Big shoutout to Charleston Electric! We have been in this house less than a year and have had a series of issues with our generator. Our previous contractor was slow to respond and somehow, despite a series of visits to our home, never managed to get the generator up and running properly. When we realized we needed another contractor, Charleston Electric was quick to respond and super helpful. Bruce is a pro – and funny to boot. Oh – and he pointed out that the generator is still under warranty, so there was no charge for the repair he made today. (Funny how the previous contractor never let on about the warranty.)

We had problems with a down draft vent that had not been used for some time and suddenly came to life in the early hours of yesterday morning, making a loud, grating noise and flashing red lights on the control.We found the circuit breaker to turn off the power to the fan but that also affected all the kitchen counter plugs and switches.I called Charleston Electric and they responded with an appointment this morning.John D came out at the appointed time, capped off the wire to the fan after checking everything. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and forthcoming in his explanation of the problem.We were very pleased with all aspects of the call and would not hesitate to use Charleston Electric when needed and would recommend John and Charleston Electric to friend and neighbors.

Replaced an outside pergola switch that controls decorative lighting. Traced kitchen circuits to prevent future circuitry issues. Additionally he had some suggestions regarding can lights to be changed to LED can lights. We’ve already placed the order for 27 new LED lights. We’ll schedule Peter to do the install because we know it will be done RIGHT. On return visits Peter install 5 dimmer switches with companion switches. Nov 13, 2024 I had no power in any of the outlets in a bedroom. Paul S & T were able to diagnose and locate the faulty wire. Paul is certainly knowledgeable and patient as he explained the issue and the probable cause. The problem actually existed in another room. Paul restored my peace of mind knowing that my daughter and grandson are safe. For a novice as myself who knows nothing of electricity and the fires which can arise from an electrical issue, I am grateful and can sleep safe tonight knowing that Charleston Electric came through again in a timely manner. Dylan was fantastic! He arrived at the very beginning of the time window that had been scheduled. He was friendly, knowledgeable, skilled, very helpful, and explained everything in ways that were easy to understand.I had a hanging light in the kitchen (installed by another company over a decade ago) that recently started tripping the circuit breaker every time I tried to turn it on. Dylan diagnosed the problem, and confirmed my suspicion that the weight of the light was hanging by the electrical cord and not by the chain (i.e., cord was tight and chain was loose), and gravity over time caused the stretching/malfunction of the cord.He removed the old light and correctly installed a new light (I purchased before he arrived).Charleston Electric and Dylan were great, and I will have him back for a couple of projects in the near future.Thanks Dylan!

We recently used Charleston Electric to purchase and install our new Generac whole home generator. They did an AMAZING job from start to finish with the generator, stand, gas connection and electrical connection. I was so pleased with them that I also had them repair several outlets we had that didn’t work. Mike Munoz was the electrician that came out and he was prompt, professional and thorough. We had seven outlets that had stopped working and he traced them and found the problems and repaired for us. It was a great experience all around with the generator and the repair work.
