    I recently had my boiler expansion tank blow on Thanksgiving day - luckily I had a replacement and installed it myself. Back in business (sort of).Noticed that boiler was continuing to rise in pressure over the next few days so called Beacon/Shaffer whom Ive been dealing with since 2007 for service and oil deliveries.The appointment was scheduled for between 8-9AM and Dean (dont lose him Beacon!) one of the senior service techs showed up right at 8:15 and we replaced a number of parts on a 14 year old boiler that I wanted done, altogether while fixing the original issue of the increasing boiler pressure. Dean was very informative, patient with my questions and made some recommendations which we did that day regarding a PRV valve among other things.Cost was fair and reasonable.Outstanding service. Would highly recommend from a long time customer.

    Had a leak in my tank and Shaffer Beacon was quick to respond and do a swap out with a new Roth 275. Tyler and Todd were mindful of my animals that live in the basement so they wouldnt escape while they were in and out. They worked were very professionaly and answered all my questions as well update me on things they were changing. Price was average when I shopped around but it was quality work and would 100% use then again for my heating needs.

    Thank you, thank you, thank you!! A fabulous company to work with from start to finish. Rebecca was awesome, contacting me prior to the AC installation to obtain information to initiate the rebate process for me. The guys that did the installation were nice and professional. They cleaned up and made sure I knew how the new system operated. This year they installed the AC, 2 years ago it was the heater. I trust them and they never disappoint!!!

    Had some issues with our A/C system. Shaffer’s HVAC tech did a full check up of condensers and air handlers and found no problems. Determined that the issues were possibly from power fluctuations from strong storms in our area. Now am confident we are ready for rest of summer.

    Wonderful local company. The first people I call when I have a problem around the house. If they cant fix it they always know someone reliable that can.Update, just called them to get a quote on replacing a 40 year old oil tank. Someone came out the same day and I had the quote a little later. It was a little more than I was hoping for, but a second quote was slightly more. I signed the contract and they scheduled the work 2 days later.I havent always been as happy with the company since they merged with Shaffer, but their oil prices have been about 50 cents a gallon cheaper than another oil company that delivers to my sons home in Portland. Unfortunately, Shaffer Beacon doesnt deliver to Portland.Update 2, they removed the old tank yesterday and installed a beautiful Roth tank that looks really high tech. Unfortunately, the 270 gallon tank was too big to get into the basement, so they had to go get a 165 gallon tank. Should be OK as a normal fill up is around 100 gallons. Also, they had to cut up the old tank to get it out. I had thought the estimate was a bit high, but the Roth tank is way nicer and pricier than the old steel ones, there was new vent piping because of code changes and a lot of really hard work. Im really happy with the result.Update 3, had a furnace tune up and a corroded part replaced. As usual the tech did a nice job. 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟.Latest job: A week ago our water started to turn off and then come back. Called Shaffer Beacon and it turned out my 40 year old well pump was shutting down on overload. They scheduled to replace the pump the following week and Randy and his crew did an amazing job. Pulling a 40 year old pump thats 185 feet down isnt an easy job. They replaced the pump, the piping, the wiring and the pump cap, so everything is brand new. They also suggested, and I agreed, to replace the 40 year old pressure tank rather do it later on a separate service call. Unfortunately for Shaffer, Randy is retiring next month, which will be a great loss, but Im sure his assistants will fill his shoes. Next will be the 40 year old boiler and 40 year old oil tank.

    Great plumbers and heating guys. They have some guys who’ve been there for years that really know their stuff.Replaced my oil tank and hot water heater and replaced my furnace 15 years ago and I’ve only used them for annual furnace cleanings until this year.Was a bit saddened that this year they didn’t have a fixed price to just do annual maintenance on the furnace.The only fixed price option is their comfort club which requires I buy my heating oil from them and also needs to include other hearing/cooling systems besides just the furnace.I would be fine if they were able lock in a price for the oil season or let me buy x gallons at the beginning of the season and then deliver those gallons during the season. I don’t like hoping and praying that the price of oil will be reasonable for the entire season. I got hit one season with a really big bill when the price of oil took an unexpected very large increase.Very disappointing. Very sad because I like their work; just not the new pricing.

    We had Ed come out recently to our church and once to our parsonage. He was professional, thorough and very polite. We had one major issue at the church which he addressed but then he took care of several smaller issues, including getting the heat back on in the pastor’s office. I was glad they sent him to additional work at the parsonage and the experience was similar. He explained everything so even I could understand it. Thanks Ed, and thanks Beacon for a job well done.

    Today we had scheduled service for the furnace. Jesse noticed that the installation of the humidifier drain control was not hooked up and informed us what needed to be done. He also installed tstat with humidity control. We have had Beacon twice a year for many years doing our service for our furnace and air conditioning. This is the first time that we were informed about this issue. We are very pleased with Jesses knowledge and work ethic!

    I have been using Shaffer for years but now they are called Shaffer Beacon. I needed some regular maintenance for both AC and heating system. Michael (a very professional young man) came right on time this morning at 8AM, and did a thorough inspection. He was extremely thorough, professional, and also showed me how to order the correct air filter for next time as the current one is a reusable which is not as effective as the good quality disposable ones. I will continue to use Shaffer Beacon for HVAC for my house.Thank you Michael!

    After several long months of getting quotes and comparing products; we recently had a boiler, hot water heater, and oil tank installed by Beacon Mechanical. Shane and his team at Beacon helped make our loan process and installation go as smoothly as possible. Shane took the time to make sure all my questions were answered and that we were getting the best system for our needs. The installation team was friendly and professional and got our install done quickly. They were so accommodating when our plans had changed for part of the install day of. I had some concerns about an oil spill on the basement floor from removing our incredibly old boiler system and Mike and Dan did an exceptional job to make sure the floors and area were left as clean as they found them. We will definitely be long term customers of Beacon and recommend to all our local family and friends.

Their prices are very competitive and they also happen to be very local for me. Lionel, the technician who serviced my boiler, was awesome.     We purchased a property with a 1 year old furnace that Beacon had installed for the former homeowner. An adjustment needed to be made to the venting and Beacon came out and completed the work under warranty. We give them 5 BIG stars for that because they did not have to do it. In addition the workmanship on the entire installation really stands out as first rate. Thank you Beacon for delivering service excellence that is so rare to encounter in todays times:-)

    In today’s Covid world, it has become increasingly difficult to find solid & follow thru providers nationwide, but these folks and specifically our project lead “Shane” was exceptional in truly thinking about our unique HVAC needs versus trying to aggressively push down their own solutions to an older home renovation we are working on. He was uniquely creative in presenting different options and answering our many questions.We hire contractors, HVAC and plumbers nationwide for a variety of projects, and we’re not sure about contracting a company that just went thru a merger - but Shane’s expertise, home customized solutions and quick follow up made our decision to move ahead with these folks, and as of today we are glad we did.As in any major home project you undertake during these covid years, make sure Shane secures equipment as soon as you are ready to go and be flexible on the scheduled installation time ( ie, supplies delays, covid absences and weather/snow storm). If you need the remote Wi-Fi thermostat so you can program the system remotely like we do - make sure they order that as soon as order is placed, and like with every home renovation project and provider used during these covid years - make sure your final payment piece is subject to final inspection approval always.The team on site with Scott as install manager and not sure on the name of the other onsite manager (Dave?) as install lead also did a great job and stayed on top of quality checks on the install.

    Consistently the lowest oil prices in the Granby area. Just called State Line and their price was $4.21 vs. Beacon which is $3.93. They keep my credit card on file and I simply call when I want another $100 gallons delivered. Courteous office staff and drivers and reliable fuel delivery. Did a good job servicing my furnace for the annual tune up.On the downside I would not recommend them for installing mini split style ductless air conditioning systems. Had their cooling techs out to the house to have a look around and they had no idea how to design the system. I have an open floor plan contemporary without existing duct work and I did not want exposed duct work. Came back with the purported expert to have a second look around and he seemed more knowledgeable but still not very impressed. Never followed up with a fee quote for a system installation after two walk throughs. I stopped at the office and asked them to write up the fee quote and still no follow through. Gave up on them with respect to mini split AC systems and decided it must not be their area of expertise. Glad I did. Two years later I met a local heating and air conditioning contractor that specializes in ductless AC mini split installations. Did a twenty minute walk through examining my existing wiring and floor plan and knew exactly where to mount the heat pump and where to install the ductless AC unit. Followed up with a fixed cost quote for all of the parts and labor the following day including the electrical wiring. Was very patient in answering all of my follow up questions before hiring him. Love the mini split AC system I ended up with and at a very competitive price. Beacon should sub contract to the local contractor I hired whenever they get a mini split inquiry and they should have my contractor do their mini split systems or teach their guys how to do it.

    Very nervous replacing my 61 yr old gas boiler and my hot water heater into a combi system. I have an older home and no big job goes without problems!!!     I WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND! We had a pipe bust and Beacons Emergency Service came to our rescue. They had our heat and water back on within a couple hours. The protective footwear they used during service to keep our floors clean was very professional. Customer service was top notch. Thank you so much.

    We had a sudden Well Pressure Tank failure and called our regular plumber who was unable to fit us in. Beacon had installed a split system AC for us 3 years earlier so they were our next call. I had a good conversation with Randy about what we wanted and he called back with a firm estimate and scheduled us for the next morning. Brian arrived on time and had the old tank out the new tank in and left everything as neat as a pin in just over 2 hours. I think Beacon will be our first call the next time we need a plumber.
