Eli and his team were exceptional to work with on the gut renovation of our 4 bedroom apartment. Starting from the first design meeting, Eli and Marykate immediately understood our vision and taste and executed on it perfectly. The process was completely seamless for us. Even when we had building delays, city delays, or unforeseen circumstances, Eli took charge and solved every problem. The finished project is even more incredible than we imagined. The attention to detail is superb and we have full confidence that this is our forever home. Even though everyone warned us that taking on a gut renovation would be a lot of work, it never felt like that knowing we had the Star Renovation team on top of all the details. We cannot recommend Eli enough.

Weve worked with Eli for the past 7 months in getting our kitchen gut renovated. As with anyone undertaking a home remodel over the last 24 months, weve had to deal with all the delays in city permitting, appliance/material deliveries, etc. Star Renovation manage all facets of the project to make sure every work stream continued to push forward as fast as possible despite all the uncontrollable headwinds we faced. They were highly flexible in adjusting to various change orders and other on-the-fly tweaks to the project as we went on. The overall execution of our project was spot-on and was very well worth the wait! We recommend Eli and the entire Star team to anyone looking to make a transformational remodel to their home.

Eli, Marykate, and the rest of the team at STAR did a great job on our renovation. We had a large project which involved completely remodeling our kitchen, building new ceilings with soundproofing, and rebuilding our closets. They worked very hard to complete our job on time, and the final result looks amazing, plus the sound proofing really works well. STAR Renovations was very organized and handled a lot of complex tasks for our job, which required modifications to our sprinkler system, plumbing, and electrical wiring. They were very accommodating to our unique requests, and did many extra favors around our apartment such as fixing our thermostat and installing missing trim. We were pleased with the communication between us, and it was great to get regular updates and progress photos. STAR really did great work for us and we love our new home.

We are so glad we chose Star Renovations NY for the renovation of our Upper West Side Apartment. From the beginning Eli and his team were there to help us navigate a difficult board approval, procure all permits, insurance and paperwork, and work with building management to get our plan approved and moving.While we originally had only planned to renovate our kitchen, we felt so confident in Stars quality of work that we expanded our renovation to include new doors and moulding, overhead lighting, built in cabinetry, new fixtures and finishes, a refresh of our bathroom and refinishing of our floors. The work was completed ahead of schedule and the BuilderTrend app they use kept us up to date on daily progress and payments.The finished product was every bit as beautiful as we had hoped and we had absolutely no complaints from building management or our neighbors which is critical when living in a Co-Op apartment building.We would strongly recommend Eli and Star Renovations NY to anyone doing construction work in NYC!

Both projects were completed early, and the experience was smoothless, as Eli handled all of the paperwork and interacted with my co-op management. The daily photos and constant availability put my mind at ease as I had to relocate during the work. I wouldnt hesitate to recommend them!

We hired Eli and his team to do a full gut renovation of our new 3 bedroom 3 bath apartment, where we did not leave a single room untouched. When I first spoke with him, Eli laid out the process end-to-end and emphasized the importance of planning upfront, which I fully appreciated. Throughout the process, Eli and Marykate took care of all the logistics (design, permitting, coordinating with the building, etc.) so that all we had to worry about was selecting the various finishes. In the middle of construction, we unfortunately had to redesign a couple of bathrooms when the team discovered issues when the walls were opened up, but they alerted us quickly and walked us through options so that we could come up with a solution together to keep things on schedule. Also, given supply chain issues due to COVID, some of our original selections were not available, but every time this happened, Eli and Marykate were quick to offer alternatives. Overall because of the careful planning and attention to the logistics, our project finished a full month ahead of schedule. A gut renovation can be stressful at the best of times, but because of the exceptional services provided by Eli, Marykate, and their team, we were able to able to get our dream apartment with minimal stress. I would (and already have) highly recommend Star Renovations to any of my friends who need to do renovations.

There is nothing quite so challenging as renovating a NYC apartment, and hiring Star allowed us to avoid many headaches. Stars owner, Eli Zikry, is the complete package. He is communicative, insightful, and headstrong when needed. He delivered a beautiful finished product, met all of our design needs, did not delay in completing the work, addressed our concerns with respect, managed our interactions with vendors, building management, and neighbors, and did it all for the price we initially agreed on.From the outset, Eli worked with us to develop a scope of work that would leave no surprises. By the end of the project, we had entered only one change order on our fixed-price contract, for an item that we specifically asked for. Eli was also willing to negotiate some of the finer points of the contract that were important to us (my partner is a construction disputes litigator), and he handled a minor payments dispute midway through the project professionally. In an industry where many contractors will threaten to walk off the job as soon as an owner complains, Eli never treated us unfairly.Eli was unflappable when it came to dealing with our building’s management. With so many decisions to make on a project like this, we appreciated how Eli escalated only the most serious problems to us, and how he always took our lead when we decided on a course of action. Eli knows that his clients need to maintain good relationships with their building and neighbors, and he is an excellent ambassador in that regard.Eli also has a keen eye, which is critical on a project that requires many tiny decisions and a coherent design philosophy. He presented us with a complete vision for the apartment, which harmonized all of our inspiration photos with the character of our building and neighborhood. When certain fixtures inevitably became unavailable, or when we inevitably wanted to make minor changes mid-stream, Eli was understanding and cooperative. Best of all, because his contract pricing accounts for such inevitabilities, we never needed a change order to address a sourcing issue or design tweak.Eli also runs a sound business, which relieved a lot of day-to-day stress. Unlike many GCs, who need to hire subcontractors for each trade, Eli subcontracts out only for plumbing and electrical work. Everyone else works for Star, which allows Eli to keep close watch on everything. This is important, since, if you’ve read this far, you recognize that Eli is a perfectionist. He was on site almost daily, sending us photos and keeping us updated. He was also transparent with us about his pricing philosophy and approach to change orders.If this review is short on complaints, that’s a testament to Eli’s transparency and communication at every stage. On a project like this, there were bound to be surprises and setbacks, but we never doubted that Eli was on our team and working to come up with the best solution. In an industry where that is not a given, we will always be thankful that we hired him.

Buying and remodeling your first home can be one of the more stressful experiences as you want everything to be perfect. Even without a global pandemic, there are bound to be unexpected surprises. Eli and his team exceeded expectations in quality and time of delivery. As Eli has told me, that I’m a bit of a perfectionist, but he never hesitated to come back and do additional work to make sure my expectations were met. Despite a global pandemic, Eli was able to get the apartment nearly complete and move-in ready a month ahead of schedule which really gave me comfort in a chaotic time. Would highly recommend

I highly recommend Star Renovation. These guys were extremely punctual, efficient and professional. They made renovation, which is usually a miserable ordeal into a very smooth operation. I was very pleased. Rarely do you find contractors delivering what you want on time and practically turn key.
