    An excellent experience with Jason and Dillon! They arrived at the church exactly when they were scheduled and were professional and cordial. Their communication skills were outstanding as was their expertise with efficiency in removing our existing furnace and replacing it along with a thermostat. They took the time to explain the job and possible things to be aware of with a new system as well as what should/should not cause alarm. We were pleased with their attention to detail and safety protocols as well. They left their work space exactly as they found it and checked in to let us know they were finished and leaving. Between the two installers there are several years of experience and competency so we look forward to working with them again if necessary.

    Zach, Tyler and Issac were absolutely wonderful to work with from start to finish. A great group of men who were knowledgeable, friendly and very detailed in their work. Even being told to not worry about the mess on the floors (as it was wet outside) as I would clean after they left, they absolutely insisted on making sure my home was cleaned up. Great team of guys highly recommend Halco for all your home needs! Will be seeing them all again in the near future.

    Jenny Trevor and Zu did an excellent job installing our geothermal heat pump. They were very thorough, friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Jenny showed us all the setup modes and safety features and they cleaned up the work area very nicely. The piping was neatly installed and followed the ceiling angles perfectly. Good job!!

    I’m so impressed! Halco phone service reps were quick to answer my call, thorough in finding out what was wrong, professional in letting me know the costs before the technician came, and thoughtful in calling me back with the first available appointment the same day! Steve, my technician, provided excellent, expert, professional service on a nonworking furnace that has been serviced a total of 4 times unsuccessfully in the last 2 months by another company in town. He was very experienced and explained clearly what might be the problems, and indeed, he was right! I’m very thankful that Steve came to the rescue, a nice guy, too, and brought heat back to my house. I will be switching to Halco for all my future heating and energy maintenance, installation and service!

    Mark came out for a scheduled sink swap out and as luck would have it we had a shower faucet get stuck the night before (timing is everything!). With visions of a major repair, he was able to change out the gasket and get us up and running. He was courteous, calming and professional. The new sink is great too!

    Having a 2nd floor bathroom redone. Needed to have blend valve and new trap installed. Upon seeing the galvanized pipes Mike asked how was the water pressure. After discussion we decided to replaced lines from basement. He was able to get it done in a few hours and stayed a little late to finish. I would highly recommend this company.

    Angie Riley was fabulous! Courteous and professional in every way. She explained everything she was doing offering advice along the way. While she was here our ice water maker on our refrigerator malfunctioned and water rapidly leaked everywhere. She helped troubleshoot the problem and resolved the issue. Angie let us use her wet/dry vacuum and even helped with the clean up. She would not accept any additional cash for this unrelated help. Angie went above and beyond to help us in this emergency and for this we are extremely grateful. She’s a great asset to your company. As always, the service from Halco was superb!

    We just had geothermal installed this summer and I could 👏 not 👏 be happier with their work. From the start when we were collecting quotes (we had four), Halco was professional, while being caring individuals at the same time. We considered air transfer heat pumps as well as geothermal, and ultimately chose Halco even though it was not the “lowest cost bidder”. They had the most well rounded service offering, including maintenance after installation.In the end, we had *so many* occasions to validate our choice! The Halco team stood by their word, even if it meant they were at a disadvantage. The sub contractors they partner with are just as lovely as they are. Each member of their team, including their subcontractors, were professional, highly skilled, thoughtful, efficient, and creative when needed! They ran into issues throughout the project (our home threw a few curve balls!), but each time, the team overcame each issue, while always being mindful that this is our >home

    Our house suffered serious water damage throughout due to a leak in the heat pipe on the second floor caused by the cold winter weather. In a situation where the exact location of the leak was uncertain, Jacob Kirkendall, a heating technician from Halco, quickly pinpointed the source of the leak and made the repairs promptly. During the process of restoring the water, he was extremely careful to check for any additional leaks at every step, demonstrating great attention to detail and well-honed skills. I believe his skills are excellent, and I am extremely satisfied with his service and truly appreciate his efforts.

    Halco was great. Their employees were polite, considerate and answered questions thoroughly. They did cellulose and spray foam insulation in attic and basement levels, installed a basement door and window, as well as some other upgrades and repairs. My house was neat and tidy when they were done and I am happy to be warmer and draft free.

    Dan and Cody arrived early, figured out what the cause of my water problem was almost immediately, fixed it with minimal use of extra parts, then explained to me how to maintain the taps to keep future buildup from causing a problem in the future.     Like any large construction/renovation project there were unexpected challenges that came up, esp. given its an old house with multiple tenants. I was impressed by the leadership at Halco as they were very responsive to my concerns and needs. In particular they took health matters seriously and had tech savvy methods to air out and remove unavoidable VOCs that were part of doing the foam and paint. They clearly wanted the work done right and for me to be happy and comfortable with the end result. I would recommend them.

    We recently had a home energy audit done, and we couldnt be more impressed with the experience. The auditor or Energy Advisor, Mr. Sean Hillson was incredibly thorough in his work, inspecting every corner of our home to ensure no detail was overlooked. He took the time to explain each step of the process, making sure we understood what he was checking and why it was important. His communication was excellent, keeping us informed about areas of improvement and offering practical solutions.     Mark efficiently identified and resolved our plumbing issue. The work required accessing a vent pipe inside a wall. Mark made as small of a hole in the wall as he could to complete the needed repair. He then securely remounted the removed drywall, which will only require minimal patching and painting on our part. He carefully cleaned up during and after he finished his work. Ive never experienced a plumber leaving the worksite as clean as he did. Thank you Mark!

    Halco overall did an amazing job for me. New outdoor electric panel, heat pump install with blower and one mini-split, duct repair / replacement, duct cleaning and finally, spray foam insulation. In particular, the crew that did the duct repair and sprayfoam insulation (shoutout to Kevin and Noah!) were truly a pleasure to have around and answered all my questions. I feel informed and confident in my new system. The company took the time to address some concerns I had at the start of the project and went above and beyond in correcting any mistakes.     Two jobs scheduled at the same time.1) geothermal system had a leaky pressure relief valve. Replaced under our service contract.2) water softener had stopped working and our whole house water filter would not come apart to replace the filter. No service contract for the plumbing, but they serviced both (softener needed significant cleaning) in under 2 hours. Not cheap, but their service is excellent, timely, and they have excellent communication.

Called when he was 20 minutes away and arrived ready to fix our problem.I so appreciated that your company was able to come the same day I reached out but I felt your pricing maybe a little steep for us.     My entire experience with Halco from start to finish was outstanding! My first contact was with Sean, Halcos pleasant and knowledgeable home energy advisor who came to my house to evaluate and size what equipment I would need and then help me decide the best location and way to install the mini split. He promptly prepared a very itemized cost proposal and answered any of my questions about items I didnt fully understand. When installation day came, two very capable conscientious young men showed up - Kaleb (foreman/technician) and Connor his assistant. Both men clearly knew what they were doing and spent the full day running electrical lines, installing the split inside the house and the compressor hung outside. They worked quickly and efficiently as a team and both men seemed happy working for Halco - which is always a good sign:). In sum, I would highly recommend Halco for any HVAC needs..

    Upon arrival, David and Harrison introduced themselves before3 entering our home.Our Halco visit today was to discuss an alternative water system to our current 20 year old system and a leak behind our washer...David reviewed the notes made by Halco during previous visits (heating system; not water) which gave a full-complete understanding of our home pipe/heat/water system. David provided us with new options to our existing filter and softener system and will be providing us with an estimate within a few days.David and Harrison were very good listeners(to us the owners) and provided tons of useful insight to an existing leaking pipe behind our washer machine. They fixed what they could-which stopped the initial leak and identified two hoses that needed be replaced. They will be returning to replace the pipes...We look forward to reviewing the estimate and working with them on our current and future home needs.

    I heat my home with kerosene and its not easy finding someone to clean and do maintenance on the furnace. I called Halco and they sent their guy, Chris. Very polite and kind.     We contracted Halco to install our solar system. They were great and worked with us every stage to make sure we were getting what we wanted and how we wanted it. They also worked through the painful dealings with the utility company and did their best to push the approvals through. They even came back and walked through with the local building inspector to get the final sign off from him.

    Jennitsia and Trevor went above and beyond to install my heat pump. It was not an easy project since it is a historical and old building. They found clever ways to hide the piping to maintain the character of the building and to create a great look! Jennistsia is hard working, a good communicator and very knowledgeable. Not everyone will be lucky enough to work with her, but you should make the request!

    Chris Van Pelt came to fix a hot water issue. It was a mystery as to what was causing the problem. After calling the manufacturer of the boiler and taking everything apart and replacing one piece, the boiler is now working.Chris was extremely pleasant and patient during this whole process.     So nice to know that if there is a problem with the heat one phone call can take care of it quickly. No heat on a Sunday morning - beyond my ability to diagnose and an hour later the technician arrived, diagnosed and cleared the problem. Definitely worth the service contract.

    The Halco crew did an outstanding job of removing a failed A/C unit / air handler and installing new ones. I have pretty high standards and they did a really great job in ensuring it was not only installed properly, but that it looked as aesthetically pleasing as HVAC equipment can. They were great about cleaning up after themselves as well. Highly recommend.Edit: Unfortunately 10 days later, we noticed water spots on our bathroom ceiling - directly below the new air handler. It seems the drain lines were not properly installed which has resulted in a fair amount of water leaking into the attic/ceiling. This is a dynamic situation and they are in the process of resolving it, but I cant leave this as a 5-star review given the current circumstances. I am hopeful that all will be made right as has been indicated, and I will provide a final update once the situation is resolved.Final Edit: Halco sent a team of folks to fix the issues with the initial install, repair the water damaged drywall, and ensure appropriate failsafes are in place to drain/trap/alert if ever there is a future issue. Obviously I cant give 5-stars given the issues, but I am willing to bump it back to 4 given the response.

    September 2024: After our great experiences in the past we went back to Halco for installation of our new electric heating and cooling system. Rex and Jake were fantastic throughout the process. They were punctual, communicative, and incredibly courteous. Our two friendly but vocal dogs were eager to be involved in the project despite our best efforts but both Rex and Jake were very polite in dealing with the extra eyes on them through much of the day. My assumption was that perhaps loss of ventilation had created a condensation issue. They did not try to blame the issue to the work made by other contractors.     HALCO responded quickly to my report of air in my natural gas hot water baseboard system. My boiler was an older unit (2006?). It was tested for efficiency and found to be working well. The valve that adds water to the system was stuck (and unstuck), but everything else appeared to be working within acceptable limits. The repairman took the time to explain how everything worked. Options for replacement of various parts were evaluated as all are getting on in years. It was decided to schedule a follow-up maintenance/cleaning for the unit sometime this spring at which time some replacement parts might be installed if further problems are noticed.I am within the Village of Lansing area where there is a special program for homeowner financial assistance via NYSEG & Earth Sensitive Solutions (earthsensitive.com) for air-to-air or geothermal heat exchanger installation and HALCO is one of the participating installers. There is a possibility of HALCO replacing the natural gas setup with equipment that does not use natural gas. This will also be investigated via HALCO if there is sufficient financial incentive.UPDATE June 2023: Just had my air conditioner, gas boiler & generator serviced. The job was done efficiently in spite of a steady rain. I was especially pleased with the detail of the report on what was done on each unit. Bravo again, HALCO!Thanks, HALCO! Job well done!UPDATE December 2023: I decided to take advantage of the incentives from NYSEG, New York State and the Federal government to switch from natural gas to air-to-air heat pumps. Matt S., Installation Division Manager, was there at the start and toured with the electrical inspector & Matt D. at the finish.Zach C. also coordinated the work with Del, HALCOs excellent electrician and his capable assistant David to assist with new outlets for an electric stove, EV level 2 charger and electric dryer. I was impressed (as was the electrical inspector) with the neatness of the electrical installation and the way Del assisted Zach with the job.The project easily passed inspection and the equipment works flawlessly. It was also a learning experience for me, as I now understand much better how the electrical and remaining natural gas fixtures work in my home. This experience was top-notch as well.We had a gas leak in the pipe leading to our dryer over the weekend.Dan from NYSEG got the gas leak under control, and noticed the accordion-like air vent line was leaking as well. This can cause CO to back-flow into the house.HALCO came and took care of the air vent in short order. Brad even helped me clean out the air vent pipe, as a bunch of dryer-lint had built up in there.Thank you again, HALCO!

    Mike was absolutely amazing! He explained step by step what we were looking at and what he was doing during the whole process of seeing why my a/c unit on my central air wasnt working.     Halco sent Bob to diagnose a late ignition problem on the boiler of the non-profit that I managed and he very quickly and professionally figured out the issue(s). Bob explained the work being done, showed me the components that were causing the issue and explained why they were the cause.We talked about a yearly service contract for our HVAC systems and I am recommending to the Board that we use Halco going forward.Five stars.     My husband and I are in the process of taking over care for his father’s home and property, and we are very much in the “who do we call to fix this” stage of things. I am SO glad that we got Andrew for our first plumbing service call. While we are planning relatively extensive kitchen and bathroom remodels for this upcoming year, we called Halco this week for a burst hose pipe on the outside of the house. The pipe runs from the root cellar, through the foundation wall, and to the outside of the house. We were worried the job would be complicated, because everything with this old house winds up being complicated—and because we genuinely had no idea when the last time anything was replaced or serviced. Andrew was here for a little under two hours and provided not only a fix, but also enormous peace of mind. I am discovering the unparalleled comfort that comes with a professional telling you “the rest of the line looks great.” He is worth every penny spent (and saved). We will definitely be calling Halco, and hoping for Andrew, when we start our planned projects later this year. And for anything that comes up in the meantime.     For the last month or so Ive been working with Halco and Sarah Cox in particular to determine what kind of work we want and need for a major HVAC upgrade (from fossil fuels to efficient electricity). I am not only pleased but grateful for this process. In terms of returning calls, following up, friendly people, excellent and insightful advice, work with you where you are at, etc, all around it has been a great experience getting a quote for work. In terms of educating me, and having a real give and take with us working within a budget and prioritizing different aspects of the system, I feel confident we are investing in the best fitted components of the best system available for our needs and budget, and that peace of mind makes me feel great about the work we are going to be doing. Another review to come :)Okay, so here it is, about a month later. The work is 90% done and I couldnt be happier. I had an oil furnace and propane water heater replaced with heat pumps, and the electric panel was upgraded to accommodate this work, our HVAC ducts got cleaned, etc. The thing I appreciate most is the real effort each member of the team made not just to do the job, but to do the job to the highest standard, as if these were their own houses systems, and they werent going to do work that didnt make sense, or was a short-cut or in any way incomplete. For instance, although we originally planned to clean our existing HVAC ducts and use them as is, it turned out they were insufficient for the pressure needed to have the system work optimally, not to mention looking like an unruly octopus in the basement. In the end they decided to redo the ductwork almost entirely, at their expense, because that was the right design for the system. There were little details, like each appliance having an outlet attached (always useful to have an extra outlet around) and a little bin to attached to the heat pumps hold the manuals (which you never know where to keep or find). On time, considerate, hard-working, thoughtful, and truly committed to quality work. I feel completely confident the job was done as well as is reasonably possible to expect. Thanks guys (and gals)! You have a customer for life :)...Fast forward nearly two year later. I ended up getting the 10 year parts and labor service and it just paid off for us already. A power surge knocked out the blower and computer board on our heat pump, and after waiting a couple days for parts to come in (they offered me space heaters to help out for the days without heat.), it is installed and running with no additional cost to me. The customer service and technician Acacia were all great...again.

    They put insulation throughout my house. In addition, they sealed off doorways where drafts were getting in. They also had light bulbs changed to low energy halogens. There was one thing that I had not noticed for a week or so after they finished. Although I seemed to have some communication mishaps with them, they came and fixed the problem.They are a very reliable company. I could not recommend them more!!! I thank them for such amazing service.
