My experience with Able Heating and Air has been exceptional across their entire operation. The sales engineer and project manager listened to my requirements and tailored the solution to my needs. This is a big job with multiple phases zones, air handlers and head units and the installation team has done an outstanding job of removing old systems and ductwork and routing the new mini split systems to improve efficiency, while reducing the outside and inside mechanical footprint as well as improving comfort and air quality. They were always showed up on time and worked very neatly. They kept me informed on their plans for installation and the days work. The quality assurance team checked out the installation team’s work and made a few tweaks needed which were entirely expected in a job this big in a house with multiple additions in it’s structure and distributed systems over thirty years. Able is a great family owned and veteran owned company that you can depend on for quality services, state of the art products and great value. I will use them again whenever I need an upgrade or service.

Giving 5 stars for customer service!! Called for the first time hearing that Able is the best around. Our downstairs unit wasn’t blowing hot air and the representative, Amber, could not have been nicer and more helpful. She was clear about all of the options and even offered over the phone troubleshooting which actually took care of the problem. Will be scheduling a general service call in the next week or so and also will be asking them about best options to replace our upstairs unit. I have no doubt that they will do us right and prepare us properly for then upcoming winter!

Greg came to inspect my ancient oil furnace and it was obvious from the start that he knows his business well. After looking at, and figuring out, the years of add ons and weird workarounds, others did in the past, he came up with a clear plan on how best to fix it, and some optional additional work, if I wanted to improve it. No pressure sales nonsense, no head scratching and well we can try xyz; Just a solution and a clear explanation of the work. I couldnt be more pleased with Able Heating & Air. I value competence and professionalism as a rare commodity these days. They have earned my business going forward. I recommend them without reservation.

Able Heating & Air provides high quality HVAC services. We’ve struggled with heating and air conditioning issues since building our house 20 years ago. We’ve tried several HVAC contractors in the past and finally called Able on the advice of a good friend. Their technicians took the time to explain the issues (original HVAC system was poorly designed and didn’t fit the requirements of our house) and provided multiple options at different prices. Both their technician and customer service teams are professionally trained and very knowledgeable - I highly recommend them!

Able Heating and Air has been servicing my units for years now and I always have such a positive experience with the scheduling people in the office and the techs that come out. They started this thing when they tech is on their way, they send you a little narrative about them: who they are, what they like about their job, who they admire most, a foundation close to their heart and a fun fact. Its nice becuase you see their picture, you know who they are and it personalizes the stranger (or not, in my case because Ive been with them for years) before they show up to run in and out and up and down to check your systems. I dont know why its such a big deal but its just another one of those little things that this family owned small business does that really stands out. Its nice to see that they care about who their people are and they want you to know who they are, too. Big, positive culture for a small, local business that stands out above the rest.

** Update **We needed Able Heating and Air once again! Their team is wonderful, honest, and very helpful. Amy is always so kind and wonderful on the phone. Brain our technician was great! I strongly recommend Able.Our A/C went out on a Sunday but my husband was thinking it was the fan and he could fix it. Well it was not the fan. My Mom recommended Able to me. I called them Monday mid afternoon they called me back right away and were at our house Tuesday morning!! Everyone was so kind and professional! The two gentlemen that came Tuesday morning were wonderful!! The technicians figured out the problem and had everything in the van to do the repairs on our A/C which was huge! We didnt have to wait for something to come in. Our A/C was working in less than a few hours. I felt very comfortable working with everyone. They are now in my phone directory if we need anything else. I definitely recommend Able Heating and Air.

Called Able on the hottest day of the year, (on a weekend no less as well). Had a technician, Matt, out to us within an hour who quickly diagnosed and repaired our issue. Typically, customers who need service on a weekend will, understandibly, incur an overtime charge on their service call. During my interaction with Matt I learned that the company owner had waived the overtime charges to his customers this particular weekend due to the heat emergency, yet his techs were still being paid their overtime rate. This speaks volumes to me about the kind of business owner Greg Venables is and why he has our business. Thank you Able Heating & Air!

Our AC was shutting down unexpectedly twice in two days. After a couple hours, it would come back. After the second time, we called for some to check the system. By the time the tech arrived, the system was running again! He arrived, diagnosed the problem, found a float the had deactivated the system, cleaned the blocked condensate line and was done in less than an hour. We love Able and recommend them to everyone!

Best HVAC company in Culpeper/N.Va area. Ive used all the others, rejected one at a time. Able has taken care of my oil-fired boiler for heat & my AC system for cooling. They suggest improvements, & offer, with no pressure.They upgraded my entire hot water heater & home heating by installing an instant-on propane-fired dual use tankless hot water system. Love it, quiet, efficient, cost effective. They improved my ac ducting to more efficiently distribute the cold air & even out house temps, to reduce rooms too hot or too cold. They offer seasonal preventive maintenance visits so you dont have things go down at inconvenient times & have emergencies. Better to maintain than wait til your AC fails in August, or your heat in January. Honest, knowledgeable, professional, friendly, everyone, from the owner, office staff, & service techs. The tech they send out will know what they need to know or call back & involve someone who knows it better. Not cheapest, but you get the quality service & parts your paying for!

I called around 6pm because my ac was not working, and spoke to a representative who told me he would pass along the info and I’d get a call back in the morning. Understandable since it was after business hours. However I received a call back only 30 minutes later from the owner, Greg, who said he’d come by now and showed up by around 7pm. He quickly diagnosed the issue and fixed it on the spot, for a reasonable fee. He spent a lot of time talking to me and explaining the different components and issues to me, which was very helpful to understand what was going on and what was needed. After I agreed to the charge my ac was up and running within minutes and I have had no issues since! My family has been using this company for 8+ years, and if you live in the Culpeper area this is who I recommend for any of your AC needs!

The visit for diagnostics to determine if I had a problem with one of the heat pumps. I was definitely pleased with the response time, obtaining an appointment within 2 days is impressive, especially during a time when we are having an extremely cold wave.My concern was it appeared the system was not heating efficiently. The technician was on time, very professional, efficient, and courteous. Luckily, no major problems, but he did make recommendations that would be beneficial to avoid future costly repairs and also bi-annual maintenance. I’m very pleased with the quality of work and the professional manner Riley presented. He explained everything thoroughly and answered all questions to my satisfaction. I have used Able Heating & AC once previously and was very satisfied. I have complete confidence that this is a quality business and did agree to the bi-annual maintenance. Our long-time HVAC service company failed us when the zone control panel, that they installed, started malfunctioning. They wouldnt fix nor did they offer to and our hone warranty technician couldnt fix because it wasnt covered. We call Able on Sunday morning, and they cams out Monday afternoon. After 2 weeks of no AC, Able hooked us up in less than two hours. Mike, the technician, was amazing and shared information and pictures on our system. I am always impressed with the service I receive from Able heating and Air. They are always on time, very polite and knowledgeable. I have never had them have to return do to an issue they missed or where unable to take care of right away. They check all aspects of the AC unit and always recommend additional services that may be needed for the system. While Mike came to fix a capacitor on my out door unit, he checked all the ventilation system including my dryer vent. He then recommended cleaning service for the vents and showed me pictures he had taken of inside the ventilation and I was blown away by the level of dust inside and was incredibly thankful that he was able to bring that to my attention. Able heating and Air is really a solid company, I will alway recommend them.

We received constant communication during the replacement of our old outdated system to a new zoned system. One day into this summer’s 95-plus degree heat wave, our 23-year old TRANE heat pump stopped working. A minor repair got it going again, but we saw it as a sign that now was time to replace the aging system.Our number one priority was to find a local service provider who sold TRANE units. We selected Able Heating & Air and couldn’t be more pleased with our choice. They sell quality products and back them up with superb service and installation work. Neil met with us, performed a detailed analysis, and offered a package that would not only replace our existing system, but also solve nagging hotspot problems we had been struggling with for years. This involved replacing the primary heat pump and adding a mini-split unit to address the hotspot issue.First came the mini-split. Joe completed the installation in two days. He was meticulous in every aspect of the procedure and the resulting improvement was immediate. Shortly after, Mike and Greg followed up with replacement of the primary heat pump. The results were nothing less than amazing. Even though the ensuing month was the hottest in memory, our electric bill actually dropped substantially from the same month last year and the temperature level of every area remained cool and constant.The best part of the project was the follow-up service provided by Greg’s team. Remember that this was our primary consideration when selecting a HVAC company. We were not disappointed. As with any retrofit, adjustments were expected. Ours was no exception in that an air duct needed to be modified. Mike and Mark did an expert job of making and installing the needed connection. The result was professional..We look forward to many years of a perfectly functioning system with continuing service by the staff of Able Heating & Air. They have earned our highest rating and recommendation.

Wow! This company is one of the best companies in Culpeper Va . They are not money hungry ! They will do everything and anything to help out your family! I am 9 months pregnant and my A/C unit had stopped working on the hottest days in June . Liam is a technician we met for an unrelated problem with heating and AC at our other property. He also did a very thorough job and presented his findings clearly and professionally. I called Able Heating and Air to come out and give an estimate on a solution I came up with to help reduce the retained heat in my home. The gentleman arrived on time and was very polite and professional. He listen to me and explained an alternative solution. This solution was not in the best interest of the company and I was going to need to contact a roofer. He at no time tried to up sell me anything just offered genie customer service. He also recommended a technician come out and look at me AC unit, he setup the appt for the next day.Later that afternoon I received a call that a technician had finished a job close to me and was able to come now. Liam arrived promptly and like the estimator, was an all around genuine nice guy. He offered tips on my system, explained maintenance programs, and explained options to help correct my issue. He never once pushed a sale on me and offered his honest professional opinion.A bad storm rolled in as he was getting ready to clean my outside unit. He was ready and willing to do the work in the weather and I refused his service, requesting they schedule another date and time for his safety. He called his office and rescheduled for the next day on the original time he was suppose to come out. It took three visits to get my problem resolved. The first visit was the triage to confirm that my leaking inferior A-coil (installed 10 years prior by another company) was indeed the culprit to my refrigerant loss. They ran late to that initial visit, but we’re proactive in calling with updates and apologetic for being late. The second visit was to present options for repairs/upgrades and to generate an estimate on the spot. The third visit occurred two days later once all the parts were on hand for the repair. They were otherwise timely, professional and competent in their work. They were agile enough to adjust their quote and workload to include the addition of a return to the system that was discussed but not part of the original estimate. I’d gladly use them again for my future HVAC needs.

I eventually had to get a new HVac system installed and they helped me with finding no interest financing. They came back a week after install to follow up and make sure the new system was running as it should. Wonderful service - quick and efficient! I called them for my office as I had a great experience a few years back with them at my home. I called on the 2nd day of early heatwave this year when our unit decided to quit working. It was 9:30am and already 80 degrees in the office when I called them. I relayed my situation, fully prepared to be told I would have to wait until the following day as I was sure they were swamped with similar calls. The young lady told me that she was sorry, but their main technician was ill and they were not certain they could reach us until late in the day. I was amazed that they could even handle it that soon. She told me she was going to make a call and get back with me shortly with a time. She called back within a short time to tell me that the owner was taking some of the technicians calls and would be out to us before lunch. Approximately a half hour later, the gentleman walked into my office, ready to help with our problem! He was quick and efficient, having the solution assessed within mins and on his way to pick up the needed part. He was back in a short time and had the cool air circulating through a grateful office BEFORE lunch time. I was very pleased with the excellent service, courteous treatment and fair pricing. The gentleman showed me detailed pricing and options for servicing as well. There was no hard sell or pressure. A wonderful experience for us and I would whole-heartedly recommend Abel for home or commercial needs.

Two years ago we had Greg come out to educate and give us an estimate on a new air conditioning system. My husband and I were (and continue to be) SO impressed. Weve dealt with a number of companies between buying a system at our previous house before selling and dealing with companies sent to us by the home warranty company we were under the first year at our new house. No other company took time to educate us or professionally plan and ensure our new system would be right for our house instead of piggybacking off the previous systems calculations. We continue to use Ables maintenance program for our system check-ups and have loved every technician weve been introduced to. A year after our system was put in our average monthly energy bill with RECs budget billing was literally cut in half because the new system is uber efficient; the same day I saw one of the Able trucks at a local gas station and had to stop to share the awesome news. Tonight, Greg came right over and got us back online on an emergency call out when after a summer power outage our system didnt start up. My 4 year old son HAD to stay up to see him because Mr. Greg has made such an incredibly positive impression since he first came out two years ago to give us an estimate and explain system options to us. I often find myself wishing for the professional planning, calculations, service, and education on systems and options that Greg provides for heating and AC from other contractors.
