Jim is great. I found him a few years ago when I needed to replace my furnace. Since then I have used him to replace my water heater and to hook up my new stove to the gas lines. My neighbors have used him too to replace their furnace. They also think he is great. Recently, in inspecting our furnaces, he detected and alerted us to other problems in our building that needed to be fixed. He responds quickly. His work is excellent. He is very professional. His prices are reasonable.I very strongly recommend him to anybody.

Quick note on a fantastic experience. Jim was called to fix a plumbing issue and discovered that a cast iron pipe and drain needed to be replaced. He was able to take care of this within hours. Jim has been servicing our apartment for over 10 years and never disappoints!

Absolutely recommend! Jim did an excellent job installing our brand new system and guiding us through the oil-to-gas conversion. Even when we encountered hiccups outside of the project scope (hello, sudden asbestos removal!), he managed them professionally, efficiently, and with plenty of communication. Were really happy with our new system (so much hot water!) and would recommend Jims services to anyone!

On the evening the water pipe was frozen, I sent an e-mail for a service request to Jims plumbing & heating service. Twenty minutes after I sent the service request email, I got a call from Jim. After explaining the situation, I was able to book a business trip service on the spot. The next day, Jim arrived home at the appointment time at 8:30 am. It took 1 hour from start of work to finishing cleaning. In my case, the process and results were all smooth from service request to work completion. Even if something else happens, I think Ill have to ask Jim for work. Im glad there is a good plumber where I live.

We called Jim on 5/26/2020 as our dishwasher was causing the downstairs tenant to have flooding in their kitchen. Jim came right away and attempted to snake the drain but it was so clogged at a certain point it was pointless to go further. Jim placed new pipes in the basement ceiling to circumvent the clog. Jim was professional, courteous, and fair. We are happy with the work and we would use Jim again. In fact, we have used Jim two other times in the past for other issues and he has been outstanding. We recommend Jim to our family and friends.

Jim called me back the same day I called and was able to come out within a couple of days. Our steam heating system in our home was incredibly noisy and pipes would bang all over the house. Jim was able to perform a much-needed cleaning and overall service for the furnace and now our heat is silent! Will definitely call Jim for future heating/plumbing needs.

Had a great experience with Jims Plumbing & Heating! Jim is very accurate and upfront with the things he can do and cant do, along with his fees and labor cost. He was able to come to our place with only a day notice. Came right on time! Listened to my problem over the phone and asked a number of questions. Before coming to the place he was prepared with his plan of how to address the problem and did a very quick and effective job. Could not have been happier with this plumber! All important for any small business. He estimated the job--re-piping a gas connection in our kitchen wall to fit a new range--and completed the job promptly and as estimated. Hes personable, knowledgeable and thoughtful.Furthermore, he performed the job in September 2020 during the pandemic. Jim showed up quickly without an emergency fee, and correctly diagnosed the problem, which was electrical, not plumbing. He is also handling warranty paperwork for us, and reusing as much equipment as possible in our boiler replacement. He even took the time to look around the basement and recommend a few other things we should get repaired, not additional business for him, just a helpful eye. Very respectful and responsive while on site, even though we could not be in town for the work.

We had a collection of smaller plumbing issues that all needed to be resolved: the repair and/or replacement of a faulty toilet valve, a new water line installed for a refrigerator upgrade, and the repair of a leaking pipe. Even with Covid, Jim was able to work with us to determine the best path forward (we ended up deciding to replace the entire toilet), and perform the other repairs for a reasonable cost and timeline.I know that well be back if we have any more issues in the future.

It came to us later that it was a machine...also if one reluctantly uses a web site form beware of some scripts (here no..script net...) whereby one enters name and number and personal details and hope for best that it is not getting passed to others...None of this applies to principal Jim, (and Gas Work) and quite an impressive array on specifics detailed for each of these three services can be viewed at his web site. Web sites can, and Jims does, give one a positive perception. It is clear and straight forward, and that and much else, describes Jim.His expertise of plumbing, heating, and gas is complemented by his holistic, practical experience and understanding of the entire house, types of insulation, structural matters, and much else one will gleam when talking with him, and add this while he is working! Initially he was asked to remove a no longer length of bathroom vent pipe and remove gas line for dryer...He came to Medford mmediately after being contacted, did the work and before you know it we asked him to do more work based on the initial positive experience. We are glad we did. The project consisted of a complete Replacement of copper for kitchen sink supply lines, new laundry supply lines, and much else. Jim then noted kitchen vent pipe not per code..so we asked him to correct this; one does not want sewer gas in their home.A request was made another impersonal company, one who uses automation to confirm a request and one who is inflexible to acknowledge via other means of customer, not willing to acknowledge much else, again none of this applies to Jims company and that is where the focus of these words ought rest.It may not be often enough that one is in the company of a highly skilled person who conveys complete mastery of their field, lacks the slightest hint of arrogance, explains the process of steps of planned and current work, states when something observed is not per code, and helps one decide upon various ways to rightly address, all while being interesting and pleasant to talk with, what some describe as a person who does to tout how much they enjoy their profession -- that speaks in their detailed actions and quality outcomes.The words above hopefully approach what Jims work and manner of it, and what the outcome means for us, and you will agree when you meet Jims Plumbing & Heating.James Zappia -- June 2020, Medford, MA
