Because of the communication blips, I regret that I can’t give a 5-star review this time.

Brady from Ballard Natural Gas did an absolutely fantastic job removing our ancient beast of a furnace and replacing it and its mangled old parts with a super efficient new furnace. He kept me informed throughout the day on his progress and walked me through the completed project after cleaning up very thoroughly. Zachary and Corbin who cleaned the ducts the week prior were also excellent and Tyler who prepared our quote and carefully explained all our options was great as well. Alex came to install a minisplit and heat pump today. He was incredibly helpful, happy to answer any and all questions that I had, and the new set up looks incredible!!! He got this done in under five hours, and even helped me clear the site for the unit outside. After installing the new system, he then helped take out the old furnace and shut off the gas. I strongly recommend Ballard Natural Gas for updating a heating system, and Alex did an absolutely wonderful job!! Thank you!

Great folks. Weve worked with them for at least 20 years. Theyre responsive, meticulous, excellent quality work. And if something goes wrong a few years down the line you can reach them to fix it, which is important when youre dealing with heating systems. We also like supporting a local business.My only suggestion is that they change their name to something like Ballard Natural Gas & Electric. They started with Gas but they also install heat pumps (way better for efficient heating and cooling) and heat pump water heaters--what we just put in. So way more than just natural gas.

Ballard Natural Gas Service Tech, Conrad M., was referred to me by a service tech at Bel-Red. I booked Conrad to do the annual maintenance on our gas fireplace insert. Conrad arrived on time, was very thorough, professional, and did everything required, no cutting corners! He gave the unit a thorough cleaning, including the medium – which I have never seen a tech do! After checking to make sure that the fireplace worked efficiently, he asked for our approval. YES, Conrad has a higher standard than the other tech’s that have “serviced” my fireplace! I am grateful for the referral, and grateful for Conrad’s work ethic which is so hard to find these days!

When we discovered different issues with our HVAC system, she was there right away and adjusted our scheduled service accordingly. She even reached back out after the service to confirm we got everything sorted out. Top tier customer service. She rules, and is the main reason we went with Ballard.The tech Ballard sent out Matt was fantastic. He provided me a ton of explanation and advice on what to do with my homes system, talking me through each step.Ballard has stellar reviews for a reason, and they dont do any of the discount for a positive review stuff you occasionally see from other companies in Seattle. If you need anything HVAC, go with them.

We just upgraded from a natural gas furnace and water heater to electric heat pumps and water heater after our gas furnace died. BNG was the HVAC vendor I chose after getting two other bids. I wanted to see twhat it would cost to replace with a new gas furnace and the cost if I were to go with heat pumps. BNG had the winning proposal and I went with the heat pumps over gas. Why? 1. I was pleasantly surprised at how cost competitive the heat pumps and water heater were compared to the gas alternative. The energy savings will pay for the difference in 3-5 years. 2. The functionality of my new heat pumps are far superior than gas alternatives. Not only do we get AC included but the heating efficiency and comfort is night and day compared to gas. With gas we used to have to set our thermostat at 70+ attempting to heat our whole house but then we’d overheat the upstairs and it would minimally heat rooms that were further away from the furnace. With the heat pumps and mini-splits, our temp has been set at 66 and it remains constant - there are no more cold spots. Even with a variable gas furnace, it just couldn’t do the job well. 3. Heat pumps are much safer. We probably had PSE called to our house 3 times in the last 3 years by neighbors who smelled a gas leak. Having known someone who died in their sleep from a gas leak, safety mattered to us. 4. I was so impressed with the whole BNG crew and their professionalism. They were so organized and clearly worked as a team over the 3 day project. Tyler, our salesperson was very knowledgeable and prompt. The install crew of Jay, Jimmy, Tony, and Mike were exceptional as was Zoe the scheduler. I just had the city inspectors (electric and HVAC) out to sign off and both of them said independently, “these guys did good work.” I was so pleased with the whole process, I contracted them to replace my in-laws failing oil furnace but that’s another review. They did a brilliant job for my in-laws too. I highly recommend BNG for your HVAC needs.

Conrad is our HERO! After two years with our wonderful Mitsubishi Mini Split Heat Pump, Im so glad we finally followed up on the annual maintenance visit (which I really regret NOT scheduling after year one). When Conrad came today to help us out he very kindly pointed out the dust-clogged filters, the interior coil parts that also needed a fair amount of cleaning, and the outdoor unit in our side yard that had been infiltrated by sneaky vines. We literally forgot that there were even filters to be cleaned ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, and now well never forget. Fortunately, no permanent damage had occurred and after a quick cleaning lesson for us to remember, Conrad also took care of everything and left us with the unit in the same shape as when it was installed. THANK YOU for all your kindness and support today, we so appreciate it.

A neighbor asked me today how we were enjoying our heat pump with 5 minisplits ( heads ) that Ballard Natural Gas (BNG) installed last spring (2024) After exclaiming that we should have done it years ago and lauding BNG for their install and price I realized that these guys deserved a review that reflected our great experience with them. BNG had previously provided great service on an old ( 20 + years ) gas furnace. We wanted to make more room in our basement and have a quieter heating system as well as add air conditioning.throughout the home. We had received various flyers and marketing materials offering rebates and promotions for several months. We met on site with three of those companies. We communicated multiple times with all three and got bids/estimates from all three. We then added BNG to the mix. Tyler came out and gave us a knowledgable, low pressure assesment in response to our questions and desires. We have a 100+ year old home and Tyler and the BNG team came up with creative ,code compliant ways to do an install that integrated virtually seamlessly with our home inside and out. They also gave us a guaranteed contract price (not an estimate ) with multiple discounts. BNG was within 5% of the lowest competitor but with a much better design and the same Mitsubishi equipment. BNG was 15% LESS EXPENSIVE than a major local competitor with a similar solid reputation....again with the same Mitsubishi equipment.Our install was done primarily by a team of 2-4 over 4-5 days. Umberto, Jay, Brady and Juan were all very professional, respectful and knowledgeable and cleaned up at the end of each day. We were especially impressed with the work ethic, creativity and communication skills of the young (ish) Brady. This was complemented quite nicely by the quieter more experienced and supremely skilled Jay.On price,quality,knowledge and professionalism we would hire Ballard Natural Gas again in a heartbeat and we do heartily recommend them to our friends and neighbors.

Today Ballard Natural Gas Service employees Corbin and Zack came out to clean the duct work in our house. They make a great team. They were courteous, congenial, and efficient. They worked around our goofy dogs with kindness, made sure they kept their work areas clean, were good conversationalists (like when my gregarious husband arrived who loves to meet new people). They even had video of the ducting to show their work! We are already feeling healthier in our home. Very pleased to be doing business with BNGS and their stellar representatives.Update: we just had a new heat pump installed by Ballard Natural Gas Services. I am pleased by the entire team and how they coordinated their work and expertise to provide seamless service and do a great job. From their sales rep Tyler, and coordinator Clinton, who set up the job and scoped out the project, to Juan, the on site HVAC project manager, Mike, the HVAC installer, and DJ, the electrician, they worked around us and our dogs in a pleasant friendly way, kept the place tidy, removed the crazy old system that was here and replaced it with a quiet, efficient Mitsubishi heat pump system that we are already enjoying. One week before a vacation I hopped in the shower after working out and---YOW!--no hot water. One call to Ballard Natural Gas, which had installed our new furnace a few years ago, and we were working fast to make sure we had hot water before we left the house to our house and pet-sitter.Ashley Pearson did a great job going over our options, helping us weigh efficiency and energy costs, pricing, rebate opportunities, and so on, and was patient with our questions. A day later we had chosen a tankless heater, and a couple days after that Matt Deehring installed it. Matt was friendly, explained what he was doing so wed learn, thoroughly showed us the workings of the new heater (like being able to hook a hose directly to it for bathing dogs, washing cars, etc. with warm water), and did a great job cleaning up the pantry where our water heater lives.This is our second flawless experience with BNG, definitely recommend. Yay, we have AC! After 3 years of dinking around and getting quotes from probably 9-10 different installers, we chose Ballard Natural Gas. Our reasons were #1-Tyler. The company has selected and values employees who are committed to the company, have the dedication necessary to master the details of the myriad of products they sell and equip them with the tools to give you a quote while theyre on site. I also trust that they will be here for the long run if we ever have problems. #2-Humberto, Anthony and their electrician Jimmy. They wired and installed our heat pump and two ceiling cassette type mini-splits (ductless) in one day. They had to work in our tight, hot attic and crawl space and climb behind the dryer, encasing their work area in plastic so no dust (or attic crapola) got into our living area. Very impressive. Oh, #3-best price too, but I would have paid a little more because of these guys!

In our 80 foot long Edmonds rambler.Probably about 250’ of ducting and 13 registers.Our installer Berto and his crew were on time each day and completed in time. You can sometimes hide bad work but you cant hide work that was done with integrity and experience.In discussions daily with Berto it was clear he takes great pride in his work . And then on the business side. Out of 5 bids , theirs was the least costly! We would choose them again, You Bet! They also were flexible in managing a late change by us. To switch the planned location of the outdoor unit to the other side of the home.

Warning - I am going to gush a bit here. A few weeks ago our 23 year old oil furnace started to act like it did not want to live in our house any longer. I contacted Ashley on the main line at Ballard Natural Gas to see if they had a tech who may be able to provide service, but was told that they dont service oil furnaces. Ashley asked me if I had considered switching our furnace out for a heat pump(which I had), but since we had just purchased a full tank of oil this summer, I was still sitting on about $1K worth of heating oil:(. She let me know that there were rebates available and other benefits that may help offset some of the costs and gave a great plug for Ballard Natural Gas being locally owned etc... So realizing how good Ashley was at her job, I thought that I would schedule an appointment to get an estimate for a Mitsubishi heat pump. This is where Tony comes into the picture, we had an appointment within two days; he was prompt, confident, knowledgeable and very thorough in going over all of the details of what it would mean to move from our oil tank to an efficient heat pump that would warm in the winter and cool in the summer. He convinced us to move from the dinosaur age(quite literally) to more modern and efficient technology. He went over all of the details of how the install would take place and gave us options for financing and advised on rebates etc.. and from the day that I called two weeks ago to the moment that I write this review, we have a brand new heat pump installed and it was not even a hassle. The installers Brady and Anthony have received a separate review from my husband because they were their own kind of wonderful. Bottom line I knew that I was dealing with a quality business who is able to hire and maintain the kind of employees and contractors who want to do their best. We called on BNG to give us a quote for a heat pump system to cool and warm our townhouse. The rep, Tyler, came by at the promised time, did a very thorough walkthrough, prepared a quote right then, answered our questions, and left us in good spirits. A competing quote was over $10,000 more expensive plus would have required a much more complicated installation. We scheduled the installation, a two-day job. Juan Galindo and his colleague, Mike, worked hard, but always had time for us when we had a question. They were very mindful of our house and its conditions, like the cats who needed their catio back (a duct had to run upstairs long the wall where it is) or the fact that doors needed to be kept closed. They were so pleasant to have around! As it turned out, they finished almost half a day early. Juan gave us a demo of how to use our system with its dual controls, explained what exactly had been installed and why, and it performed as promised when we turned it on. A very pleasant experience. The electrician, Aaron, had a similar approach when he explained to me what he had done to provide electrical connections for the heat pump and alerted me of a potentially highly risky condition affecting our electrical panel. Through the course of this project, Ive had numerous interactions with Zoe, who manages the companys office and schedule. Every single touch point was pleasant, efficient, and usually earlier and easier than I would have imagined, and all of it in good spirits. ORIGINAL:We first started using Ballard Natural Gas almost a decade ago, when we bought a house with a furnace installed and serviced by them. They were always prompt and professional and gave us a detailed “state of our (aging) furnace” as we went along so w could extend its functional life. RECENTLY: we were considering replacing our system with a heat pump and a/c. BNG came out to answer all my questions about the technology itself and potential installation. They took detailed photos of our house after asking thoughtful questions (which is how I discovered that they could solve my biggest frustration — of glass walled room with skylights never being remotely warm or cool enough compared to the rest of the house! Oh happy day!) and inspecting the home’s layout. They sat down right then to work through a highly-detailed and step-by-step proposal with photos that laid out exactly what would be laid out where, etc. BUT NEVER EVER A HARD SELL.Once we signed off, we were assigned a project manager who answered our questions, facilitated a late design change (our bad) on our behalf, and generally held our hand through the process. They managed the permit process for us!The installation itself was impressive. They’ve well-thought-through the order and speed of the process so that things move forward seamlessly, with one crew starting one aspect which preps for and leads into next step/crews. So it’s never like having a swarm of people, with some hanging out. They had it down to a science! In our case, alas, we discovered quite the hearty rat infestation in the attic (NOOO!!!!!ICK!!!), but they were so kind and helpful figuring it out — and STILL completed installation a full day ahead of schedule.It’s not just good work; it’s good people. And that’s pretty priceless, if you ask me.LOVING my new system. It’s been a very rough last half decade; things are looking up knowing we have reliable systems very well cared for so we can focus on pulling the rest of life together, ha.Very grateful to BNG. Brenden at Ballard Natural Gas has been out to our house a few times to fix different issues with our furnace, and he has always been very friendly, informative, and has done a great job! We have a Lennox gas furnace. Brenden has replaced a leaky collector box, done a full routine maintenance, and fixed an issue with our thermostat.They are always available to come up pretty quickly for us, and the price seems reasonable.We definitely recommend them!

The install went great, Joe, Bert, and Cole came in and were able to get everything installed, wired and integrated with our existing Gas Furnace, including moving the furnace and thermostat in less than a day. Now, 4 months later, it has been working great! It conquered the heat in August and has been keeping the house warm this fall. We had an electrical problem that caused a fuse to be blown. The technician found that two safety systems had been wired by the original installer in a way that caused a conflict that resulted in the blown fuse. He re-wired the system, etc etc.I will have Ballard Natural Gas do all maintenance from this point onwards.The same problem cropped up again. George Watts came out again to see if he could trace the problem. Fortunately, because he had already worked on the system he was able to trace the problem more easily this time. He discovered a scape on the insulation that barely exposed the wire. This may have caused intermittent arcing that caused the fuse to blow. We certainly hope so, because otherwise he will need to re-wire the connection between the air handler and the heat pump. This service call was done at no charge. Thank you George and Ballard Natural Gas. I look forward to many years of continuing service.

Overall very happy. || 4-stars because: I did need to put a lot of the attic insulation back in place myself (left in big piles with portions of the ceiling uninsulated); the demolition portion is delayed because they ran out of time; and my siding was accidentally broken (but repaired to the quality I expected).

I recently had a cooling system installed by Ballard Natural Gas Service. My experience from the start was great. I worked with Joe, in sales who made multiple trips to my home to help ensure I got what I needed. He was very responsive, professional and kind. The system is working great but today I needed a service professional to come out. Chris arrived promptly and worked to fix the issue which he did quickly. He went above and beyond tidying up the insulation that had come loose around the venting and piping in the attic. The attic was extremely hot given the heat in Seattle. He worked until the whole attic was neat and clean and insultion secured. He then checked my filter and discovered it needed replacing giving me a tutorial on how to do this myself. If I could give Chris 10 stars, I would. As I would do the same for Joe. These two guys are very competent, professional and kind as was my install team. I would recommend this company to others.

Excellent experience installing heat pump from start to finish. Consultant Tyler was knowledgeable and flexible and reworked proposal multiple times to meet our house and our needs. I also loved that he was practical and tried to reuse as much as possible of what we had and save us as much money as possible. They were very helpful and even aside from installing the heat pump and new return ducts left the house in a better state than before they came.

I just had two mini splits installed in my 5 level town-home, and Ballard Natural Gas Service did an INCREDIBLE job. I initially worked with Tyler who came to my home for several hours to walk through and design the system and best options, quote, etc. A few weeks prior Tyler, a project lead, and electrician came on site to finalize plans & details. The install team (Connor & Mike) were seriously amazing. Two full 8 hour days of work, and the attention to detail was perfection. I was nervous about how the HVAC wiring and pipes would look on my home, and they painted it to match the gutters on my home to look great, and they really spent time to make it line up well to the home. They would notify me and show me updates throughout, and pointed out everything they did. I am seriously very impressed with their work and would highly recommend them for a mini split install!!!

Justin came by our house and he was great. He did maintenance on our heating system. He was knowledgeable and thorough. I would give him 5 stars. I give Ballard 4 stars because two things happened during our appointment. When the heater was installed, the salesperson said that he could level out the temperature in our basement and main floor and that didn’t happen. We spent money on a system and it was better, but Justin told us it would still be a 9-10 degree difference, one year after the unit was installed. Justin also told us we were having corrosion in our unit and we need a corrosion grenade. That was never told to us at the installation. Overall, I do recommend Ballard and Justin. Just couldn’t give a 5 star. I would definitely give a 4.5 if I could.

Were very happy with our new system.Its not cheap (because this work isnt cheap) but its comparable to the competition, and these guys offer a 0% financing plan while the other guys dont, so it was a no-brainer for us.

This experience was seamless and easy. Clinton went above and beyond taking care of a yard situation that applied to the unit. I was so grateful. Crew that installed it was super respectful and did not damage my dahlias which was a major concern. Ive had people do work in the past and have completely torn apart my yard and this was not the case. The inside of my house was just as I left it after the install. Tyler was really personable and easy to work with. Zoe was quick to respond to any questions. Overall it was such a great experience working with Ballard Natural Gas. The price was fair. The customer service was excellent. Communication was excellent.I highly recommend them and would definitely recommend to my neighbors but frankly all my neighbors already used them for their air conditioning install too!

My 24 year old water heater finally died - quite a run! Called a few places and Ballard Natural Gas was by far the most reasonable. Very smooth process, texted a couple pictures to them, quoted over the phone, installation scheduled for two days later.The installer, Chris D., was on time, courteous and knowledgeable. His partner, Wilson, showed up a few minutes later and he was equally nice.My basement is a bit of a dungeon and Chris and Wilson did a fantastic job of removing the old heater and installing the new one. When they hit a snag, they didnt panic and instead face-timed an old-timer (thanks Norm) who looked at the situation and suggested the solution. They were great guys and knew when to get assistance instead of trying to use brute force.Great experience all around. Would highly recommend Ballard Natural Gas.
