    Lyons Plumbing is the best plumbing company I have ever used. I only wish that I had found them sooner. I had a clogged drain in my basement on Labor Day. Dan was imediately responsive and an excellent communicator. He was able to correctly diagnose my problem, even before they arrived. Steven and his helper arrived promptly at the scheduled time I was given. The repair was made efficiently (thoroughly, and at the same time, promptly) Steven went above and beyond with his help and answering my questions. I cannot say enough good about this company and they will always be my go to in the future. I highly recommend them and will continue to refer all plumbing problems to this professional and trustworthy company. Thank you Lyons Plumbing!

    Cannot say enough about how honest, responsive and supportive they were in meeting our needs. Had a an L shaped pipe leak due to pinhole caused by corrosion at the joint; called a 10+ vendors most of which could not come out for days. Put in a request directly on Yelp and Dan answered within minutes, had multiple phone calls to diagnose the issue, and sent out one of his most seasoned professionals Mark. Mark fixed the issue quickly and was able to maneuver his press into a tight area rather than cutting drywall as other contractors had suggested. Pricing was not the cheapest but more than fair given overall experience and some of the inflated prices quoted by other firms. Highly recommend for any complex and urgent job !

    I called many different companies who were all personal recommendations from separate friends. Dan was the only one out of all the calls who took the time to ask me specific questions about the brand and type of item that needed to be fixed and made sure I didn’t just need to switch a battery or flip a switch before sending out a technician and having to charge me for something very simple. Which I appreciate because that has happened to me. Anyway- because of that and being the only ones to fit me in next day, they were already the clear winners of my business. When Mark came to assess the problem, he figured it out, did the work quickly and cleanly, and advised us on all the next steps. We Feel very lucky to know who to call next time we have a plumbing issue - without hesitation!

    Not the cheapest, but there is no one else I trust with an emergency or a thorny issue. We recently found water damage which Mark came to diagnose - a contractor we later spoke to about repairs commented on what a neat job they had done and asked me who did the work. Since then, we have made repairs to our 20-year-old boiler which has been finicky ever since - Dan and Mark have been committed to making it right. Its clear that they value their customers and dont hesitate to go above and beyond. They are the most responsive Ive ever dealt with and always treat us fairly. Im a customer for life!

    I had a leaking shower head, and my shut off valve to the house was not working… and leaking. I was in a bad spot, and requested an emergency stop. Dan walked me through on the phone what may mitigate the leaking shut off valve so that at least it would not cause issues while waiting. This was top tier customer service.Before the end of the day, a plumber was out who was able to quickly explain what he was doing and give prices.I will definitely be going with Lyons for future work.

    We had a really good experience with Lyons Plumbing! Mark fixed an imminent issue with our shower, and also addressed an underlying problem with the water pressure, about which a previous plumber had told us nothing could be done. He diagnosed the problem immediately, and the work was done within a week. He also cleared our slow drain as a courtesy, so the shower is in full working order! We are very grateful.

    We had a pipe spring a leak that went through three floors of our house. Lyons was quick to pick up the phone and send someone same day! Mark did the plumbing work and was excellent to work with. They were great at communicating through the whole process, and Mark did a great job and was very respectful of our home. I couldn’t recommend them more, and they’ve made a customer for life!

    My family has been using Lyons & Sons Plumbing since the 1970s. They have always been reliable, offered fair rates on their work, and friendly. Just this week, I had a number of plumbing repairs that needed to be done in my home, including diagnosing a leak in my master bath shower. I was surprised that they were able to schedule an appointment for the next day (most contractors are so busy these days). They arrived within the time frame given, and Mark was very thorough in the work he did. He needed to purchase a couple parts to finish the repairs, and was able to come out the following day, again, within the time frame given, and finish the repairs. I am 100% pleased with their work - even after 50+ years!

    We hired Lyons Plumbing to have our whole house re-piped (we had polybutylene pipes). Dan Lyons and his team were very professional and responsive during the entire process. They were able to come over on Saturday to give us a quote (we also reached out to other companies and they all need to wait til Monday to come over and provide a quote). The work quality is very good. The plumbers are very friendly. We’re happy that we find Lyons Plumbing and will definitely use them again if we have other plumbing issues in the future.

    They were wonderful and went above and beyond. We called them on a Friday night when we lost hot water; they were there by 9 am the next morning and done by 10 am. Im sold on the quality of their work and their commitment to getting the job done right. Dont often meet people these days who will follow through with their promises.     Lyons plumbing was great! First of all they were very responsive in getting back to me which was not the case with many other plumbers. We purchased a new house with a complicated double shower install that was leaking. The parts were not easy to find so Mark did the research to make sure we found the right parts and they did a great job fixing what was an incorrect installation causing the leak. We finally had a good nights sleep not listening to a leak and the work was done very well. Mark is a very knowledgeable plumber and we plan to use them for some future work.

We had done research with Washington Checkbook and Lyons Plumbing stood out for their quality of work and price, as well as the high number of exceptional reviews. We believe in supporting family businesses, so we gave them a call. From that first encounter with Stephen Lyons and his family, our personal experiences over the years; from clogged drains, to a replaced water heater, to pipe leaks, have only reinforced our impressions with their honesty, dedication and warranted service.     Lyon’s Plumbing was quick and efficient! I called them less than 24 hours ago because my main water line valves were completely stuck. Mark showed up, had one of the valves loose in no time and discovered that the other valve didn’t actually work. All costs were upfront and fair, so we had them replace the non-functioning valve. Install went smoothly and I can now turn the water off and on to my house again. They absolutely have earned all of my future business.

    Can’t say enough good things about Lyons Plumbing! We just bought a house in Hyattsville, and immediately had a problem with our basement bathroom. The first company we called came out, charged us $2900 for an escalating series of “fixes,“ and failed to fix the problem. Not only that, but they wanted $5300 to dig up our yard in yet another fix attempt!We decided to get a second opinion, and thank God we did. We reached out to Lyons through Yelp and were soon on the phone with Dan Lyons, the owner. He was good-humored and knowledgable, he took the time to understand our problem, and we were immediately at ease. Next morning, he sent out Kevin & Brad, who *actually* fixed the issue for just $500. Kevin thought there was an issue with our sewage ejection pump, so Dan sent out another employee the next day—but it turns out there wasn’t a problem, and they didn’t charge us for the visit.Lyons Plumbing turned our nightmare plumbing issue into a nothingburger. Everyone we dealt with was knowledgeable, friendly, and honest. I wish we’d called Lyons Plumbing first! Lesson learned. Next time, we definitely will.

    Will never call another plumber again--Lyons Plumbing is our plumber. Ordered a dishwasher from Lowes and went through nothing but hassles with them, and their contracted installers. Brought in another, bigger, plumbing company who wanted to charge me $1,000 to install a $600 dishwasher. Called up Lyons following a recommendation from a neighbor and so glad that I did. They were not only friendly and courteous, but they got someone out to install the dishwasher within a day.....and at less than a third the cost of my previous quote. Family owned small business who does great work and will be getting all of my business moving forward. 10/10 would recommend.

    Had a super experience with Lyons. We had a messy stack drain pipe issue. They came promptly and replaced the pipe at a reasonable price. Then the next day we noticed a leak in the pipe above and they came back within 2 hours. Replaced that pipe and did an excellent job. Dan Lyons is now running the business and he is very responsive and cooperative. Mark is an excellent plumber.

    Realized my kitchen faucet had a leak when I went under the cabinet. Water running free and your house don’t mix well! I did my standard operation of putting out word to 4-5 well-reviewed plumbers to see what I could get. Lyons Plumbing got back to me quickly. Dan Lyons got on the phone and we talked through the issue. He’s the owner – not an office scheduler – so an immediate, productive conversation (unlike with a lot of the big companies). Sent a couple pictures and a description of what was going on, then was able to have a faucet ready to install for his guy. Plumber arrived right within his two-hour time window and knocked it out quickly and professionally. Saved a couple hundred dollars over another estimate I received. Update Note: My new, Moen faucet had a manufacturing defect – another small leak! Even though it wasn’t really their issue, I reached back out to Lyons Plumbing. He had one of his guys stop by a couple days later for a re-install… no charge. Thats not how you make money as a plumbing company in the short term, but it is definitely how you get satisfied customers and repeat business!

Lyons came out the same day and repaired the issues at less than 1/2 the price, and finished the job in under an hour. They were respectful, professional, and efficient.     Had catastrophic failure of 66 gallon kenmore water heater yesterday afternoon. Luckily both daughter and I were teleworking. She was in basement and heard rushing water. called me down and water had already filled laundry room and was gushing from electric access panel. Called Lyons because of great job they did on prior occasion. even though it was evening they took call and arranged to get back to me first thing in morning with details. As promised they had all the info about range of models and prices, and scheduled installation that afternoon. Total price including installation and haul away was remarkably reasonable given retail cost of water heater. Both Dan and Mark were extremely knowledgeable, personable, and responsive. Cannot wait to run dishwasher and take shower. thanks again for incredible responsiveness. This is definitely my go to plumber from here on out.

    Found Lyons Plumbing online and called them went my hot water heater stopped working. They quickly came out the next morning and replaced it the following day. Dan went above and beyond to do research to find the perfect fit replacement to eliminate some possible extra costs with the venting.     First, I use checkbook.org to find all of the contractors that I use at my home. S Lyons Plumbing was in checkbook.org and had great reviews. I called on a Monday and spoke to Dan. Dan took the time and actually spoke to me about my issue and we talked about possible solutions. He scheduled Mark to come out Wednesday morning.Wednesday morning, Mark showed up on time. He took allCovid precautions and we spoke about the issue I was having with my water. We talked about what his plan was and he flushed out my hot water system and also inspected my water softener. Mark/Dans solution worked and he was able to remove the smell from my water. Mark was professional, on-time and communicated effectively about the problem. I should also mention that I was contemplating replacing both toilets in my house. I talked to Mark about the toilet I picked out and he gave me the pros and cons of that particular toilet and also made a recommendation for a different brand.I had such a good experience that I called Dan to pay the bill for the water heater and hired them to replace my two toilets. Again, Dan scheduled Mark for Friday.Friday morning Mark called and gave me a 15 minutes heads up. He showed up and again performed the work flawlessly. Mark cleaned up and gave me all of the information regarding the new toilets. If you want a professional experience with good communication and a personable tech (Mark) then I would give S. Lyons plumbing a call. They will be my plumbing contractor here on out as long as Im in this home. Thanks S Lyons for the professional service.

    Had a major leak under a kitchen sink around 10 this morning. Spoke with Lyons (Dan) right away and they sent a very nice and capable man, Mark, out at about 2 p.m. A part was needed, but in the interim he manufactured a plug so we could continue to use our kitchen sink and dishwasher. At our request, he is going to order and completely replace a water sprayer within a week or so. Very impressed!

    Moved in to a new house and discovered the toilet was wobbly and leaking within the first day or so. Actually posted a plumbing request on Yelp to another plumbing service, but Lyons responded first, and after checking their reviews decided to go with them.     We noticed that a leaky faucet in an upstairs tub was leading to watermarks on our kitchen ceiling and were able to guess there was an issue with the cartridge in the faucet. After watching a few YouTube videos about DIY cartridge replacement, had a gut feeling I should reach out to a professional. Made a request on Sunday and had Mark out to take a look at the issue Tuesday morning. It turned out to be a great call as the cartridge, which mightve never been replaced before, broke off when trying to pull it out. Luckily, Mark was unphased and went above and beyond to clear it out and get the cartridge replaced, leaving everything better than when we got the house, in under an hour. Hopefully we wont be needing any plumbing services again anytime soon, but if we do Lyons Plumbing will absolutely be our firsts call.

    Our townhouse came with significant plumbing issues. When our water heater started leaking from the bottom, Dan was incredibly responsive and helpful, and offered a very fair price for replacement.     Great group of guys. Well pump went out at 8pm so we called and he answered the phone promptly and was out here the very next day to replace well pump.     Excellent and fast service. Took the time to diagnose the problem and made recommendations. Used them to fix a toilet, unclog a sink and shower drain, and fix a sink faucet. Turned out the faucet and pipes wre old and needed replacing. They did an excellent job doing so and now the bathroom works great! Will definitely use again.

    Reached out to Lyons Plumbing for a second opinion for a leak from our ceiling anytime we would shower. I called and spoke to Dan who scheduled Mark to come take a look within 48 hrs. Once Mark arrived, he was able to find the problem in minutes, showed me exactly what the problem was, and what was causing the leak. Mark was able to fix the problem within 30mins, for a VERY reasonable price. I am very happy with Lyons Plumbing and glad we went for a second opinion. We were able to save $2,500 the first company was trying to charge us for something that wouldnt even fix the problem. We will be calling back if we are to have any Plumbing issues in the future.
