You rarely think about your hot water heater, until your son goes downstairs to find something, and says.... Hey Dad, theres water all over the floor!! Ugh & the google search began. We try hard to buy from a local company, and Dr. Waterheater was the company we chose. When I spoke with John he listened to my explanation of the current situation, concisely reviewed the options for a replacement & installation, quoted a flat fee, and we set up an installation date.John, and his son arrived & they were personable, professional, considerate & efficient. 45 minutes later, the old water heater was removed (I had drained it earlier that morning) a new gas line was run, a new shut off was soldered in, and the new water heater was installed. They also took time for my 15 yr old son, who was curious about the whole whole process - explaining what they were doing, how a joint is soldered, how the hot water heater operated, how their really cool motorized dolly worked, and showed how their truck was set up. The 6 year warranty on the water heater & parts along with the 1 year labor warranty don t hurt either.

Follow-up two years later: I was having issues with my relief valve seeping water. It turns our my expansion tank went bad. He was here to take care of it in just a few days and covered the cost of the replacement under warranty! We had excellent service from Dr. Waterheater - they were prompt, honest and went above and beyond to ensure everything was 110%. While finishing the service call, one of our toilet valves blew (total fluke!) and they went out of their way to go to Home Depot, buy a new part and install it before they left. I would recommend them to anyone looking for reliable and honest work. John and his son were also polite and professional, even with my curious six year old following them around all afternoon.

I couldn’t believe it! The plumber contacted me and installed a new water heater since it was under warranty. I had so much going on with things needing repaired; I will never forget their kindness! He gave me his advice about when I should get a new water heater instead of telling me I had to get one now! Father and son came to deliver and install the new tank. They were able to run a new electrical line from the panel and had everything set up in a very timely and professional fashion. Removed the old tank, disconnected and capped the gas line. These people are great. They know hot water heaters inside and out.

It is rare to find this level of service these days. We are extremely happy with the quality of work as well as the price. John was very thorough, explained everything, was friendly and was also more than $1,000 less than a local competitor. He really does care about his customers and that was clear from the start. Superb Top Notch Service! John is a rare gem is todays world- a combination of traditional values as well as a modern savvy business owner. He is a professional and an expert in his field who takes pride in his work. He is genuine and very passionate about his business (a legacy passed down to him). He is a hard working devoted family man who is conscientious of the service he provides and strives for 100% customer satisfaction. We called on a Friday afternoon and John arrived to assess our situation at the end of his already busy day. While diagnosing our problem we became aware that his family was awaiting his arrival for dinner when he received a call and politely excused himself. It was his daughter. We heard the end of the conversation...I promise I will be home soon...Love you!!! It was very humbling to hear. He continued our appointment and made arrangements for the next day. John called prior to his arrival as promised the next day and was at our residence and basically we had our problem solved in less than 24 hours. He took the time to answer all of our questions, made sure that he covered the floors when taking out the old tank and bringing in the new tank and showed us all of the features with our new product. He was thorough and very reasonable. He is not only Dr Waterheater...he is the Specialist when is comes to water heaters and customer service. I am sure that he is making his dad proud!

Honest, professional, knowledgable, polite and fair. When my water heater broke, they were out in no time to get it running again. However, because of the age, they suggested having it replaced. Im finishing my basement and took this as an opportunity to move the water heater, pipes and exhaust to save space. They showed genuine interest in understanding my goal and worked with me to accomplish that. They explained the entire process and didnt blink an eye when I threw in a last minute request.Because this wasnt the basic install, I was given a range for the estimate of work. This was the first contractor Ive experienced that not only stayed within the given range but actually hit the lowest end.

Called Dr. Waterheater because I had low hot water pressure. His response was you probably have a Rheem Powervent that is 10 - 12 years old. I do and they knew exactly what to do to fix it. Fast, courteous and professional service! My hot water tank blew midway through my morning shower and I had a client meeting to get to. After some quick analysis, I called Johns office and left a message. John called me back within a few minutes. He quickly took me through various options after I explained what was going on. He told me that Justin, his installer would call me early afternoon, which he did.Justin arrived when he said he would, worked quickly and was very polite and courteous. He explained everything that had happened to the previous heater and explained what he was going to be doing prior to doing anything. After installation, Justin walked me through the new water heater settings and their recommendations. My wife was very impressed with Justin also. He is passionate about his work and is committed to doing it right the first time. I highly recommend Justin and Dr. Waterheater!

Honest! I am thrilled that we found DR. Waterheater. Rather than having to replace the whole water heater, they informed me mine was actually in good shape and were able to fix for a very reasonable cost instead. Most people, like myself, know very little about water heaters and can easily be taken advantage of. John (owner of this generational family business) was friendly answering my questions so I could understand what was going on with it, what bigger problems would look like, etc. I appreciate them not simply doing the bigger, more costly job instead. When I finally do have to replace it, they will be my first call. Highly recommend.

I have a rental unit with a hot water tank that kept shutting off and I had to keep relighting the unit, I called Dr.waterheater and explained the issue and they could service the unit but after talking to the operator/owner and realizing that the unit I had was most likely 10-15 years old and it served its purpose and that it was time to retire it and replace it. From the time I called to the time Justin came out to install it was less than 24 hours extremely quick service and professional, Justin the installer was easy to talk to and he answered every question professionally and fixed every issue and I believe went above and beyond and fixed every issue he could with what he had he stayed and made sure the tank was operating properly showed me how to light the unit step by step.Long story short I will continue to use Dr.waterheater for as long as there around, having an employee like Justin is what keeps customers coming back and Ill keep coming back.

Called Dr. Water Heater and asked about having my tank replaced since it was 14 years old and the brand had lots of negative reviews I didn’t want to chance it any longer even know it seemed fine.I live pretty far out from his typical area of coverage but he was willing to travel the extra distance. It was a non emergency call and he was able to get me on the schedule within a week. I’m sure it would have been faster if needed. He answered all my questions and explained everything very well. I Had to make a decision between the two tank models he offered for a 50 gallon tank replacement. John seemed confident in both brands when asked what he recommended.In the end I decided on the Rheem and was on the fence about purchasing the extra 4 year warranty extension offered By Rheem which included an extra anrode rod for hopefully longer tank life. John explained it was probably not needed but explained every once in a while a few of the new tanks do leak within the standard warranty coverage.I asked John if he could install an extra rod without purchasing the coverage extension which would have help me save 110 dollars, he said he was willing to do this as long as he had one and when he checked he said he did. In the end I decided to purchase the warranty instead but it was nice to know he was willing to help save on some cost.Once that decision on the tank was made he and his son installed the tank with no issues very neatly and quickly. Once he installed the tank and new water valves, one new valve had a slight leak. He definitely could have let this go since it was hardly noticeable, and from what I saw it was mostly just moisture and not yet a leak however he knew it was not right and replaced it with another new valve and made sure everything was leak free prior to leaving.I had a friend who’s tank burst a week prior which destroyed his finish basement and when he had the tank replaced by a big advertisement company the install was total garbage and he had to have them rip it out and fight with them to get reimbursed. Now his brother and Dad are replacing it for him. His install for the same brand tank I purchased cost him over double what I paid because it was considered an “emergency service call” He could have installed a tankless system for just a little more then what he paid them. I told him Dr. Water Heater would have been able to get the job done right and probably would have got him up and running in a few days and maybe less. Obviously Dr. Water Heater can’t control the life expectancy of the tank but the quality installation you get will absolutely help at a fair price. My wife said she noticed the difference with the new tank immediately later that night when it was bath time for her and the kids!

I wish every company ran their business the way John runs his. I started noticing that my hot water was running out fairly quickly and that my water heater was almost 15 yrs old so I knew it was time to get a new one. Dr. Water Heater came highly recommended from a friend so I gave John a call. John actually answers the phone, no call center connections. John and I spoke about what was going on and he agreed that my tank had come to the end of its life. He asked if I could text him pictures of what I currently had which I quickly did. He called me right back and stated that he had two models that would work best in my house. Both models were the same price so he talked through the features of each so I could make the best choice. John got me scheduled for 2 days later which was fine because I still had a working tank. John and his son arrived right on time, explained all that was going to happen and then got to work. They were both very efficient and quickly had my old tank loaded in the back of their truck and my new one fully installed. John then noticed that one of my valves may have been leaking so he replaced it with a new one a no extra cost. The price that John gives you over the phone is what you pay, no hidden costs. Both guys are very friendly and we joked around while squaring up the bill. John stands behind all of his work and is able to service everything he sells. No third party warrant work that we have all suffered through at in time or another. I will recommend Dr. Water heater to anyone and everyone that is in need of a new water heating system!
