    It was super easy to schedule an appointment online. I received text and email confirmation. I also received a text on the day of the repair letting me know when the plumber would arrive. Steve was amazing and friendly; he is super experienced. Our kitchen faucet has indeed reached the end of its life so we are buying a new one. But he was able to clean out the parts and somehow get the sprayer re-attached to the hose so that we can use our kitchen sink before the installation of the new faucet. I really appreciated the ease of scheduling and Steve’s timeliness and experience. It was a no brainer to have him come back to do the installation in a couple of weeks. I’ve generally had really good experiences with Michael and Son over the years but the experience with Steve prompted me to leave a review.Edit: 12/31/24 - I am circling back to say that Steve did an incredible job with installing the faucet. He also identified some issues with the caulking and piping that he was able to fix. He has an attention to detail that is unparalleled. I’m sure that all the plumbers on staff are amazing, but I will always be requesting Steve for all of our future plumbing needs. There is a picture of the new faucet attached - sorry for my dirty dishes! I have 3 dogs and it never ends! Happy New Year!

    Right before Christmas, my parents had a major issue with their kitchen sink – it was so clogged it took 30-40 minutes to drain. We called Michael & Son Services, and they sent Steve to help.Steve was polite, friendly, and clearly knew what he was doing. He quickly diagnosed the problem and fixed it efficiently. In no time, the sink was draining perfectly again, just in time for the holidays!We’re so grateful for Steve’s professionalism and expertise during such a busy time of year. Thanks to Michael & Son Services and especially Steve for saving the day and making our holiday preparations much easier!

    We use Michael & Son Services for many of our home care needs and have always received great service. The most recent service was for a dishwasher hookup and everything was done quickly and professionally. We especially appreciated the extra care Steve took to ensure the work area was protected during the work. He also ensured that the area was immaculately cleaned after the work was completed.

    We had a problem with our heating system and Brian came out and quickly identified the problem. He placed the ordered part on emergency delivery to quickly get the system fixes. Earlier we had purchased the Gold Plan and it covers all service and parts costs. It also prioritized us to the top of the service list. I highly recommend Michael’s and Sons as well as the Gold Plan.

He showed up right on time at 8AM as expected, quickly figured out what I needed and fixed the shower; which had really old plumbing because my house was built in 79. Jarrett was polite, professional and explained what needed to be done very clearly so I could understand the work. Im super relieved to have this fixed and grateful for the professionalism and quick resolution. I will call Michael & Son Services again when needed, and will recommend to friends and family.

    I had a disposal that wasn’t working. Mr. McClung figured out that the disposal was only clogged. He gave me a wench and showed me how to clear the disposal on my own. Once I used the wench several times, the disposal worked perfectly again. Very appreciative of his help. Now I know what to do if it happens again.

I am a return customer, having plumbing/electric/HVAC services completed cyclically and will recommend this company to any prospective customers. I want to express my appreciation for the outstanding work delivered by the experts below:Brandon B (Electrician): Surgical accuracy in identifying a custom wire reroute to the attic, cleanly carving minimal entry points from the afci breaker up a few levels, leaving no trace of powdered drywall. He was able to install the wiring & switch in an optimal spot for anyone to access. Brandon carries a calm nature in customer homes, clearly driven by the curiosity required to deliver such expert service. My house has never felt so climately appropriate. :)Caleb H (HVAC): Incredible educator & widely knowledgeable in his field, originally came to flush the AC system. He took the time to walk me through my own HVAC unit, helping me understand basics about how the technology functions; which may lead to a possible adjunct to my system in the future. Caleb knows how to client-face with a modest mindset whilst encouraging the client to learn industry facts without using any hard-sell sales tactics.Jonathan H (Plumbing): Sharp inspection of a traditionally dysfunctional unit led to a simple solution. Other firms didnt take the time to understand that most clients wont want to buy a new toilet, especially after inheriting the bad unit through recent house purchase. Jon thought outside the box, came up with a quick & easy solution to the problem without pitching a new unit as the fix. After getting to know Jon a bit on the job, I see a promising manager in the midst of field operations. His natural people skills put customers at ease when stressed over small issues and management could always use folks with that mindset.Jarrett: Quick & easy inspection performed to identify a rogue leak. The technician was able to nail the reason and offer multiple courses of action, beginning with simple & cheap and ending with a complex (due to erroneous build of pipes) replacement. Jarrett is a solid worker & keeps the client involved in the process!Overall, anyone in need for the above services (and seriously, many more) will be materially missing out on expert delivery performed by down-to-earth folks if they dont go with Michael & Son Services. Hands down, great work everyone.

    Dustin from Michael & Son provided excellent service on routine maintenance for my HVAC. He changed a filter and was able to secure the filter access door which was damaged prior to my house purchase. He provided information on smart thermostats so I had him return the following week to install a new Eco Bee Thermostat. He hooked it up and showed me how to program it and use the APP. I have been very pleased with the professional treatment from all encounters with Michael & Son. If ever I have an emergency, they will be the first folks I call.

    Jon is a dear friend of ours and today on his way home in the work vehicle, he noticed that I had been struggling trying to put my mailbox back up after someone hit, dented it and ripped it off while I was at work. He pulled in and fixed my mailbox no questions asked. No hesitation. He recommended his company early last month after our pipes burst for the fourth time (and he assisted in shutting the water off immediately). We contacted Michael & Son and they sent Jimmy Ferrell, who was extremely well versed in his profession. Jimmy explained everything to us on a level that we could understand. He was very thorough with all of his work and we couldnt be any happier with Michael & Son. Additionally, we were able to start a payment plan, making all of our plumbing replacement affordable.     William was sent to correct an issue left by a previous technician. He arrived early for the fix appointment, was quick to diagnose the problem, and went above and beyond in making professional repairs to our newly installed water heater. He also reviewed a previous quote for an electric project at our home and made corrections to provide a more reasonable price than originally quoted. Previous technicians have been “hit or miss” with Michael & Son, but William provided nothing short of professional and excellent service to be excepted when paying today’s high prices for HVAC, Elect, and Plumbing services.

    Steve came to our house to troubleshoot a leaky hot water heater late on a Saturday. He stopped it leaking by shutting off the hot water supply line and draining the tank; the only fix until a new tank could be installed Monday. We had been mopping our basement for hours before Steve saved us! He was knowledgeable, quick, and pleasant. We look forward to having them finish the job on Monday.

    Mostly want to shout out Caleb Hoffman. Weve been having on and off issues with our new HVAC system freezing over since installation for 5 years on every hot summer day. After countless technicians and countless emergency calls or scheduled checkups and lots of frustration later calab finally came and took a look at it and solved the issue that no one else could find. Now summer days over 100F and the house is still nice and cold. I wish Michael and Son could have fixed it earlier but they did keep looking at it trying to solve it free of charge under warranty. Caleb gets a 5, M&S gets a 3 for an average of 4. Maybe they should look at their training.

    Had a flood in our well house 3 days before Christmas with 7 family members in town ranging in age from 3 to 73. 4 feet of water, exposed electrical, etc. Shut everything down which shut water off to the property. Called the emergency line late and they sent someone out right away. Randall was fantastic - professional, knowledgeable, prompt and thorough. He pumped out the well house, identified the issue, and went above and beyond to make sure we had running water even after some last minute issues came up just as he was leaving around 1 am. Got us squared away and charge a very reasonable price for a late night emergency call. Great experience and will be using Michael and Sons and specifically Randall again.10/11/24 update: had a strong sewer odor coming from the area of our septic pump system in the back yard. Had someone very local come look at it and they claimed it was natural, despite us telling them it had never happened before and that it seemed to fluctuate. Became very bad and we ended up with standing water around the pump enclosure. Called Michael and Sons and they had Nathan there the next day. He assessed things and we agreed it was likely a broken line from the pump to the drain field. He worked with his manager to find a solution at a reasonable price, then came back yesterday and spent all day digging the line (which was in a tight area inaccessible by machinery), repairing the break, and refilling the trench. Even came back very early this morning to get things to 100% since he was working until after dark last night. Nathan was fantastic to work with and went above and beyond to help get our issue resolved. Michael and Sons continues to deliver great service and value and helps set things right when we have critical issues arise.

    Contacted Michael & Son via their website regarding a water leak coming from a hose bib; was offered an appointment the very next day. The technician showed up on-time and went right to work. He showed us where the pipe had frozen and burst during the winter, and within an hour had the plumbing fixed, a new hose bib installed, and everything working again. He also installed a cut-off valve and access so we could avoid having the problem again during future winters. An overall great experience.

    I had a great experience with Michael & Son. I was warned that they are very expensive (Northern VA pricing), and I suppose that is true. However, I needed same day service for a clogged shower drain and a few misc. plumbing issues. Steve (my technician) arrived on time and was very professional. (I also received a text with his information and picture ahead of his arrival, which was very appreciated.) I walked him through the few issues and left him to do his work (I work remotely and had to be on and off calls while he was here). He made some suggestions for minor repairs and asked for approval before doing any of the work. He showed me the pricing breakdown and was transparent about what was required. He completed the work quickly, walked me through the issues, and answered all of my questions. I would definitely use Michael & Son again, and would certainly request Steve again if/when I have future plumbing issues.

    The maintenance plans have been a good experience for me. It is affordable and good to be sure someone is checking out my HVAV, Electrical and plumbing. There is no pressure to do suggested improvements but they will talk you if something is unsafe or not up to code and what would save you money or extend the life of your system. I get a discount on parts and labor because I am in the maintenance contract.I will say that the scheduling of the services is a pain and frequently the schedulers and workers don’t seem to be on the same page. I have taken the day off for the visit three times so far when the guy doesn’t show up. This is the weak part of the company in my opinion.The tech that came out most recently for my electrical inspection found some issues and created different estimates based on what I wanted to have done. He let me know the options which was great and he was very thorough with the inspection. Thank you Russell!

    I am a new homeowner and this was my first experience calling someone out for repairs and it was overwhelmingly positive. I called Micheal and Son after a major rainstorm caused some flooding the basement of the house I recently purchased. They were able to send someone that same day, whereas a competitor I called said they could not send someone for a full week. Noah Mayhew arrived that afternoon. As a new homeowner, I want to learn as much as possible about the systems in my home and Noah went above and beyond in showing me how things worked and explaining the systems to me so I could understand. He did not pressure me to get any repairs done, but laid out my options. He spent time making sure I had what I needed and seemed to really enjoy his work. He was very knowledgeable and I felt immediately I could trust him to do a really solid job. He fixed the problem and I feel prepared with more knowledge going forward. Next time I need work done, I will call Micheal and Son and ask for Noah Mayhew by name. What a great first experience; I didn’t know having a leak and having a technician come out could be such a pleasure!

He was very knowledgeable about the services he was providing and kept me abreast of what he did and showed me pictures of all that he inspected. In our review, after he completed his inspection, he explained in great detail his findings, his recommendations and his reasoning for recommending. Definitely will be using Michael & Son again for future services.

    Amazing service. Joey got our pool pump up and running again after a circuit breaker went bad. He also repaired some exposed wires a previous electrician left exposed.Very knowledgeable and professional.Will definitely use Michael & Sons for any future electrical work, plumbing and HVAC after this positive experience as well.

    I recently contacted Michael and Son regarding some electrical issues that I was having at my home that was likely caused by a power surge in my area. Specifically, these issues involved three outdoor spotlights that suddenly stopped working and I was very anxious to get them fixed. The Customer Service Agent who answered my call dispatched a technician to my house that very same day to come and fix the spotlights.JOEY GARTH is the electrician who came to assess and fix the problem. JOEY is a Master Electrician who has been with Michael and Son for several years and he was EXCELLENT!! He contacted me to let me know when he was on his way to my home and he even arrived several minutes early for our scheduled appointment. He was very professional, knowledgeable, and personable and he was able to fix all of the electrical issues that I was having in a very timely and efficient manner. He even had to “fight” his way through two tall bushes that were blocking his access to one of the spotlight receptacles that needed to have new lightbulbs installed. This was the first time that I have used the services of Michael and Son but it is a full service Home Care business which offers electrical,plumbing, HVAC, and other services. I was very pleased with my experience with Michael and Son and with Joey Garth’s work, in particular, and I will definitely be calling them in the future for my Home Care services!!

    This was my second time using Michael & Son services, first time for the HVAC. Zach was super helpful in doing a routine HVAC checkup. He was friendly and thorough. For example, he found that the original installers did not correctly setup the HVAC system’s auto shutoff mechanism in the case of a water leak—which would’ve completely ruined my home and budget. Zach identified the problem and fixed it, no questions asked. He also took care of other small issues and made recommendations to help me preserve the HVAC, and thus money and sanity in the long-run. I was thoroughly impressed and will definitely be using their services again.

    James, M&S plumber, was very professional and friendly. He quickly diagnosed the problem, clearly explained the fees (which were expensive but when you have a seriously clogged toilet in a one bathroom home, you pay the price), cleared the drain, and cleaned up the entire area. It was repaired so quickly that the relief I felt was nearly instantaneous. I would recommend M&S for this service.

    Michael & Son plumber replaced my water heater recently. It took some times to make the new water heater to be fully functional and released our frustrating. The team of Michael & Son was incredibly courteous, knowledgeable, passionate and professional.     These guys are absolutely amazing. They were able to install a brand new ac and heater system and were super friendly and professional. They came out to look at our old system and saw that it was leaking freon and not going to work anymore. They came up with 3 options for us to work with and got it installed in under a week. They also cleaned up after themselves with no mess left anywhere and took all thenold equipment with. Truly amazing and super helpful. Thank you for all the great work and will definitely be recommending them to my friends and family and anyone who wants stellar service!!!!

    Joey Garth came out to install a wholehome generator for us. He was absolutely awesome from start to finish. He walked us through our options after assessing our needs, and advised us as to our best way to go. On both days of the installation, he handled everything and took care of us as good as possible. Also, our plumbing appointment for the gas lines went perfectly as well. Michael and Son is a great company, and we are satisfied customers. Will recommend to our neighbors.
