I called up Hofmeister and they came out first thing the next morning and replaced the water heater in a matter of hours! I cant say enough good things about Hofmeister Plumbing! I woke up to a leak in my basement ceiling and wall under my kitchen. A friend recommended Hofmeister because they had an emergency during the holidays and Hofmeister took care of it right away. So I called and Nancy answered on the first ring. She told me she would send somebody over within the hour and she was true to her word. Eric came, located the source of the leak quickly, and had it repaired perfectly. The relief I felt at being able to get a plumber and have them fix the leak within a couple of hours was simply wonderful. I really cant speak more highly of Hofmeister and would recommend them in a heartbeat.

Hofmeister was amazing!!!! Howard was at my house within a 30 minutes of me calling them for my burst hot water heater. He was insanely helpful, insightful, honest and gave me a great price. Since the tank burst overnight there was a lot of water on my basement floor that I was vacuuming with a shop vac and carrying up 5 stairs to dump outside. As soon as Howard got to my house he went back to his truck to get me a pump to help remove the water, which was above and beyond. He quickly identified the issue with the tank and explained to me in detail what was wrong and how it properly needed to be fixed. I felt very comfortable trusting him that all the work was necessary to completely remediate the issue and stop it from happening again. I will recommend Hofmeister to anyone that needs a plumber and will be calling them back for every need in the future. They were truly amazing and gave me instant relief during such a stressful situation.

I have worked with many plumbers in the Pascack Valley area over the years. While some of the others have done good work, Hofmeister is unique in their responsiveness. They call back quickly, schedule appointments in a reasonable time frame and arrive when promised. Our technician, Andy, was friendly and competent. On one occasion, he was running late because another job took longer than expected, and he called to apologize and gave me a new expected arrival time. We will continue to use Hofmeister for all of our plumbing needs.

Nicholas Ryan was our technician and he was reliable, knowledgable, professional and easy to work with. Our faucet was pretty loose and he was able to tighten it up for us. Our kitchen was renovated about 2 years ago and our kitchen sink started to leak. Nicholas said the pipe looked like it had been there for years - turns out the plumber who put it in (from a different company) did not tighten it and thats why it was leaking. Nicholas did a great job replacing the pipe and making sure that it was put in properly and made sure that there were no more leaks. Would definitely use Hofmeister again.

Had Hofmeister come in and completely replace my furnace a few weeks ago. When I first called, they had someone out within the hour to look at the existing system and give me a quote. I had a couple others come in and give quotes as well and while Hofmeister wasnt the cheapest out of the five, they were certainly more attentive than any of the other cos. I felt the quote was more than fair considering the quality of the new furnace they would be installing. Once approving, they were at my home within a few days with the new furnace. The installers were professional and knowledgeable. The unit was in and working within a day. I also did not pay a cent more than the original quote. Their craftsmanship was excellent and they cleaned up well after the job was complete.I will be using Hofmeister again for all my plumbing, heating and air conditioning needs.

We had a very difficult warranty job that involved replacing a 100 gallon indirect water heater. Besides needing a pump to drain the water heater it was extremely heavy and had to be cut in half just to come up the stairs. Harold and his crew are hard working and have old school mentality. Hard work doesnt scare them and they get it done. This is very difficult to find. The plumbing which included welding was also top notch. Harold follows up and really cares about his customers. He is very busy 24/7 and you need to be patient but he comes through in the end. I feel very comfortable recommending Hofmeister plumbing .

I reached out to Quintin (he’s helped me out last year with a sewer backup issue) luckily he and his partner Carlton were available first thing this morning…. I called on Wednesday May 8 that my 4 year oldHot water heater was not working. Hofmeister installed the hot water heater 4 years ago. Within 2 hours after I called Shant arrived at my home. He was very polite and professional when he greeted me. He quickly was able to find out what was wrong with the unit. Since it was still under warranty he contacted the manufacturer and was able to get replacement parts under warranty. He went to a local supplier but was told that part would take a few day to arrive. He called me to tell me this. He than contact Harold the owner about my situation. They then decided to replace the hot water heater instead of waiting for parts to come.Shant arrive the next day Thursday May 9 at time he said he would. He was able to replace the hot water heater very fast.I would recommend Shant for future plumbing issues.Hofmeister Plumbing should be proud to have him as plumber.

I had an issue with my hot water heater where the pilot light went out and I couldn’t get it to relight. I googled plumbers in my area and right away recognized Hofmeister and called. They sent a very nice tech named Shawn. At first Shawn couldn’t get it lit so he called Rheem and they figured it out and got it started for me again. Shawn recognized that these parts were still under warranty and ordered all new replacements. The next morning, my shower got cold quickly again. When I got home from work, the replacement parts had arrived. I figured I’d wait and have Shawn come the following day as it was late. I tried to light the pilot myself and there was a flash, some smell of burned rubber and some smoke. I called PSEG, they advised to call 911 and leave premises, although it wasn’t a gas smell. In the meantime I had called Shawn to let him know what had happened he offered to install the replacement parts after the area was deemed safe but I wanted the room to air out and had him come in the morning. He replaced the parts, (ignition switch was bad and my trying to light it caused the flash and coating on wire made that smell) and all is good in the world again. Shawn was knowledgeable, informative and explained things to me respectfully so that if/when I ever come across this kind of situation again, I would know what to look for. He was kind and offered to replace the parts at night, and worked with Rheem to get us hot water even if for a bit and went out of his way to ensure they sent us all replacement parts under warranty that could have been related to the problem.Highly recommend Hofmeister & Shawn!

Mr. Harold Hofmeister came quickly, assess the situation and gave an explanation about the possible source of the smell. What is most important is his assurance that there is no gas leak. He took time to explain to me the situation. He did not even charged for his emergency visit. I think that this is my reward for being a Hofmeister customer for many, many years. I remember in 2019 calling the company at night for a a leaky water heater. He patiently instructed me on how to turn off the water. Then he sent someone to change the water heater the following morning.I wish Hofmeister a bountiful 2024.God bless you richly.

Pipes on New Water heater installed by Hofmeister less than 3 years ago had corroded.As a bonus the pressure relief value was leakingNicholas Ryan was sent to fix problems.Nicholas was fantastic. He was knowledgeable, polite, did a professional job.Hofmeister on the other hand did not install it correctly. Wouldn’t do the right thing and fix the problem at their expense. I never had any problems with a water heater, let alone a corrosion problem. Deeply disappointed in Hofmeister. Very Happy with Nicholas Ryan.I give Nick 5 stars Hofmeister one star.I’m sure Mr. Hofmeister is a nice guy but if a problem is due to your faulty work the customer shouldn’t be penalized.

Tyler & his partner Joe, came to install a Condensate Pump to divert the condensation water generated by the Central AC to the outside. The original system, installed 41 years ago, had the condensation drip the water between the walls.As could happen in any service, Tyler’s schedule became backed-up due to a previous emergency he had been called to repair… certainly unavoidable as it can happen to anyone. However, Tyler’s professionalism of alerting me of his delay, followed by updates of his expected arrival time, impressed me greatly as I appreciated knowing of his delays instead of spending the day with “Where is he?”Tyler & Joe arrived, got the job done, cleaned up the working area in the furnace room, and even returned a couple days later to check that the system he installed was working properly.
