    I had a top of the line Cummins house generator installed by American about 7 years ago. The installers were great. The product is great. With a 5 year warranty I had to have the annual maintenance performed by professionals so always have used American Generators for that. First I will say that every tech who has shown up for the maintenance has been absolutely great. They are on time, know what they are doing, and answer all of my questions. The only reason I can’t give American 5 stars is their charge of $350 for the annual maintenance! I understand there is overhead etc. but $350? In the future I will either be performing these myself or checking into more reasonably priced options.

    My Generac natural gas generator hasn’t worked in several years. Definitely didn’t want to chance the summer of power outrages so I gave American generators a call. Early June I talked with the receptionist & Monday of the next week they were out. Joe arrived about 8:30 am (on time) and ready to work. I needed a tune up and new fuse. These guys got me back up and running!!!. Invoice was promptly sent to my email.$285 which included Residential Primary Preventive Maintenance- Change Oil, Oil Filter, Complete 45 Point Inspection, Test Unit for Proper OperationI’ll definitely recommend to friends and business associates.

    If youre looking for a generator repair service, look no further. This full-house generator had not been serviced in over 10 years. I am very thankful to Josh who did a fantastic job of diagnosing and fixing the problem. He had to order a couple of gaskets for an oil leak but he had it all cleaned up and it was humming by the time he left. Highly recommend!

    We finally decided it was time to get a whole house generator. We had been using a pull start generator to keep our refrigerator / freezer cool and to run the furnace in the winter. We live in a rural area and have had power outages lasting up to 8 days.American Generator Sales & Service came out to review our house electrical, talked with us about our needs, things like how big our electric panel was, what appliances (gas and electric) we have, including power for our well and they asked what we could go without during a power outage. They talked with us about where to safely place it and discussed everything that was needed to complete the job. They even reached out to Consumers Energy to upgrade our gas meter for us. They figured out all this sizing for electric and gas, (new gas meter) so everything works perfectly.We were given a few of options and we decided we could live without our Hot Tub running during an outage, but everything else works great. The option we chose was the Kohler 20k. it does everything we need and now that we have had a couple of outages, one that was about 6+ hours on a day over 95* and the AC never missed a beat! We love it. It even emails and text messages us when out power goes out.For the installation; it all went very well. A Consumers Energy tech came out and replaced the meter, very professional. Then American Generator Sales & Service scheduled a few weeks before they came, they called a couple days before to confirm, the work was done quickly, neatly and everything was tested before they left. We are very happy with our purchase, we just wish we did it sooner!

    They installed a new Cummins 20 KW natural gas generator at my house on Monday. Very nice 3 man crew came out and installed the generator and transfer switch. In my opinion went above and beyond to make sure I was informed and any little extras they did without hesitation. Previous experience servicing my gas generator went really well too. Thanks Doug, Mark, and installation crew. Very happy with your company.

    Great shop to work with The owner stands behind his work. My generator was fixed but there was a small unforeseen issue. I needed to bring the generator back and as promised he Made it right at no extra charge. You cant find that kind of guarantee now a days. Thank you again American Generator

    American Generators has been a pleasure to work with. We had a whole house generator installed the first of the year. In spite of the cold weather outside, the crew did a very nice job. Everyone I interfaced with was professional and polite. All needed permits as well as initiating the process for the gas meter upgrade were handled by the staff at American Generator. The owner, Doug, stopped by to check on the job a couple times.
