Yesterday(11/20/24) my wife and I were visited by Aaron Crouch,one of your HVAC installation technicians. The call was to repair a refrigerant leak in the compressor supply line. The job was technically challenging and required excellent functional knowledge of the system operation. Aaron arrived after contacting us by phone ahead of time and explained to us before starting on the job.Aaron quickly diagnosed the source of the leak and repaired it. After he finished the job he quickly cleaned up and explained what had been done. We found Aaron to be extremely polite and knowledgeable and found the job to be outstanding

Bowmans sent technician Eric to diagnose and repair my heat pumps sudden failure to cool. In 90°+ temps, I appreciated having a technician arrive within 24 hours. Eric was quick to diagnose dead capacitor and he had cool air restored within minutes. He also answered questions I had about some changes I wanted to make to my HVAC system. Clearly hes experienced in the field and, as a Realtor who gets involved with HVAC companies on restoration jobs, its refreshing to get straight answers and also creative solutions. I was Erics last call on a very hot day and yet he took the time to share his thoughts on ways to update my system within the confines of its limited space.

Ive had many proactive maintenance services as well as emergency (something broke) services.Most recently my hot water heater died over the weekend and Monday was the New Year holiday, so places were closed. I left them a message at 5pm on Monday and received a text at 8am Tuesday morning. They sent someone out by 9am and by 12:30pm I had a new hot water heater installed. Last night in the middle of the night our HVAC system started blowing HOT air instead of cold air. It was our first day kicking on the a/c this year. We have used Bowman’s before and I knew I would be calling them first thing when they opened to get some help! I left a message on their voicemail prior to opening as I guessed with the heat we had that many people would be calling and in the same boat as us! I was correct. However, Technician Brad called me and advised that although they had a heavy work load today he would make it to our house today. Brad sent a courtesy text advising when he would be arriving, which I really appreciated as we have a large dog that is a little protective and we like to put him outside when new guest arrive. He then called upon arriving to our house which was great communication again! Within a few minutes he diagnosed that our thermostat was toast and educated us that our type defaults to HEAT as a safety fall back. We got the new thermostat installed and soon had cold air blowing full force! Thanks again to Bowman’s and Technician Brad for their responsiveness, professionalism, and fair pricing.

They would jack up prices with un-necessary add ons. One company wanted to cut holes in my drywall.Bowman’s plumbing was referred to me by a friend and I couldn’t have been happier with their service. Their pricing was right inline with what i wanted and they did not try to upsell me with trumped up charges. During this super hot summer, compounded by CV19 equipment shortages, Bowmans HVAC was responsive and helpful. Our system failed due to age, as expected, but we have an infant at home and needed A/C fast! Brad and Austin did a great job in the heat to get both the new outdoor compressor and indoor components installed. Finally, Dawn followed up the day after install to verify system operation, and to indicate they would file the product registration. NEW REVIEW PLUMBING - Late Summer 2020Just used Bowman’s again, this time for plumbing work. Dana Bowman was great to work with on the phone and the Technician, Scott was exceptional. Just like my prior AC review, the Plumbing Division deserves similar praise for not being pushy but rather more consultative in their approach. I had a high water pressure issue and Scott identified the issue and made the repair replacing the pressure reducing valve and adding an expansion tank. It’s so refreshing to have a technician that obviously knows what they are doing, but is also not trying to up sell work that was not needed. I was so impressed with a Scott that we had some additional work done beyond what we called him out to resolve with the high water pressure. We had a new kitchen faucet and garbage disposer added to the work order and he did a great job cleaning up after the work was done. We have nothing but praise for Bowmans and WILL use them again.PRIOR REVIEW A/C & HEATING - Spring 2020We have been using Bowmans for the past few years to service our HVAC that is now 13 years old and has already started to need some expensive repairs. They did this while also replacing an old gas shutoff at the furnace and a rusty electric connection box to the AC unit outside as well as a short section of duct-work inside, all without asking for anything extra. In this world of low-ball pricing and revised pricing estimates, they were a refreshing change.3.) PRIDE IN WORK It has been obvious with my past fall and summer services that Bowmans takes pride in their work, but now that I have had the experience of a complete system replacement, I can say that their attention to detail is amazing.4.) TRUST. There is no other heating and cooling company that I trust to do business with. If I need electrical or plumbing work, I will turn to them as well.

He inspected everything and explained to me with details the whole situation. It turned out to be an improper wiring from original installation, as simple as that.I will use Bowman’s from now on to do the maintenance of my HVAC and for anything else related to my heating and air conditioning repairs.I highly recommend them. I hired Bowmans Plumbing and HVAC to install a new gas line and replace my electric water heater with a gas unit. The Bowmans technicians completed the work on time without any surprise charges. Fairfax county inspected and approved Bowmans work. Overall I had a positive experience with Bowmans.Scott Pierce (Service Manager) impressed me with effective communication. Scott came to our home within 2 hours after I requested an estimate. He submitted the estimate within a few hours after he left our home. Throughout the project Scott was always available to answer my questions (even in the evening and on the weekends). He also kept me updated on the next step throughout the project. I think this is important, especially during a big project, and one of the primary reasons for my rating. I was also thankful that they were available to start the project immediately. The plumbers that were in our home were pleasant and knowledgeable. Additionally, they swapped out one of my electric panel breakers at no charge.I paid Bowmans $4,450 to connect a new gas line from the meter to a manifold ($1,250). The work also included installing a new water heater to the manifold, an expansion tank, new vent, and minor electrical work ($3,200). The proposal and estimate contained very little details so I don’t know for certain what I was charged for materials and labor. However, I think I overpaid for the project. I estimate that the materials (including the permit) were about $2,000, which means they charged me $2,450 for labor. The master plumber was here for about 6 hours spread out over two days. The journeyman/assistant plumber was here for about 6 hours. So they charged me over $180 per man per hour. I was a bit annoyed that I paid that kind of money for a master plumber and they used SharkBites to connect the waterlines. Additionally, my wife found a coupon on their site but it turns out the coupon is pointless-they just add the coupon value ($100) to the estimate and the deduct the coupon value off the total.Lastly, they could have spent a few more minutes cleaning up. There were screws, staples, zip ties, and other debris left on the floor. Seems petty, but at $4,450 I shouldn’t have to clean up afterward, especially since there was a shop vac and push broom about 10 feet from the work site.I recommend consulting with Bowmans because they communicate well and will do a good job, but consider getting additional estimates.

I called Bowman’s for a quote when my 13 year old air conditioner system quit working on one of the hottest days of the summer. The company owner arrived within a day and offered a very competitive quote on a new system which I accepted within a day. They were able to install the new system within 3 days of accepting the quote. The installers were very professional and completed the job in one day. Unfortunately within 2 days after installation the system quit working but a Bowman’s service technician arrived within an hour of my call on a Sunday and discovered the issue was a clogged condensation line that had never caused an issue with the old system. The service technician cleared the line and then sent the installers back the following day when the same problem happened again and installed a condensation pump at no charge. Since the pump was installed about 3 weeks ago, the system has run perfectly.Highly recommend this company for air conditioning system installation as they seemed reputable, did the work quickly during peak cooling season, stood by their work and promptly fixed the system when an unanticipated situation arose with the condensation line.11/10/24 Update - Called Bowman today as HVAC quit working and thermostat had no power. The technician, Erik, discovered a wire at the heat pump was incorrectly installed and had caused the electronics on the air handler to malfunction. Erik fixed the wire and installed new electronics at no charge due to incorrect installation.

We had a toilet making noise, leaky outside faucets, and a leaky hot water heater. Bowman’s sent someone on the day I requested. Jackie came and was the nicest man. He explained everything he did, gave me an estimate up front and completed the work in a timely manner. It was a reasonable price for all the work that needed to be done. Jackie was very polite and professional. I will definitely use them again in the future and highly recommend!
