    Would highly recommend the vent service team! I have all the ducts in my house replaced, the old duct board was infested with mold and really needed to go! However beyond just getting the ducts replace the team was great! Forest, Robbie, and Dave were great. They went above and beyond to leave both my crawlspace and my attics better than when they started. They did a few extra little things and worked to make both spaces more useable. Awesome people, awesome company!

    Brian M went above and beyond the call of duty. On a late Friday afternoon, he spent extra time on a quote job when he could have gone home to his family. He fit us in after a cancellation and was extremely helpful in identifying a couple of problems that needed to be fixed. A terrific communicator, straightforward with what needs to be done, and a super nice guy. Because of employees like Brian, WE Brown will be in business for another 100+ years.

    Our AC quit working and it was 86 degrees in the house. We were melting! W. E. Brown was recommended to us. We called and they didnt have any availability till the following day but the receptionist said if a technician finished early she would send him over that afternoon, and thats just what she did. John, the technician was very kind, thorough and professional. He stayed till well after 6 pm and got our unit running. Temp is a comfy 73. He also explained all pricing and repair plans going forward. We are very happy with their service so far.

    Weve been using W.E. Brown for years and theyve always treated us well. We had a complex problem caused by another contractor, and they were able to respond quickly and work up a few different options for solutions that would be most appropriate for our budget. Through the whole process they treated us with respect and really worked for our best interest, and theyve helped us make our home what we want it to be. Weve been customers for over 10 years and will continue to be for as long as we own the house.

    The pair of service techs asked about issues we were having with our HVAC system when they arrived for our regular maintenance service. After thoroughly providing the routine maintenance, they explained what they found and our options for continuing to use our 30+ year old furnace with possible replacement of parts that might be wearing out vs. a system upgrade. Well be interested to get more information about replacement of parts vs. replacing the whole system.

    I love W.E. Brown. They are responsive and very detailed oriented. They have installed and serviced my HVAC and Mini Splits. Recently, I had insulation blown in the attic. The installers may have accidentally moved the drain line or insulation got into the drain. MY AC thermostat went dark and we had no upstairs AC. It gets hot so quickly on a humid and hot July night. John came and was so professional and friendly. He was meticulous as he cleaned out the lines and readjusted the line that was tilted. He took pictures of my attic system and explained everything in full detail. Thank you, John and W.E Brown!

    Its pretty Hot in Charlottesville. And of course our AC was not up to the task. Initially we were told it would have to wait a month. I would be a puddle before long. We contacted their management and explained we were long standing customers and had a service contract. I admit we may not have adequately communicated with them on the 1st call. We were told they would send Sam out immediately and they did. Sam and his assistant, sorry didnt get his name, were Fantastic. They checked the system changed the filter and stayed to make sure it was working optimally. They also gave us pointers on how to keep it functioning in our 98 degree weather. They couldnt have been friendlier or more professional.Our house been with w.e. brown for more 30 years beyond records they have.After Sams visit we realize our service contract with them is money well spent.

    The plumber arrived as schehuled, was very polite and got right to work. I had 2 toilets that were clogged up for several days.It took the plumber only about an hour to free both of them.This firm has high rating because of its good employees.

    We had a wonderful experience with Mike Hauck. Our outside air conditioning fan would stop randomly, we thought, and the temperature in the house would get as high as 82 degrees! He took a look and diagnosed it correctly as the condensation pump! It wasnt emptying the water it took from the air and the safety switch that signals the fan to stop as a way to prevent collected water from overflowing onto the floor was actually doing its job! Mike installed a new pump..and problem solved!! Thank you so much, Mike. And thank you, W.E.Brown! You guys are the best!!

    I signed an annual contract for plumbing and heating inspection with W. E. Brown. I am super impressed with their efficiency, their punctuality, and their management protocols. First off, due to the heavy rains that passed through Cville in Jan, their plumbers were in high demand. So 24 hours before their scheduled visit, a lady called on behalf of the plumbing unit, and asked if they could reschedule since all the plumbers were out. I agreed since I am fortunately not in a flood situation. But the heating guys showed up dot on 8.30 am in the morning- as promised. And they were just superb. One of them, Sam Brown, inspected all the heavy machinery. The other man, Kyle, changed all the filters in the house and took all the readings. And to top it all, when I asked Kyle if he could help me because I am short and cannot reach the high ceiling even on a step-ladder, the young man checked out all my smoke-alarms through the apartment, changed batteries on three of them, and gave me solid advice on the rest. I am beyond pleased with this service. I recommend them highly- and especially this duo that visited me this morning. Way to go.

    WE Brown is the third H&A contractor we have had in CVille. We have been with them for three years. They are not the biggest, but they are the best.They also have an electrical division. I had a breaker fail. They were out the same day and fixed it.For example, our AC unit quick working on a hot summer day. I called and got priority service. WE Brown was there within the hour and we had AC that afternoon. With our last contractor, we got put on a list and sweated for two days.A second example. This week the furnace fan motor was emitting an electrical smell and was loud. I called and they had two technicians out working, but the first one to finish would be there. No hurry, I said, gas fireplace was keeping us warm. WE Brown was there in under an hour. The fan motor had been replaced by another contractor three years before and was probably under warranty. WE Brown found that an undersize capacitor was installed and caused the premature failure. New motor and new capacitor was installed. It is QUIET. The big news: The job cost was 1/3 of the previous contractor.WE Brown may not be the biggest, but they are the best.     The staff are always warm, helpful, and on the ball, and the technicians have been keeping our geothermal HVAC system in great shape, as needed, for almost eight years with quick estimates, fast repairs, and without ever being pushy about any extra services. Eight years ago, when we began building our house, management was a pleasure to work with, both very knowledgeable and helpful in discussing and explaining the design, while taking my requests and questions during the construction period seriously.     We didnt want to pay for the emergency fee when we discovered our sink leaking after business hours, but they had a tech at our home by 930am the next morning! Our job ended up being more complicated than anticipated, but Dale, our plumber, was knowledgeable, professional, and polite and didnt leave until the job was done. He even vacuumed my entire kitchen, explained the issue and what he did, and then answered other plumbing questions in our home. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them or call again. Great service.

    The electrical technicians were polite, knowledgeable and did a great job of installing our lights. I was not as impressed with one individual in the office. Our initial appointment was to be first available. After some thought, I had realized that could be an Issue if we needed to make plans to be away from our house. I called about Oct 1and asked to be rescheduled and was given the date of October 16, 2nd call. I called yesterday afternoon and found that yes we were on the books for the 16th, but first available, which meant again, we could be waiting for an appointment that didn’t occur for days. I was put on hold, the phone was taken off hold and I heard one of the office staff say “I hope I don’t have to hang up on her”, and the phone was immediately disconnected . I don’t know whether she was talking about me or not, but it is not something that should be said in an office when you are dealing with customers. I immediately called back and spoke with Donna. I have found her to be helpful anytime I have talked to her, as she was yesterday. She went back and checked the recorded conversation I had had when the appointment was scheduled, called me back in about 10 minutes and said you the technicians could be at our house within 15 minutes. This was actually one day earlier than expected, we were delighted with the job they performed and we appreciate Donna’s efforts. I realize installation of lights is not an emergency situation, and I would gladly have changed our date if there had been communication about the need to change. We have used Brown for years and this is the first negative experience we have ever had with them. I highly recommend them for plumbing electrical and any other services they provide.

    Josh and Josh did a full re pipe of my older house and were absolutely amazing! They were friendly and responsive, and did an amazing job. They problem solved with any issue that came up with my older fixtures, and were wonderful to communicate with. They were great with my dogs as well, and even helped me with advice for a project I was working on with my chicken coop. My dog got into my coop while they were working on the house and they heard my yelling and came out to help, which was chicken life saving. They were booked solid with appointments, but offered to put me on cancellation status, meaning that if someone cancelled, or if one of their techs finished early, they would come out. And they DID! Same DAY! The tech who came out, had already been here several times over the years. He knew exactly what to do, diagnosed the problem, and finished quickly. Yet another great experience!Update 5/12/21: WE Brown just installed a new mascerating toilet in a difficult location. The technician provided an estimate, the work was scheduled a few weeks out. They showed up on time for the work. They made adjustments for unforeseen circumstances, installed supply, waste, and vent lines, and completed the work the same day. Professional.Previous Review: I love W.E.Brown. Theyve been servicing my home for 5 years now, and are thoroughly professional. Theyre wonderful on the phone, they have all my pertinent info stored in their records, they tell me when someone will be available, and then they show up when then say! We have a complicated heating system and water system, and theyre willing to trouble shoot and go the extra mile. About three years ago, I signed up for the service plan, and that has made it even easier. Several of my calls have been on the weekends, and they have come right out to diagnose and fix. Thank you and keep up the great work!Update 3/19/21 This is a professional organization. The communication is excellent. Just had a service call on a toilet. The only thing that I wasnt expecting was that their appointments slots were booked a week out, so they put me on a First-come-first-served basis, which means if their techs finished their regular appointments early for the day, they do the first-come list. For some reason, they couldnt say what number in line I was (like second, or tenth, or thirty-fifth...) so it was a mystery as to whether they were likely to get there in a day or a week or ever. Turned out it was three days, which wasnt bad. Very happy with the tech. I also asked for a proposal to install a new toilet in a new location, and the tech evaluated and prepared the proposal right away. Good experience. Glad WE Brown is busy - means theyre thriving.

    I had a water line from the meter to the house that was leaking. Originally it was going to be replaced but Cody found the leak and we agreed to have it repaired instead (about 25% of the cost to replace it and a lot less digging). Cody was very good and worked to ensure it was repaired and even corrected some issues with how the line was originally installed through the foundation. Communications from the office were timely and good. Jennifer was very helpful and nice. Overall very satisfied with the people and the work. I do think WE Brown was on the high side regarding cost and if you have time you should get estimates from other plumbers. Also, WE Brown offers no guarantees on their work when they repair a water line to your house. They do offer a one-year warranty on a replacements.

Daniel was just the person I needed -- personable, knowledgeable and respectful of my ideas -- even when I didnt know what I was talking about. Not only did he take the time to explain the different components of the entire HVAC system, he drew diagrams, put labels on components for future maintenance, he updated the wiring configuration of my nest thermostat, he serviced the mini-split unit in a separate outbuilding, he went as far as to re-locate a hard-to-reach component in my furnace for future tech access and easy replacement should I ever need it. He took his time to do things correctly, focusing on ergonomic solutions and ease of maintenance for future techs (and homeowners). WE Brown, and Jonathan specifically, is the only person I ever want servicing my HVAC system. He was that good.

    The whole experience from working with office to the work done by Justin and another young woman was great. They came to my house when they said they would be there.
