We installed 3 hurricane screens earlier this year to protect our furniture and home from hurricane winds and rain. While 2 hurricane events damaged our pool screen - the furniture behind our new hurricane screens didnt move an inch nor was there a drop of water behind those screens. Best investment weve made! I had hurricane fabric panels installed for my entire home and am extremely pleased with the entire process. It was easy to call the company to schedule a visit for a proposal for the work and to sign the contract and schedule the installation date. I had the pleasure of working with Tony Brown for the contract who was very responsive to any of my questions and determining setting up payments and schedules and was able to connect me with the proper person to address my questions. Everyone at the company is extremely helpful and even worked with me to move the installation date to better fit my schedule. About three years ago West Shore Construction installed hurricane fabric for me. I used it in 2022 for Hurricane Ian out of an abundance of caution and it turned out there was no debris to protect my windows from.Fast forward to 2024, and I put up the fabric for Hurricane Milton. And when I got home, I could tell that that fabric held up beautifully to the flying debris. There are no tears or rips or anything. But it definitely protected my windows. I could see where debris hit the fabric instead of directly on my windows.I feel like I got my money’s worth and this was a wise investment. West Shore Construction did a wonderful job with the install. They were professional. And they worked with some unique characteristics of my windows, namely, that I have clamshell awnings that I cannot leave up in a windstorm so they accommodated that because I did not want to remove the awnings.

Recently had hurricane motorized lanai screens installed and they are worth the price! From the moment we talked to Tony the sales rep at the Sarasota home show to the finalized project everyone has been great! Tony explained everything about the benefits of having the screens, the installation process, how the screens are made and most important how he is always available during and after the process if we have any questions or concerns about them! We had a few minor questions about the permit process and installation. We contacted him by text and he responded immediately. The whole process was very smooth from installation, permit and electrician. Westshore just wrapped up my installation of Hurricane Cloth around two openings on my back lanai area. They were able to work around a counter that jutted out around the installation area. (one other company wouldnt even give me a quote to deal with that) Very happy that Westshore was able to accommodate. They went over the entire installation process and how to put up the cloth. They took the time to take down my curtains and put them back up as to not get them dirty. They left the job site cleaner then when it was started. They had a crew of three and did the work promptly. Throughout the process they kept in communication around scheduling etc. The product they installed was not cheap but doing some research and shopping around I know there price was fair. Considering the professionalism they displayed I would say its a good value. I would definitely use Westshore again.

I moved to Sarasota, FL in the beginning of 2022 and was so worried about the storms and hurricanes, so I got my hurricane fabrics installed last year, and loved West Shore Construction doing the job. They (Scott and Shaun) communicated well, were on time, it was professionally done, and I am feeling so much better knowing that my windows will be protected. I went through Ian (my first ever hurricane) and all windows and glass sliding doors remained safe and everything turned out well. The best of all, I was able to put the fabrics up on my own, climbing the tall ladder to the second floor, and I didnt need to rely on others when the emergency arrived and everyone was busy preparing themselves. Just had my job completed two weeks ago for three Hurricane screens. Thought it was all for not and I lost that money/investment along with everything else the surge from Hurricane Helene took from us.Two photos show what is being discarded from the house. The install crew were unbelievable, kind, so professional and went above my expectations. We had a small issue and they brought it to our attention, workers just don’t do that nowadays. We live in a 55 and over community and after seeing our beautiful hurricane shutters and their hurricane screens for patios, just about everyone in our development is using them. West Shore Construction was so wonderful to work with! Tony was communicative, friendly, and made sure he did everything to make our job go as smoothly as possible. We got a few hurricane impact windows put in, along with a new impact back door and hurricane fabric panels on the remaining windows, and everything went smoothly. The process took some time since we had to get Historic Preservation approval, but Tony kept checking in and providing everything we needed as soon as we needed it to get through that process. He also made us aware of the MySafeFlorida program which has helped us tremendously and made the project possible! WoW - Talk about a great experience from start to finish! Jim, my project manager, did a great job explaining the options for hurricane protection and provided me with several quotes. I asked a bunch of questions, which he answered quickly, completely, and even provided pics of the screws that would be installed on my house.When it came time to install, they called to confirm the time the day before, and arrived bright and early. The install crew leader, Shaun, was great to work with. He walked me through each step of the process, answered my questions, and found a creative solution to address a couple of things that unexpectedly popped up. The guys that built the railings were top notch. They paid close attention to the details and made corrections as necessary. In short, they built the railing like it was going onto their own house. I engaged with them throughout the project and they were always willing to stop and talk to me about the progress. When we did run up against a problem, they quickly informed me, offered me a solution and got it done. In the end, the project turned out even better than we hoped. We purchased hurricane panels, from Westshore Construction, for our home in early 2022. Our plan included fabric panels for 9 windows, a motorized screen for the front door and the large window above the door, and lastly, we installed their largest motorized screen for our lanai. The large, motorized screen is 22 feet wide and 10 ft tall. It provides protection for two pool door entrances and a 12 foot wide three panel sliding glass door. We previously had steel hurricane shutters for the entire house and it took three people almost a full day to install them. They were heavy, took a lot of space to store, and cut your hands when installing.I am a disabled veteran and not able to lift things. I held the ladder while my 21-year-old grandson installed all the fabric panels in less than two hours.We then moved all of our loose items inside the lanai and when the storm was about an hour away, we pressed a button and our motorized screens lowered.We had winds gusting to 70 MPH. During the worst part of the storm, I sat on my Lanai and could watch the storm through the screen. There was not even a breeze behind the screen. I am not exaggerating -absolutely no wind penetrated the screen. The next morning, I hooked up a small battery to the screens and raised them. To my surprise there was no water on my lanai. It was completely dry.This system is easy to install, protects your house, and my 9 panels fit into two medium size nylon bags. The total weight is about 45 pounds.The entire crew was professional, on time, and they stand behind their work. I absolutely recommend them.

Laz took the time to explain the material and methods they used for installing the hurricane fasteners as well as how to put up the fabric when needed.They did a great job of cleaning up as well !I own rental property here and it has been difficult to find qualified pros in this area, so Westshore is a terrific find for me!
