    We recently completed an ADU project with Josh, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The project took 9 months and stayed on time and on budget, which is no small feat in today’s market. Josh was excellent to work with—he provided clear guidance when we had to make budget-conscious decisions, helping us get the best value without sacrificing quality.One of the biggest advantages of working with Josh was his ability to navigate the complex city inspection process, which can be overwhelming.     My wife, my daughter and I hired Empirical Construction after interviewing several contractors in the Denver area. I am a stickler for reading each and every review I can find. From the moment we met Josh we were impressed with the way he “got” what we were trying to accomplish with the project. He came up with creative solutions to the problems we presented to him.One challenge was that we would be out of town for the bulk of the renovations and we needed someone who could do the work and not need too much hand holding from us.We also wanted to work with a designer to help with the overall look of the project and needed a contractor who could work with our designer.We awarded the contract to Empirical and we were thrilled with the results. Our project entailed a complete bathroom and kitchen remodel, hardwood flooring installation and refinishing. Because the house was built in the 1950’s the plumbing and electrical also required extensive upgrades. Empirical did everything by the book and pulled permits and helped us contract for testing for lead. By the book often means more money and time but it also means having a job done right. Empirical did our job right.Chuck was our project manager and he did an outstanding job working with us. He checked in with us weekly to do a video call to update us.Chuck is a problem solver and he was very easy to work with. He is first rate and I think Empirical is lucky to have him working for them.We would not hesitate to use Empirical again if the need arises.

    Empirical Construction is a fantastic company that does quality work. Josh is easy to communicate with, knowledgeable, and more than helpful when discussing design options. There were no surprises with the cost and the job ended on time. Cant really ask for more than that! I will absolutely use them again!

    We had the best experience with Empirical Construction! We first worked with Josh and his team to repair a plumbing issue under our kitchen sink. We were so pleased with the service we received, we asked Josh to complete a remodel project to free up space in our house. He built out a hallway closet for us to move our washer and dryer into. He was very aware of our need for space and gave us many great ideas for the remodel. We were amazed with the quick turnaround and greatly appreciated the attention to the budget. You will not be disappointed working with Empirical Construction.

    This was our first large-scale home improvement project and we love the results. We did a full basement remodel and it looks awesome! Josh was great to work with, responsive, on budget, and even finished the project early! He was trustworthy and honest which was very important to us. Josh is also very knowledgeable about Denver city codes and permitting and handled the entire process seamlessly. When we found a leak in our foundation, he went above and beyond to find someone to remedy the situation while continuing to push the project forward. I would definitely recommend Josh and Empirical.

    All I can say is WOW! My wife and I have had many remodeling projects in 3 homes over the last 15 years; Empirical Construction towers above any and all help weve ever hired. Not only was the finished project (we had a complete kitchen remodel, including the removal of a load bearing wall) immaculate, but the entire project from start to finish went smoother than we could have ever expected. We are so happy and so grateful that we choose Josh and his amazing project manager, Chuck, to work with us. On top of impeccable quality work, the price quote was the best of several quotes we received AND they did not go over our quote--no surprise increases! You will be very happy working with Empirical Construction; I cant recommend them enough!

    Honest, trustworthy and hardworking General ContractorWe have had a wonderful experience with Josh from Empirical Construction over the past 6 months of our very large gut job construction project of our home. He was physically at our house every day and oversaw every last detail of the job. His quality standards are high and he is very detail oriented which we appreciated. We have a historic home and wished to maximize form and function for our family while also maintaining historic charm and character. Josh was helpful in this process and helped us find solutions, such as a hardwood that would match the original flooring, that we are very happy with. We were very happy with all of the subcontractors that he works with as well. Perhaps most importantly, we finished ON TIME and ON BUDGET. Who can say that about a massive renovation project?? The only overages/delays we had were due to us (the owners) expanding the scope, and a couple of unforeseen structural issues from our very old (1903) house. Otherwise, the original budget and project schedule tied back. Each time we encountered unforeseen issues (e.g. structural floorboards that had been cut), Josh was very up front with us in explaining the issue and all of our potential solutions, with cost and timing implications. We were able to come to some happy medium solutions where we didnt completely blow our budget but also ensured our house was safe and done right. We would not hesitate to recommend or use Empirical Construction again, and likely plan to for a major kitchen reno in a few years.

    We called Josh at Empirical Construction after a horrible experience with a different contracting company left our 1905 Victorian home in disarray. We decided to take over the job ourselves, however needed some expert opinion to help guide us through permitting and building. Josh jumped right into our job without hesitation. This is saying a lot given the state of our home at the time! Josh was willing to write up a consulting contract for us and we called him when we had questions that were holding up our job. He came over and did walk-throughs with us (often on the same day we called for help). He was thorough in his recommendations, helping guide us through the process. Josh was very knowledable and pointed out things we would have never thought about. Hes also very personable and listens to what the home owner wants. Im happy to say we are back home now and our renovations turned out beautifully! This could not have happened without Joshs help. I only wish we would have hired him from the start! We would highly recommend him to anyone thats looking to remodel or renovate. Thanks so much for all your help Josh!!!

    I shopped around for a quote on a kitchen and master bathroom remodel. I picked Josh because of his responsiveness and I liked that his quote included architectural drawings so I could envision what we discussed. He spent the most time on a quote for a project he was not guaranteed to win, so thats what drew me in. He was also super nice and patient so that helped too :).Ill be honest- the process started off a little bit rocky and we had a roller coaster ride throughout the project but none of it was a major problem or anything. Most were minor things due to simple miscommunication. I believe this type of stuff happens with any contractor you go with on any type of construction process.Our project manager, Chuck, was fantastic. He was extremely responsive and has a really big heart. He was extremely patient with us, never said no, never made us feel bad for asking him to do anything (even the tiniest little request), and most of all, he cared so much about doing whatever it took to make us happy. He worked his butt off to get every tiny detail the way we wanted it to be. He also loves dogs so we loved watching him interact with our pup. I cant say enough about how hard Chuck worked to make us happy. He is super down to earth and overall just a fantastic person to know- just a really good guy. He also has a super cute kid. ;)Fast forward to the end- Chuck, Josh, and their team did an absolutely fantastic job making our dream kitchen and bathroom come true. The results are just stunning. I look forward to getting ready in the bathroom and spending time in the kitchen now because everything is just so gosh darn beautiful! I have attached my pictures to my review, please take a look at what a great job they did! They were also on time and within the agreed upon budget.I highly recommend working with Josh and Chuck.     We had Empirical Construction renovate our kitchen and living area. We are thrilled with the results! All of the contractors working on this project were professional and courteous. Empirical Construction kept to the original schedule in light of some structural setbacks. We highly recommend Empirical Construction and will use them for any future projects.

    Cant say enough about the experience we had with Empirical Construction and their amazing team. Josh was incredibly responsive and quoted us fairly and quickly on our kitchen remodel and communicated our timeline throughout the process.What puts Empirical over the top was working with Chuck as our project manager. Chuck communicated any decisions and changes throughout the process and continually listened to our desires for the remodel. We really appreciated his tact and suggestions when we hit any snags in the planning process and we couldnt be happier with how the project turned out.

    We hired Empirical to finish our basement over the summer and they did a fantastic job! I interviewed several contractors and Josh was the most professional that I spoke with. He came prepared with lots of information and documentation at our initial meeting. He was very quick to respond and he had an idea for the layout that no one else had thought of.Once things got rolling our project manager was Chuck and I cant speak highly enough of him. He and his team were very professional and everything was completed to our expectations and in some cases beyond. Chuck did a great job of always checking to make sure things were done the right way and if he thought it wasnt good enough he made sure it got done to his standards. He is without a doubt the best contractor Ive ever worked with.As far as budget and timeline goes the only things that went over budget were things that we decided to change or upgrade. The timeline also went as expected. Before they even started they gave us an estimate but also told to expect some delays. We expected it to be done by the end of the summer and it was. I would most definitely recommend Empirical Construction for any project and if we need any work done in the future Ill be giving them a call.
