I’ve known Grant and Brian for years. They are skilled in it all including commerical, industrial and residential electrical work, as well as service calls. I’ve become friends with them and their crews over the years. Highly recommend!

Sowder Electric furnished and installed a whole house generator that uses natural gas as its fuel source. Prior to quoting the project, the installer came to my home and gathered information used to size the generator. We also settled on the exact location of where the generator was to be installed. He told me to contact the gas company and ask if a bigger gas meter would be required. He also showed me where the gas riser was to be placed.After the gas company installed the bigger meter (which was required as the Sowder installer had thought) and placed the gas riser, Sowder came to set the generator, made changes in the existing circuit breaker box, mounted and wired the transfer switch, and ran the conduit to the generator. Unfortunately, it started to rain heavily and they had to quit for the day.Upon their return, they completed the wiring and tried to start up the generator. The generator took a while to start, and when it did start, it ran rough. After some trouble shooting, the installer said there was not enough flow of natural gas to the generator. I called the gas company, and they were able to come out the next morning to meet with the Sowder installer.The Sowder installer told the gas employees what needed to be changed. Although the gas men did not think the changes would solve the problem, they went ahead and did what Sowder wanted done. Sowder returned that afternoon, and the generator started right up and ran smoothly. Sowder did their final checks and tests. Everything is GOOD.Later that evening, the two gas company employees who made the changes, stopped to see how the generator was functioning. I started the generator for them, and they could not believe that the changes they made solved the problem. Weve installed hundreds of these and never had a problem with the way we did it before.Sowder Electric knows what theyre doing. I am totally impressed and staisfied with this company and their installer in particular.

I am truly impressed with this company. When you interact with the staff and the owner, they do not talk to you like a customer. They talk to you like a friend. This is a straight up, honest company. The prices are fair, they give you amazing ideas, and they show you what would be a cheaper alternative. They are not that company who is trying to take your money, they are that company who will earn your trust and truly earn you business. Do you need a simple electrical fix? or a new building needing electricity? Call Sowder. These are the folks you want working with you.

What an amazing and honest crew. the do the electrical work at multiple properties i manage. they always return calls and they are fair priced. he has a great working relationship with the city and power board so he knows what needs to be done so that your electrical job goes smooth with out headaches.i cant recommend them enough.
