    I recently had a fantastic experience with the Plumbing Dr. at our home in the Mt. Vernon area. They came out to diagnose and replace a faulty thermostatic mixing valve, which was preventing hot water supply to our tub. Our technician Ture was incredibly professional, prompt, knowledgeable, and easy to work with. He explained everything ahead of time and discussed options and charges in advance. He then quickly set to the task of replacing the valve and had everything back up and working in no time. A great experience all around.

    Over the past decade, we have hired The Plumbing Dr several times to repair or replace faucets and toilets, repair pipe leaks, re-route pipes in the wall, etc. Recently, I was overwhelmed when I discovered a severely backed-up toilet and shower drain in our basement bathroom! I called The Plumbing Dr and spoke to Tracy, who was very professional and polite. Their schedule was full for the day, but Tracy was still able to get a crew to my home within a couple of hours. My team was comprised of Doctors Bill, Ture, and Brandon. After assessing the awful situation, Bill clearly explained the problem as a blocked sewer line and offered several options for the repair and clean-up. I did not hesitate to accept their estimate and their services. When they finished a couple of hours later, the pipe was unclogged, and the bathroom and affected areas were clean, sanitized and looked great.“Thank you” to a great trio who were professional, friendly, and efficient.     I called The Plumbing Dr on October 3rd after discovering water leaking through the ceiling of our downstairs bathroom. It was a total crisis moment. I was quickly scheduled for same day service. Harold and Jake arrived earlier than I expected yet called me to alert they were en route. They quickly identified the source of the leak, a small hole in copper tubing that had obviously been there some time. Of course they had to open the ceiling up. But they quickly repaired the leak and referred someone for drywall repair. Harold and Jake were personal, professional and very thorough. I would totally recommend using The Plumbing Dr and especially Harold and Jake. They did an excellent job.

    Dr. Daniel and Dr. Cornelius were able to diagnose and repair a sink faucet leak as well as high water pressure/water heater concerns promptly. They installed a new pressure relief valve (PRV) and included a pressure gauge so I can monitor the water pressure at any time. Given my water heater is over 15 years old, I decided to replace it. They added an expansion tank to the water heater as well as 2 alarms to detect moisture or leaks. They explained various causes and symptoms of plumbing problems and answered all my questions professionally. They were courteous and conducted themselves in a professional manner. I highly recommend The Plumbing Dr and have used them many times over the course of several years. I can’t comment on the quality of the water heater; only time will tell. I registered the product (AO Smith 50 gallon) online and it has a six year warranty.

    From the beginning of the call to the final completed work and follow up, I received excellent service of all work performed. The work was thorough and everything was clean when they were done. I needed drywall work done and they provided the contact information of Phillip Stevenson who was very flexible and completed it in a timely manner.     I encountered a serious plumbing issue over the weekend and was fortunate to have Wendy from the Plumbing Dr assist me. She efficiently coordinated with and dispatched Harald, a skilled plumbing professional, to my condo. Wendys thorough explanation over the phone prepared me for the process and potential problems.Harald came in the morning and conducted a diagnosis and identified the main sewage problem, which required him to shut off the water and remove the toilet. However, the valve associated with the toilet was frozen due to age. Coordination with the management office to access the water main valve for my unit was then needed. Harald, unable to proceed without permission, temporarily left for another job.Once I obtained clearance from the management office and informed Wendy, she promptly reconnected with Harald. He returned later in the evening, addressing issues with my toilet and bathtub and clearing the main pipe obstruction. I am very appreciative that this complex problem was resolved on a Sunday.Harald is an organized, confident, and friendly professional, while Wendy is responsive, thorough, helpful, and organized in her coordination efforts. It is evident that they genuinely want to help me out during this challenging situation on a rainy weekend. I extend my gratitude for their outstanding service and will recommend the Plumbing Dr to anyone in need of plumbing assistance.

    Had a very positive experience with Plumbing Dr. We had a major clog of our kitchen sink that required extensive work (snaking and jetting, and replacing exposed pipes), and the team was very responsive, professional and efficient. Brian and Raaba assessed the situation and helped us navigate and understand our different options. They then executed the agreed upon plan in a timely and professional manner. I couldn’t be more pleased with their work.

    Harold arrived at our house this morning to help us with a kitchen drain issue. The was the first time we used The Plumbing Dr. We were pleased and satisfied with the entire experience.     I recently had an emergency after-hours issue with a malfunctioning sump pump during a heavy rain storm. I called The Plumbing Dr. after 11pm and within 90 mins they had a licensed plumber at my door working to triage and fix the issue. Phillip was very professional and courteous. He did a great job replacing the faulty pump and getting everything up and running in short order. The callout fee was very reasonable (less than $100), as was the overall price to complete the job. Prior to this I hadn’t been a customer of theirs, but they will now be my first call.

    We always get fabulous service. Everyone is courteous, professional, and knowledgeable.For our most recent service call about a toilet which did not refill, Dr. Elbio came when promised and put plastic covers over his shoes before starting work. He explained the issue and costs of repair solutions. I asked about replacing the entire toilet, which I had not mentioned when scheduling the appointment. Dr. E did not seem flustered by my request. He patiently compared the various options until I thoroughly understood my choices. What I found amazing was that he said he could install the new toilet that day, even though I was the last call of the day. What extraordinary service! I wish I could rate him with six stars.

    I was pleasantly surprised to call and was able to get same-day service! Harold was the name of the plumber who came to our home and was very professional and polite. I also received a courtesy call about 15 minutes before he arrived (much appreciated). He discovered a new type of drain stopper in our home he hadnt encountered before.     I called the Plumbing Dr on a Saturday for a leak in my bathroom. They immediately responded and kept me updated on the arrival of the technicians.     DR Harold completed a sanitary waste system renovation for our kitchen and laundry sinks on 2/27/24. This job included power cleaning main lines, flushing and purging fixture lines, and accomplishing performance and safety tests. He arrived on time, expertly performed the work, and cleaned-up each the work areas. Dr. Harold was professional, personable, and outstandingly finished the job in a timely manner.     We were extremely pleased with the Plumbing Dr. service that we had to repair our toilet. We called on a Wednesday afternoon and they were able to do the service by Thursday afternoon. They called approximately a half an hour before they arrived, as they indicated they would do, and promptly assessed the situation and gave us their recommendation on the method of repair and the cost of the repair. The work was done quickly, and professionally. We were given a thirty-day warranty on the work which is standard. The two service men were polite, respectful of our home, and performed all the work in a neat manner. We have used the Plumbing Dr. before and will continue to do so as our needs arise.

    Installation of Water Filter. Being in my 70s, and having owned a number of different homes and condos, I have had dealings with many different home service providers. This is why I can honestly say that the service from The Plumbing Doctor is as good as I have received over the years. Totally professional, efficient and reasonably priced. Doctor Bill and his support staff were a pleasure to deal with. In fact, we had a question about the installation of an undersink water filter, that was bought and installed through them. Dr. Bill came by the house to answer our questions in person. I wish all of my dealings with various service providers were as satisfying and rewarding as we experienced with The Plumbing Doctor.

    Fantastic service! I’d recommend this company to anyone in the Falls Church area. I’ve used The Plumbing Dr twice and both times, the technicians were prompt, polite, and patient in explaining my issue and options for resolution.For my most recent experience, I called asked for assistance with a backed up floor drain (gross). I called at about 12:30pm on a Friday; Brian and Lloyd arrived around 2pm. Brian was thorough in his evaluation and explanation of my likely issue, while also clearly explaining the repair/clearing options. I felt totally comfortable with his level of expertise and recommendations. They had to bring out a different piece of equipment clear the drain and diagnose the issue; our issue was resolved by 7:30 pm that evening.     Excellent work removing a defective kitchen faucet at my moms home and replacing with a new one. Dr. Harold and Dr. Joe worked tirelessly to remove the old and heavily rusted faucet connection. They were professional and competent. They kept me informed during the whole process; gave me options for the new faucet (with no pressure) and were very friendly.     Dr. Brandon and Dr. Joe were amazing. This job was supposed to be unclogging a bathtub drain, an easy fix. It wasnt! It turned into an all day job. They arrived at 8:00 am and didnt leave until 7:00 pm. They worked all day to find out what caused the problem and then how to fix it. When they discovered there was a blockage way farther into the drain than they realized. By the end of the day they had not only the tub drain working but took care of the other issues that arose. Brandon and Joe were patient, professional and informed me every step of the way. There were no surprises and everything is working perfectly. I highly reccommend the Plumbing Doctors! These are my new plumbing go to guys!

    Update: 09-09-2021The Plumbing Dr. is still the best around - We had Dr. Daniel tackle a pretty big job on sink and PRV value and the work was fast and excellent. These guys explain everything their doing and why then give you multiple cost options. We thought initially it was a leaking shower line that was going to cost a ton to repair. We had Liam from The Plumber Doctor come and happily he found it wasnt the shower line but a poorly installed dish washer Home Depot installed a few weeks earlier. Liam was on time, friendly, and explained everything he was going to do before so we could decide next steps. He was really knowledgeable about the materials used in our 1960s home and cleaned up after finding the leak. The reviews for Plumber Doctor are spot on! Highly recommend them.

    The Plumbing Dr has a good business model. It is good for the company and fair for the customer. Dr. Charlie arrived and asked for any symptoms prior to the loss of hot water. He analyzed the input and diagnosed the problem. He pulled out his tablet, explained what was wrong and provided options and costs for each. After I decided what was to be done, he estimated the time required to do the works and went to his truck to get the required repair parts. The repair was made within the estimated time and the work area was kept clean throughout the entire repair process.     The Plumbing Doctor is hands down the best plumbing service we have had in 35 years of home ownership. Most recently, we had Dr. Charlie out to repair a broken pipe feeding an outside tap. He did the work efficiently and cleanly, identified and fixed another problem that would have caused a flood if not addressed, and gave us several points of free advice to avoid problems in the future in other parts of the house. Just a great guy and a real expert! We’ve previously had Dr. Brandon, who provided similar quality service. These guys are terrific!

    Best service in all categories that I received this year! After several attempts myself to clear a couple of clogged drains in my home, I decided it was plumber time. I called The Plumbing Dr this morning and the company was able to send a plumber over right away for a no obligation price quote. Other companies needed a day or two and up to a 5-hour window before a plumber could be scheduled. Matt arrived promptly, assessed the situation and showed me the book prices. (They were a tad lower than the standard hefty fees plumbing companies typically charge for drain cleaning.) Dr. Matt was great. Not only did he quickly get the job done well, he cleaned the working area (a first) and gave me a boatload of tips to keep my drains clear. He used protective sheeting and tape on the sink to avoid scratches. He answered all of my questions clearly and provided the details and the heres why that I love. Extraordinary service. Highly recommend this company!

    We had a fantastic experience with Daniel and Jake. They were here for the better part of the day working on the shower drainage/pipes in the basement.     Clogged kitchen sink. Tried chemicals and plunging but nothing worked. The Plumbing Dr. was able to send someone out the same day. Elbio arrived and immediately got to work. Being a 50 year old building, there were lots of quirks and surprises. He was able to address each (broken vent pipe, a too-high outgoing drain (from a previous kitchen reno), a piece of scrap PVC in the pipe). He is my go-to plumber from now on! Call The Plumbing Dr!!

    I had two toilets that would not stop running for months. I finally called the Plumbing Dr. The scheduled the appointment to fit my schedule and were extremely polite on the phone.The day of the appointment they were able to have someone come out within the time frame they said.     Dr. Brandon came out today along with Dr. Harold to take care of a leak. They called to let us know what time they would arrive. They were prompt, courteous, and respectful.     My wife and I are repeat customers with The Plumbing Dr and cant ever see ourselves using any other company for our plumbing needs. We recently needed our kitchen faucet, tub faucet knobs/stems, and a toilet replaced. Charlie and Marlin arrived on time and even called to let us know that they were on their way. Upon arrival, Charlie and Marlin the time to cover their feet prior to entering our home and were both extremely friendly. I went over the issues I wanted taken care of and they both went to work and provided several options for each issue, never once trying to upsell us. We felt Charlie and Marlin were upfront and honest with their assessments and we were extremely happy with the price quoted to us. Upon completion of the work, Charlie and Marlin left their workspace better than they found it and my wife and I were very impressed with their professionalism and kindness.     Charlie and his assistant arrived right on time and quickly assessed my plumbing problem. He explained the problem to me, described what he needed to do, the probable time required, and the cost.Then Charlie went right to work and completed the job in even less time than he had anticipated.     We had a collapsed line under the slab in our basement. We worked with Mike L with the Plumbing Dr who we found to be friendly, professional and very capable. The original estimate was very reasonable. Unfortunately, when we broke up the concrete floor we found the damage was more extensive than originally anticipated requiring the removal of a larger area of concrete at a higher cost. Almost all of the pipes in our laundry room were replaced instead of just one small area. A camera inspection found the rest of the line was blocked with grease so we had a hydrojetting procedure added to the bill too. The final tally was double the original estimate. I dont think it was unreasonable for the amount of work done over two days, but it sure was expensive. We feel confident in the quality of the work however and would recommend the Plumbing Dr to anyone facing a major repair. We hope to never have to think about our drainage line again!

    I called The Plumbing Dr based on recommendation of a neighborhood group and so glad I did. My kitchen sink drain was clogged and the clog was well beyond the trap. They were able to send our Mike L to me that afternoon sooner than I had expected. He was professional, followed COVID protocols and was careful to lay out paper drop cloths in my cabinet. He gave me advice on some products I already owned that would help in maintaining my drain clear. He was super knowledgeable, he patiently answered my husbands questions and he kindly acknowledged my inquisitive 3 year olds interactions of having a visitor in the house.     Dr Charlie & Dr Lloyd were fantastic. They were professional, polite and took the time to explain what was needed and what was not needed. They inspected pipes that were identified as potentially damaged lines and they were honest and explained that the corrosion seen was not from leaks but lazy builder workmanship of not cleaning up after installing the pipes initially.     First, the Plumbing Dr. responded quickly in the evening for an emergency, and put in a temporary fix. Then they evaluated the larger problem and returned to install a new water heater, replacing shoddy work that a previous plumber had done.     We had a badly clogged outdoor drain that would have flooded our basement with the next storm. We called the Plumbing Doctor around 1 pm and they were there by 3:30 pm. The Plumber, Dr Brian , was excellent and very pleasant. The drain was badly plugged up with gravel and dirt -- not something that is easy to unclog - - but he had it fixed in about 40 minutes.     Weve had great service from The Plumbing Dr in the past, so we turned to them again twice with recent issues.First, a few months ago we were having some persistent trouble with a toilet that we couldnt solve ourselves. Dr. Daniel came out and diagnosed the problem as something completely different from what we suspected. He ended up having to do some unpleasant work to solve it, and did so without a complaint and had it working again in short order.Second, more recently we were having water hammer noise from our pipes and some seriously low water pressure. We narrowed the problem down to a faulty PRV. Dr. Charlie not only confirmed that problem but identified several other issues as well. As always, The Plumbing Dr gave us several options at different price levels (i.e., only fixing what was urgent vs fixing everything at once). We opted to take care of everything together. One of our problems was a non-functioning water main shutoff valve, which required calling out Fairfax Water to shut off our water from the street. Dr. Charlie was super helpful in advising us on how to get Fairfax Water (who can be difficult to deal with) to show up. Turned out Ffx Water had to come back out and fix something to even be able to turn off our water! The Plumbing Dr was great about getting Dr. Charlie rescheduled with us to finish the job once Ffx Water solved the issues on their end.Very pleased as always with The Plumbing Dr, and we will definitely call them again whenever we have a plumbing problem. (Not for a long while, we hope!)

    I called The Plumbing Doctor to fix two leaking sink faucets in our master bathroom. Dr. Dave came and did a very professional job. The work required ordering several replacement parts, because the valve cartridges couldnt be separated from their valve bodies (that is why I called a plumber in the first place) and because in two cases Kohler sent the wrong parts.     We called due to an emergency situation with our (only) shower drain. We had never used this company before and were able to get an appointment the very next morning without having to pay an emergency fee. Jason called 15 minutes before he arrived, around 9am, and fully explained everything to me before starting his work. He estimated that it would take him about 2 hours to complete the job and he fell right within that time frame. He was friendly and professional the whole time. The best part was the he never once tried to upsell me. He clearly laid out all of my options and when I didnt pick the top tier, there was no arguing, no fuss, he simply clarified what I was selecting and got started on the work. At the end of the job, I asked if there was anything we could do to help prevent this from happening in the future and he suggested a product to me, but I never felt pressured to buy it.     Daniel provided the utmost superior customer service and by far the most educated and professional technician I had come out here. I wasted my time with several companies that did not even measure the water heater when they arrived.     Ive used the P Docs before, but this time they had to come to my place because my neighbor above me had problems with his bathroom sink drain, and needed access through my ceiling to get to the pipes. I live in the Arlington Condomiums and our property is old, but they were able to get through that tough drywall and grated plaster ceiling.     I got a non-emergency appointment quickly; the plumber arrived on time and resolved both my relatively minor (dripping faucet, failed toilet flapper) quickly and effectively.The charge was in line with other plumbers charges.I was completely satisfied with the service.My only issue is that they gave me a four-hour window for waiting for the plumber to arrive. On that particular day, taking four hours out of my life to wait on a repair person (he arrived 3 hours and 15 minutes into the four-hour window) was something I could handle. Most days a four-hour window is not something I can easily manage.Other than the long window for the plumber to arrive, I was very happy with The Plumbing Dr. I will try them again, should the need arise. If they cant do better than a four-hour window, Ill look for another plumber. But I hope that we would be able to work something out.
