5/7: Update - from my last reviews. All panels and micro inverters still going strong with no issues. I am grateful for a great install by Chris.Chris is the most efficient, detailed contractor I hired for my Solar Panel installation project. After vetting through 4 solar companies in the Austin area, I picked Chris for my solar installation project for my residential roof top. He was well organized, took his time calculating the project, to delivering on time. My project is over 2 years up and running and whenever I had a question or faced 2 small issues with the fuse , he was there to pick up my call and resolve the matter. I would definitely recommend this guy for your installation.

CR Solar is AMAZING !!! From the sales presentation where they answered every question, to the final installation everything was communicated thoroughly and the follow through was excellent. The install looks great - better than any in the neighborhood. The interface with the utility company and the electrical contractor was flawless. I was never rushed to make any spur of the moment decisions. They followed up with me to make sure every little detail was taken care of. I needed to uninstall the Solar panels from my house. So I contacted several companies and I initially liked how quickly Chris from crSolar got back with me, he came to look at what was needed and gave me a great quote. He is very easy to work with, reliable and very experienced. He ended up doing the work and I am very happy with the end result and would not hesitate recommending crSolar for any Solar job.

We are so happy to have picked CRSolar to do our ground-mount grid-tie solar installation. Chris was more than agreeable to our additional requests like having an extra conduit placed in the trench to the house and he increased the wind load rating by having more concrete in larger drilled foundation pillars. The equipment—the inverter, conduit, disconnect box—was placed on the wall of the house in a very neat, organized manner. Also, Chris walked us through the paperwork with the power transmission company and the power company. He always showed up on time, as scheduled.Then a few years later, after trouble free operation, we thought there was a problem with the inverter. We called Chris and he made an appointment for the next day to meet at the house. He determined the fuses in the breaker box out at the panels were blown and replaced them at that visit.CRSolar is a local company here to stay. We are so glad to have CRSolar to have done our installation. We highly recommend CRSolar without any reservation!

I reviewed the electricians that were Austin energy approved and contacted three from the list. Chris from crSolar provided a prompt competitive bid. I chose crSolar on the basis of a competitive bid, I was dealing with a principal of the business and Chris was very personable. During final analysis of the panel plan LG put some of their panels on sale so we were able to substitute a top end LG panel for the Mission panels that had been quoted(LGs are more efficient, put out more energy, and are less sensitive to heat/power decline). Permitting went quickly, the underlying electrical systems went in, panel installation was just over two days. Final inspection(this is Austin so always a concern) came two days quicker than promised and passed on the first inspection. No issues with Austin Energy putting the meter(s) in. Performance has been as expected for the panels rating and two months into it we are netting 0 energy from the grid. Chris has provided follow up after installation and has/was a splendid person to work with, showed up as promised, and the workers on site were polite, left a clean site, and performed their task effeciently and without disruption to the neighbors. I highly recommend crSolar to anyone in the Austin area wanting to limit their exposure to Austin Energy high electric bills.

My solar system stopped working and the company that installed it is out of business so I called Chris. Wish I had used him to install my system to begin with. Chris found the problem and called Solar Edge , got the new inverter and installed it. Highly recommend Chris for not only our solar but for all your electrical needs. Professional and reasonable.

I have only praise for crSolar. I have owned a 6kW PV system on my home in Round Rock in 2 strings of 12 panels each with a standard inverter since Feb 2014. The system was designed and installed by crSolar. I have never been unsatisfied in any way - the performance of the system and of crSolar have been superb. Chris Rath is detail-oriented, knowledgeable, personable and accountable. He allowed me to pick my own panels and brand of inverter. He handled my many questions with great patience and professionalism. His pricing was very fair. He used above-grade components and fasteners and explained them well. He was on-time and on-schedule at all points in the project. You may get glossier brochures from other companies, but I encourage you to check-out crSolar. Your money will never be wasted on administrative and sales overhead, but will go towards your system, which will be designed by a NABCEP certified solar panel installer and supported by that competent team over the years.

I had CR Solar design and install a 9 kW solar system on my roof. The panels were black monocrystaline with microinverters. The racking is essentially invisible. That combined with the black color make the system as appealing as possible. I had a quote from SunPower and their quote for a very similar system was 50% higher than the quote that CR Solar provided. The solar payback period would have not been viable in my opinion with the higher quote. I am inside of Austin, but a customer of Pedernales Electric and so the only rebate available to me is the federal rebate so keeping the cost low was essential. CR was exactly what I needed. Chris and his team were knowledgeable, flexible and pleasant to work with. I highly recommend CR Solar.
