Carl and Kevin gave me great recommendations and I checked everything out. I compared pricing on line and found the pricing at RES to be really competitive but much more convenient. I purchased a 400 watt system for my Wolf Creek truck camper and it took me only about 3.5 hours to install. I called for advice several times and every time I was helped in a friendly, professional manner. Hats of to RES.

We recently had Renewable Systems Energy install solar panels. From initial ordering to installation and follow up our experience was great. The crew was very professional, friendly and hard workers. We were advised that the utility company may take a coupe of weeks to come out and exchange the meter and this is exactly what happened. We now can watch our energy production knowing we are saving money.

All the staff at RES Anchorage have been extremely helpful over several years of purchasing gear and hiring them for rural call-out jobs. They helped us select the correct equipment for our system and provided lots of tech support through the DIY jobs. Karl was even willing to help after business hours while I was troubleshooting in the dark. I feel like they genuinely want your off grid power system to work well, not just sell you the most expensive equipment. Thanks RES.

I called RES over Christmas break. I was at a remote/off grid cabin and my generator failed with temps reaching -32F. The Solar system I purchased from RES was working perfectly. But my back-up generator was not powering the cabin. I called KEVIN at RES. He spent nearly 40 minutes on the phone with me troubleshooting my issues. Kevin was patient and knowledgeable and got my system up and running. Customer service like this is hard to find! I will not buy any solar anywhere other than from RES. Kevin has my repeat business.

I had bought a used solar off grid system from a neighbor but it wasnt complete. I informed them what I had and they told me what I would need to make it work and gave me more than one option. I was only sold what I needed and the price was right. It didnt end there. Once I had everything hooked up, they helped me fine tune the system for the best performance. Any issues I had were resolved very quickly. Im a very happy customer who will continue to do business with RES for many years to come. Thank you!

Our off grid cabin system was getting tired. Kevin was very helpful in recomending a replacement inverter and took the time to look at all the components to ensure compatability and ease of plug and play!He was available for follow up phone call to ensure proper settings were in place after starting up. He made a the whole experience a lot better.

Professional work, friendly staff and very reasonable price!My rep was very knowledgeable and figured out exactly what would work for my rig based on my needs. Got me in before Memorial Day weekend and gave me a conservative week estimate to complete the project. I was totally surprised when they called me the same day to say they had already completed the install! The worked looked liked it came from the factory. I’m super impressed and will definitely be a repeat/referral customer.

RES put together a nice grid-tied PV system for us at a reasonable price and they were always pleasant to interact with. With in-house electricians, they are able to coordinate the work smoothly and even installed our EV charger. Highly recommend this shop!

Purchased a RES battery back up system just before this winter and they were able to install it much sooner than initially expected despite being fully booked out on the schedule during the winter holiday seasons! The install took about 7 hours (11a-6p) to complete and went without any issues. The electrician was friendly and very informative and cleaned up the work area very well! I already paid half of the total upfront weeks before the install and after the install they called me the next day to ask how everything went etc and noted that I didn’t have have to pay the remaining half of the balance until after they came out again to give me a more in depth tutorial on how the system works. They even offered to video record a tutorial for me for future reference or to even give the new owners should I ever sell the property. I’m glad have the peace of mind that I got this system especially with the assurance that if any future issues or questions should arise regarding this system, RES would be there to address it! Great work RES team! I highly recommend using RES for your back up power needs!

We purchased a solar system for our remote cabin. The sales process was educational, and fun. We got a system to meet our specific needs. I took the equipment home and set it up in my garage before taking it to our cabin, because I wanted to make sure i understood the system and set up process before getting far away and by myself. Karl provided me with friendly valuable tech support, and made sure I understood what I was doing. We purchased a high quality system, with local high quality support. Great value. I enthusiastically give a 5 stat rating.

Very helpful, was needing to add a extra solar panel to my truck camper setup and they had exactly what I needed. They looked over what I had, made suggestions, and didnt try and Selle anything I didnt need. Bought a panel from them, a splitter, and some custom length wire for it. They even let me use thier ladder to put it on quickly before I left. Great little store, would recommend.

I am so grateful I found Karl in Anchorage. He helped me the day I got to the shop. I was on an RV trip to Alaska from California and needed help figuring out what was wrong with my power system. Karl is very knowledgeable about RV power systems, he not only diagnosed my rig that day he was kind enough to do the job that afternoon to help me on my way. Twenty years ago Renewable Energy Systems of Alaska (RES) helped me retrofit my RV with solar which worked great for ten years till I sold it. After comparing them with the competition on the Kenai Peninsula I went with them again for my retirement home Karl and Adrian’s knowledge was incredible on all aspects of the system The installer Cameron and electrician Dave work was excellent Their support on all aspects have been prompt and helpful I highly recommend RES they know their business

The only reason why I didn’t give them five stars is because When I had issues with the shipping company I was not able to get a hold of anybody for almost a week but it all turned out well.

When I started my search for a renewable energy system, I knew I was looking for a one-stop, design and build solution. After a review of the Renewable Energy Systems (RES) website, which depicts photos of many options and the benefits of renewable systems, I took the plunge and called them. Living in Homer, I was surprised that the company was able to provide a representative to my home within one day. After the first meeting with Mark Haller, a representative for their Sales, Design, and Installation group, I knew I had found the right company. Mark took the time to outline site specific considerations and explained in detail the benefits of each type of renewable system. He answered all of my questions and provided a thorough breakdown of costs including an explanation of renewable energy for lower 48 common practices and Alaska local net metering policies. Scheduling was easy and straight-forward and Mark was excellent at returning calls, keeping scheduled appointments, and responding to questions if asked - given that the company is based out of Fairbanks and Anchorage I was VERY impressed with the timely customer service support provided in Homer. In short, Mark facilitated every phase of my renewable system installation with superior customer service - he established trust that Renewable Energy Systems would meet quoted commitments and take care of any future issues promptly and efficiently. I highly recommend Renewable Energy Systems and especially Mark Haller as a representative.

Huge shout out to the guys down here at Renewable Energy Systems. I had a very unconventional schoolie r.v. build and had no clue about how any of what I got went together. Karl came out and assessed my products, suggested a few ways of doing it, and set me up with the right stuff the first time. Not gonna lie some of the kit stuff has spendy but after installing well-worth the money and piece of mind.I had to call back and ask another question the next day and even though i was completely wrong in my thinking Karl again helped me work it out.Im kinda a 5 star or 1 star guy and I would give them 6. If you have a tiny house or conversion check these folks out, wont be disappointed.Thanks guys!!!!

I consider myself a novice regarding solar systems (some knowledge but willing to admit what I don’t know and ask for help) and went to Renewable Energy Systems on Dimond to learn more and explore upgrading my rudimentary battery bank and inverter. I found Kevin and Karl both excellent teachers and great listeners. They didn’t try to sell me something, but instead listened to my story, learned my level of understanding, and asked insightful questions. They clearly were trying to determine my needs and goals. Only then did they started to share what options were available to meet those needs. Solar basics are easy, but the nuances of solar systems and panel arrays are complex and much harder to appreciate when applying them in the real world and not just on paper. Bottom line is that I learned a lot during my multiple visits to their store. I bought a system that I needed and can grow into over time. I had a great purchasing experience including product selection but more importantly education. After the system designed and purchase was made, the hands on education about set up and use was a perfect complement to the design portion. I can’t recommend them enough.

These guys are great! We purchased a complete off grid system from RES to include solar, AGM batteries, inverter, and back up generator. My skill level is low when it comes to installing or troubleshooting a system like this on my own but with the help of the RES team they are able to walk me through step by step processes on any questions I have. I will defiantly be worrying with these guys in the future to further advance my off grid system and would recommend anyone that is on the fence on what company to go with for their power needs to make the choice to go with these guys. Mark has been a wealth of information. During my process of self education, it was clear there are differences of knowledge and accuracy for retailers and installers of solar. Mark and his team were always accurate in their assessments, and their communication was consistent and timely. As we all know, Alaskan customer service is not always the best. Take it from me; these folks are excellent; highly recommended.

Fred and the team at Re Newable are awesome. I am grateful to them and the owner for helping me purchase and set up my Solar System. It more than meets my off grid needs. I would shy away from buying the Surette Batteries. Surettte does not stand behind their warranty. Surrettes management is in Canada and not bound by US law. They will tell you that themselves. When Renewables Owner found out , He replaced the battery (on his off day) out of the goodness in his heart . I will be a Renewable Customer always. Thank you. John
